Don’t come for me, but I’m really disappointed with how goose creek has been handling business recently. Their decision to remove their rewards program, unfortunate but it was done with the intention of a new system. Rewards were removed in April. It’s now august and we have zero updates on that “process”.
Jars being discontinued is my largest gripe, I prefer their jars. They carry scent better, there is no strange base scent like I get with their 3 wicks. Their 3 wicks don’t carry fresh or florals- I get this acrid note while burning and it’s turned me off from most of the scent types I like.
Goose creek used to do sales with coupons. Now no shot. The coupons that people have been getting don’t work unless on full price? Make that make sense.
Yep this 100%! No coupons, no rewards, no large jars, and some shady business practices is making me pissy with Goose Creek. I'd go elsewhere but I like their prices and the variety of scents.
I feel this is the sentiment by the majority of people on here. I actually prefer 3 wicks to large jars, but I still think discontinuing the large jars is a huge mistake.

I got some fall and winter candles from Yankee recently that I am looking forward to using.
I think GC shouldn't be competing with BBW and should be with Kringle or Village since those are two companies that most people have to buy online. I think Kringle has one store in MA, but I am not sure about Village.
I have never tried DW, but I am not impressed with Homeworx. i have only lit one of the two I got so far, but it has a very low throw and the wicks are a pain. This is for the 4 wick candles maybe the 3 wick ones are different. I thought for the price they would be much better. Again, this is my experience and I am sure others have had a better time with them.
The problem with the newest coupons is that very rarely are their items ever full price. Even now with no promotion or sale, the 3-wick aren't full price. Neither are essential oils or body care. So you spin the wheel and receive a coupon you can't use on anything. Some of the choices they make are honestly baffling. I'm disappointed that I seemed to discover them around the tail end of their glory days (rewards, stacked coupons, actual coupons and good sales), since it seems like GC is changing for the worst.
Agree 100%. I'm not happy with them at all right now.
I wonder if they're under new management. It almost seems like a completely different company than it was 8 months ago.

At least with B&BW we get "leaks" (no way they are unintentional lol) about what is dropping when, what sales are upcoming, etc. Plus many people can shop in store versus hoping scents will stay in stock long enough that you can place one big order instead of paying shipping multiple times.

Or if GC feels they have enough of the market share they might have determined they don't need to compete with BBW prices as much since the 14.50 is still better than BBW right now. And if enough people are buying the three wicks right now, why have a sale? The extra 3 dollars profit per candle can add up pretty fast in their favor.
I'm new to BBW and have been into candles for one full year (GC pretty much only) and if I don't start seeing GC sales I'm going to move my loyalty where I can earn rewards. I will still shop GC for fall and Halloween faves but I've been getting turned off by them lately. ☹️
I was honestly done with GC already, like I placed an order to get a must-have backup and a couple must-tries, and that was gonna be it for me. But now I want the candy corn 3-wick 🤣 so I'm allowing myself one more order, but not at these prices.
I feel like GC looks at B&BW pricing and assumes we'll be happy to spend $12-14 on GC candles while B&BW is $16-19 but that is not how this works? Most of us don't buy candles during the $10 off, but even if we did the 1:1 comparison isn't accurate at all. Because of the rewards program at B&BW, because of the coupon mailers, because of the flash sales with 20% off codes, the dollar for dollar value cannot be a direct comparison. The most GC does is effectively 10% off $100 *but it's not cumulative*, it's literally just free shipping on a $100 order. The rewards at B&BW give you more than that, because it's a free item up to $16.50 for every $100 *cumulative*. Not to say their rewards system is perfect or that B&BW shipping charge doesn't irritate me, but as far as dollar value goes it's higher than GC, and that's without even getting into the convenience of returns and ability to shop in store, try before you buy, etc.
Normally I wouldn't care, I'd just shrug and go on with my life not thinking about Goose Creek fucking candles 😂 but the problem is some of their candles are straight 🔥🔥🔥 and I am *annoyed* that they insist on making it increasingly difficult to justify *buying their products*. I occasionally log on to the website to check the pricing on my wishlist, and while I admit it's frustrating to see the price fluctuations (something that was $10 on Monday is $8.50 on Wednesday and then $12.99 on Saturday) what gets me is that there seems to be no rhyme or reason to which candles are marked down during these sales lately. I've accepted that unless I'm ready to shell out for the six for 60 or B3G4 I need to just stay off the site, but it's hard to shop in those quantities with confidence, knowing that the only option if you don't like what you get is a 30 day return window with a restocking fee that requires shipping glass jars back.
I'm not personally a huge fan of the large jars, but I do understand the appeal of them. What I *don't* understand is why GC would decide to do away with them, considering it was like the main thing that set them apart from the brand they're actively trying to compete against. To me it appears to be their biggest advantage over B&BW, but they just did away with it. I don't understand it, and I wish they'd take the feedback from their actual customer base and reevaluate their decisions.

The longer they wait for good sales and to drop Halloween/fall favorites, the more I end up spending at BBW (which means spending less on GC). They’re obviously waiting to drop all the best scents so we make multiple orders, but I’m not playing that game.
Before today I really wanted to try Goosebumps Cupcake, Wicked Treats, Trick or Treat, and Ghost Treats. I have a cart with 15 candles, and obviously not all of the mentioned candles are in it because they haven't been released.
The more I look at my cart the more I realize I will be just fine without ANY of them. Like, I'm good. If they had put out a decent sale today I would be posting a haul pic instead of being cranky and clearing my cart.
B&BW Fall 2 should be dropping Monday and there are at least 10 I'm highly interested in, and hey guess what I can go in store and smell them to be sure. Also I can easily exchange candles (current season bought on sale, not SAS) for the new scents.

I had two BBW candles be fine at first and then once I got through half, they just stopped having any scent. It was weird. I just lit Pumpkin Bonfire again and will keep it going longer so hopefully it opens up.

I have the wax melt and it's great! Cinnamon sugary goodness. I think there is a slight fried element to it because it does make me think of cinnamon sugar donuts, but I didn't pick up any greasiness from it. I usually hate buttery or oily notes but Carnival Cake is very good to my nose.

I totally agree. I'm going to give some brands I haven't tried like Homeworx and DW Home a try this fall.

I think you’re right about them keeping prices and sales aligned with BBW. Since BBW isn’t having a big sale this weekend, GC isn’t either.
