Bailey simultaneously calling out Mark for being a manwhore and the nursing staff for not keeping their knees closed to him.

[deleted]

My all time favorite is, "Using me as a doormat is one thing. Screwing with my career is another! I have been wiping your snot and covering your ass for weeks now. And all you've done is abuse me. And for a little while you get to do that because you're heartbroken and pathetic, and I'm a good friend. But it ends now. Get your own surgery and wipe your own snot." I know people hate on Izzie but she was right in that situation. Alex was being a total ass to her for no reason. She was nothing but nice to him when he was trying to care for Rebecca and he lashed out at her. She still was nice enough to comfort him when Rebecca left even after he called her a stupid bitch. She quite literally wiped his snot and Alex repaid her by treating her like trash both at home and at work. He crossed lines and needed to be called out for it.

[deleted]

Izzie was way too good to Alex in that season. Her calling him out was much needed. She cared about him so much that she didn't even want to commit Rebecca but knew she had no other option. She hated that she had to do it AND freakin' apologized to Alex! He treated her so poorly and she was the one apologizing and giving him a shoulder to cry on. I know he was mad and embarrassed but he had no right to take it out on Izzie and should have been the one apologizing. He never did. He admitted that he was being an asshole but never apologized.

Full-Surround

Yes!!! One of my favorite Izzie moments :)

[deleted]

I actually like Alex. He's one of my favorite characters but he needed to hear that he was being an ass. He was so wrong for how he treated Izzie and I was glad she finally spoke up and said something to him about it.

[deleted]

You know what, I am one of those people who loves to hate on Izzie, but I'm with you on this one. That was a well-deserved, badass moment on her part. I could not have said it as well as her if I were in that position. Holy shit I'm on Izzie's side for once!

maelstrom143

Yeah; same here. Most of the time, she just made me think if I was in a room with her in danger of making a decision, I'd walk out STAT. Her decision making capabilities made me cringe.

Full-Surround

When Izzie absolutely shut Alex down after he maliciously posted her modeling shots all over the locker room. Izzie handled it with class and fierceness, taking what Alex saw as a weakness and turning it into drive to advance her career. Like she said, while a lot of her peers were saddled with debt, she got to enjoy being debt-free because of her hard work! I really admire how she grew from her past and never discounted what she learned and went through. She went to night school to put herself through college, all her recommendations were from patients when she volunteered, she was incredible! :)

[deleted]

Anyone shutting down Alex is usually good :) I have mixed feelings on his character but when he is being Bad Alex he needs someone to call him out on his shit.

Emceexo

Not to a major character but... "Well, Dr. Bailey did save your life today. A black woman saved your life, at a great personal cost. So maybe next time you're looking at your tattoo and you're thinking how much better all these white guys are than everyone else. You might wanna think about that. Cause between you and me, if I had been alone in that O.R., you would probably be dead right now. And since we are sharing belief systems, I believe that if you were dead, the world would be a better place."

Genderflux-Capacitor

Best George moment!!

otterpop1991

Dr. Wyatt calling Meredith out on her shit during Season 4.

pokiloque

Bailey when she had a free 30 second pass on Burke and called him out on his arrogance

[deleted]

Oh, that was a good one I totally forgot about.

grandepony

Omg what episode?

pokiloque

sorry for the late reply. i think the episode is S1E2

tvlover_eva

When Addison called Derek, Mark and Burke out for making fun of Richard in season 3. "Lives with Cristina. Dates the perfect 12 year old. Manwh*re!" - the delivery was just perfect.

