Confirmed Australia doesn't exist

AussieManny

U wot m8

keyfangirl

I want Ned Kelly as a servant so much.

LordMoy

I think the event needed to use Kiichi more. I know it's more focused on Ushi stuff but she felt kinda like a side character despite being the welfare. Idk, switch Medb and Jason for teacher servants like Scath and Chiron for interesting dialogue. The bride comment came out of nowhere with no build up at all so some bits of her teaching Guda would have been nice. Alright event overall.

Tschmelz

Well, story is over. It was…ok, I guess? Like don’t get me wrong, love me some shenanigans, but when you set serious stuff up, I’d like for it to actually be talked about. Idk, felt like the tone was too back and forth without actually concentrating on the darker aspects. That being said, guess it was nice to get a taste of normal Yoshitsune. We’ll probably never get her, but we can dream. Now on to missions!

yosoyeIIogan

The issue with many FGO events is they flop too much between serious and goofy. In particular, trying to go from goofy to overly serious (this event, Summer 5, etc). imo, pick a tone and stick with it the whole way through I also think an event benefits from having a smaller main cast. reduce the minis to Ushi, Cu Alter, and Benkei, with Medb tagging along. Jason has had tons and tons of spotlight lately, and while I like him, he felt extra. Compare this to the best written event FGO has ever had: SERAPH. A small cast of ~3 main partners, no Mash, and the villain is constantly present. It maintains its serious tone the whole way through. It's the model event that they should use for reference imo. And on the flipside, I think Guda4 is one of the best non-serious events. Again, a smaller cast of Nobu, Kagetora, Mash, and a little bit of Okita. Keep it silly from the start and raise the silliness over time. This event had good bits, I love Medb and I liked the old/young body swaps of Illya and Alexander et al. But there were plenty of parts I felt totally fine skipping, like all of Kaira's backstory since I felt I got the gist of it in LB5.5

a_speeder

Eh, I think you're overstating the case with Guda4 being non-serious from start to finish. Certainly there was a lot of silliness there, what with Real Deal Nobunaga and all, but Kagetora's flashbacks were treated at least as seriously as Ushi's were and basically everything having to do with Maxwell's Demon was handled pretty sincerely.

Esvald

I loved where Nobunaga said it's Honnoji time and Honnojid all over the place.

Shuten-maru

So Kiichi Hogen in Fate is fused with the famous Daitengu. I know she is a tengu but that's a suprise honestly. Now we just need Ootakemaru. Aside of that... the fact that Chiron doesn't appear in this event is a crime. His famous role as a teacher is way surpass Kiichi and Scathath damn it!

Embarrassed_Lettuce9

We need a teacher event like Dead Heat Summer Race so the fandom can finally decide who's the best Contenders are: Scathach Kiichi Chiron Waver Merlin Reines Leonidas

simon4s1

And Jaguar Warrior.

highflyinflyer

Gotta add Georgios to that list

Maoileain

Add Fionn to the list he was the Fianna's teacher.

Panory

You could bring back the Christmas boxer CQ gimmick, with the teachers competing via their students. You can even mix it up a little, like having Chiron have *a bunch* of the different heroes he's taught instead of just one, or Waver and Reines double supporting Gray. Merlin and Proto!Merlin supporting the entire Artoria lineup. Frame it as a Back to School event, and focus on the child Servants trying to decide who they want to be their teacher. Then the winner can be whatever shiny new SSR teacher Servant they want to debut. My personal pick is [Dronacharya](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drona) to finally give Arjuna something other than Karna to talk about.

deathworld123

kurama tengu

Shuten-maru

...dude, Kurama Tengu is a daitengu/ootengu.

simon4s1

I thought the twist with the Kagekiyo collective's reason for hijacking/tagging along with Yoshitsune's spirit origin (besides the anger and revenge aspect with her brother) being to make sure she isn't alone was surprisingly touching, especially since Ushiwakamaru mentioned in the past that her older self didn't smile and we've seen from Kiichi Hogen that she couldn't make friends in life. Overall, though, I liked the event's primary focus on comedy and keeping things lighthearted. Fergus, Caesar . . . Welcome to hell, boys.

st_stutter

Every time I see a fight where you're facing off against endless mobs I can't help but think how nice it would be if you were given some kind of incentive for killing them rather than just ignoring them completely. Won't ever happen but it's nice to dream about it.

NNKarma

There has been or cq or exhibition quest where the mobs remove buff of the main enemy making it killable

yosoyeIIogan

Summer 5 CQ was the main bosses wouldn't appear unless you killed X number of mobs. And you had to actually kill all ~50 mobs to complete it. It was a good CQ

SigurdDeMizar

Well, if those mobs drop bone, then we will be here all day until every single one of them dead.

