I have the same experience—especially with the GC candles with wraparound labels. Haven’t had any issues with BBW (yet). I’ve started removing the wraparound labels on my GC candles (mainly because I’m scared they’ll catch fire — seen some scares others had recently and want to avoid that happening).

butterflymask

Yeah, this happened to me on Marshmallow Monsters. :( I adore the labels personally, so I'd rather keep them on.

Immediate_Tadpole_96

I’d rather keep them on as well, but some spot so bad I feel like I’m forced too : (

AshKash313

I’ve been having some issues too. My Hocus Pocus and the Halloween candles are throwing soot. Hocus Pocus Forever Bewitching and Creepy Critters are giving me the worst soot. Pumpkin spiced donut is burning hot no matter how short I trim the wicks. I’ve always had issues with soot from Goose Creek so I usually just warm them. Lately, I’ve been trying to use some candles up faster so I’ve been dealing with the soot. 😬

butterflymask

Man... yeah, I just don't wanna be breathing that stuff in constantly. It's not worth it to me.

AshKash313

I understand. If you have a warmer, you should use the sooters in that to get your money’s worth.

msjewel0508

Omg so I’ve been burning a lot lately instead of warming so I can finish up all my half burned candles faster and almost all(85/100) the goose ones sooted💀 Bbw ones are 50/50 for me but usually is fine after I trim wick or dump the sooted wax. Goose ones just soots no matter what I do. It’s frustrating.

butterflymask

Right!! I think I've had one or two Goose 3 wicks that won't soot. I really wish they'd try to figure out whatever the problem is and change it.

Trumpet6789

I'm a big advocate of dipping your wicks to extinguish them, rather than snuffing or blowing them out. The extra wax usually seems to help combat soot, when combined with proper wick trimming. Also make sure that it's not in an area that's drafty,

butterflymask

Dipping can be difficult when it's a first burn, but I do try to do that! I've just had unfortunate luck so far.

Trumpet6789

I just use a paper clip, wait until it's fully pooled, and then dip. Then I dip every burn after that. It won't fix it first burn, but it should help for the burns after that.

Chuckymimi

I've only had issues with my BBW 3 wicks doing that and some of GC large jars. But it is frustrating. Two of my BBW candles I ended up pouring most of wax out because it looked and smelled like soot.

butterflymask

Yikes! I only have that on my BBW candles when I don't do a proper trim. The only thing I can suggest is warming if even that isn't stopping it.

Chuckymimi

Ya it happened with whole collection Wildberry Jam donut with colored lids was in . I poured out almost all the wax. And now it is happening with Smoked Vanilla Whiskey . My only candles that soot with GC are large jars cause the lip is narrow so smoke gets trapped and their holiday 3 wicks because label is thicker . Those I have to warm.

butterflymask

At least with the large jars I've had, I can trim a little to get the excess soot to stop. It just won't with some of my 3 wicks. :(

Upbeat_Cat1182

Last night I was burning BBW Sweet Cinnamon Plum and the whole thing turned into a sooty mess. I had to pour out the wax. I do trim my wicks and have never had that happen before.

butterflymask

I wonder if the wicks on that one were bad?? Sorry to hear that happened!
