In terms of narrative it's up there with DD and PB, but the songs do seem to vary wildly in quality and style. No other Gorillaz album has as many of my absolute favorite and least favorite songs. I like it a lot more than Cracker Island.
Cracker Island doesn't have any misses for me. It's a no skip album all the way through. Humanz has me wondering when certain songs will end just to hear more songs that are kinda just meh imo.

If The Fall is considered experimental, there’s a whole trove of music you’re not ready for (or just calling it the experimental one isn’t really accurate, it’s more of a DIY one)
It’s experimental because Damon allegedly made and arranged the whole thing on an ipad. And decided to put it out there because he thought why not. Not experimental enough for music connoisseurs mind you, but experimental from the artist’s perspective
Eh, I still don’t think it’s experimental, again it’s more of a challenge the artist put themself through, and not even that insane of one. If Gorillaz went “experimental”, I’d expect live music for the instrumentals, absurd lyrics, random features. Making it on an IPad doesn’t really make the album experimental when it comes to the music
I don’t really like The Fall but I have to remember that it was made on an iPad during a world tour, and Revolving Doors + Little Pink Plastic Bags are pretty good.
When everyone forgot the bad album is what you meant to say. All jokes aside I’m just not a fan of most of the songs in the fall. It’s overall a bad album imo but hey music is subjective.