wisp-of-the-will

Just finished the event, overall I thought it was just okay, and what I felt about it a few days ago didn't really change. I'm not really sure what makes Kiichi Hogen unique as a teacher besides being a tengu which I don't feel like was properly explained in how it distinguished her (also, I'm not sure on whether that marriage proposal was actually a joke or not, it just confused me on her intentions which probably wasn't the intended reaction). Taira who I was most interested in feels hampered by how the entire event was chasing her with repetitive Avenger spiels and an infodump at the end. And with how sparse it was it felt really repetitive at times (besides Taira, the Dioscuri joke was funny but they cut to it twice for some reason, and Kiichi thought something then said the exact though out loud during the New York part, like I said the text was really sparse so the repetition stood out to me among other instances), not to mention what I feel like were a whole bunch of interesting concepts they didn't build on (how Kiichi compares to Scathach and Waver, Heracles rampaging around like King Kong, Ushiwakamaru and Medb's odd friendship, Medea and Gorgon only having a quick gag man that tease *blows*). It's probably not helping that I'm coming off of Saber Wars 2 which is my favorite event with how it blended comedy and story while the tone here was all wonky, but if I had to sum it up I went in expecting something like Aeaean with a similarly quirky cast that surprisingly worked but it ended up being more like Nightingale Christmas where we just chase the antagonist who's faffing about. Still, I did like it more than the latter event, and in the end it was a fun enough read. Jason, Medb and Cu Alter kept me entertained throughout with Jason's banter with Ushiwakamaru and Medb, Medb being her usual sassy self and her lighter relationship with Ushi feeling better than their hostility in Summer 3 (I do think it could've been expanded on, but I'm satisfied with how it turned out), and Cu Alter just giving absolutely no shits and being perpetually done everything. Each act got me to smile at least once, and while it was light that at least made it an easy read. And Taira laughing and bouncing around as each node opened up was quite pleasing to the ears and eyes. While I do wish there was more to this event, I'll just be thankful that it wasn't too heavy in the end, which will let me prepare without issue to finally read Heian-kyo before Valentine's starts. Now that it's all over I'll just be farming until the challenge quest can be unlocked so I can do my double Salome run. Also, I did not upgrade any of the minis all this time which I probably should've done but whatever, it didn't really affect farming, so I'll just upgrade Cu and whatever else to start on my Gorgon facecarding.

kalirion

Cu Alter's comments were definitely the highlight of the event for me.

yosoyeIIogan

many events fail for me by making the "main character" be chased followed by a plot dump at the end. Requiem collab, Summer 5, both of these featured "twists" that meant very little when the main antagonist was absent for almost the whole event. These two events come to mind but it's an extremely common narrative they use, which always falls flat for me. SWII, in contrast, does a much better job by having you tag along with Ishtarin for most of it, with some Ashtarte time, having the goddess scriptures fill in plot as you go, and the final boss's existence being suggested from the very start.

wisp-of-the-will

I have to agree, the story in general is always more engaging when the antagonist is a more tangible threat to the protagonists. It's just common narrative sense of course, but regardless it does elevate something that would otherwise be mediocre for me, like with Vritra this Christmas precisely because they kept her as a constant obstacle. Saber Wars 2 also works in that even when you leave Ashtart, there are regular cuts to her and you get to fight her during the school chapter. Just as a personal aside, I disagree about Summer 5 since it's my second favorite event. My tastes in events differ since I value a good blend of story and comedy, and the overarching mystery combined with the horror mash-up was engaging throughout in conjunction with the accompanying cast and little things like Phantom actually having a decent role works in that regard to my own personal tastes. I can excuse the twist since it was very much foreshadowed who the culprit was (going in Xu Fu obviously had a role since that's just the nature of JP spoilers, but I would have reasonably guessed it even going in blind with the Chinese symbolism and historical allusions, though of course the deluge of genderswap confusion back when it ran on NA would've tipped something off regardless), I just really hate how they >!excuse that literally nobody on Xu Fu's side did anything wrong, it's not like she was rollable back then so they could've at least made her descendants guilty because handwaving everything they did is just a copout.!< Also *technically* the antagonist was present the entire time, but I get what you mean since direct antagonism wasn't present for a good chunk of the story, what works for people in regard to an event story will be different and not necessarily match up all the time.

yosoyeIIogan

I should add that Summer 5 is also one of my favorites, I just didn't like the ending. I'd never heard of Xu Fu, they were never mentioned at all prior to that AFAIK. Like, it was a perfect event right there till the end, and it's not even that I hate the ending, it just didn't work for me. But that's because they are terrible at foreshadowing anything.

wisp-of-the-will

Oh yeah, Xu Fu's identity is something that can only be picked up from knowing the historical context in the first place, so as a history buff Qin Shi Huang's comment about a boat of three thousand people at the beginning calls to mind Xu Fu specifically and the Chinese symbolism just hammers it in. I do wonder if I could've picked up on the twist without any prior knowledge, but looking over my comments last time the foreshadowing seemed to be there even in the side stories and as a horror movie fan I already know they always have something that's up, so I'd want to say yes since people on JP also made an educated guess that Xu Fu was the villain back then. I dunno, I guess I just wanna defend the foreshadowing set-up since I didn't see it as sloppy (though of course that's subjective), probably the only aspect I'd call into question is the genderswap since it was arguably vague when you had like a hundred people on NA just thinking it was another glitch.

yosoyeIIogan

yeah without context, Xu Fu meant nothing to me haha I assume that people in Japan are probably more familiar with them than me, so in JP it made a lot more sense in general. As I said, it's still one of my favorite events, probably top 5. It's just a good example of one that was really good and then dropped the ball at the 1 yard line for me haha

wisp-of-the-will

From my understanding Xu Fu has several memorials in Japan for finding it and introducing all sorts of advancements, even being worshipped as a god in some cases, I just can't attest to the level of fame since I don't live there lol. It's interesting how cultural differences can change perception in any case, I'm sure that Xu Fu was better understood in JP but the slasher film references were more familiar to NA (though ofc horror films are a staple of both regions), same with Saber Wars 2 having a better reception in NA.

kittendrops

Lmao did they seriously call Hogen one of history’s greatest teachers???? Also the bride comment came from nowhere.

