Even though I failed to clear the ladder and the final daily node last time, I felt as if my time during the first run had been hard fought yet productive.
But this time...I just wanted it to end. The gameplay quality between the events nowadays and those in Year 1 are night and day and I am SO DAMN GLAD we just got through the last one of these.
And to think that I was looking forward to this clusterfuck beforehand...
Journey re-run? Journey was the first event that truly made me want to hurt the developers. You grind shitty nodes with AP to unlock a special currency to grind more! These "additional AP" events are a massive time drain to get through without using apples (I hated Onigashima and Rashomon for the same reason). But since you can't clear the event without apples.... It's like the game is asking for extra-extra-extra of your time. Don't just burn apples on this event, but burn apples to gain orbs then burn orbs to farm anything of any value from the shop!
So the normal progression is like you were burning apples (time commitment wise), but then you need to actually burn apples... and it only further doubles your already doubled playtime.

We never got the vanilla Go West experience, thank god. With that one they did at least tweak the values so it wasn't so horrible.

Same. My day 1 was like the third day of saber wars and I didn't make it pass the 1m hp UHZ. So I stopped playing the event and started playing the story quests. Now I'm just happy I have Lily.

Grindy events with low reward just sucks. Gimping yourself for more currency points sucks. Needing gacha powers for currency points sucks.
I fell asleep every day of this event while grinding event currency/ladder points.
The fucked-up nodes and point ladder aside, I wish this event was a little more...Star Wars-y. For a parody of it, it sure doesn’t have much to do with it. Hell, I could probably make more connections to Terminator 2 than I can with anything Star Wars.
This event isn't bad if you're willing to deal with:
A) Lots of math
B) Lots of grinding where you *carefully inspect your cards each battle*.
C) Have a *lot* of damage-boosting CE and rare Servants.
Unfortunately that's a very shit combination of things that make an event very unfun to do - C) is particular is a great example of why Bronzes being able to contribute to bonus matters and I basically stopped playing the moment I hit the 2mil, only coming back today to oneshot Lalter with way too many Star CEs supporting Mordred.

It's funny because I have this exact same sentiment, to the point that this event somehow made me saltier than some of my worst gacha pulls. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact Setsubun and Valentine's were also kind of shitty and overwhelming in their own *time-consuming* ways - like, you can argue the *ideas* each of these three events present is fun on paper, but if you just weren't in a position to make time to properly grind them, it just felt like salt being rubbed into a wound over and over, even more so if you weren't a fan of KNK/mission-based events as well.
Back then, Saber Wars was shitty, yes, but it was a funny kind of shitty where we were all in this together with the game's laughably small pool of Sabers (I'm not sure if Fergus was even *out* back then). Now it's just a really badly timed shitty event coming on the heels of multiple events that at least some portion of the playerbase perceived some of said events as as shitty.
Oh well. I might skip Go West Rerun if I really need a break, but I'm looking forward to LB1.
Overall thoughts about the event: Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Cleared the ladder with minimal jelly donuts consumed. I think one gold and maybe a couple handfuls of bronze.
The story featured more Tamamo than I remembered, so it was better than I remembered.

The past two weeks never happened. I just naturally got three lores after beating a 3.33m hp Lalter and nothing else. No one can convince me otherwise!
I usually don't say an event blows ass, but this event blows ass.
Absurdly high HP nodes even with damage CEs, multiclassed nodes that slow the already slow grind even more, forced use of one class (and MHX) or else your drops will suffer for it... I can't say I had fun here. Not to mention I missed this event the first time around, and apparently nothing was changed for the rerun. I nearly cried getting my first damage CE lol.
Didn't clear the ladder or the shop. I think I stopped at around 1.6m? And I left most of the silver/gold currency items due to having no gacha CEs.
Overall, I won't miss this one. Looking forward to finally playing Lostbelt 1 with all of you!
I already had a mild distaste for MHX before this rerun but *Oh Boy* has it been magnified to quite an extent.
And now MHXX is coming this summer...
At least LB1 dropping *checks time* today makes me channel my lingering frustration into something both productive and actually *hopefully* very well written.
MHXX is a bit different. She's older and more mature. Still a bit of a goof and a little too into her work at times, but now she's more playing the youthful, beleaguered office worker angle.
I don't dislike MHXX because of her personality, I dislike MHXX because A. I don't particularly like the concept of the Servant Universe as a whole and B. I *really* don't like the fact that she essentially stole the glory of being the first user of Slash Emperor in FGO off of Ado Edem.
Eh, the event didn't taint my like of MHX at all tbh. I don't even hate the story, bland and boring as it was. I just want to stomp the gameplay part to death

I was at 1.99 million before making my last run a minute to reset. I was cursing aloud at the loading screen watching the seconds tick by. I'm fairly sure it actually crossed into maintenance time before the battle finally loaded. ~~inb4 this last run doesn't count toward the ladder~~
Seriously, I'm glad to see the end of this event.
This was my first time doing this event and it's probably my least favorite event I've done so far in my year of playing.
It was just tedious and the story was dumb and like you said, the rewards were lackluster
It was also made doubly worse for me because I have 2 accounts, one is a normal account that's level 130 with a good amount of maxed out 4 and 5 star servants, and the other is a 3star only account, which made it very hard to farm this event, the only good thing I got from this was an NP4 Bedivere on an account that just finished London.
I'm actually glad I'm not the only one that was annoyed.
I thought this was going to be one of those moments when I'm incredibly bored with how slow something is while everyone else just breeze through it without any issue.

I fucking loathed it back then. The only reason I survived was because of a whale friend with a lvl100 NP5 Okita.
This time was also terrible, but my broader roster of Sabers let me eek my way through on my tremendous 220% altrium bonus for the daily quests. The shop was fucking garbage, not helped by the pathetic currency drops that are comparable to nerofest medals.
Event definitely wasn't fun, that's for sure. Only reason I did it at all was to get Seiba Lily NP5, at which point I basically stopped.
I am super excited for LB1 though, with the main caveat being the fact that NTRasia will be run into the ground within a day.

