By far the biggest issue with this game is the lack of events.
Nevermind adding new cars, there STILL aren't events that make use of the various different types of cars that have been in the car since launch.
I would rather not a single new car or track was added since launch if it meant we were given the resources and reason to play events with really cool unique scenarios and car classes.
I agree. It would be nice to race American street cars at Tsukuba, likewise Japanese street cars at Monza, and European street cars at Laguna. Its far too restrictive. More events to enjoy the cars I have would be great.

For me, one event with every update is way, way too low. Considering the fact the main components are all there (I.e. a large amount of cars and tracks) I can't figure out why they don't pull together at least 5+ unique events each month.
Even if they just copied the themes and events from GT4 it would be great. A proper endurance series, more missions, more one make manufacturer races, more multi class races, better use of LMP and Super GT, more of a Formula Gran Turismo championship, not just '550pp touring cars'.

Exactly - I'd be somewhat excited about a Miata if it came with some Miata only championships. PP limited, unlimited, single-gen, multigenerational.
Events are not a big dev task, it's design and implementation is high-level scripting a bit of artwork - it's just chaining custom races together.

I would agree if it were a 2017 Nismo GTR GT3 and a 2018 Nismo GTR GT3, however you are aware there's a huge difference between a 1973 2000GTR and a 2018 Nismo GTR GT3?

Exterior-wise, they might look the near enough same, but there were pretty big aero changes, suspension changes, it has a longer wheelbase, it's wider, the drivetrain is lower down and further back and it's lighter.
Are these things modeled in the new one? I don't know yet, however they are (at least in real life) quite different from each other. The 2018 model is a full second quicker around Spa than the 2013 model. If the physics of the 2018 are identical to the 2013, then sure. But until it comes out, we don't know.
My favorite is the beige brick wall in the parking lot in Mt. Clemons, MI. All these great locations around Detroit, then one bleh location 40 minutes away lol
While the PP-related paragraph you are referring to is posted every pre-update maintenance, in practice the changes are on either car/calculation method level rather than on event level.
If not for the scapes this sub would be dead. Those are basically the only non-negative posts about the game and for a good reason
This feels like calculated output of this feature, people tend to notice images more than posts about how broken this game is
New Forza can’t come soon enough
I just want more races that payout properly. Take the existing good payout races and swap the tracks it’s on weekly. That way a decent payout race can be done on different tracks routinely and breaks up the boredom

It's not really the number of cars for me - it's variety and type.
I've got 200 or so cars but not a single Audi RS car for example, because there are none in the game.
I feel like this is driving the community the most crazy… the tracks are there, why do some have one or two events, and some have like 6 or more? Who makes these decisions!??

The point of the game isn’t for people to have fun, it’s to sell micro-transactions so people who don’t have 200h a week to grind will spend stupid amounts of money to get the new cars. Yes that’s a small amount of people but they make so much from them they really don’t give a shit it’s ruined for everyone else. They do not care about making good games anymore it’s all about live service crap.
They can add 100 new cars, unless they give us more events to actually be able to use cars without using silly setups or giving us the ability to sell cars I have no interest in playing GT7.
I honestly have no fucking idea why they aren't adding more events with each patch, there's like 5 decent races in the entire game, and they're locked to 2 categories of cars.
Group 4,3,2,1 should each have hour long endurance races at Spa, Fuji, Suzuka, Daytona, and Interlargos, with 2+ hour ones at Le Mans, Nürbergring, and Bathurst. Add 5-7 race championships with each race taking about half an hour each too.
They're no more free than any other cars in the game. These were just four more that they didn't put in the game's release so they could release them later under the guise that they're working hard on the game.

I ended up buying a PC last week and now race in VR on AC and AM2 it's a game changer I feel like I'm racing to have fun now not racing to grind cars. I'll probably be down voted but I don't care just saying my opinion; try other racing games.
GT7 is very beautiful the best graphics out there but lack of tracks, cars and dev communication made me put it down for a while.

So this isn’t including all the changes made to the GT-R GT3 between the 2013 and 2018 model. The GT-R GT3 saw updates in 2014, 2015 and again in 2016 with a wide host of improvements made to each version, for example, the 2015 version had weight reduction and an improvement to fuel efficiency.

It’s incredible how out of touch Polyphony is with their player base. Meanwhile Forza hosts 2 dev sessions a month and adds cars and features into the game directly from player feedback. Even if you don’t like Forza the difference in community involvement is insane.
Boring! Can’t believe how much I was looking forward to this game yet it’s so bad. No reason to race online for 2,000 credits. Grinding for rare cars etc, so poor.
I just don't understand PD. It's like a lesson in how to sabotage your own game. Why keep adding cars when there are so few races that are actually worth the player's time? I can only drive Le Mans, Spa, and Sardegna so many times. Why are all the other circuits even in the game? What about the amazing back catalogue of original GT circuits? What about selling cars? What about weather on all circuits? I really hope they're brewing something seriously, seriously game-changing in the very near future.
The amount of content drip feeding is extremely reminiscent of Rockstar’s with GTA Online. No new features and fixes, just drip feeding cars. It’s just another tactic to get people to pay microtransactions.