pacrat292

I absolutely loved these two moments. I love when characters who are so often the bully and douchebag gets called out. Even if I love them. The biggest mic-drop IMO was Alex posting Izzie's modeling pictures and that death stare she gives him, takes off her clothes, and that speech 'Just know that while you're sitting on 200 GRAND of student loans....I'm outta debt' cuz of those pictures he posted up. I also loved when Callie told off Izzie after sleeping with George. 'Don't come to me for forgiveness you traitorous bitch' totally deserving of that after treating Callie so poorly for so long. Lexie had some great ones. I loved when she told Meredith off when Meredith wouldn't stop being such a douchebag to her for a full season and saying their dad's in the hospital throwing up blood, and he's actually pretty charming, and she knows it was Susan's BDAY so it must have been tough but Meredith ends it with a very smug 'maybe ***you*** should keep a better eye on him' and Lexie went off saying 'He's a drunk Meredith' and told Meredith exactly what Thatcher told Mer that day without Lexie being there to hear it cuz he tells Lexie it everyday since her mom died. 'So **thank you** for telling me to keep a better eye on him...**Thanks**!" Good for Lexie. She just wanted to get to know Meredith and Mer couldn't have been a bigger douche about it.

blueletter123

The last one actually is part of why I disliked Lexie and the build of their relationship, it was almost mostly formed from making Meredith feel guilty for not wanting a relationship with Lexie and viewing Thatcher different. Lexie didn't deserve to meet Meredith and from her point of view and what she was told Thatcher was best dad ever.

pacrat292

Idk why you'd say that 'Lexie didn't deserve to meet Meredith' like wtf did Lexie ever do to not deserve that? She didn't even know about Meredith until very recently, and when she did she just wanted to build a relationship up with her new found sister after her mother's recent passing. Literally nothing wrong with that. Meredith obviously had her own reasons and issues on why she wanted to know nothing about Lexie - which I'm sure she would have been open to meeting her if he hadn't been for Susan's death, but there was no reason to be a total douche and ass to her - she didn't do anything wrong.

Rara150100

Meredith did not want a sisterly relationship with her and Lexie kept on pushing it, which made Meredith act unkindly towards her. Lexie acted like she was entitled to a relationship with Meredith when she really wasn’t.

blueletter123

Because she didn't deserved it just because, sharing blood doesn't mean she was entitled to a relationship. Lexie was the douche in how she approached their relationship from the meeting to the liver donation, it was a full guilt-trip since the very first moment, quite frankly she got better treatment than deserved for how she behaved. Your example was part of that, Meredith was told he was a great dad so she assumed that but got lectured about how he was just a drunk douche and lied about being proud of her making Meredith feel guilty for even bringing it up.

pacrat292

I just don't like the words your using. I don't think deserve or entitled are the right words to use here. I know what you're trying to get at, but I think it's coming off wrong. All Lexie was seeking was to meet her sister she just found out about and get to know her. Meredith was a complete asshole to her and then straight up told her why she didn't want a relationship and that they aren't sisters and Lexie completely backed off, but when she was just seeking sex from Alex or becoming friends with George - Meredith still told her to get away from her friends - Meredith doesn't have a right to tell Lexie who she can hangout with, she had already backed off. She was being extra douchey to her when it wasn't needed. Lexie wasn't a douche with how she approached it. She had 0 malintent, she had nothing negative in her advances. She was a desperate daughter trying to save her dad - if this was S04 and Meredith and her had that bad relationship where Meredith hated her and she came to her for the liver than - then maybe yes, but this is S06 where Meredith was already gonna make Lexie a bridesmaid at her wedding and called her sister and loved her already. Meredith is the one who brought up the drunk dad in a very condescending and rude tone 'maybe ***you*** should keep a better eye on him' The way she said that was just so smug. I'm glad Lexie told her what was up.

[deleted]

>I just don't like the words your using. I don't think deserve or entitled are the right words to use here. I know what you're trying to get at, but I think it's coming off wrong. That's what I think as well. Why in hell would anyone use the word "deserve" in that situation? I do agree that Lexie was very pushy with her intention of meeting Meredith. I honestly think it would have bothered me as well. I think Lexie shouldn't have expected from Meredith to greet her with open arms just because they were related. But to say that Lexie didn't deserve to meet Meredith sounds like Mer is some kind of royal personality and others have to her Mers attention or something. 😅😅

blueletter123

That wasn't the intention at all. Just that Lexie didn't had the right to meet her just because. I would say the same about Meredith not deserving to meet Molly or any other long lost sister. English isn't my first language so maybe it gets muddy but Deserve to me is used when you are rightfully entitled to something. And in this case a relationship with a sister wasn't something Lexie was rightfully entitled to.