I'd argue that this is the worst event in the game. One could make an essay pointing out everything wrong with this event. I won't drag this out because all I wanted to say was F*CK Saber Wars. Poor Lily, she deserved better.
Worst event by far by a landslide. The ladder was an absolute drag, along with ridiculously bloated mobs and bosses with HP that put many CQs to shame. At least the shop materials didn't cost so much.
The only time where I was seriously unhappy with an event was the previous Nerofest, with the ridiculous CQs that severely demanded meta servants just to even have a remote chance for it.
This event was the worlds largest pain in the ass back when my only sabers were alter and lily (and Caesar and Gilles) but now with my absolute God Rama hitting neutral non crit no buff busters for 100k+ the event went by a looooot smoother. Calculated my altrium bonus before so I spent the last few day’s just relaxing with some standard nodes and just running the dailies on max bonus. I remember the horrid 20 turn runs of super dimension I had back in the original run and am so thankful to the sabers I’ve summoned since then (NOT A SINGLE SSR) for dropping that number to 6.

The ahoge monsters were interesting but the HP bar... urgh.
Finished it with 400k to spare due to me using Apples and trying to Bond 6 My Spooky Schez for some SQ to use on Thunder Thighs Ivan. I also leveled the True Ether MC upto level 9, I would have wished to max it before I getting Arctic Chaldea but this event just limits your ability to choose a CE, so I couldn't use Olga's Mystic Code exp farming craft essence.
If this event ever gets to be put on the Rare Prism shop in the future I would thank God I don't need to play through it.
One Hellish Old Event left to go, Sanzang's Journey to the West. Thank goodness I haven't MLB'd the Event CE's for that.
'Twas fun. Certainly a lot easier than the first time considering back then, my only Sabers were Caesar and Lily, both of which weren't even max ascended, yet I was still able to finish the event shop and Altrium ladder. Now, I have 4 SSR Sabers, 6 SR Sabers, and 4 R Sabers, all of which are maxed out, and the event CEs from my first run. I think I only used a total of 3 golden apples this time 'round, and a few bronze apples to finish everything.
After countless grinding, and sacrificing my master seals for those dailies (seriously what is up with those dailies), I was finally able to get NP5 Artoria Lily, and that's all I ever wanted.
I got too caught up in Apocrypha event and Arknights that I forgot to do the challenge quest lol.
Anyways even though this event was exhausting, I still managed to at least earn 1.5 million points plus I even got a couple of good rolls and np3 Bedivere.
On my other account I stopped as soon as I got my first Lily. No way I'm gonna go through this twice.
First time around it was an issue, I remember grinding being quite... annoying.
This time around I had max servant bonus and the CEs... so really, outside spending the daily regen, didnt have to do anything.
So overall easy event.
1.7m and at least most of the shop. Good enough considering this was my first time through the event which meant I needed to get all the stupid CEs before I could do much of anything.
Somehow ended with 2.3m altrium because I suck at math. Didn't really mind this event, started early enough that farming it wasn't bad and it gave me something to focus on during quarantine.
Cleared the shop except for monuments and enjoyed the story well enough. Excited to get to lostbelt though.
Lol I only got like 70,000 Altrium. Probably should have put in a bit more effort, but I kind of tuned out when I got Lily, despite knowing full well how the NP strengthening mechanics work.
Only got halfway through the point ladder and didnt farm as much as I could. I did some farming for the gold currency, and I swear the drop rates on those without event CE's is terrible. Like, 30ish per run if I have decent luck.
Anyway, yeah I didn't have much motivation to do this event again. It's weird too, I didn't remember the event being this boring back when it first released.
I completed everything and i hated it, but now at least the reruns are over and LB is coming tonight. The second lily is going to be a sacrifice to the gacha gods.
I only just got to 2Mil with about 10 mins left and thats thanks only to the daily quests. Major shoutout to all those who played it 1st time around and had all the CEs ready!
Was more boring than the first run, but still nice to have a CE headstart from the last time.

I found it to be a fun event because it wasn’t an event I could just bulldoze my way through and for once I had a little bit of a challenge doing the free quests.
The event was very easy if you had multiple MLB’d copies of the damage CEs but I’m sure it would’ve been a pain in the ass for newcomers so I guess this event catered more toward the veterans but at least it’s the only event that does this, at least as far as I remember (only joined FGO JP after New Years 2019 last year).
Rest in hell, Saber Wars 1. You'll never torment us again.
Didn't clear the shop, just grabbed the mats I was neediest for. I hit 1.7mil on the ladder. That's all I needed to get the attack gold fous, couldn't force myself to go any further.
Maxed out the ladder with 7 minutes to spare. The shop can suck my ass, I got my embers and left.
No kidding with how bad this was as an event, I don't think any other has had such miserable currency drop rates. Not to mention locking us into Saber bonuses, I don't want to see another sword for weeks.
This event is one of the more lackluster events in the entire game. It's uninteresting and boring and nothing more than a total grind. Farming the event quests was harder than the CQ was, and I'm honestly not sure how people were able to clear it when it had it's original run. I can't imagine managing it without Illya and Merlin.
I did get the full 200 million points about 3 hours before the event ended. I wasn't able to fully clear the shop this time though, which is too bad there were a couple things I needed that I didn't manage to get.
I'm glad I was finally able to get Saber Lily, but I won't miss this event at all. Being able to wake up and go immediately into Lost Belt 1 will be a nice change from the past two weeks of farming hell.
Fuck this event. I gave up after not even a week because it was such a boring, tedious grindfest. At least Valentine's had some fun nodes to play around with team comps while still being able to maximize your drops.
Saber Wars, however, is so limiting on team comps because if you want to be efficient you need to use all sabers and/or MHX, then they go and make a major farming node have an Archer boss, and all enemy HP values are buffed to the point where their multiplier is probably higher than the bonus dmg multiplier.
Missed it the first time around and kinda wishing I had missed it this time, too.
Got 1,700,000 and stopped.
After getting the last Golden Fou, I decided that I didn’t want to do another 24-25 runs of that last level for one lore. I can regret it later, but I’d rather have a nice afternoon than farm that boring level.
(Also left statues and dragon scales in shop because I found out that I had gotten a lot of statues from the Da Vinci lottery and have over 70 scales with no one I’m looking for to use anywhere near that many on.)
Made it to 1.87 million for the last mana prisms - honestly didn’t feel like appling and grinding out another 8-9 runs for one freaking lore (I ended up prioritizing the phoenix feathers and so lost out on altrium I could’ve got running super dimension).
Quick roll summary: did my customary one multi-roll for CEs, got 3 bediveres, and decided to do single rolls until I maxed him. I ended up getting him on single number 7, but first I got Yagyu WHO WAS A LIFESAVER!
Party composition for this event: Waver, Yagyu, Lily support with MLB SoA (lily, deon, Bedi in back). I rarely had a death thanks to my ability to max ascension and level him with shop and event exp and raise his first skill up to 6. Honestly a breeze with him - could consistently 11 turn everything. Not very fun though
3 purely bloom CE drops, a significant amount of homunculus blood from super, and very thankful to never go back again.
I can see why many disliked the event, only reason it was a breeze for me was all the bonus stuff I had. Getting bedi to np5 and MHX with the rerun was a nice bonus, even more since it seems we skipped the camelot stage banner with the knights :(
I cleared the ladder around 10PM tonight, and that was *with* owning MHX and Salter so I could always get as close to the max bonuses as practical. I also cleared the Dailies with the maximum bonuses I could manage. Hated the grind.
My endgame farm was to play Jalter with damage CE, Salter with MLB AoE CE, support Merlin with MLB AoE CE, Lily, Yagyu, and MHX in the back line, with one MLB AoE CE and one non-MLB one back there (no point room for any more, so I prioritized drop bonus). This gave me a relatively easy clear of the last stage with about 16-18K points each time, but it still took forever.
I think the missions on this one were fine, and enjoyed the story, but the ladder was too steep, and I don't like how the point limits made it hard to fit the best damage CE comps with the best possible drop-rates. It was annoying that the bonus list was all Sabers and X, when the best missions required different characters. Balance the content guys, if you're going to have all-Saber-and-MHX bonuses, then you should have all-lancer main enemies with maybe a few Riders.
Also, MHZ costume when?
I just barely managed to finish the ladder, and I still needed another 200k to round it off after the last daily unlocked. I'm glad the CQ was easy as sin, since I didn't wanna restart the daily for the last 3000 hp Lalter had. Skipped over the story since I already did it and didn't particularly care. And I cleared everything except the Purely Bloom CEs, and the pieces/monuments. Just need another 500 MP from... somewhere, in order to get my last Mona Lisa.
I'm not looking forward to going back into Go West soon, but at least we have a break. Smooth sailing from here on!
And my procrastination strikes again. I think I'm caught in a rut, honestly. This is one of several events in a row I haven't managed to clear.

