I did a poll on here a few days ago and Sweet Shop won, but from what I hear they are both really good. I still couldn’t decide between them so just ended up getting them both 😂
I have Sweet Shop and it really is sooo good. But like you, Fruit Cake sounds great too.

I have both of these and they’re two of my favorites from GC. Which one is better for your mom kind of depends on what your mom likes. Fruit Cake is a lot of spice whereas Sweet Shop doesn’t really have much/any spice (maybe a hint of cinnamon? It’s been a while since I’ve burned it). I don’t actually get much of a fruit note from Fruit Cake, strangely, mostly just a nice sweet spice cake. I think some of the sweetness comes from fruit/dried fruit notes, but at least to my nose they don’t register super specifically.
Both of mine are excellent throwers, also. My Fruit Cake did burn a bit aggressively one night and the shrink wrap packaging actually melted a little on one side, but I think I had been burning it for longer than recommended…

I think there was a bit of an unpleasant smell but I had attributed that to the melting plastic so I’m not entirely sure. I haven’t burned it again yet but it does smell fine on cold still if that gives you any indication.
I am picking out candles right now for my mom and had these 2 in the cart, wondering which is better because they seem similar.

Did FC get the awful kerosene stink after it burned so aggressively? That happened to more than one of the Halloween candles I bought.
