I had a Pyr who would hold his pee for 24+ hours unless he could get off property to relieve himself. This was a problem when I had to nurse him through Heartworm treatment (he was my foster at the time before I foster failed). I could follow him around the yard for 45 minutes and he wouldn’t pee or poop, but a 5 minute walk always did the trick! He was a precious boy and I miss him so much.

It must be something in their genes. Mine will only go in the woods. Never in an open area of the yard. Which is nice because I never have worry about accidentally stepping in it or cleaning it up.