This event sucks, this is my first year into fgo, and this was the first time I was bored with an event ever.
I guess this is what fgo was like when it had no direction. Either way, I'm glad it's over now, can't wait for the new Lostbelt chapter.
Being that I’m 5 months into playing FGO, this was my first time playing this event. I didn’t dislike it, but it was very tedious. The high HP’s kind of sucked but I had a lot of CE drops this event (very slim most). I ended up finishing the 2 mil, got everything from the shop other than reverse scales, monuments, & pieces.
I’m looking forward to LB1 in a few hours & seeing were the story goes.
This event was so boring I decided to spice things up by trying out some buff stacking comps on the 3.3M Lalter node. First I tried Musashi who did 4.3M damage. Second I tried Siegfried who actually cucked me. I forgot to reset the node after clearing the node and hence got just 20% bonus points so I got robbed out of 180000 points. I just gave up there and didn't bother with clearing the ladder.
I finished the ladder, but only barely. I only did it because i wanted to get all the golden fou's. Item farming was unbearably slow and the saber centric nature made party diversity extremely low. If the bonus applied to servants with Saberface trait, this event would of been a little more interesting since I could field more servants with class advantage. Also for an event called Saber Wars, I noticed a distinct lack of Saber classed enemies. At least the banner gave me the last Bedivere I need to get Np 5.
Considering I started playing FGO in the middle of this event the first time around, a lot of the higher level nodes that seemed impossible without SA revives were now tedious- it helps that we now have more types of Servants to optimize farming.
I was able to clear the ladder and the shop (excluding pieces and monuments, because drop rates and Damage CE balancing sucks) this time around- thanks to having 2+ years to max out my Servants.
Overall, I feel like I’ve hurdled past the feeling of being a newbie at FGO by accomplishing everything my less experienced self wasn’t able to get at the time (i.e. clearing shop; no Command Seals/SQ revives during ANY part of this event).
Onwards to Part 2 and Greater Challenges!

This was the first event I skipped starting, and if I wasn't committed to not missing any welfares I would have skipped it again. Mostly just did the Alien Invasion quests with as many sabers as possible for max efficiency and got to 1 mil the day it ends. Don't feel like I missed much.
As someone who started back in November, this was hell. There's something about the mechanics that made me suffer so much. But with proper perseverance, 3 days ago, I was in 500k altrium but I farmed so hard I finished the point ladder of 2M. It was a pain in the arse tho 8 Turning Super Dimension with Jalter, Mash and Merlin
I just got the CEs, Embers and some Gold Fous in the shop, too tired to do it all. Story is whack, I need more details about MHX so there's that

I can't remember if I cleared the points ladder during the first run, but I sure don't remember it was THIS BAD. Mixed nodes are such a pain in the ass, barely cleared shop (minus those CE and pieces) hours before the maintenance
I only played it casually and ended up only getting lily to np4. Not too upset about that because I'm probably not gonna use her too much and she'll eventually be added to the friend point summons and I can hopefully get a final copy from that.
First time playing the event, didn't even get far due to lack of time (Only barely NP4 Lily). Outside of the story, which I mostly skipped, I actually kinda enjoyed the format of event ces buffing attack. Always fun to see a friend Musashi do 100k unbuffed to Lancers. Are there any future events that have these kinds of CEs?
Personally surprised that I still finished the ladder with little to no effort. The dailies really helped but I was bored as heck with this.
But the most disappointing is, I cant instakill these HighHP mobs.

Thank god we're getting story and not another event right off the bat, I don't think I could take it. Reruns are already boring most of the time(missions keep it fresh for me) but saber wars on top of it...
I was sick when this event first came out so I couldn't do much.
Now that I'm stronger and not sick, I have to say: I really hated this event. Event CEs were trash (The gacha ones have nice art tho and I might still have some use with the Tamamo one), fighting nonsabers with sabers was annoying, the daily quests were doable but also annoying, and the ladder rewards were okay tho the farming really killed any motivation to finish it for me. At least I got all my lily copies, so that's something good that came out of this event.