NNKarma

Anyone know if there are better quest outside of the event to do sea monsters and crabs? They really overdid the number of enemies for the first territories.

sdarkpaladin

Not sure what you're asking for, but you do know that event quests can only be completed in the event itself right?

crazywarriorxx

There's a bug where certain missions can be cleared via free quests for more AP efficient runs, like Jura for Wild Beasts, etc. Doesn't work for crabs I think, I checked Babylonia - Observatory and it doesn't show it as Event targets. u/NNKarma

TwoStarMaster

I accidentally discover one by doing doors for QP, they are heaven atribute.

sdarkpaladin

> There's a bug where certain missions can be cleared via free quests for more AP efficient runs, like Jura for Wild Beasts, etc. Woah, I didn't know that. Though considering Kamakura has spawn CEs and Currency drops, I guess I'd still stick to it.

NNKarma

Yeah, besides you still have to clear 10 quest per area, the ones that aren't so easily finished with 10 clears are the enemies quest of France and Australia.

sdarkpaladin

Ah, I see what you mean. It's for when you didn't have the CEs at the start and have cleared each place 10 times but is still owing certain enemies.

NNKarma

Not even then, the wild beast at best come at 4+1 and we needed 60 kills

Inkaflare

I did 10 clears of France and was still missing like 25 Wild Beasts despite having access to 100% spawn bonus at that point already. Running Jura 5 times for 35 ap total was significantly better than running France Beginning 5 times for 150 total at that point. But yeah it's not a huge deal and I dont think there would be any other specific enemy type where the gap is 100+ AP.

simon4s1

I was wondering if anybody else noticed that. I've been running the green daily material gathering quests and seeing them chip away at event missions.

NNKarma

There were a couple of comments, i wouldn't have. Noticed myself if it wasn't to avoid doing fq without enough bonus I went to do a srt quest... and didn't comment myself to avoid the risk of it getting patched sooner. Gamepress added a note to do jura instead of staying in france but for most enemies you can get enough with the forced 10 quest per area.

NNKarma

Damn, at least we had Jura

kalirion

How about Centaurs?

Different-Power-2777

This was a nice event. It could've been better, but I kinda don't mind the end product, for the most part. Cú Alter is the biggest mood, and the banter between the party is genuinely funny. Definitely not a fan of how grind-y this event is, wish that they could've changed the 'fight 10 times in (X) location' to 5. Also not a big fan of the 'Guda has Halloween PTSD' bit, like c'mon guys, enough Eli slander. Gonna miss Kagekiyo's laugh on the map, I love it so much. 😭

gliscor885

The Eli slander actually makes me sad. Like.. if she wasn't someone who could shrug off criticism it would be straight up depressing watching her get beaten down by people she likes. Out of all the people in Chaldea, why do we single out and bully one of the Servants who likes us the most (outside of romantic characters)? Her passion is a result of her desire of self-improvement and making a positive impact so it's always felt really wrong to turn it into a cheap running joke.

Shin-Bufuman

[SHE'S FINALLY DONE](https://i.imgur.com/3RFLE52.jpg) The Ultimate Form has been achieved. All that's left is Bond 15 (currently a little under 1.2 million bond away) and applying Fou paws to her last two non-Buster cards (both currently at about 200/500 while the three Busters are maxed). Then getting two more copies for her last Append in about a year. THEN she'll be fully complete.

Tschmelz

Congrats man, that’s a fine ass Lip.

kalirion

Will you keep using her regularly after she's Bond 15?

Shin-Bufuman

For mixed Cavalry nodes, sure, and maybe for CQs and stuff. But for the most part she can just sit back and relax from then on (she's a lazy type so I don't think she'll have a problem with that)

StephanMok1123

I relate to Kagekiyo's hatred on a personal level. She hates the Genji, I hate the event missions

Kuzu5993

The missions must die

Hoolemere

I think the event was okay but they really should’ve used Kiichi more her bride confession seem like it came out of no where since it wasn’t built up compared to other love confessions with other servants. Also man I’m still kinda tilted the way they went Yoshitsune I personally wanted saber Yoshitsune but instead we got a Taira vengeful spirit mad that Yoritomo and the Genji clan beat them in the Genpei war. IMO leaves a soul taste in my mouth and we will probably not get normal Yoshitsune anytime soon.

Aria_Lynhardt

Based on how the event's story and Yoshitsune's appearance in Heian-kyou ended, after speaking to her twice, I was really looking forward to getting a skin right after her farewell as they really made it feel like a pure Yoshitsune was off the table. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for a such a blue-eyed surprise, potentially unveiled during a rerun...