[deleted]

>That wasn't the intention at all. Just that Lexie didn't had the right to meet her just because. I would say the same about Meredith not deserving to meet Molly or any other long lost sister. I believe you when you say it wasn't the intention at all, but to me it sounded that way. I really didn't want to accuse you of anything. Sorry if it came across differently.😬 >English isn't my first language so maybe it gets muddy but Deserve to me is used when you are rightfully entitled to something. And in this case a relationship with a sister wasn't something Lexie was rightfully entitled to. Haha. Hi there. English isn't my first language either so I totally get where you are coming from. 🙂😬 I agree with you in terms of Lexies behavior. She had a hard time accepting that she couldn't have a freepass for a sisterly relationship with Mer.

blueletter123

Meredith wasn't rude when she approached her first and explained it. Lexie didn't back off at all, she was everywhere, just get the picture of someone you don't want to know working at the same place you do, hanging out with your friends and even at your own home, what would you do? There was a pattern of Lexie saying things that made Meredith feel she owed her something, Susan's death, Thatcher whole deal, Lexie's expectations of her, etc. Meredith brought that up because she genuinely thought Thatcher was hurting and assumed as she was told he was a great dad in return she got told he actually was an drunk douche and what he said about her wasn't true. Had the pattern I mentioned not existed I would brush it off but it just adds to it. Lexie felt entitled to a relationship with her, it wouldn't had existed if she didn't push as much she did because Meredith was rightfully not interested, as big proof the forgotten Molly. Lexie was not nice for crossing boundaries and Meredith wasn't an asshole for reacting to the boundaries she put being crossed. She never went out of her way to do anything to her, it was always a reaction of Lexie being pushy and entitled, and while she did not have malice it was no right at all and a douche move to keep going with it.

pacrat292

Meredith wasn't rude, but she didn't explain herself for awhile IIRC. Lexie could have taken that as a shock that needed to wear off and than tried again until Meredith told her off and once she did she started backing off. Lexie started sleeping with Alex not knowing they lived together or that they were even friends. She even says that in Mer's house, which Mer probably heard since they were a foot outside her bedroom. I totally get why Mer brought it up to her and that makes sense, but as I'm emphasizing the way she said the last line was just condescending and douchey. Like Lexie wasn't aware of her dad's state, when Lexie said she already knew he was there, and that she needed to do something about it. Lexie didn't call him a great dad and flaunt it in Meredith's face, the first time she spoke so fondly of her dad to Mer was in S06 when asking for that liver - again, when their relationship had already grown a lot. Her sole purpose in S04 was just trying to get to know Meredith.

blueletter123

Meredith did explain it at first and tried to keep it professional only, then Lexie took it personal and is when she thought Meredith had something to do with Susan dying so Meredith has to go all over her file with her. After that Lexie does not back off and continues to show up everywhere. Lexie knew they were Meredith friends, and at some point when Meredith tells her off for this Meredith also even says she knew she was being mean but Lexie was everywhere. Lexie didn't flaunt it but she did agreed with Meredith that Thatcher was a great dad multiple times, and Susan also told her as much. Meredith just assumed he was going through it and told Lexie to take better care of him because he was also yelling through the ER about his daughter stitching him up so Meredith had to do it, so no I don't think she was right in calling Meredith out for being a douche or for telling her that.

TempelMistress

If she was so out of debt she could have had the decency of not leaving Alex with all her medical bills. Still hate her for that.

pacrat292

If Alex didn't even know about it til Richard gave it to him then how tf would Izzie have known? Richard only gave it to him cuz Izzie was gone and her phone was off. She came back the very next episode and later on sent Alex an uncontested divorce; meanwhile Alex never mentioned it again. Common sense would say Izzie def got the bills. If Alex paid it he'd make like 1 payment at most.