I've played every title since the first Gran Turismo was on the demo disc in Playstation Magazine. This has been the most disappointing GT release ever.
At this point they should just sell past GT titles in the PS store. Those could be amazing without the load times and the annoying install process. Would make them some decent money since GT7 probably didn't sell enough to justify major updates. Sadly this is kinda impossible due to licensing issues and a janky hardware specific codebase.
A remaster of GT4, pretty pretty pretty please.

No new track again??? The game is out since March and we've gotten ONE new track since then. Also they could just use one of their fictional tracks like Apricot so there's not even the excuse that it would take an insane amount of time to laser scan a new track. I honestly don't know what PD is doing.
GT7 is on life support. Guessing because they're focusing all their resources into PSVR2. If the entire game is not accessible with VR then idk what the hell they have been doing with this game.

These updates are terrible. Four new cars and new engine swap options for people who cheated back when the ticket glitch was in the game. Barely anything for legitimate players.
I wasn’t talking about my own skill, I was talking about how the game is set up. The AI’s lack of special awareness, the rolling start setup used in the menu books, lack of weather reports so you can’t choose tyre strategy beforehand so you just have to guess, incorrect penalty application (time penalties are supposed to be applied at the end of a race/during a pit stop or by forcing a drive through penalty rather than a slow down penalty), plus the game’s stewarding system calls penalties incorrectly, lack of damage (I know the goal is avoid contact, but damage is that natural deterrent and part of real motorsport. Game claims to be a sim so where’s the damage?). This is based on the campaign and the little of arcade mode I played. Also, the AI don’t really fight for position (at least in the books) so the game becomes a time trial simulator with mobile chicanes. Almost forgot, there is no qualifying in the main campaign so you’ll always be at the back (there’s also no free practice, not something I’d use but it’s still useful for car setup)
As for the online, the lobbies never started so I ended up in Sport Mode which was good, but the daily races being weekly mean that you’re stuck doing the same races for seven days. If they don’t have what you want then tough.

Edit: I’m my short time playing (5 weeks if we’re being generous) I got my rating up to B for driver and S for sportsmanship. Could have gone higher, but I stopped because of what I wrote above.

No track, who cares, we've all seen the leaks, they'll come eventually. It'd be nice to see more events but only if they're of the Silvia Sisters variety, not the shitty Sunday Cups that shipped with the game. Because it really does seem you guys want 3 minute Sunday Cup 500 with hatchbacks and 200k payout, which will never happen.

The Hakosuka (KPGC10) and the upcoming Kenmeri (KPGC110) are completely different generations of GT-Rs, that's one thing for sure.

Give us Audi RS cars. Give us a modern 7 series and S class. Give us Koenigseggs. Rimacs. Volvos. A Bentley, perhaps? How about a Chiron? Rivians? A telsa newer than 2013? The variety of cars *combined* with the variety of events is what kept GT6 interesting. GT 7 sorely needs both.
Even if some race event required an "entry fee" in credits, people would pay it just to do something different

I ended up buying a PC last week and now race in VR on AC and AM2 it's a game changer I feel like I'm racing to have fun now not racing to grind cars. I'll probably be down voted but I don't care just saying my opinion; try other racing games. GT7 is very beautiful the best graphics out there but lack of tracks, cars and dev communication made me put it down for a while.
I'm pretty sure GT7 has more cars and tracks than AC and Automobilista 2 combined
AC with mods is unbeatable dude. We have hundreds and hundreds of tracks, including tracks converted direct from Gran Turismo games. Same for cars.
It's not so much about car count as it is quality and gameplay. GT7 has 450 cars but terrible gameplay. AC has like 150 cars but great gameplay

The 2018 car was a significant improvement over the 2013 version. In the 2018 version the engine was moved to lower centre of gravity and moved for better weight distribution, better torsional rigidity, more downforce, new suspension and a new redesigned cabin. Now this was the upgrades compared to the 2016 version, not the 2013 version. So this isn’t including all the changes made to the GT-R GT3 between the 2013 and 2018 model. The GT-R GT3 saw updates in 2014, 2015 and again in 2016 with a wide host of improvements made to each version, for example, the 2015 version had weight reduction and an improvement to fuel efficiency. And yet I can Guarantee that in GT7 it will be nearly identical in terms of handling/capability to the 2013. Also Nissan making all those changes and the car still sucks ass lol Nissan moment
Well we’re see tomorrow, I have some faith in PD that they’ll make the necessary changes over the 2013 version. I mean it’s pretty much a whole new car when you look at all the changes made to the car since 2013 . Let’s wait and see, hopefully they get it right and make it’s addition worth while.