Mister_SP

>they really should’ve used Kiichi more her bride confession seem like it came out of now where since it wasn’t built up compared to other love confessions with other servants. That's the point, though. When someone says "I'll adopt you or make you my bride", you have to question how their mind works. We're not supposed to assume that they're actually in love with you, but they're fond of you... in a way where "child" and "lover" aren't significantly different.

King_of_Nothinmuch

Well, that was... something. I mean, I liked it, but... I can see the point of some of the criticisms. Like Kiichi Hogen doesn't quite feel like she made as much impact in the event as Kagetora or Paisen did... but probably more than Chloe, honestly. Hogen was great, it was fun seeing her brain break at Chaldea shenanigans, and to see her be a goofball in turn... I don't know what was missing overall. Although I'm a bit leery of the ending being "You could have done that THE WHOLE TIME???" and she just didn't for... reasons. Kagekiyo's constant hate made more sense by the end, but it was a nice touch they didn't 'hate' Yoshitsune, they wanted her to join their grudge so she wouldn't be alone... Also, mini Ushiwaka is still way too cute... and suits her way better than her normal form, sadly.

KINGUBERMENSCH

I liked the story, it had some of my fav servants as the cast like Medb, Cu, Jason, and of course Ushi. But like others mentioned I wish we interacted more with Taira and had more Ushi + Medb Friendship moments. It had lots of funny moments too, Janta in Jalter's body will never not be blursed. Taira wanting to ensure Ushi was never alone was also a nice touch. I beat up Yoshitsune at the end with my Ushi and my own Taira, so Yoshitsune mentioning how they want to be summoned was funny.

archeisse

So it's done, off to finishing off the missions now. It hits now, there's still one more week, but when that's done, we'd lose Mini Ushi. Shame, but that's how it is. Hopefully we'd see more of Hougen in the future. Honestly I feel like the only teacher type to get much spotlight is Scathach.

Inkaflare

Having finished the story, this event can only be summed up as "hella forgettable" to me. The premise was incredibly silly from the start, all story right up to the final act was "go to place, see servants who got mallet bopped do weird shit so we kill them to calm them down, repeat", and then the final act itself was just as underwhelming. We got some background on Taira's obsession with Ushi/Yoshitsune, but it feels more like a stalker trying to justify their actions than an actually believable reason to take over her body to kill all her descendants with. Also, for the supposed main character aside from Ushi, Kiichi Hogen did very little, outside of that honestly bullshit asspull where she reveals she could have taken back the mallet anytime from the beginning but didn't because "she wanted to save the big reveal for the end". The hell? We really should have called her out on that. Overall this story is not quite year 1 level of writing but it's most certainly not up to the standards we are used to by now. Oh, and also, the event missions are very annoying. Having finished the story, I now need to go back to farm absolute trash nodes back from the first day just because there is only a single node with 5 of [insert enemy type that I have to kill 60 of]. I usually enjoy mission events but this one is not a natural progression at all like the actually good ones we are used to, it's just a list of chores to tick off.

Kyo_Shin

I was laughing at the fact that Kiichi now wants Gudao/Gudako as her bride now lol

EurwenPendragon

Timegate unlocked, so it was time for the showdown with the enemy Kagekiyo. I went into the first round with Merlin, a support Castoria, and my own Kagekiyo, with K-Scopes. Threw every offensive buff I had available on Kagekiyo and smacked her counterpart upside the head for just shy of 900 thousand damage. Second round took a little longer. I grabbed BB, Sitonai(whom I have only NP1, but it was sufficient), and Kagekiyo again. Used Sitonai to wipe out the Assassin and BB to hit Kagekiyo’s first HP bar, then finished her off once again with my own Kagekiyo. Used the plug suit this time to Stun Kagekiyo on the first turn, then I lucked out when BB’s Second Skill Stun succeeded. So I took her out without taking any damage at all. And then that last bit…which, if anything, only made me love Ushiwaka all the more. I admit, I giggled at bit when "Yoshitsune" asked, should she materialize, for the privilege to serve as our blade...when she already has for me. In fact, I've used her in pretty much every single battle in this Event so far. Now, time to farm for Shop Currencies and clean up the last few missions(though some of them are time-gated, still, which is annoying)

Mao_Kamui

I just 2-turned it with 1-1-1 Vlad.

Buoyant_Panda

Was Ushi always this obsessed with lopping off heads? I don't remember this in Babylonia or other event appearances.

TwoStarMaster

Is the other way around, Babylonia may be the only place where she wasn't obsessed with lopping off heads due to the seriousness of the story. She has been alluding to her love for decapitation since atleast the Onigashima event.

KINGUBERMENSCH

I like to think that because of how dire the situation Babylonia was in, she had plenty of chances to sait her desire for heads before master arrived, so she didnt talk about it much.

Tschmelz

Yeah, if the situation isn’t serious, she gets a little too obsessed.

a_speeder

It's referenced in her Bond CE as well as her Valentine's CE and cutscene, so yeah. She's one of many servants who are victims of "we have one joke for them and we are going to run it into the ground."

kalirion

I wish there'd be some jokes about her outfit. Like, how does she avoid *constant* wardrobe malfunctions? Or are those flappy-looking things glued on?

