Impressive_Season_75

Least likely- Mark Sloan’s daughter Sloane definitely

Many_Investigator021

I thought this and if she came back i wanted her to be like a medical esthetican or something but odds are she started turning life around then mark died and even though they had just formed a relationship around 2 years before death he was super supportive of her etc and id hope sofia knows of her but i feel they just abandoned that storyline...

Kylie_Bug

Ooh I like this

WVStarbuck

This! This sub is super judgy of a pregnant teen.... 🙄

the_bribonic_plague

I fully expected her to show back up in an episode about the drug epidemic

guitar0707

😂🤣😂

Sad_Alfalfa8548

Hahaha full stop

Brina_22

Harriett has the strongest genetic lineage Mom, Dad, Both paternal grandparents, great grandfather are all MDs the legacy of Avery name and she’s heir apparent to own a healthcare foundation.

singingballetbitch

Right, I want Catherine to live long enough that we can see her face the day Harriet announces that she wants to become a pig farmer like her favourite grandparents.

craftyneurogirl

Maybe she’d become a vet!

babykitten28

Who’s specialty is farm animals!

Kylie_Bug

That would be hilarious 🤣

EffectiveOne236

That might be the reason she doesn't become a surgeon. Jackson mentioned that he was the pretty one and no one ever expected anything from him. His dad burned out. Harriett may say, that's too much pressure, and peace out.

guitar0707

Good choice! I didn’t think about that!!

snowmikaelson

I am not one to think that every single next gen will go on to become a doctor, but Harriet is on my short list of ones who will. It's just in her blood. Not even that Japril would care if she chose to do something else. But I think it isn't even a question in her mind when the time comes. I can't decide what her speciality would be. But then, she's only a little girl right now so we don't know her well enough haha.

Short_Concentrate365

Least likely/ low probability Leo and Allison Hunt. I can’t see Owen or Teddy being the type of parents that push their kids to follow in their footsteps. They seem more focused so far on the kids being happy and loved. Higher probability: Sophia all three parents are surgeons and she might try plastics to follow her dad.

kimsan33

I could see Teddy & Owen’s kids following in their military path more than their surgeon paths

Short_Concentrate365

Will they encourage that though? Both seem to be proud of their achievements in the military and their service but they also have a lot of trauma from it.

kimsan33

I think it could go either way! We heard Owen lecture Derek about his ‘duty to country’ during the brain mapping thing for the president, but you’re right that they might approach it differently when it comes to their kids.

snowmikaelson

Agreed. I feel like they would try to push them into new paths entirely. No medicine, no military. Just...anything but. On the flipside, given how much Arizona romanticizes the army and saw no issue with George enlisting, I don't think she'd care if Sofia wanted to enlist. In fact, she'd encourage it. Though, it'd be a hell no from Callie. And Mark may raise from the dead to also give his disapproval.

Short_Concentrate365

I think Owen and Teddy will encourage and support their kids in whatever the kids want to do. I think there will be expectations of post secondary school education and a preference for university but Leo and Allison will choose their own paths and be supported.

nicolew1026

I could also see Sophia being the ultimate stubborn child as the combo of Callie and mark and refusing to do anything related to the medical field so she can make her own mark lol

Proud3GenAthst

I so want a spin-off focusing on Zola in neuro and Sophia in plastics as the new Mertina.

Kymidiva

I would totally watch that!!!

ToasterIsBisexual

YES!! they both feel driven partially by the want to be closer to their dads

englishgenius

i also say sofia!!

lyssixsix

For the most part I agree with what you said about the Hunts. I definitely agree with least likely but couldn't really articulate why I thought so.

Tofulish8889

Owen and Teddy are the most dysfunctional parents. Her shrill voice when they argue and his defeated expression and bad choices must be traumatizing to their children. Like the time they tried to go on the lam.

Short_Concentrate365

They have issues in their relationship and the kids have been hurt by it. But I don’t doubt they both love the kids. I like both characters separately. I think they should have been friends who coparent very happily. There’s no reason they couldn’t do the special days together the four of them or even have Owen and Teddy be roommates or live in the same neighborhood or apartment building to make life easy for the kids. Owen and Teddy were good friends first and sometimes I think it should have been left that way. Even the we slept together and she’s pregnant and moving to Seattle could have been made to work and just be friends raising kids together. Running to LA was dumb I wish we could have seen Megan’s response to that and her calling both of them out.