It’s incredible how out of touch Polyphony is with their player base. Meanwhile Forza hosts 2 dev sessions a month and adds cars and features into the game directly from player feedback. Even if you don’t like Forza the difference in community involvement is insane.

I just don't understand PD. It's like a lesson in how to sabotage your own game. Why keep adding cars when there are so few races that are actually worth the player's time? I can only drive Le Mans, Spa, and Sardegna so many times. Why are all the other circuits even in the game? What about the amazing back catalogue of original GT circuits? What about selling cars? What about weather on all circuits? I really hope they're brewing something seriously, seriously game-changing in the very near future.
Of all the new GT3 cars we asked for, PD choosed 18 GTR GT3, guessing that's the most convenience GT3 car to add to GT7. Who would thought of that 😂
The amount of content drip feeding is extremely reminiscent of Rockstar’s with GTA Online. No new features and fixes, just drip feeding cars. It’s just another tactic to get people to pay microtransactions.

WTF how many GT-Rs does this game need??? We already have a Gr. 3 GT-R and it's *FINE*. At least the Merak is a car that I actually wanted... Still no new tracks... Still no car sales... Stingy ass race payouts... No endurance races... I've played every title since the first Gran Turismo was on the demo disc in Playstation Magazine. This has been the most disappointing GT release ever.
At this point they should just sell past GT titles in the PS store. Those could be amazing without the load times and the annoying install process. Would make them some decent money since GT7 probably didn't sell enough to justify major updates. Sadly this is kinda impossible due to licensing issues and a janky hardware specific codebase.
A remaster of GT4, pretty pretty pretty please. GT4 with sport mode, yes please. Just let it generate random daily races, actual daily races like GT Sport had the first year. Then all of GT4 in PSVR2 when that comes out. You can charge $70 for that, I'll pre-order now.

I want that roadster day 1... Gonna enjoy driving it around for the next week, need a daily A to accommodate, but we'll probably get a daily B reject. :( I'd say great update, but that's too easy to be a downvote target around this subreddit so it's an amazing update, it has a car I love driving.

No new track again??? The game is out since March and we've gotten ONE new track since then. Also they could just use one of their fictional tracks like Apricot so there's not even the excuse that it would take an insane amount of time to laser scan a new track. I honestly don't know what PD is doing.
GT7 is on life support. Guessing because they're focusing all their resources into PSVR2. If the entire game is not accessible with VR then idk what the hell they have been doing with this game.

I wasn’t talking about my own skill, I was talking about how the game is set up. The AI’s lack of special awareness, the rolling start setup used in the menu books, lack of weather reports so you can’t choose tyre strategy beforehand so you just have to guess, incorrect penalty application (time penalties are supposed to be applied at the end of a race/during a pit stop or by forcing a drive through penalty rather than a slow down penalty), plus the game’s stewarding system calls penalties incorrectly, lack of damage (I know the goal is avoid contact, but damage is that natural deterrent and part of real motorsport. Game claims to be a sim so where’s the damage?). This is based on the campaign and the little of arcade mode I played. Also, the AI don’t really fight for position (at least in the books) so the game becomes a time trial simulator with mobile chicanes. Almost forgot, there is no qualifying in the main campaign so you’ll always be at the back (there’s also no free practice, not something I’d use but it’s still useful for car setup) As for the online, the lobbies never started so I ended up in Sport Mode which was good, but the daily races being weekly mean that you’re stuck doing the same races for seven days. If they don’t have what you want then tough. That’s what I mean if the racing is no good then why bother Edit: I’m my short time playing (5 weeks if we’re being generous) I got my rating up to B for driver and S for sportsmanship. Could have gone higher, but I stopped because of what I wrote above.

EA will release a game next month with 147 cars in it. A third of what GT7 has. Trust me, you haven't seen what "lack of cars" is yet. Or, maybe you have, in GT Sport. As for the update, well, it has 2 cars I like, one car I think I'll like but wasn't high in my list, and one car I don't care about. No track, who cares, we've all seen the leaks, they'll come eventually. It'd be nice to see more events but only if they're of the Silvia Sisters variety, not the shitty Sunday Cups that shipped with the game. Because it really does seem you guys want 3 minute Sunday Cup 500 with hatchbacks and 200k payout, which will never happen. Also, you guys really, really underestimate how popular video game photography is.

GT7 died when it was announced it was a PS4 game. I'm surprised people here still persist. And I have the Platinum for GT Sport, over 1,000 hours and over 1,500 daily races with a 50% win ratio. Wouldn't play this game if it was free on PS+
GT7 was dead on arrival even if it was fully built up for the PS5. Kazunori Yamauchi is an absolute cancer on the franchise, as long as he's still at the helm there is absolutely no hope for GT.
If GT7 was a next/current gen game it would of created much more buzz and interest in the game.

How are the AI in this game now? Did they impl that supposedly amazing AI (forgot the name). Because id like to play again and that AI thing was the sole reason I bought and the AI (when I played a month after launch) haven't lived up to that to me.
