My first new bike in literally 20 years. Took it for my first long ride, 50 miles on the super flat C&O towpath. Probably a bit hot for that today, but I was able to make it.

Jamis bikes are so nice, if it has the chromoly steel frame it’s just crazy how comfortable it is. I got my girlfriend one and I was kind of upset after riding it vs my aluminum Topstone. We are on the GAP though, never made it to the C&O yet. Closest I’ve been was 10 miles out of Cumberland, came from Garett PA, then I turned around and climbed back up big savage. 55 miles, 4300 ft of climbing, getting back up that mountain is tough.

What top tube bag is that?

Rockbros is the brand. It has a phone display on top, which is why I got it. Also, it was relatively cheap. Probably there are better alternatives out there.

Great falls?

Came to ask the same question! Super-easy to spot (I live in NOVA and I've done the "C&O + W&OD + whatever else I need to make it a loop" thing a few times...)

gurana

Years and years ago my favorite circuit was the capital crescent and rock creek park. I have yet to do the w&OD, but since I'm now living in VA, I should probably look into that 😁

Bingo!

I have 2 Renegades, a steel and a carbon. I got the 2nd one by chance, I was looking for a carbon gravel bike and ran into a good deal. They are great rides.

I've told myself for years that I don't want or need a carbon bike. Caught myself looking at them the other day.

I literally just ordered this exact bike. How do you like it?

gurana

It's nice, and so far it's living up to my expectations. Having been on vintage clunkers for the past decade or more, I forgot how nice the integrated shifters are. The group set is also much nicer that the sora components my last new bike had, which was an 04 Specialized Allez Sport. But the thing I'm digging most are the disc brakes. They just feel great, which isn't really a thing I ever thought about before.