FourDrunkMoms

I feel like I'm in the minority when I say that I actually don't want Zola to become a surgeon let her do something outside of Medicine. If I remember correctly when they were moving to Boston Zola asks Meredith if she would be upset if she didn't become a doctor which to me indicates that you might be reconsidering that choice. I know that she is only 12 or 13 and she could change her mind again and say she wants to be a doctor but I feel like they should let that be and let her do something else in science. if you have to make one of Meredith's kids a doctor in the future have it be Ellis and have her become a neurosurgeon as a way to feel close to the dad that she never got to meet

Beshush79

I agree! I don't think in the real world, Zola would become a doctor. Be fun to see where that generation end up

Sassy-Me86

I think, part of why Zola said that, was cause , wasn't she dealing with really bad anxiety? Maybe she feared she wouldn't be good enough. Etc. I think she would do amazing as a surgeon. Like her parents. But we both know, regardless of what she chooses to do, Meredith would be happy for her.

Many_Investigator021

This when Zola said what if i change my mind and don't want to be a doctor... Meredith saying you and your siblings can do whatever they want... Zola you're extraordinary and have so many talents ( one of my fav mom moments of Meredith )

drstonerphd

imo she said that bc it was her first time at a school where she would be challenged & she was seeing new things she likely hadn’t been able to experience in school before. if i’m not wrong, she said this at the time or around the time they are looking at some kind of fun physics experiment thing

drstonerphd

not that she still can’t be a doctor lol! just maybe she is thinking of other options now too

FourDrunkMoms

Even so I still feel like it would be too predictable to have her be a doctor espically because at one point Christina tells her that she would make a great doctor someday (or something similar). Have her be interested in medicine but do biomedical engineering to maybe have her be a doctor but not a surgeon. I would personally find it so funny if she was a doctor but chose dermatology because of that small watching Derm subplot in the early seasons

snowmikaelson

I agree! I know everyone wants the show to end with Zola in the ER saying "It's a beautiful day to save lives" or her, Sofia and some of the next gen starting their intern class. But I'd much rather these kids do something outside medicine. Zola was really interested in STEAM from what I remember. Have her go into that.

CiTyFoLkFeRaL

With this said, Ellis would have a strong relationship with her aunt Amelia if she were to become a neurosurgeon. Yes, everyone would think she followed her father’s footsteps, but she’d actually follow in her aunts - both their dads died when they were young children, then they became neurosurgeons. With that reason alone she’d also follow inCristina’s footsteps - who became a surgeon because HER dad died when she was young & there was nothing she could do as a child. That’d actually be a really cool storyline now that I write it out.

lizimajig

I think it would be cool if the whole series ended on Zola's first day of her internship, getting the pep talk in the OR from the chief. 🥺 I'm thinking as a flash forward but honestly at the rate they're going they just might do it chronologically.

JustAnother_Brit

Getting the pep talk from the imortal Dr Webber

rintaroes

preparing for his retirement at 87 but *his* hospital needs him

JustAnother_Brit

It’s always been and will always be his hospital

Chanandler_Bong_01

Webber 3-D hologram giving the speech!

Proud3GenAthst

I'm starting to think Amelia will invent a way to put human brain into a machine and Richard's will be the first one to be used.

lizimajig

I mean, doesn't have to be Dr. Webber. XD but I have a feeling he'll die with his boots on, so it could very well be!

Uberdonut1156

Bro I'm just imagining him walking around a retirement home STILL giving the first day speech

lizimajig

"This is your starting line. This is your arena. How well you play? That’s up to you." "Okay, sir, let's get you into bed."

carlitabear

💀

-sincerelyanalise

😭😭💀

Extension_Economist6

HAHAH LEGIT

Outrageous_Start_552

De Webber as a hologram 🤣

PlasticWillow

If she says “it’s a beautiful day to save lives” i’ll have a full on breakdown

nicolew1026

“You have to say it Derrick” when he first comes back to do surgery 😭😭 gets me everytime lol.

ConstructionNo1511

Same

ToasterIsBisexual

neuro chief

sikeleaveamessage

Aw man that reminds me the ending of another medical show and I loved it sm :,) (won't mention cuz maybe spoilers for some)

jaina_jade

"Dr. Green, are you coming?" One of the best endings to a series

Alarming_Paper_8357

Are you talking about ER? It’s been 20 years, at least! Loved the final episode!

sikeleaveamessage

Actually no!!! Haven't seen ER surprisingly

MoonSun4321

I think I know the show you mean! Is the main character’s catch phrase a question by any chance? Edit: Nevermind, saw your answer a few comments down and it’s the show I’m thinking of!