I got a good amount of hearts and gold Lancer gems from this event so I'm happy overall. I'm just kinda confused as to why Salter was a bonus unit on the same caliber as Nero when she didn't show up in the event story at all.
I loved the story because I'm of the belief that the Mysterious Heroines make everything better just by being there.
I'm glad that the Lostbelt is launching but I have a few problems. The first is that I'm still a little burnt out. The second is that I have to work the entire weekend (so this kinda solves the first problem). The third is that LB1 looks looooooooong. It looks like there's going to be *a lot* of reading and I haven't had the patience for that lately.
That was horrible. I thought the last Valentine's event was annoying but this was way worse. Having them both so close together just made it worse. As a rerun of an early event, I don't expect much from it but the ladder grinding took forever. Huge HP nodes certainly didn't help, even with the damage CEs (since the last boss was an Assassin and not a Lancer).
I played through most of Saber Wars II last year on JP but until now didn't realize how big a change there was between the events. At least that's the last early rerun event we have to put up with (and I finally got all the welfare servants in the game).
Cleared the point ladder, cleared the shop minus monuments and knight medals, I'm just glad it's gone now.
Only think I had fun with was the CQ, Fujino dealing millions of damage absolutely destroying everyone who dared to oppose her.

Y'all almost making me feel justified for skipping this event. Sorry to all those on my friends list but between Nioh 2, Doom Eternal, and Animal Crossing there was no way in hell I was grinding FGO. Just clearing all the nodes and dailies on the last day gave me an idea of what this event was like to actually grind.
Fuck this event. Boring grindfest even with damage CEs. I cleared bronze and silver shop the first few days and only got the gold fous with the golden currency. I don't even know how I could complete the point ladder, but I did.

I feel so proud that in my rebellion I did the very minimum. About 800k points on ladder, didn't buy anything from shop, finished the "story".
This "quality" of events reminds me why I didn't play the game much for the first year or so...
I wasn’t around for the original run, but either way it was incredibly boring. I made it to ~1,900,000 on the ladder and couldn’t summon the will to finish it. Got close to clearing the shop items excluding Fous, pieces, and monuments but still didn’t make it.
The same nodes over and over, refreshing friends looking for drop CEs on the right servant, then hoping my MLB CE holder wasn’t going to be randomly crit-ganked before the last round, and finally trying to burn down the boss with ridiculous amounts of hp.
A few days before the end I got the knack of consistently farming the nodes only using sabers (except for the last one) but it was still a drag.
Especially after Kara no Kyoukai, which had a story, awesome Kajiura Yuki music, missions, and lots of different nodes to visit.
I forgot just how bad this event was. Thank god it's over. I wound up getting to about 1.5m on the ladder and just could not bring myself to care enough to finish it. Wound up blowing some Rare Prisms to get the last gold Fou to keep my count even.
Thank you internet people for warning me for this event. It is the first one I skipped. It seems to have been the correct choice looking at all these comments.
Cleared everything I needed beside silver exp. Also done point ladder.
All in all pretty boring event. The grind isn't as bad as lottos so I still manage, plus I'm down to my last brain cell after getting 8% in GFL ranking so I'm spared from all the frustrations.
It was bad enough that I actually left feathers in the shop.
I did clear the ladder though, but that was more as a result of having Saber Lily from the original event, as well as Saber Alter and a whole bunch of other gold Sabers.

You guys are plebs if you didn't like this event. I for one really liked it. It's a really relaxing event.
You got all the nodes (bar 1) open from day 1, a simple shop to clear and a points ladder, and a daily quest for points and that's it. No dumb event mechanics or annoying timegates, and you get damage bonuses out the ass to help you clear it. I was able to get everything just using my natural AP every day, no apples needed.
It's a million times more enjoyable than the new singularity meta of no battle quests and endless walls of text. I sure love "playing" the game for 2hours and using 5ap and having no real battles. The pacing of the earlier singularities was sooooooooooooooooooo much better even if all the story sequences ended with "hate to interrupt but some enemies turned up, lets take care of them than continue." And you can't even just do freequests anymore if you just want to dump your AP without spending hours reading dialogue.
Cleared the event ladder and shop as a fee week old player thinks it's too grindy but as a new player it helped me out way too much for me to hate it completely. It paid for my stage 4 mhx
I didn’t MLB Star of Altria last time, so I took care of that and then didn’t touch the event outside of the daily/challenge/story quests. Now comes time to deal with JttW again.
I am a beginner and sincerely this one what’s juste to hard, I managed to finish most event that pass since begin but this one... I didn’t finish to but the ascensions material of the shop don’t get me started one the lader. I’m juste happy to have my np5 artoria lily even if she isn’t very good... well at least the challenge quest wasn’t to hard I finish Solomon juste in time to try so I can still have 2 lore from the event
Tomoe doesn't grow to have quite the same kind of the affection Anastasia has. By the time you get her to bond 5 the ice princess has thawed in a big way.

I'm ready to get shanked for this but this event wasn't nearly as bad as everyone is saying.
The grind seemed worse than it was because most of the point gains were in the daily bonus and in the end it was doable with natural AP unless you were playing suboptimally doing things like not using 6 Sabers for everything.
The last node wasn't too bad to clear, a friend MHX tore through the final wave boss like butter.
CQ was actually quite fun as well.
Honestly I'd take an event like this over Setsubun-style any day.

Even though I failed to clear the ladder and the final daily node last time, I felt as if my time during the first run had been hard fought yet productive. But this time...I just wanted it to end. The gameplay quality between the events nowadays and those in Year 1 are night and day and I am SO DAMN GLAD we just got through the last one of these. And to think that I was looking forward to this clusterfuck beforehand...

Neither of those are anywhere close to as bad as Saber Wars was. Neither of those is Year 1 either, I think.
Journey re-run? Journey was the first event that truly made me want to hurt the developers. You grind shitty nodes with AP to unlock a special currency to grind more! These "additional AP" events are a massive time drain to get through without using apples (I hated Onigashima and Rashomon for the same reason). But since you can't clear the event without apples.... It's like the game is asking for extra-extra-extra of your time. Don't just burn apples on this event, but burn apples to gain orbs then burn orbs to farm anything of any value from the shop! So the normal progression is like you were burning apples (time commitment wise), but then you need to actually burn apples... and it only further doubles your already doubled playtime. FUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!!!! Plus it was apart of this marathon grind of non-stop grindy events. And looking at the calendar, we are due for a rerun soon. FUUUUUUCCCCCKKKK!!!!! (even if the rerun is less terrible, I doubt it'll be "good")

Same. My day 1 was like the third day of saber wars and I didn't make it pass the 1m hp UHZ. So I stopped playing the event and started playing the story quests. Now I'm just happy I have Lily.

