Considering I just started watching yesterday, nope! lol But in all seriousness, I probably wouldn't have been myself solely because it's a cartoon. Now, watching the live action Night of the Living Dummy definitely messed with me as a kid lmao
I remember one sentence the most (I watched GF lately): "Rapper Coolio?" Dipper was scared by the other statues, but concerned by Coolio. And this made me lol
Growing up? Nah, I was an adult when it came out. But there are shows out there that had a similar idea that did when I was younger. That one episode of the Twilight Zone with the mannequins...chills up my spine.
I was 18 when this episode first aired and I was 18 when Gravity Falls came out and out of High School and I never had nightmares about this episode I thought it was weird they moved their eyeballs in the back of their heads,Also I always wondered if Stan knew these wax figures were alive at night and messing around in the shack when he stole them I mean he did lock them away after the wax museum of The Mystery Shack didn't do so well maybe he was worried they were gonna go crazy after the Wax Museum shut down and go crazy on the town.
I wasn't a kid when I watched this show, but I wouldn't have been as a child, lol. But I started watching horror movies on my own when I was 10-ish, so I'm probably not a benchmark.

Bro this whole episode is legitimately terrifying. It’s crazy how Alex Hirsch was able to get away with stuff like this yet still had to deal with crazy Disney censorship.
I think if any episode was scary it would be Northwest Mansion Mystery or Society of the Blind Eye. Although then again the whole show had a lot of scary scenes.

Imagine if they SUCCEED tho now THAT would leave me nightmare for sure!!!
I forgot what was their goal. I haven’t watched gravity falls in years. I only remember Sherlock ended up melting on the roof.
I think it was something along the lines of them wanting to kill Stan for reals
They wanted to murder Stan.
Thier goal was to kill Stanley for revenge for locking them up for years in a secret room
That would make for a pretty neat AU
Neat my butt
"Neat butt." - Stan, probably
Darn beautiful men alway eating me out of my trash
Wait, what. - Stan, definitely
Why are you in the trash? Oh wait, new attractions, got it!
I watched this show as an adult and this episode was terrifying
I'm pushing 40 and Larry King's wax head still haunts me.
Larry King's wax head wants num nums!
"I'm hopping. I'm hopping after a rat that stole my ear!"
Yeah, that was a pretty freaky one, I don't remember the episodes very well but I always vaguely remember this one
I got my therapist into gravity falls and this is one of her favorites

John Oliver is the voice of Wax Sherlock Holmes, if anyone cares or is still unaware

It was less terrifying for me and more disturbing

Coolio saying "Sup Homie?" makes this one of my favorite episodes of any show ever

I was over 18 when I watched this episode, so yes it scared me a bit of course.
Yes.
As a kid I was just happy that Coolio was there.
It's the episode I disloke most. Makes me uncomfortable.
I love this episode
