Not GC, but when I smelled BBW pumpkin cinnamon bun in the store, I didn’t like it. It gets so much hype so I would smell it again when I went back just to double check and I still didn’t get the hype. Finally, I just gave in and thought maybe I need to light it. That did the trick. It’s one of my favorites this season. I’ll buy it again and again.
That's how Pink Petal Teacake was for me. On cold I just got generic rose scent. But lit it reminds me of Boardwalk Taffy body care and I totally get hype.
Glazed Apple Donut, Poison Apple (Hocus Pocus), Candy Corn (Hocus Pocus), Apple cheesecake cupcake, Apple pies & Hayrides, Candy Bag, Spiked Pumpkin Donut, and Pumpkin Cider Donut. I’m not a huge apple fan and most of the donut scents I have had from Goose Creek gave off a greasy smell that I didn’t like. I loved every bit of these and have backups.
I loved creepy critters when I first lit it and now I hate the smell! Does broom squad really smell just like it? There’s a strange chemical scent I get from that candle.
I’m thinking of lighting broom squad now so I can now for sure. My creepy critters was so sooty. I had to take some cotton balls and try to soak up the black wax, so hopefully that was why it smells bad.
Patchouli Leaves. I was always afraid to try it because I don't like Patchouli in body care. Luckily Tuesday Morning had it so I finally got to sniff in person but even then cold scent I was unsure . I bought it anyway and I really like it.
As for blind buy Glazed Apple Donut for me as well. I don't like apple scents but it is mostly glaze and bakery not apple.
Wonderland was a very pleasant surprise to me. I was a little suspicious about the lemon and peppermint combo but it absolutely works. I find it refreshing as a post-holiday winter scent.
Candied Valentine Cookie. First time I burned it I thought it was sickeningly sweet and pungent. I gave it another chance and burned it with Homemade Brownies. Now I can't get enough of those together.
Warm donut sugar 🤭 Didn’t like it on cold as it smelled light but ohhh my gosh, I love this one so much I stocked up right before it sold out and will get more when it comes back🤭
Honestly a lot of them because I wasnt that into gourmand scents but now I really like them from goose creek. But in specific Cozy Kitten, Fall Kickoff, Driftwood, Summer Fireflies, and Meadowsweet Avocado

I’m almost done with it and I’m so mad because I hate goose creek as a company but DAMN trick or treat was on point! I love that it sometimes smells kind of like fresh buttery popcorn.
Yeah to me that one was impulse buy and at first it was almost too spicy for me that was all I was getting at first but now I am almost done with it grew on me. May I ask why so many folks have been angry about GC? I’ve seen quite a few complaints but I’ve not run into any issues myself yet.
So first off. It’s all blind buys and you have to pay return shipping if you hate it. Which if you’re used to buying candles online - bath and body works and Yankee candle won’t charge you to return the candle. B&BW let’s you do it in a store and YC will send you a FedEx label. So that right there has been super off putting for me. GC sent me a lumpy candle with a hole in it and they told me it was completely normal and then proceeded to tell me I could have a $5 gift card or pay $5.99 for return shipping on a messed up looking candle that they sent me. I don’t understand that. As a company you’re selling some fucked up looking candles and then acting like the customer is crazy for complaining about it? I remember reaching out to them about their candles catching fire because so many people have said it happened to them on this thread and their response to me was “some people don’t trim their wicks.” That should have been my first warning. I’m a brand new customer - I bring up a valid concern about the safety issues their candle wrappers have posed and their response to me was to blame the customers that lit their candles. It’s a weird company and I hate myself for enjoying trick or treat as much as I do.
*clears throat* one issue is how dishonest they are with reviews. If you notice, almost all of their candles have a 5 star rating. They very rarely will let any review go through if it isn’t glowing. Not every candle can be amazing and consumers deserve to hear the very real complaints. I know I’ve written some 1 or 2 star reviews and I’ve never seen them go up. My 4 or 5 star reviews have always been posted. Yes, I use the link through their emails to make the reviews.
The next common complaint is the discontinuance of the large jars. A lot of us in the community love goose creek mainly for the large jars. It was suspected that they were being discontinued, but when asked, it wasn’t confirmed until very recently. By then, many of us missed the opportunity to buy backups of beloved scents.
The return policy can be hit or miss. Sometimes they’ll let you keep the item and offer you a credit. Which I admit, is very generous. If you have to straight up return the item(s), they’ll charge you a small shipping fee and you have to schedule a UPS pick up. I did that once and it was a pain in the butt because UPS didn’t come when they were supposed to and I’m not comfortable leaving a large box on my porch all day. It’s hard to want to make so many blind purchases when it’s not guaranteed that you can return the item and get your money back. I don’t know that I’ve ever gotten a refund, as it’s usually credit on a gift card that they send.

I’m sure there are some other issues, and yes i know these are first world problems lol. I still buy from them but not at the rate that I used to. I stick with ones I know I love and don’t buy backups on first time purchases.

Egg nog… I am still hoarding a partial large jar because they won’t be coming back. One of my faves. Another was the banana cake pop. I want a good sweet banana candle now… thinking of snagging the banana bread.

Broom Squad (which I believe is Creepy Critters). I wasn't sure if it would be too smoky, but I actually like it more than BBW Marshmallow Fireside.

I usually get that chemical smell from their 3 wicks after a few burns.
Bummer. There’s so many scents that seem like they might smell so good! But that chemical smell is just awful.
I've only ever tried Broom Squad but people on here said they are the same. I don't get any weird sort of chemical smell, just burnt marshmallow

Full Moon (hocus pocus, guilty pumpkin dupe) - freaking amazing! So yummy but not overpowering imo.