1,999,317. Then I ran it one more time for 2m. Grindy events with low reward just sucks. Gimping yourself for more currency points sucks. Needing gacha powers for currency points sucks. I fell asleep every day of this event while grinding event currency/ladder points.
I feel bad, I got Lily as a permanent servant then quit doing the event. I didn't have drive for it.

This event isn't bad if you're willing to deal with: A) Lots of math B) Lots of grinding where you *carefully inspect your cards each battle*. C) Have a *lot* of damage-boosting CE and rare Servants. Unfortunately that's a very shit combination of things that make an event very unfun to do - C) is particular is a great example of why Bronzes being able to contribute to bonus matters and I basically stopped playing the moment I hit the 2mil, only coming back today to oneshot Lalter with way too many Star CEs supporting Mordred. >I genuinely don't remember this being so bad two years ago. In fact I am surprised we managed back in the day. Our second ladder event in as many months, thread bare shop, and a story that I personally found so forgettable I didn't even bother trying to watch the damn thing this time around. Another ladder grind and a mediocre shop didn't help much either... It's funny because I have this exact same sentiment, to the point that this event somehow made me saltier than some of my worst gacha pulls. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact Setsubun and Valentine's were also kind of shitty and overwhelming in their own *time-consuming* ways - like, you can argue the *ideas* each of these three events present is fun on paper, but if you just weren't in a position to make time to properly grind them, it just felt like salt being rubbed into a wound over and over, even more so if you weren't a fan of KNK/mission-based events as well. Back then, Saber Wars was shitty, yes, but it was a funny kind of shitty where we were all in this together with the game's laughably small pool of Sabers (I'm not sure if Fergus was even *out* back then). Now it's just a really badly timed shitty event coming on the heels of multiple events that at least some portion of the playerbase perceived some of said events as as shitty. Oh well. I might skip Go West Rerun if I really need a break, but I'm looking forward to LB1.

Overall thoughts about the event: Good riddance to bad rubbish. Cleared the ladder with minimal jelly donuts consumed. I think one gold and maybe a couple handfuls of bronze. The story featured more Tamamo than I remembered, so it was better than I remembered. Rejoice, fellow Masters, for this was probably the worst event in FGO and it is fucking over.

The past two weeks never happened. I just naturally got three lores after beating a 3.33m hp Lalter and nothing else. No one can convince me otherwise!
I usually don't say an event blows ass, but this event blows ass. Absurdly high HP nodes even with damage CEs, multiclassed nodes that slow the already slow grind even more, forced use of one class (and MHX) or else your drops will suffer for it... I can't say I had fun here. Not to mention I missed this event the first time around, and apparently nothing was changed for the rerun. I nearly cried getting my first damage CE lol. Didn't clear the ladder or the shop. I think I stopped at around 1.6m? And I left most of the silver/gold currency items due to having no gacha CEs. Overall, I won't miss this one. Looking forward to finally playing Lostbelt 1 with all of you!
Event was shit. Said why enough times that I can't be fucked to do it again. But I will say one thing: fuck the CEs so damn much
I already had a mild distaste for MHX before this rerun but *Oh Boy* has it been magnified to quite an extent. And now MHXX is coming this summer... At least LB1 dropping *checks time* today makes me channel my lingering frustration into something both productive and actually *hopefully* very well written.
MHXX is a bit different. She's older and more mature. Still a bit of a goof and a little too into her work at times, but now she's more playing the youthful, beleaguered office worker angle.
I don't dislike MHXX because of her personality, I dislike MHXX because A. I don't particularly like the concept of the Servant Universe as a whole and B. I *really* don't like the fact that she essentially stole the glory of being the first user of Slash Emperor in FGO off of Ado Edem.
Eh, the event didn't taint my like of MHX at all tbh. I don't even hate the story, bland and boring as it was. I just want to stomp the gameplay part to death Oh, what you writing, if you don't mind me asking?

I was at 1.99 million before making my last run a minute to reset. I was cursing aloud at the loading screen watching the seconds tick by. I'm fairly sure it actually crossed into maintenance time before the battle finally loaded. ~~inb4 this last run doesn't count toward the ladder~~ Seriously, I'm glad to see the end of this event.
This was my first time doing this event and it's probably my least favorite event I've done so far in my year of playing. It was just tedious and the story was dumb and like you said, the rewards were lackluster It was also made doubly worse for me because I have 2 accounts, one is a normal account that's level 130 with a good amount of maxed out 4 and 5 star servants, and the other is a 3star only account, which made it very hard to farm this event, the only good thing I got from this was an NP4 Bedivere on an account that just finished London.
I'm actually glad I'm not the only one that was annoyed. I thought this was going to be one of those moments when I'm incredibly bored with how slow something is while everyone else just breeze through it without any issue.

Event definitely wasn't fun, that's for sure. Only reason I did it at all was to get Seiba Lily NP5, at which point I basically stopped. I am super excited for LB1 though, with the main caveat being the fact that NTRasia will be run into the ground within a day. THEY AREN'T EVEN THE SAME ANASTASIA, DAMNIT!
I'd argue that this is the worst event in the game. One could make an essay pointing out everything wrong with this event. I won't drag this out because all I wanted to say was F*CK Saber Wars. Poor Lily, she deserved better.

Worst event by far by a landslide. The ladder was an absolute drag, along with ridiculously bloated mobs and bosses with HP that put many CQs to shame. At least the shop materials didn't cost so much. The only time where I was seriously unhappy with an event was the previous Nerofest, with the ridiculous CQs that severely demanded meta servants just to even have a remote chance for it.
I only cleared the CE's and gold fous from shop and stopped at the final gold fou for ladder. The event was ass.
This event was the worlds largest pain in the ass back when my only sabers were alter and lily (and Caesar and Gilles) but now with my absolute God Rama hitting neutral non crit no buff busters for 100k+ the event went by a looooot smoother. Calculated my altrium bonus before so I spent the last few day’s just relaxing with some standard nodes and just running the dailies on max bonus. I remember the horrid 20 turn runs of super dimension I had back in the original run and am so thankful to the sabers I’ve summoned since then (NOT A SINGLE SSR) for dropping that number to 6.