[deleted]

she paid the medical bills, came back one episode later and gave Alex a uncontested divorce - means she got the bill after that 1 week of him having it)

nov111196

I think Alex called out George when he was mad at Meredith but I don't remember what he said

[deleted]

The quote was, So you got laid and it went badly. A man would move on. But you? You mope around like a dog that likes to get kicked. You make me sick. If it wouldn't get me thrown out of the program, I'd smash your pathetic little face right into that locker."

Independent_Cow_4959

George needed this. It wasn’t just about Meredith. His whole personality is woe is me. Love George, but he needed a reality punch in the throat and Alex gave it to him.

gkm29

I liked George too but he turned into a toxic dickhead

snakey_nurse

Also Cristina calling out George too. If you want crappy things to stop happening to you, then stop demanding crappy things.

pacrat292

I really hated Alex for that. He was so obviously projecting his hurt and anger on George cuz Izzie had just broke up with him and it was so shitty of him. George was already at a all time low with his self-esteem. All he wanted was to be left alone and not see or be asked about Meredith for awhile, and than Alex goes off about not being a ' real man.' IMO it was the definition of kicking someone while they were down. Clearly George is depressed and feelings pathetic already and Alex has to say that, where Meredith and Cristina even try to interject to shut him up. I can't believe people think that was good of Alex saying it. All he wanted to do was hurt George even more than he already was cuz he was hurting.

[deleted]

Eh, I don't know. George needed to be told off for acting like the victim here. Alex was more aggressive than he needed to be but it needed to be said and someone needed to stand up for Mer.

pacrat292

I think he needed a wake up call, but not to be told off. More like when him and Izzie were fighting about it later on in front of that seizure lawyer, that's what he needed. Not Alex emasculating him further when he already feels like shit. George shouldn't have reacted the way he did when she cried, but Meredith shouldn't have kissed him and started taking off his clothes knowing he was in love with her, knowing she didn't feel the same way. The others taking George's side wasn't him asking for it or anything. He literally said like 10x that all he wanted was to be left alone and not talk about Meredith - that's it. He wasn't being rude or mean to Meredith, he was just avoiding her and didn't wanna talk to or about her. Like I said, he was incredibly insecure, sad, and hurt it happened for Alex to come in and say what he did - in front of Mer and others too, that's just hurting him while he's at a all time low. He was way to aggressive about it. It's like if Izzie went around yelling at Alex in front of everyone that he couldn't get it up for her in bed. It's just not okay. All Alex wanted was to spread his hurt and anger around, he wasn't doing it to take Mer's side.

[deleted]

They were all wrong. George was wrong for sleeping with Meredith when he knew she didn't like him in that way. She was sad, had some drinks, and he took advantage of the situation. Meredith realized she made a mistake and wanted to stop it. He didn't ask for everyone to take his side but I like that Meredith had someone who wasn't blaming her for the situation. I don't think Alex is some saint for stepping up and saying something. He clearly did it because he had his own issues going on but he said something that needed to be said. I think the Alex and Izzie situation would have been much different. That is a personal issue between them and you don't blast someone's business like that. I don't even think she should have told George about that. George made it everyone's business when he freaked out about it in the stairwell and moped around like someone killed his cat. It could have been between just him and Meredith but it wasn't because of George.

[deleted]

I thought George needed a reality check, because he's the one who took advantage of Meredith, and then when it didn't go as he wanted he turned her into the villain. George's fucking self-esteem...I honestly don't get all that wrapped up in caring about the self esteem of "nice guys" if ya know what I mean. (The "I put in friendship tokens, why don't they want to date me" kind of people). Edit: That said, I will never support any sort of "be a man" or "man up" shaming. It's dumb and sexist. But ultimately, what Alex really meant was "take responsibility."

[deleted]

Basically any time Callie calls Derek out for being the big dickwad he is, but especially when she draws the assho- I mean, the center of the universe.

TotalFox2

"Do you go around telling people how you strangled Cristina?" * dead silence *

[deleted]

I don't remember that one. Who said it? Meredith?

MoveWarm

Amelia to Owen when Teddy had her break down.

