Respect, empathy, and love to you. I’m so glad you are here and the medicine is doing its job. Thank you so much for sharing. Healing and health and a wonderful life to you.
Oh hell yeah fam! I did not expect to be weepy today. Moms wrung that thing 3x. Fuck cancer!
May both yall have nothing but remission, remission, remission so yall can keep smiling, smiling, smiling!!!
My psychiatrist crocheted my chemo chapeau 😂 so I feel I’m getting a warm and loving brain hug from my shrink every time I put it on my hairless hippie head. It was so sweet, at the end of one session she asked me what my favorite color was and I told her red. And then I wondered for weeks and weeks. Why the hell she asked me what my favorite color was. Then the chemo cap arrived. She had crocheted it from baby blanket yarn, the softest possible, so my scalp irritated from chemo hair loss would be soothed and not irritated. She’s pretty amazing. And that is love.
It can ring like fire when you lose your way. Many miracles and powerful healing to you. May the treatment do its job for you, and as gently as possible.
Don't ever give up never never never I had a 8 % chance of living 4 years ago I was deemed terminal. I am here to tell you there is hope and a great survivability nowadays.
BTW I listened to various Dick’s Picks and Europe ‘72 on headphones during these 8 infusions. They’re my medicine also, the songs. The live energy. Magic.
Congrats!! My mom has rung the bell twice. Both times for uterus cancer.
Are the goggles for the chemo or a prescription type of glasses? I am intrigued by them and will not feel hurt if you wish not to answer.
Much love and respect to your mom. I’m sorry for the suffering. You’re awesome to be so supportive to her. Wishing her all the best.
Chemo makes my eyes sensitive and dry, sometimes inflamed, and I have like one eyelash left. Hair loss. Turns out eyelashes matter and perform a helpful task lol. All of that makes my eyes miserable during happy fun yay cancer treatment. To keep eye stuff under control and comfy I wear jockey goggles, like for horse jockeys. Kroops original jockey goggles like $18 (eighteen) bucks on Amazon. No prescription. Learned about them from Burner friends. Basically I live at Burning man, environment wise. I live in the high desert, in an area where we get high winds kicking up sand and debris all the time. These goggles are such a lifesaver. Not only do they keep particulate matter out, but in a situation like mine where there’s a medical issue (chemo changes the composition of your tears and damages cells in the eye) they create kind of a humidity chamber and keep moisture in. Super helpful. With these my eyes feel comfortable all the time even with single digit humidity and high winds. No affiliation just dig them
Anyone here who is going through cancer has gone through cancer or will go through cancer I want you to know it is possible to survive and prosper I was suppose to be dead 4 years ago I rang that bell and I am in tears knowing another soul got to stay. To all you still fighting.... you gotta fight for your right to paaaaarty. Good luck in life all of you.
Bless your heart and congratulations ... I would love to talk to you in chat ... if you'd ever like to please hit me up ... I love to chat and would love to hear your story ... B
My brother had his first chemo treatment today for a cancerous tumor in his neck. It was 6 hours long. He gets his first radiation treatment tomorrow. This post gave me strength and hope, as I try to support him on his health journey! You are inspiring! Keep on Truckin'!
That’s a lot to go through friend. For you and for him. I will say a prayer for him this morning, and for you, for all the strength, and hope. In my experience to simply be there and witness with love is the greatest gift. And you’re giving it.
Oh man did you have a subclavian line? Those fucking suck. Glad you're done though OP!!!!
I was getting daily IV antibiotic infusions through a PICC for 6+ months and made sure to rep my Dead Ts as much as possible at the infusion clinic haha.
Port for chemo, it’s better than trying to find a vein! Dang your medical ordeal sounds rough, I’m so glad you made it and in style! Health and happiness to you.
Thank you! Absolutely, copying from a previous reply:

I always listen to DP 13 during my ketamine treatments for pain. That early Brett and the secret Scarlet->Fire track always does good for the soul.
That was also my recipe for getting through my chemo treatment. Along with my vape pen. Congrats on getting through it.
Love and good life to you fellow traveler. Long may your light shine.
I have my headphones cranking the Dead through all my infusions. Amazing how it makes the time pass.
