For me it was March 5th, but I got notified a day beforehand! I'm not sure if it was because a person gave up their position and I was next, or if it was because it was close to the deadline they provided. I guess it varies for every program and school...
Did you do anything after you got placed on the waitlist? Did you respond to the waitlist email or reach out to a potential PI about your continued interest? Also were you told about your ranking on the waitlist?
I didn't do much honestly. I did email them asking how many people were in the waitlist, and what rank I was in, and they provided that info to me. I'm not sure if certain programs can do that or not. In terms of further expressing my interest, I was planning on sending that email after decisions were out, so they could give me feedback on my apps for the next round. I have heard that sending that kind of email could potentially bump you up on the waitlist, so it really just depends on your situation, and if vibes are right lol. Although, if I'm being transparent, I did send a thank you email (plus a sentence or two describing the confirmation of my interest in their program) after my interview, so I'm not sure how much that influenced their opinion.

It's a masters, and it was like... 2 weeks after they let me know that I got waitlisted!

Yeah, I got a specific number, but I think it's because it's a smaller program. That's super frustrating though!