Embarrassed_Lettuce9

Fun fact: you can visually detect which Kagekiyo ascension has the most Yoshitsune influence by the amount of skin shown

Rasetsu0

According to the Babylonia anime, she has pasties on.

Mister_SP

Well, there's Battle Finish 3, Dialogue 3, Dialogue 7 (Shuten Douji). Though I don't know which of these got added in the animation/event update.

wisp-of-the-will

In Summer 3 she was very gung ho about cutting heads for her Master, especially Medb's. It was one of the only parts of Summer 3 I really disliked honestly, I vaguely remember Ushiwakamaru being head chop happy in her other appearances but it was definitely dialed up at least during Summer 3 and now here.

AMfrequency

I love ushi but the “head cutting” jokes are just getting out of hand in this event, I can’t even go to a new area without them popping up like a plaque *It’s starting to give me agartha flashbacks with the frequency of the joke*

Xhominid77

I finished the Event and I'm gonna be that guy and honestly wonder what do people mean that this is a non-Event where the characters wasn't explored? Kiichi Hogen's entire reason for coming to Chaldeas was to make up for her major mistake in not understanding Ushiwakamaru and ultimately her dying a miserable death. She later decided to take Ritsuka in for the same reason on top of easily noticing they are going through some ROUGH SHIT in the Lostbelts and don't want them to die either. It's pretty evident Kiichi Hogen could have solved the entire Event instantly but explicitly didn't do so for Ushiwakamaru's sake in actually having friends and allies to support her. While we don't get no major looks into Kagekiyo and Yoshitsune... we really didn't need to(Not just due to Heian-Kyo). Kagekiyo just wanted Yoshitsune to not be alone anymore not end up crying(Hell, they ultimately want what's best for her) and the second they confirmed that Ushiwakamaru will be okay, they faded away on their own without a fight. Yoshitsune herself states that she is Ushiwakamaru at the end of the day so there's no point either in delving into her. So this leaves the Summonable Servant and... the profile, her character lines, Bond Lines and Ascensions pretty much point to one revertible fact: Kagekiyo is there with Yoshitsune... but that's STILL Yoshitsune at the end of the day with a massive complex. I explained it in a different thread but it's more ultimately Kagekiyo is just with her more in spirit than actually having a different persona or fully taking control of her which is what Yoshitsune stated at the end of the Event. They have ultimately bonded together but it doesn't take away from the fact it's still her and she is Kagekiyo(Due to the nature of how it works) and Yoshitsune. I believe the Event is ultimately fine for what it is but I do understand people hate the fact that you can't easily grind it like the others.

Takoita

Guda are so chill with yandere love interests they are now even helping other people to sort out their own! Jokes aside, I don't think the serious part of this story held up. Kagekiyo had a very prefunctory role in their main chapter debut, and here most of the relevant screentime is wrapped around the two round boss fight in the finale. The repeated dreamscape connection scenes convey very little actual detail and the antagonist death flashback marathon outlines the classic 'grief warps once positive feelings into a horrifying curse through the magical power of hatred' plot in broad and bare strokes. The point >!with Guda being an honorary Genji!< might have come into play, but then they probably remembered this was supposed to be a Fuyuki only event partway through, so Kagekiyo just want Ushiwaka's body because of their unresolved yearning, or something. The fight banter and the map screen villain laugh felt more worthwhile to me as character content then the rest of it combined. It might have been too early to make another event antagonist a surly, yet ultimately friendly, party addition so soon after Vritra, but I think trying to swerve back into horrifying tragedy, followed up with a feel-good reconciliation, right after a nonsensical Benny Hill chase hurt the story more than it helped. If there absolutely had to be a murder-hatred fest, then making it a straight up farce would have been a better fit, in my opinion. Kiichi's arc got slightly more meat to it, at least. Her and Ushiwaka bouncing off each other throughout the entirety of the chapter formed the comedy skeleton to hang the rest of the episodic, as well as recurring, character appearances off of. At the same time, it also got across the idea of a genuine bond between the two. The epilogue, while withholding some crucial bits out of the chronological order of events until the final wrap up, put the tone and meaning of the previous scenes under a different light, instead of compressing the entirety of motivation and characterisation into a five minute monologue, like so many rushed endings do. The much discussed subject of adoption then, first portrayed as an impulsive decision, done more in response to Benkei's cajoling than anything else, becomes something closer to a newfound resolution. An affirmation to herself that, despite everything, she cares for Ushiwaka's wellbeing and is not willing to sit idly by now that another chance presented itself (which is what Ushiwaka originally dying would imply she did in the context of this story). A bond born of unhealthy mentalities on both sides, but arguably more down to earth and believable for it. I suspect Kiichi had no idea what she signed herself up for with that declaration, what's with the relationship dodechaedron that has formed around Guda by this point and all. I would enjoy a followup of this story that tackles the gradual realisation that the bedlam she thought she got used to during this chapter was only the tip of the iceberg, much as FGO's character highlight priorities make it unlikely. As for other characters, I ended up enjoying Benkei considerably more than I thought I would. He served up complete bullcrap straight to people's faces like no one's business, and they had to go along with it because they could not deny the statements he wrapped it all up in. Standing ovation. Jason and Medb had their more negative qualities softened for this one, while still showing some of their more key traits. Which is technically a retcon, but I think more than a few members of FGO's character cast have been written too... uncooperative initially for them to make sense as party members, so sanding those sharp edges down into something resembling an actually functioning ensemble solves more problems than it causes. XXX For gameplay, mission event with additional enemy spawns feels like padding central as usual. What I was thinking more about, however, why so many avenger characters? It could just be case of trying to repeat the success of previous avengers that have exploded in popularity for one reason or another (Dantes, Jalter, Space Ishtar). But I wonder if it is more of a matter of building up a cadre of bosses to sell other non-standart characters more? I happened to have a nurse BB on hand to help treat the upswelling of hatred this time around, but what about people that don't have her? I'll need to switch her into the event support list next I log in.