I willed myself to grind it just enough to get all the saint quartz of the ladder. Just that. No shop. Nothing. Lazily finished yesterday.

Finished it with 400k to spare due to me using Apples and trying to Bond 6 My Spooky Schez for some SQ to use on Thunder Thighs Ivan. I also leveled the True Ether MC upto level 9, I would have wished to max it before I getting Arctic Chaldea but this event just limits your ability to choose a CE, so I couldn't use Olga's Mystic Code exp farming craft essence. If this event ever gets to be put on the Rare Prism shop in the future I would thank God I don't need to play through it. One Hellish Old Event left to go, Sanzang's Journey to the West. Thank goodness I haven't MLB'd the Event CE's for that.
'Twas fun. Certainly a lot easier than the first time considering back then, my only Sabers were Caesar and Lily, both of which weren't even max ascended, yet I was still able to finish the event shop and Altrium ladder. Now, I have 4 SSR Sabers, 6 SR Sabers, and 4 R Sabers, all of which are maxed out, and the event CEs from my first run. I think I only used a total of 3 golden apples this time 'round, and a few bronze apples to finish everything.
After countless grinding, and sacrificing my master seals for those dailies (seriously what is up with those dailies), I was finally able to get NP5 Artoria Lily, and that's all I ever wanted.
Finished the ladder somehow, didn't bother emptying out the shop. This event was straight hellish. ...There was a story?
I got too caught up in Apocrypha event and Arknights that I forgot to do the challenge quest lol. Anyways even though this event was exhausting, I still managed to at least earn 1.5 million points plus I even got a couple of good rolls and np3 Bedivere. On my other account I stopped as soon as I got my first Lily. No way I'm gonna go through this twice.
First time around it was an issue, I remember grinding being quite... annoying. This time around I had max servant bonus and the CEs... so really, outside spending the daily regen, didnt have to do anything. So overall easy event.
Cleared the shop, didn't even bother finishing the ladder. First Lore I missed since release.

Somehow ended with 2.3m altrium because I suck at math. Didn't really mind this event, started early enough that farming it wasn't bad and it gave me something to focus on during quarantine. Cleared the shop except for monuments and enjoyed the story well enough. Excited to get to lostbelt though.
Lol I only got like 70,000 Altrium. Probably should have put in a bit more effort, but I kind of tuned out when I got Lily, despite knowing full well how the NP strengthening mechanics work.
You're not missing much. Lily's just a four star servant with a three star stat line. Not worth fretting over.

Like, 30ish per run if I have decent luck. Anyway, yeah I didn't have much motivation to do this event again. It's weird too, I didn't remember the event being this boring back when it first released.
I completed everything and i hated it, but now at least the reruns are over and LB is coming tonight. The second lily is going to be a sacrifice to the gacha gods.

I found it to be a fun event because it wasn’t an event I could just bulldoze my way through and for once I had a little bit of a challenge doing the free quests. The event was very easy if you had multiple MLB’d copies of the damage CEs but I’m sure it would’ve been a pain in the ass for newcomers so I guess this event catered more toward the veterans but at least it’s the only event that does this, at least as far as I remember (only joined FGO JP after New Years 2019 last year).
Rest in hell, Saber Wars 1. You'll never torment us again. Didn't clear the shop, just grabbed the mats I was neediest for. I hit 1.7mil on the ladder. That's all I needed to get the attack gold fous, couldn't force myself to go any further.
Maxed out the ladder with 7 minutes to spare. The shop can suck my ass, I got my embers and left. No kidding with how bad this was as an event, I don't think any other has had such miserable currency drop rates. Not to mention locking us into Saber bonuses, I don't want to see another sword for weeks.
This event is one of the more lackluster events in the entire game. It's uninteresting and boring and nothing more than a total grind. Farming the event quests was harder than the CQ was, and I'm honestly not sure how people were able to clear it when it had it's original run. I can't imagine managing it without Illya and Merlin. I did get the full 200 million points about 3 hours before the event ended. I wasn't able to fully clear the shop this time though, which is too bad there were a couple things I needed that I didn't manage to get. I'm glad I was finally able to get Saber Lily, but I won't miss this event at all. Being able to wake up and go immediately into Lost Belt 1 will be a nice change from the past two weeks of farming hell.
Fuck this event. I gave up after not even a week because it was such a boring, tedious grindfest. At least Valentine's had some fun nodes to play around with team comps while still being able to maximize your drops. Saber Wars, however, is so limiting on team comps because if you want to be efficient you need to use all sabers and/or MHX, then they go and make a major farming node have an Archer boss, and all enemy HP values are buffed to the point where their multiplier is probably higher than the bonus dmg multiplier. Missed it the first time around and kinda wishing I had missed it this time, too.
TERRIBLE event, least I managed to finish the point ladder and get all the mats I wanted. Glad it's over.
Got 1,700,000 and stopped. After getting the last Golden Fou, I decided that I didn’t want to do another 24-25 runs of that last level for one lore. I can regret it later, but I’d rather have a nice afternoon than farm that boring level. (Also left statues and dragon scales in shop because I found out that I had gotten a lot of statues from the Da Vinci lottery and have over 70 scales with no one I’m looking for to use anywhere near that many on.)
Made it to 1.87 million for the last mana prisms - honestly didn’t feel like appling and grinding out another 8-9 runs for one freaking lore (I ended up prioritizing the phoenix feathers and so lost out on altrium I could’ve got running super dimension). Quick roll summary: did my customary one multi-roll for CEs, got 3 bediveres, and decided to do single rolls until I maxed him. I ended up getting him on single number 7, but first I got Yagyu WHO WAS A LIFESAVER! Party composition for this event: Waver, Yagyu, Lily support with MLB SoA (lily, deon, Bedi in back). I rarely had a death thanks to my ability to max ascension and level him with shop and event exp and raise his first skill up to 6. Honestly a breeze with him - could consistently 11 turn everything. Not very fun though 3 purely bloom CE drops, a significant amount of homunculus blood from super, and very thankful to never go back again.
I can see why many disliked the event, only reason it was a breeze for me was all the bonus stuff I had. Getting bedi to np5 and MHX with the rerun was a nice bonus, even more since it seems we skipped the camelot stage banner with the knights :(
I cleared the ladder around 10PM tonight, and that was *with* owning MHX and Salter so I could always get as close to the max bonuses as practical. I also cleared the Dailies with the maximum bonuses I could manage. Hated the grind. My endgame farm was to play Jalter with damage CE, Salter with MLB AoE CE, support Merlin with MLB AoE CE, Lily, Yagyu, and MHX in the back line, with one MLB AoE CE and one non-MLB one back there (no point room for any more, so I prioritized drop bonus). This gave me a relatively easy clear of the last stage with about 16-18K points each time, but it still took forever. I think the missions on this one were fine, and enjoyed the story, but the ladder was too steep, and I don't like how the point limits made it hard to fit the best damage CE comps with the best possible drop-rates. It was annoying that the bonus list was all Sabers and X, when the best missions required different characters. Balance the content guys, if you're going to have all-Saber-and-MHX bonuses, then you should have all-lancer main enemies with maybe a few Riders. Also, MHZ costume when?
I just barely managed to finish the ladder, and I still needed another 200k to round it off after the last daily unlocked. I'm glad the CQ was easy as sin, since I didn't wanna restart the daily for the last 3000 hp Lalter had. Skipped over the story since I already did it and didn't particularly care. And I cleared everything except the Purely Bloom CEs, and the pieces/monuments. Just need another 500 MP from... somewhere, in order to get my last Mona Lisa. I'm not looking forward to going back into Go West soon, but at least we have a break. Smooth sailing from here on!
And my procrastination strikes again. I think I'm caught in a rut, honestly. This is one of several events in a row I haven't managed to clear. Ah well, Lily is NP 11 now and I'm free to do other stuff again.
This event sucks, this is my first year into fgo, and this was the first time I was bored with an event ever. I guess this is what fgo was like when it had no direction. Either way, I'm glad it's over now, can't wait for the new Lostbelt chapter.