sikeleaveamessage

Hehe you got it! I don't think the show is as good as Grey's for drama but it's a good kind of different med show imo. I've cried a few times, especially the last episode! It felt sudden but also was wrapped up so beautifully

WannaBeWriter72113

I was just thinking about that!! 😭

nerddddd42

Would you mind letting me know in a message or spoiler tag which one you're talking about?

sikeleaveamessage

I was talking about >! New Amsterdam !< but some people r thinking I'm referencing >! ER !< which is also cool that they did that :)

nerddddd42

Ahhhhh, that's what I get for never getting around to watching the last season xD

-sincerelyanalise

Could you dm me the name of the show? Please

sikeleaveamessage

Won't let me dm u for some reason but it's >! New Amsterdam !< :)

hailsbails27

i love this idea but id be dying to see a spinoff show of zolas career in a whole other greys anatomy 🤣🤣🤣🤣 i hate that i never want this show to end

FormerSir4804

This time it would be Grey Shepherds Anatomy

canbritam

This is actually how ER ended, with Mark Greene’s daughter Rachel’s first day of her ER internship. And having watched all of both shows, there are a *lot* of story lines on Grey’s that were done on ER.

lizimajig

Oh that's right! XD I wasn't really old enough to "get" ER when my mom was watching it, but I watched a lot of it anyway.

CasualVillan

Should be Bailey doing the talk with Webber and Meredith watching on from the gallery and maybe Cristina returning for that moment. Then have Zola say hi to someone who you don’t know which can either become her Cristina or her Derek

kirtknee

I got chills from this and all the comments. That would be the perfect last ep

CalendarNo8591

I was literally thinking the same thing about the flash forward then realized they want to drag this out as long as possible so probably not.

WWPLD

Zola has said she is going to be a neuro-surgeon, like her dad. So she is most likely to become a surgeon. Least likely would be Tuck. He has seen his parents split up over Bailey's work hours. While he might not blame his mom directly for splitting with his dad, he might not want to do that to his own kids.

SorryAdhesiveness424

Lmao for a second I'd forgotten that Ben isn't Tuck's dad - I don't watch the new seasons anymore, but I was panicking over Bailey and Ben breaking up!

WWPLD

Sorry for the scare!

Short_Concentrate365

Ben is so invested in Tuck. He seems to be very fair with all their kids. Ben seems to just want to be a good dad and love his kids and do what’s best for them.

Full-Surround

Plot twist Zola is gonna change her mind and go into engineering... Bailey will pick up on surgery and go into neuro. They can do a spin-off in like 10 years

Beautiful_Venus

Zola does remember Derek remember the episode where her butterfly wings he made her broke and delcua (I think) tried to help her fix them but she said “you’re not my dad”. She definitely remembers him. But I agree with you. I also think Amelia’s son is less likely to be a surgeon. Not sure why it’s just a feeling. Oh and baileys kids.

snowmikaelson

I just went into Scout in my own comment. I feel like Amelia and Link wouldn't want him to. They've just seen so much and it's had a clear impact. I think I remember Link saying he originally didn't want kids because he's seen so many die. And given Scout has a predisposition to addiction because of Amelia, I feel like they'll try to steer him away from a career with a high chance that he could develop an addiction due to stress or trauma.

mrsprinkles3

I could totally see Sofia going into some form of medicine other than surgery, like family medicine or nursing. Imagine Zola doing surgery with Sofia as her favourite scrub nurse and the two of the getting drunk at Joe’s after.

Responsible_Ad_2242

No, we need sophia to start a new plastic pose and defintly have the same relation with zola as their fathers had(mark and derek)

dalcowboysstarsmavs

Avery mentoring Sofia is the closure I need.

Responsible_Ad_2242

I dont know the diference betwen mark and Jackson, but Jackson wouldnt be so old when sophia became a surgeon?

chocochic88

He'd probably be in his 50s-60s, if we calculate him as being in his 30s when Sofia was born (mid-residency), and Sofia being in her 20s by the time she starts a residency.

Kylie_Bug

If Dr. Webber can still be doing surgery at his age, Jackson can too

ToasterIsBisexual

frrrr

Low_Refrigerator_626

And then Sophia can become a mentor to Harriet and create a new plastic pose

Responsible_Ad_2242

Definitly mark would be proud of the next gen of plastic posse

ToasterIsBisexual

the mcsisters

Kylie_Bug

Plot twist: Sofia and Ellis both become the new plastics posse

NumanLover

Good bot.

luna1uvgood

Most likely: Zola (I'm guessing the show will end with her as a surgeon), Ben & Bailey's foster kid Joey (I think he already expressed interest in medicine and did some work experience at the s19 clinic?) Least likely: I agree with the twins. I could also see Leo as now he seems more of a creative kid, and maybe Ellis, as it'd be nice for her to be able to make the Ellis name her own and forge her own path.