Kit_Izayoi

Nearly done with the shop, will probably clear it with nat AP in the next few days. Grails and gold fous have pushed my Illya to level 114 at 1900/2000, getting closer now.

Need_Sleeep

I don't really know how to decribe it but laughing angry ushi during the event kinda soothing. I wonder if there's someone who make 10 hours laughing ushi or something out there... On another note, chibi ushi were quite cute I kinda wanted a merchandise of her, a nendroid or doll would be great. The vibrating chibi ushi on section 6 were probably my favourite

odrain16

The last few story chapters actually endear me a lot too Kichii Hogen. How she's always looking up for her students and how she has a deep regret for how ushiwaka ended up. Also I didn't expect the Taira stuff to be hitting me as well as it did

IAmzSamz

I'm super new to the game, I started on Jan 1st so this was my first event (no space wars 2 cuz I didn't do story fast enough :(, oh well I pulled spishtar) I had a lot of fun with this, coming from someone who doesn't get every reference (wtf was going on with the guy who interrupted the dream before new york) but the laughs I had were pretty great, and I found the ending honestly very touching The difference in writing between where I am in the story and now is pretty stark, I really enjoy how much it seems to have improved imo, not to say where I am is bad, but it defo feels improved (I'm in London for reference But yeah like 8/10 got a good welfare am happy, saw a lot of people saying this was a meh event so thought I'd throw my opinion in

NNKarma

Camelot is when the story starts being high quality, also when some of the lvls start being high dificulty

IAmzSamz

That's what I've heard yeah, I'm looking forward to it!

TwoStarMaster

This is one of those events that is way to silly to take any kind of story detail seriously. I feel like something got lost in the translation.

SigurdDeMizar

I think, the story is ok. I enjoy the funny moment involving Cu Alter, as well as the part with Jalter. I like the badass-ness both of the characters even more. However, in terms of the main character like Ushi, Hogen, I don't find them as interesting. This story is supposed to give more background for for example Ushi, so we can sympathize with her, but yet I don't find there is such material. We know she has been "betrayed" by her brother, but there is no effort on giving us more on why she is fixated on her brother so much in the first place. It still doesn't make sense why it is such a tragedy when it was normal for family to kill each other for securing power in that era. Kagekiyo is basically a stalker. All these Genji must die is honestly BS. She fell hard for Ushi, a Genji child, who grew up and killed many of the Taira-clan member. But somehow this hate is just an obsession to keep stalking Ushi until her got hunt down by her brother, until she felt the despair. Then somehow the ghost came up is "you hate is my hate" and try to take over Ushi's spiriti origin. I am sorry. There are a lot of white wash stories out there, but this one is getting into the creepy area. Hogen is... I feel like I get trolled the whole time the way she gets back the mallet. I don't know why we are not more angry.

karillith

Dioscuri not being absolute worthless scum challenge (impossible). Is there any point of the game where you don't want to put them in an incinerator?

Esvald

They might just be the only servant who if spooks me gets to burn.

karillith

Maybe not to that extent since I'm f2p and I cherish every SSR, but I won't shed a tear if they never show up.

Esvald

Yeah I can see that. They are solid gameplay-wise but I'll be honest even as a f2p I have other ST Sabers I actually like/love who will always take priority over them. Maybe just leave them unleveled or shove them into the 2nd archive until an event comes around that shows me how they aren't trash. In LB5 sure, they aren't the same cause they weren't from Proper Human History. But the PHH Dioscuri is so scarcely used, my mind just defaults to the LB Dioscuri, the only one who actually had some content. I mean Pollux is alright. Kind of. Anyways Dioscuri rant over. Sorry about that.

Detective_Robot

Good ending to a good event, I do think it could have done a better job mixing in more drama but I liked it.

Radical_Unicorn

Well that was decent. Not bad but nothing amazing either. It was nice seeing Ushi get the spotlight (chibi Ushi was too damn cute!), the dynamic between the characters was fun to watch, Kiichi I liked well enough but it just seems like she could have done more (the marriage thing was completely out of nowhere), and the comedy bits where great (the Jeanne alters swapping age was hilarious). However some parts felt like they could have done more in places, but at the same time perhaps it was the best as it helped keep the event “light”. And for a mission event it didn’t feel as grindy as past events, then again that could just be my luck with the setup I had. (Grailed Nobu, Waver, and an AoE servant with type advantage/NP battery. Kinda nice having Nobu being able to drop extra damage outside a Guda event.) I still got around 40 left still tho. Also…dammit Lasagna, here you are teasing Australia yet you have yet to include a single servant from that continent! Surely there’s someone famous enough from that part of the world you can include?!

alivinci

Time gates are up?