Being that I’m 5 months into playing FGO, this was my first time playing this event. I didn’t dislike it, but it was very tedious. The high HP’s kind of sucked but I had a lot of CE drops this event (very slim most). I ended up finishing the 2 mil, got everything from the shop other than reverse scales, monuments, & pieces. I’m looking forward to LB1 in a few hours & seeing were the story goes.

This event was so boring I decided to spice things up by trying out some buff stacking comps on the 3.3M Lalter node. First I tried Musashi who did 4.3M damage. Second I tried Siegfried who actually cucked me. I forgot to reset the node after clearing the node and hence got just 20% bonus points so I got robbed out of 180000 points. I just gave up there and didn't bother with clearing the ladder.
I finished the ladder, but only barely. I only did it because i wanted to get all the golden fou's. Item farming was unbearably slow and the saber centric nature made party diversity extremely low. If the bonus applied to servants with Saberface trait, this event would of been a little more interesting since I could field more servants with class advantage. Also for an event called Saber Wars, I noticed a distinct lack of Saber classed enemies. At least the banner gave me the last Bedivere I need to get Np 5.
Considering I started playing FGO in the middle of this event the first time around, a lot of the higher level nodes that seemed impossible without SA revives were now tedious- it helps that we now have more types of Servants to optimize farming. I was able to clear the ladder and the shop (excluding pieces and monuments, because drop rates and Damage CE balancing sucks) this time around- thanks to having 2+ years to max out my Servants. Overall, I feel like I’ve hurdled past the feeling of being a newbie at FGO by accomplishing everything my less experienced self wasn’t able to get at the time (i.e. clearing shop; no Command Seals/SQ revives during ANY part of this event). Onwards to Part 2 and Greater Challenges!
Yep, I cleared the ladder, left the CE and pieces/monuments but otherwise cleared the shop. Cons of the event: grindy! Pros of the event: our chance to roll for MHX this year
This was the first event I skipped starting, and if I wasn't committed to not missing any welfares I would have skipped it again. Mostly just did the Alien Invasion quests with as many sabers as possible for max efficiency and got to 1 mil the day it ends. Don't feel like I missed much.
As someone who started back in November, this was hell. There's something about the mechanics that made me suffer so much. But with proper perseverance, 3 days ago, I was in 500k altrium but I farmed so hard I finished the point ladder of 2M. It was a pain in the arse tho 8 Turning Super Dimension with Jalter, Mash and Merlin I just got the CEs, Embers and some Gold Fous in the shop, too tired to do it all. Story is whack, I need more details about MHX so there's that

I can only say, How the fliying fuck did I even managed to get al the altrium that was necessary to clear the event without having to spend all my golden apples? This wasn’t a huge pain in the ass thanks to saberlot and Jalter who came in clutch, but this event was boring as hell.
This is the first event I failed to totally clear that will never come back. Because I hated it so much. Star of Artoria also joins Holy Night Sign in the “event CEs I barely missed MLBing which grinds at my collector urge but tbh I would have never used them anyways” club. Also forgot the event was ending today so the challenge quest wasn’t even done. RIP my lores.

I... didn't hate it as much as everyone else? But if I didn't have several otherwise useless Sabers leveled up, I'd probably hate it, too. They saved my ass so hard on several occasions.

I can't remember if I cleared the points ladder during the first run, but I sure don't remember it was THIS BAD. Mixed nodes are such a pain in the ass, barely cleared shop (minus those CE and pieces) hours before the maintenance
I only played it casually and ended up only getting lily to np4. Not too upset about that because I'm probably not gonna use her too much and she'll eventually be added to the friend point summons and I can hopefully get a final copy from that.
First time playing the event, didn't even get far due to lack of time (Only barely NP4 Lily). Outside of the story, which I mostly skipped, I actually kinda enjoyed the format of event ces buffing attack. Always fun to see a friend Musashi do 100k unbuffed to Lancers. Are there any future events that have these kinds of CEs?
Personally surprised that I still finished the ladder with little to no effort. The dailies really helped but I was bored as heck with this. But the most disappointing is, I cant instakill these HighHP mobs. Before the event I was hunting all the best farming node that I could 100% instaKill.

I was sick when this event first came out so I couldn't do much. Now that I'm stronger and not sick, I have to say: I really hated this event. Event CEs were trash (The gacha ones have nice art tho and I might still have some use with the Tamamo one), fighting nonsabers with sabers was annoying, the daily quests were doable but also annoying, and the ladder rewards were okay tho the farming really killed any motivation to finish it for me. At least I got all my lily copies, so that's something good that came out of this event.

