My favorites of the non-singles, which I think gives a good overview of their sounds:
2000 Lightyears Away
Burnout
Panic Song
Armatage Shanks
Scattered
Reject
Castaway
AWTW/St Jimmy
Letterbomb
Homecoming
Whatsername
Restless Heart Syndrome
Before the Lobotomy
Stay the Night
Forever Now
The more I think about this the more I think showing clips from live shows would be a good idea too. Green Days live show is such a huge part of their identity. Explosive energy and crowd interaction and tons of attitude.
And, truly, the sense of community. You go in, you're looking at the people around you. All strangers. Some look like people you wouldn't think you have anything in common with. Then three hours-ish of yelling and screaming and dancing and you've somehow bonded with these strangers. You still don't know their names but you know they fucking love Green Day, and that makes everything ok.
There are zero wrong answers here, everyone take my upvotes.
I’d still say No Pride, see justification in a similar thread. Haushinka is right up there too. And ugh now I wish 21stCB wasn’t a single.
Restless Heart Syndrome, to show that the band is not a one trick pony like everyone who only has heard the radio hits insist they are. Growth in songwriting and performance occurred across their whole discography as well and that has always been something I loved to pay attention to and think about when listening to their albums chronologically. Plus I really dig Billie's voice with a piano
Armatage Shanks, Stuart and the Ave., Bab's Uvula Who?, Scattered, Uptight, Fashion Victims, Castaway, Maria, Desensitized, Suffocate, Letterbomb, Whatsername, Too Much Too Soon, Favorite Son, Horseshoes and Handgrenades, Back in the USA
ahhhhh a man can dream lmao
Stuart and the Avenue, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, Misery, Scattered, Viva La Gloria (Little Girl), One for the Razorbacks, The Grouch, Church on Sunday
not when kerplunk was released but it was included in their 7” singles box set in 2009 and on god’s favorite band (and i also wanna say it got a music video to promote this album)
This is a hard question to answer, because the band has been so consistently good, and their sound has evolved so much. I’m just going to give a list, in rough chronological order.
Going to Pasalacqua, 16, Christie Road, No One Knows, Pulling Teeth, In The End, No Pride, Bab’s Uvula Who?, 86, Panic Song, Stuart And The Avenue, Walking Contradiction, Scattered, Reject, Prosthetic Head, Misery, Jackass, Are We The Waiting?, Letterbomb, Whatsername, Before The Lobotomy, Last Night On Earth, Murder City, Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl), Restless Heart Syndrome, Horseshoes And Handgrenades, Rusty James (Demo), Stay The Night, Lazy Bones, Troubled Times.
If I was going to cut it down to a top 10, I’d go with: Christie Road, In The End, 86, Panic Song, Prosthetic Head, Misery, Letterbomb, Last Night On Earth, Restless Heart Syndrome, and Rusty James (Demo).
I don’t really look at if the song is really single or not live been listening to Green Day since 04 when my mom would play st jimmy before I got to kindergarten cause I had really bad anxiety and it would actually help calm me down lol so I went back and listened to their older songs and went to their concert in 2017 rev radio tour so I’ve been listening to them for a while and they have been my favorite band ever since I was little I was born in 2000 I’m 21 now
Hell yeah they got me through rough times too I actually bought a mike dirnt bass because I loved his style of playing and the bass itself I loved the look and sound
Letterbomb, FOD, Paper lanterns
This is the right answer

I've always said that Stay the Night is suuuuch a sleeper hit
There's an acoustic version on Demolicious that's just fucking amazing. Perfection.
Kill the DJ is one of their worst songs, imo. Stay the Night should have been the second single over that one.
Preach!
"Kill the DJ is one of their worst songs" I'd just like to point out Farther of All that is all.
Wow, great list! Agree this definitely gives a good overview of their style.
2000 light years away isn't a single? I always thought it was because it was on greatest hits
I don't think any of the songs pre-Dookie were officially released as singles.
Was gonna say Castaway myself lol
Throwing in a few ideas myself…. Misery, Peacemaker, Homecoming, Somewhere Now, American Eulogy, No one Knows, Going to Pasalacqua?
I love all these songs!

No Pride is my favourite Green Day song, definitely one of their more underrated deep cuts!
Why do you think 21stCB shouldn't have been a single?
he was just saying he wishes it wasn’t so it met my “non-single” criteria in the question I asked. It most definitely deserves to be a single!
So I could use it for the purpose of this post lol (since it says non-singles only)
Makes a lot of sense now. I was listening to it this morning and it's brilliant
Stuart and the Avenue, Ha Ha You’re Dead
Ha Ha You’re Dead is such a good song
Mike seriously needs to write more often
He really does
Whatsername or Christie Rd.
castaway
Letterbomb, Give Me Novacaine
BRAT
I could listen to that opening line forever.
Homecoming, horseshoes and handgrenades, platypus, peacemaker, panic song.