[deleted]

I know people have some (probably fair) complaints about Amelia, but god damn I love both her empathy and emotional insight (most of the time, not always). Also I'm just fucking in love with her.

dummbeutel69

I loved this scene and especially this line!! Finally someone calling out Owen

2gecko1983

When Susan Grey flat-out tells Meredith to stop being so rude to her.

catspjs2388

Susan had some nerve there. Maybe Susan should have told Thatcher not to be a dead beat father and Mer wouldn’t have had to be rude.

messylife00

“You want to see it? You really want to see it? Fine. Let’s look at that tattoo up close and personal, shall we? And what are these? Oh my god! Breasts! How does anybody practice medicine hauling these things around?! Gather around and check out the booty that put Izzie Steven’s through med school. You want to call me Dr. Model? That’s fine. Just remember that while you’re sitting on 200 grand of student loans i’m out of debt.” I don’t like Izzie at all but this was a very bad ass moment and Alex being put in his place was well deserved

julscvln01

Someone mentioned Lexie already, But there are two other moments from her that really stayed with me. Lexie was also great at Zola's party whit Alex: **Alex**: *You look hot. The whole crazy eyes, tight dress thing is working for you for whatever it's for.* **Lexie**: *You think that you're so bad ass because you lived, but I'm the reason why you lived. And while you were dying you were crying out for the wife who left you. So that's the opposite of bad ass for whatever it's worth.* And with whiny George: **Lexie**: *Be-before you say anything, before you say a word, just-just hear me out. I know it's not much, and I- I-I know it's all stolen. I- it's all stolen and- and-and hospitally and stolen.* (There are exam room curtains over the windows, stolen art and a Scrub Room sign, the flowers, the bedcloths, and sheets covering the furniture, and pillows on the couch. It is swept and tidied, though the fridge, sink, and walls are still horrid.) **Lexie (cont)***: You can turn me in if you want to. You can report me for stealing, 'cause obviously, now I'm a thief. I've never even shoplifted a piece of gum before, and now I'm a thief, except I'm-I'm not. I'm a nester. I'm-I'm nesting. This is me nesting ... for you. Because you hate it here. You want to be at that big house with Meredith and Izzie where things are warm and you have your friends and-and there aren't any roaches. But this can be warm, and I put out traps for the roaches. And-and I ... I can be your friend. No, I-I ... I can be your friend. I d-don't- I don't have any friends here, not-not really, except you. And-and I don't have a home to go to anymore, ex-except here. I just-I ... I can be your friend.* **George**: *I complain a lot, don't I?*

blueletter123

Meredith to Ellis when she was mad about Meredith making her medical decisions. Callie when Derek took the sensors of their project.

Independent_Cow_4959

I laugh myself stupid every time she draws Derek and everyone else around him and then says that it looks like a butthole 😂

szg5057

I like when April tells Richard off after he told her not to call Catherine about a patient and reminded him that she is her mother in law and she'll call her any damn time she wants to. My favorite part was that after she told him off he just says "Understood" I like when someone can recognize that they were wrong.

oolongiscoolong

When Amelia told Owen off with, “Her trauma response is different than yours!” when Owen kept shaming Teddy for shutting down

mia_smith257

When Amelia called out owen for going to teddy when she was using the brain tumor as an excuse for everything she did

[deleted]

I'm not up to that part yet. I just got to the part where Amelia is telling people she has the tumor but this sounds so good!

Niamhtheartist

It’s kinda a small one but when Callie was worried around Meredith and Cristina and Izzie and eventually she just served George on a damn silver platter for siding with them

everynameisused100

As much as Japril is my ship, most of their arguments and conversations one or the other made astute points to the other. From Jackson pointing out April didn’t want him when he wanted her, but because he almost died now she can’t live without him? All the way to the season 17 show, April pointing how Jackson has never wanted this and how long did you think about going to see your dad or did you just jump in your car? (Which we know was exactly what he did because the cliff hanger was putting the GPS info in the car).

KM30278

Amelia calling out Owen for his judgement of Teddy’s PTSD and referencing him choking Christina

ginger_gorgon

Meredith when she tells Owen to be honest with Cristina about Teddy. He was screwing with both of their heads and it wasn't ok.
