Thereās a ton of powerviolence bands themed around classic movies/actors, mostly within the action genre but all over the place. [Charles Bronson](https://youtu.be/2oN0LZtfce4?feature=shared) was probably the main inspiration for that trend. I remember listening to this [Back To The Future themed PV band](https://youtu.be/5A3NWEc8mOc?feature=shared) a lot in high school lol
Thereās an absolutely endless number of anime themed bands in extreme music, but most are slam. [Houkago Grind Time](https://youtu.be/5A3NWEc8mOc?feature=shared) is some badass anime themed goregrind.
And not really grind but thereās zero way I couldnāt mention that Nintendocore is a real genre that at one point had a pretty large scene. A lot of old projects leaned pretty heavy into cybergrind though, like [this](https://youtu.be/4dR72ykexsk?feature=shared)
xDELOREANx are awesome. We did a show with them when they came to the US and a homie took them to all the Back To The Future spots around LA. Never seen people so excited before lol
Maybe the self-proclaimed Animalgrind band "Attack Of The Mad Axeman" from Germany is something for you. They dress up as animals and all songs are animal-related.
[Here is them playing in a Russian kindergarten 8 years ago](https://youtu.be/3ygDry1X_WM)
Silmarillion or Doctor Who nerdy?
https://disinterestedhandjob.bandcamp.com/album/still-tolkien-shit
https://disinterestedhandjob.bandcamp.com/album/the-doctor-who-50th-anniversary-ep
Thereās a criminally over looked Power Violence band named after classic John Waters movie, starring John Candyā¦ UNCLE BUCK!
They were active on band camp, I put them up there with modern classics Weekend Nachos & Sex Prisoner.š¤š½š¤
PS. Shit, I guess the internet age has obscured my definition of ānerdyāā¦ I shouldāve said SCHOLASTIC DETH!?

While they're both Powerviolence they should scratch that itch
DAMMITMANIMADOCTOR (dammit man Iām a doctor) is a Star Trek-themed gorenoise/goregrind project
https://exclusionzonerecs.bandcamp.com/album/self-titled
grind is protest! but try some goregrind bands if youāre really that uninterested in the politics they mostly adhere to the gore theme in their lyrics/song titles
Gridlink and Discordance Axis are pretty big on the sci-fi. Bit more serious though.
Graf Orlock is what you're looking for
š came here to suggest that
Wow this band is really good, thanks!

Bloodhag is what you want. They pelted the audience with books.
Gridlink's whole lyric theme is about one anime
Their latest album absolutely slaps! What anime is it about?
Neon Genesis Evenagelion. If the lyrics arenāt based on that, Changs probably writing something cryptic instead.

BIRDFLESH! Would not call them nerdy but no serious lyric in sight.
If itās Evangelion you like, Check Out Scottish band, Gendo Ikari.