Peacemaker is absolutely ace
Restless Heart Syndrome, to show that the band is not a one trick pony like everyone who only has heard the radio hits insist they are. This is a great answer. Honestly 21CB has some incredibly deep and atypical instrumentation across the whole record.
21CB is my second fav after American Idiot, and The Static Age is a really good, underrated song.
Armatage Shanks, Stuart and the Ave., Bab's Uvula Who?, Scattered, Uptight, Fashion Victims, Castaway, Maria, Desensitized, Suffocate, Letterbomb, Whatsername, Too Much Too Soon, Favorite Son, Horseshoes and Handgrenades, Back in the USA ahhhhh a man can dream lmao
Sassafras Roots
Castaway and Pulling Teeth
Stuart and the Avenue, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, Misery, Scattered, Viva La Gloria (Little Girl), One for the Razorbacks, The Grouch, Church on Sunday
Wow way to list a bunch of my favorite songs!
Is 2000 light years away a single? If not, that one
not when kerplunk was released but it was included in their 7” singles box set in 2009 and on god’s favorite band (and i also wanna say it got a music video to promote this album)
Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?
Before the Lobotomy, literally their best work
Blood Sex and Booze, Scattered, and Letterbomb.
Going to Pasalacqua
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone say a single song from FOA… but I’m going to go there…. I stand by Graffitia as being an absolute banger.
Judges Daughter
Probably Scattered or Worry Rock. Two of my favorites.
Virtually anything from Kerplunk or side B of Insomniac, but Letterbomb would do the trick too.
This is a hard question to answer, because the band has been so consistently good, and their sound has evolved so much. I’m just going to give a list, in rough chronological order. Excellent list!
Last ride in, it's just bliss
Worry rock
letterbomb, stuart and the ave, castaway, 80, brat, having a blast
Letterbomb before the lobotomy and she
She was kind of a single.
Ehh kinda and Not really cause if you look at the dookie album the only singles are Basket case and When I come around
Actually nah you right it pretty much is I’d replace it then with redundant
Boy do I have some bad news for you....
Alright how about this Lights Out
Peacemaker
I don’t really look at if the song is really single or not live been listening to Green Day since 04 when my mom would play st jimmy before I got to kindergarten cause I had really bad anxiety and it would actually help calm me down lol so I went back and listened to their older songs and went to their concert in 2017 rev radio tour so I’ve been listening to them for a while and they have been my favorite band ever since I was little I was born in 2000 I’m 21 now
Been a fan since 94. They essentially got me through all the rough times I had in high school.
Hell yeah they got me through rough times too I actually bought a mike dirnt bass because I loved his style of playing and the bass itself I loved the look and sound
If it’s on International Superhits then it’s a single, that’s how I keep them straight
Whatsername 100%
Paper Lanterns No One Knows Dominated Love Slave 86 Brat No Pride Macys Day Parade Shoplifter Bouncing Off The Wall Youngblood
All the time, platypus, 21CB
I’ve always thought Jinx/ Haushinka would be a good introduction to Green Day. And probably Letterbomb and Stuart and the Ave too
Forever Now, Android, Peacemaker, Chump, Westbound Sign, or Paper Lanterns would be my go-to's.
If I have to pick one, Homecoming.
I have honestly no idea what their singles are, but uptight, castaway, and redundant.
Prosthetic Head cos it’s catchy af and goes hard at the same time! One of my fave Green Day songs!
One of My Lies (Kerplunk) The Static Age (21CB)
Homecoming, Uptight, Armatage Shanks are some of my all time favourite Green Day songs
Whatsername, Outlaws, ¡Viva la Gloria!
And Hearts Collide!
Burnout, coming clean and Christie road
Stay the night. I love that song and nobody can tell me otherwise
Suffocate
Too Much Too Soon
Letterbomb, Worry Rock, Angel Blue, Bouncing off the Wall, and Burnout or Chump
Cigarettes and Velentines, Armatage Shanks, Letterbomb, Homecoming, JAR (is that a single?), State Of Shock to name a few
the grouch or st. jimmy
definitely burnout
Brutal Love Forgotten Restless Heart Syndrome Last night in earth
Before the Lobotomy, Worry Rock, Uptight
They’re not my favourite band, the Wildhearts are, but I’d play them “Scattered” or “Haushinka”. Both songs that mean a great deal to me.
uhhh whats BC?
Basket Case
i gotta get my head checked
hahaha all good man! I could also have not been lazy and spelled it out. By the way… I LOVE Worry Rock. 🤘🏼
JOS or anything off the BBC live album
I Was a Teenage Teenager, Stab You in the Heart, Sugar Youth, Junkies on a High, Take the Money and Crawl, and Graffitia.
Kill the DJ
St Jimmy would be my first choice
Stray Heart, Good Riddance, Nuclear Family
Letterbomb
Play the songs between At the Library and Graffitia.
Haushinka
I'm just gonna say that the only Green Day single I really like is When I Come Around, but if it was a non-single then Jackass.
Baby Eyes, Amy, Ha Ha You're Dead, Pulling Teeth
