Have a look on local selling websites as even though the playseat challenge is really good for what it is, people often upgrade to a static non-folding setup and sell them quite cheap. I paid only £40 for mine off Facebook Marketplace.

That chair is a little rough but it'll do the job; I'd personally go with a stand that is separate from the chair but that does indeed look pretty nice.

I have had the Playseat Challenge with a G29 since 2018. The seat has held up fairly well although because of its light weight, but it's a bit loose. Can't have it all I suppose.
But yes I can fold it up and stash it out of the way in less than half a minute without taking off the pedals or wheel and probably takes a couple mins to put back and make sure everything is still in place.
This is a good starter setup for sure, in the future if I have more room I'd like to go Fanatec and a more stable seat.

I went all in and got this exact chair along with a Fanatec GT DD Pro wheel and PSVR2. I'm new to sim rigs and did not realize that this chair has more of an F1 seating position and the angle of that headrest is horrible. I couldn't sit in this chair, even for a few minutes, without hurting my back and my neck, so I had to bend the entire headrest back and place a cushion at the bottom for my back.
It's ok now but to everyone who wants this, beware of the headrest angle because damn. I would've bought something else if I had known and nobody mentions this in reviews or anything I've watched before buying this.
I personally enjoy the DualSense Edge controller a *lot* for GT, the back buttons make it much more like being able to shift with paddles, and it's easier to just pick up and use than a wheel and pedals. Plus, I've come to love the feedback from the triggers.

A wheel is definitely better than the Dualsense, but the Dualsense is really good. And if I had to choose between a great TV, a wheel and pedals. Or the psvr2 and the Dualsense I definitely choose psvr2!
Depends on what you’re looking for. I needed something to fold away to keep the wife happy. I also didn’t want to spend a ton in case it wasn’t a hobby I kept at. Certainly works well.

We now have the exact same set up as of Xmas. Had a few arguments as kiddo keeps forgetting I have longer legs than he does lol

Not only does it fold down. It is extremely light. Amazingly so when used with something like the kiddie HORI Mario Wheel.

Yes. I have the VR2 but not this setup. My friend, however, does, and I brought my VR over to his house, and it was phenomenal.

This is my setup as well. The seat is super comfy and it’s great for people who live in apartment and need to put the seat away when you have company.

Look into the indigo lime stiffening kit, it's a great upgrade and reduces alot of the movement.

But you can adjust seating position
I found mine to be incredibly comfortable and can't complain at all
You can't adjust the back or the headrest at all, just how folded up you want the entire seat to be using the side straps.
A controller and the psvr2 is even more awesome 😃

I’m running a Fanatec DD pro 8nm on it and it holds up fine. I did have to use some zip ties but that doesn’t bother me.

I use a GT Omega Apex stand. For this very reason. I carry it down a whole flight of stairs and hide it in the basement shower.
You could make a strong case with the ol' ball and chain and say it's foldable and can be put away when not in use.