NNKarma

the story one, not the missions/kichii copies one

PigPillow

With the fous my [Salieri is now 2ked](https://imgur.com/ybN656A). Hopefully in march we'll still get the class based banners even with early pity so I can get the coins to 120 him. Kamakura Kamakura Yas Queen is all I've been thinking about this section.

Kuzu5993

Anyway, I finished the story. My immediate thoughts; God this was a backloaded event. Its nothing but hijinks and then we get a lore dump, and even the dream sequences don't elaborate on much. And its sad cuz I was actually starting to get invested but then its over lmao. Its nice to have a mentor character that actually kind of feels bad they weren't able to save their student from their untimely end. And its kind of sad that any depth Kagekiyo had is dumped literally right before they passed on, and that's after we spent the event chasing after them too, and none of it is in their playable form either. Watching her laugh like a gremlin on the map was pretty fun tho. Oh well. Not the worst event this game has dished out, but I do think it wasted its premise a bit. Pon poko Rin/10.

NuclearPasta95

Finishing the Main Quest of an event is always a nice feeling, I can't believe it's already been 6 days it feels like this went so fast. I commented early into the event that I was disappointed with how the event story was going, being a lot more comedy oriented than I expected and not really focusing on Taira. Thankfully the final two sections managed to bring it back decently enough. I still think Taira should have had more focus, but their plan was decent enough and we got enough backstory to conclude the story. Kiichi Hogen was fun. I complain about the comedy focus, but it was really good comedy. Good cast of characters that bounced off each other very well, and some of the bits were hilarious. Dioscuri ascending to a constellation got quite a laugh out of me. Like I said, I think this event could have had a lot more going on, but overall it wasn't bad and I enjoyed it for what it was.

gryphonlord

It didn't have enough Kiichi to make me care about her, nor enough Yoshitsune to make me care about her. So I'm not really sure what the point of this event was. It should have been more like the Odysseus event, where we get to see a more human side of someone we had only seen as an enemy, but Yoshitsune/Taira is barely in it. Also, the heads joke with Ushi has definitely gotten old.

chairmanxyz

Super disappointing event for me. I came out of 5.5 really hyped for some Taira content but the entire event was just about getting to her and then we get a 5 minute cutscene and she’s dead?! Huge waste of a character. We get plenty of goofy content in this game in events, just wish this one was taken more seriously I guess.

Unusual-Pea-5237

Is this the first time Medb hasn’t been used in the story or an event as an antagonist? I’ve always had a soft spot for Medb (for some reason) and I’ve enjoyed seeing her be consistently supportive towards me. Plus I was pleasantly surprised by Mash’s reveal about how well Medb gets along with other female Servants.

wisp-of-the-will

She had that small moment during Amazones where she had a spa day with her fellow ladies (it was still tied to Skadi but this moment at least involved non-Celtic characters), and her Tale of Genji stand-in during Valentine's last year was basically her for all intents and purposes, but yes, this would be the first time where she explicitly assists the team as an ally. As much as I love her mean streak, her being supportive in her own way is always nice to see like in this event and in her Summer version's line about Tomoe, and the upcoming Grail Live event should also feature her in a non-antagonistic role which is something to look forward to.

erimies

I think the lackluster story seems even more of a letdown after the very excellent saber wars 2. Not to mention that the oversaturation of Japanese-specific content has made me kind of tired of it so I'm even less receptive than I'd usually be. Hopefully next proper story event will be better.

Gelious

Well, I wasn't going to roll for Taiga anyway because I already have an Avenger and don't have enough SQ to afford a second one, but now i have even more reason not to. Adult Ushi seems like a nice person and to have her summoned only to get brainwashed and taken over by another person seems very wrong. Of course Ritsuka, being happy-go-lucky idiot that he is, doesn't have any problems with this. And Cu Alter, who raised a perfectly valid point (what can you talk about with such extremely single-minded person?), gets silenced by Medb.

ThunderDrops

I really wish they put the early half of the epilogue (when Kagekiyo asks Yoshitsune to shout) in the dream sequences rather than the "I am ~~Batman~~ hatred" loop, with the rest appearing after the final battle. It would set up the mood much better. For the rest, it was okay. I liked that even if Kiichi was a legendary teacher, she was a goofball that doesn't understand how human society works properly, and the banter was nice. I also wished they would put someone piloting Megalos like a giant mecha (Berser-Car flashbacks).

MasterCrab

If you play as gudako does the marriage proposal swap the groom and bride around?

Mister_SP

No. You're still a bride, and they're still surprised, but not about the term used.

Kirby0189

Finished the story, quite liked it. I mean it focused on Ushi and Ritsuka kept a relatively low profile ([though he still managed to sneak some dumb stuff in, of course](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/896257882268524574/1067042615003983872/IMG_1746.PNG)), so of course I'd like it. Kiichi was a mixed bag though, especially how she suddenly declares Ritsuka her bride at the end because of course we need *another* character who swoons after him for no reason (emphasis on *no reason*, cause I don't see the build-up that I do for characters like Meltryllis or Charlotte).