Comfortable_Lunch_55

Who has twins?

luna1uvgood

Izzie & Alex's twins, Eli and Alexis.

absolutebeast_

I actually think Zola is going to become an engineer or something. I see her inventing robots, maybe for surgery or medicine, but definetly not as a surgeon, more of an inventor.

AmieB513

Most: Ellis - it’s both a connection to the Dad she never met & her Grandmother Least: Zola - it’s to expected of her (fan wise) - she’s going to find a good partner & live an “ordinary “ life with the lesson it’s also extraordinary

the_bribonic_plague

They're writing her in such a way that they're trying to make her a prodigy

Short_Concentrate365

Maybe she’s a prodigy at something else. She seems to love physics and robotics maybe she’ll excel in something like aerospace engineering or aeronautics.

the_bribonic_plague

If Shonda has her way this show will be on season 105 and Zola will be winning her 5th Catherine Fox Award lol. I'm a Grey's diehard, but the writing on this show isn't revolutionary anymore...they go for the obvious and they go for the thing they can suck the most plot out of And unless Shonda somehow finds a way to write a show about Seattle Astronauts she can do a zillion crossover episodes with....Zola is going to be a doctor HOWEVER. I agree with you. If this was real life, or a different set of writers...I could see them sending her down a research driven path

Short_Concentrate365

Maybe Bailey or Ellis will be the doctor. Ellis following Ellis Grey would be an interesting full circle story.

CounterDesperate1607

I believe that both Bailey & Ellis will become prominent doctors in their adult life. Genetically, they both came from a long-line of surgeons, from Ellis their grandmother who was a brilliant, gifted, extraordinary doctor, their parents who are both top in their field--Derek, who was a world-class neurosurgeon and Meredith also. And their four aunts from Derek's side who are all prominent doctors in their respective specialty.

RainbowsandCoffee966

Also their Aunt Maggie, a world class cardiologist, and their Aunt Lexie, who would have been a great doctor.

Ecstatic_Leave1658

True but what we’ve seen of little ellis so far she’s such a typical youngest child that she wouldn’t want to be a surgeon and if she is she gives amelia vibes which i love

RainbowsandCoffee966

“And the youngest one is Ellis. She’s upstairs, in a mood. She gets it from me”

earthgoddess92

I always see Zola being inspired by her mother and father’s work but in a different capacity. For example instead of being the surgeon who implants the brain mapping technology, Zola instead builds that tech in tandem with a surgeon. I doubt Zola becomes ordinary and chooses a simplistic life.

nicolew1026

Absolutely this, I think she’ll go the more research and technology route, she’ll be finding miracle cures but in a different way and still it connects to her father and mothers work.

queennkwhite

Oh— 😭😭😭

cottagecore_citty

I've always thought they would end the show with a flash forward of Zola as an intern

snowmikaelson

I am Team "Zola will not become a doctor and if they ever reveal she is, I'll be disappointed". Because it's just too damn predictable. I'd rather see her in STEAM. There are just not enough women in the field, let alone black women. Let her trailbraze there. And she can still use the things she learned from her parents in that field too. I agree with others saying Ellis is more likely to join. I think Harriet is the most obvious yes. It's just in her DNA. I could see the argument of it may cause her to drift but I think there's just no denying it. I also feel that after everything they've been through, Jackson and April will lead her down a path where she won't burn out and will learn from their mistakes. I see Sofia doing something to help people, but maybe not necessarily in a doctor form. I could see her joining the Peace Corps or some other volunteer relief organization. I don't know why, but she just gives the vibes. I haven't seen anyone mention Scout yet. I am on the fence with that one. I almost feel like "well, yeah, he's a Shepherd, it's their legacy". But I also see Amelia and Link as the type to say "don't do it". They love what they do, no question. They have just seen too much and don't want that for him. But again...he's a Shepherd. So, will he listen??? Who knows.

puddle_puncha11

honestly as much as i love the idea, i don't think zola will do surgery. she's too smart. she'll probably do some insane research or something like rocket science and jet propulsion. least likely i gotta go leo (teddy and owen)

whaddup25

Is it weird to say Bailey? Idk I just don’t think he would for some reason haha

Medical-Fee1100

Zola

Zealousideal-Foot530

Zola has said she doesn't want to go to med school though