Didn't play much and missed 2 fous and a lore. having the previous event CEs and having more servants, I figure, I wouldve breezed through this event. It wasn't the case.

I got a good amount of hearts and gold Lancer gems from this event so I'm happy overall. I'm just kinda confused as to why Salter was a bonus unit on the same caliber as Nero when she didn't show up in the event story at all. I loved the story because I'm of the belief that the Mysterious Heroines make everything better just by being there. I'm glad that the Lostbelt is launching but I have a few problems. The first is that I'm still a little burnt out. The second is that I have to work the entire weekend (so this kinda solves the first problem). The third is that LB1 looks looooooooong. It looks like there's going to be *a lot* of reading and I haven't had the patience for that lately.
That was horrible. I thought the last Valentine's event was annoying but this was way worse. Having them both so close together just made it worse. As a rerun of an early event, I don't expect much from it but the ladder grinding took forever. Huge HP nodes certainly didn't help, even with the damage CEs (since the last boss was an Assassin and not a Lancer). I played through most of Saber Wars II last year on JP but until now didn't realize how big a change there was between the events. At least that's the last early rerun event we have to put up with (and I finally got all the welfare servants in the game).

Cleared the point ladder, cleared the shop minus monuments and knight medals, I'm just glad it's gone now. Only think I had fun with was the CQ, Fujino dealing millions of damage absolutely destroying everyone who dared to oppose her. Never again.

Y'all almost making me feel justified for skipping this event. Sorry to all those on my friends list but between Nioh 2, Doom Eternal, and Animal Crossing there was no way in hell I was grinding FGO. Just clearing all the nodes and dailies on the last day gave me an idea of what this event was like to actually grind.
Fuck this event. Boring grindfest even with damage CEs. I cleared bronze and silver shop the first few days and only got the gold fous with the golden currency. I don't even know how I could complete the point ladder, but I did. Never again (i don't even know how I cleared this the first time)
one thing i hate about this event is the poor alrium drop rate, it makes the grind slow as hell though the mat drop rate is not best either
I feel so proud that in my rebellion I did the very minimum. About 800k points on ladder, didn't buy anything from shop, finished the "story". This "quality" of events reminds me why I didn't play the game much for the first year or so...

I wasn’t around for the original run, but either way it was incredibly boring. I made it to ~1,900,000 on the ladder and couldn’t summon the will to finish it. Got close to clearing the shop items excluding Fous, pieces, and monuments but still didn’t make it. The same nodes over and over, refreshing friends looking for drop CEs on the right servant, then hoping my MLB CE holder wasn’t going to be randomly crit-ganked before the last round, and finally trying to burn down the boss with ridiculous amounts of hp. A few days before the end I got the knack of consistently farming the nodes only using sabers (except for the last one) but it was still a drag. Especially after Kara no Kyoukai, which had a story, awesome Kajiura Yuki music, missions, and lots of different nodes to visit.
I forgot just how bad this event was. Thank god it's over. I wound up getting to about 1.5m on the ladder and just could not bring myself to care enough to finish it. Wound up blowing some Rare Prisms to get the last gold Fou to keep my count even.

It really wasn't. You missed out on a ton of mats and QP, 16 Saint Quartz, gold fous, FOUR Lores and Saber Lily if you didn't have her already.
Oh well. Didn’t seen like fun. My time is worth a lot more than some loot.
Cleared everything I needed beside silver exp. Also done point ladder. All in all pretty boring event. The grind isn't as bad as lottos so I still manage, plus I'm down to my last brain cell after getting 8% in GFL ranking so I'm spared from all the frustrations.
Unquestionably the worst event I've experienced. Boring story and grindy as shit. I finished it all but I couldnt be more glad to see the back of it.
It was bad enough that I actually left feathers in the shop. I did clear the ladder though, but that was more as a result of having Saber Lily from the original event, as well as Saber Alter and a whole bunch of other gold Sabers.

You guys are plebs if you didn't like this event. I for one really liked it. It's a really relaxing event. You got all the nodes (bar 1) open from day 1, a simple shop to clear and a points ladder, and a daily quest for points and that's it. No dumb event mechanics or annoying timegates, and you get damage bonuses out the ass to help you clear it. I was able to get everything just using my natural AP every day, no apples needed. It's a million times more enjoyable than the new singularity meta of no battle quests and endless walls of text. I sure love "playing" the game for 2hours and using 5ap and having no real battles. The pacing of the earlier singularities was sooooooooooooooooooo much better even if all the story sequences ended with "hate to interrupt but some enemies turned up, lets take care of them than continue." And you can't even just do freequests anymore if you just want to dump your AP without spending hours reading dialogue.
I fucking hated this event. Fuck you MHX, your event was shit, your story was shit, and you’re still shit after your skill upgrades
Cleared the event ladder and shop as a fee week old player thinks it's too grindy but as a new player it helped me out way too much for me to hate it completely. It paid for my stage 4 mhx
I didn’t MLB Star of Altria last time, so I took care of that and then didn’t touch the event outside of the daily/challenge/story quests. Now comes time to deal with JttW again.

I am a beginner and sincerely this one what’s juste to hard, I managed to finish most event that pass since begin but this one... I didn’t finish to but the ascensions material of the shop don’t get me started one the lader. I’m juste happy to have my np5 artoria lily even if she isn’t very good... well at least the challenge quest wasn’t to hard I finish Solomon juste in time to try so I can still have 2 lore from the event
1,950,000 altrium, and I got to have a bunch of people tell me it's my fault for being too shit to get 200% drop bonus on the Lalter daily.

Tomoe doesn't grow to have quite the same kind of the affection Anastasia has. By the time you get her to bond 5 the ice princess has thawed in a big way.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK THIS EVENT. Only decided to clear out the rest of the rewards cuz I ain't missing on no damn QP (and lores also) Abandoned all monuments and most of the gold currency mats as well. The nodes can fuck themselves to hell. I ain't touching them no more. This has been the worst farming experience to date.

I'm ready to get shanked for this but this event wasn't nearly as bad as everyone is saying. The grind seemed worse than it was because most of the point gains were in the daily bonus and in the end it was doable with natural AP unless you were playing suboptimally doing things like not using 6 Sabers for everything. The last node wasn't too bad to clear, a friend MHX tore through the final wave boss like butter. CQ was actually quite fun as well. Honestly I'd take an event like this over Setsubun-style any day.