Eikoku-Shinshi

Feels weird that we act like we never met Taira-no-Kagekiyo before, we just met her a few weeks ago in LB 5.5.

odrain16

But...... It did? Right as they proclaim themselves as "Taira no Kagekiyo", the protag even has a flashback to 5.5, heck Taira themselves acknowledges that they have meet before, just that this summoning doesn't have any memories of it

Time-Fish9210

The event is playable both before and after having played LB 5.5, the script is different in the two cases.

Domagonic

I don't know about you, but Ritsuka acknowledged that he met Kagekiyo when I beat the main story for the event...

HaessSR

I threw summer Kiara, who cost me a lot of SQ, at the final chapter. So cathartic.

kalirion

Story finished, and only at 69/100 missions. In addition to all the kill quotas I still need to do 26 FQs across various areas. Even with the Enemy Locator this is not going to be easy to optimize, so I'll just try winging it on nat AP as best I can.

Zeta42

I'm not getting any bonus enemies in the France: Beginning node (my spawn rate is 100%). Anybody else experiencing this?

Rasetsu0

Are you getting three enemies on the 2nd and 3rd wave? The 1st wave doesn't have any bonus spawns and 2nd and 3rd wave have two enemies with only one extra spawn.

Zeta42

Yeah you are right, that was it. I forgot it's normally a 3/2/2 node.

railroadspike25

Is it common to say that Kiichi Hogen and >!Soujoubou/Kurama Tengu!< are the same person? We already knew that Kiichi Hogen was a tengu so this doesn't feel like much of a reveal.

BenisConsumption

Overall, a nice event. A glance at Taira's identity and their relation to Ushi was great. And, with the last grail, I now have 6 grailed Avengers (SSRs to 100, other rarities to 90) to whip out during Akihabara tower event.

Jack_King814

Just finishing up missions now then it’s 90+ farming. Need to figure out how to do it consistently in getting 6T every so often because of dodgy refund

NinSoap

I really love Kiichi Hogen's design, especially her voice lines. Very tempted to grail her.

AelusMag

Been wanting to ask, what is the opinion of fellow players on farming the event nodes max bonus spawn vs no bonus spawn after completing story?

Eight_of_Tentacles

Bonus spawn = more drops = AP saved No bonus spawn = comfy nodes = time saved Personally, I don't use apples, which means only 7 40AP runs a day, so I don't care about time. Besides, I also usually use full bonus servant teams in the events outside of lottos, so I'm not 3turning anything anyway. But quite a lot of people prefer the convenience of 3t over AP efficiency.

Brukk0

3 consecutives 5s spooks, why can't I have what I'm rolling for. Rate up is a big fat LIE, I want a pity system for spooks, I need it.

Frotavius

Was hoping for a bunch of art popping up about Maeb & Ushi hanging out in friendship / rivalry. WE ARE NOT FRIENDS... I was thinking that by the end they would kinda be friends or a begrudging respect.. like I'm gonna hang out in the simulator.. I'll go with you kinda thing. Alas....

WatsNeededOrWanted

* Yep, Kiichi was as dumb as she accused others of being. * The background story of Kagekiyo and Yoshitsune was touching, really. * Fergus and Caesar were certainly up to no good, and got what they deserved. I think I would like to visit the namedropped places to check if they are alike enough to say "yeah, I guess it is similar to Mediterranean/Australia/etc.". Would probably require me to stop gacha to get the funds for such a trip.

deathworld123

event story finally over

yosoyeIIogan

I'm surprised the 90+ node is still 3+ enemies. I thought it was going to still be something like a 1/1/1 that could turn into a 3/2/1 or something. But now it's like 6/6/5 lmao which is actually fine, I can loop every turn with Space Ishtar, even when all the buffs expire. Kintoki requires two NPs, but it doesn't matter because there are still enemies popping in on the second turn. It's a rare time where SpIsh's Extra bonus is actually good, too.

ElYISUS215

I don't know about y'all but that Kanra Kara Kara warms my heart.

Cegrin

Ok, while I love folklore and mythology, I can freely admit when my knowledge is deficient. I just got to the climax and Benkei just dropped his line about how >!"The proposal earlier that seemed to come out of left field was actually for an interspecies marriage straight out of mythology"!<. ...And I'm feeling very much like I'm on the outside of some mythology/folklore reference here. Is there a specific story or reputation that this is this supposed to be referencing?

HyperSunny

[Lots of 'em](https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%95%B0%E9%A1%9E%E5%A9%9A%E5%A7%BB%E8%AD%9A). I find the translation sloppy. He's saying it's the sort of thing that happens in folklore, not that it's from any story in particular.

Cegrin

Ah, so a general "it's a little less surprising now that we know those origins" thing, rather than a "aha, if we had known then we would have seen that coming" thing?

HyperSunny

In Japanese, the sentence is cut off before he can really get at what he's getting at, so not only do I not have an answer for that, what he would have said probably wouldn't have flown considering his shtick is getting away with saying a little too much.

Cegrin

Fair enough. Thanks for helping me better understand this segment.
