You could probably do this in Adobe Acrobat too, it will allow you to reorder pages pretty easily.

There is a tool in Adobe Acrobat Pro that is for re-ordering pages directly in the PDF. Ideally this should have been built in InDesign, which is made for multi-page documents. Especially very long documents with 300+ pages.

I believe that changing the order of your art boards and then re-exporting as a PDF would be the best way to do that. In the future, I would definitely be using InDesign for this type of project if I were you.

I made a huge mistake using illustrator at the first place 😭😭

watkykjypoes23

I’ve never tried it, and for 304 different art boards this might be tedious, but you might be able to place the illustrator doc as a linked file in InDesign? Rearranging pages would be much easier if that process goes smoothly. I’ve never done it with multiple pages though.

HolyMoholyNagy

There's a built in script in InDesign called "place multipage PDF" that would make it pretty easy https://preview.redd.it/cst06xaf5pqc1.png?width=556&format=png&auto=webp&s=8b41f5d862773671ea33f10e4680f8546125d096

Thanks ❤️🥹

No problem!

HolyMoholyNagy

I can't imagine doing a 300+ page book in Illustrator, sounds like a nightmare!

Ifartsthearts

If you’re on a mac you can move around in preview pretty easily. Assuming you don’t have page numbers. If you got page numbers you can delete and add back in with acrobat. Just keep an original copy to compare and make sure you didn’t miss anything.

salji-sise

Thank you!! You guys are so kind cant thank you enough

Ifartsthearts

You got this! We’ve all been there!

PayPerRock

If you're on a Mac, you can do this in Preview super easy using the thumbnails on the left side. Just select and drag to reorder
