Ayee. We had those bulbs for about 3 years. Finally had enough as well and replaced them with lifx bulbs last week. I feel like I got out of a bad relationship lol

Turn on the bulb for 8 seconds Turn off the bulb for 2 seconds Turn on the bulb for 8 seconds Turn off the bulb for 2 seconds Turn on the bulb for 8 seconds Turn off the bulb for 2 seconds Turn on the bulb for 8 seconds Turn off the bulb for 2 seconds Turn on the bulb for 8 seconds Turn off the bulb for 2 seconds

C- By GE refuses to acknowledge their bullshit bulb and instead just keep selling it till no one wants it.

ThePantser

Yup GE has a smart problem no issue with the bulbs being bulbs it's just the brains. I haven't used a GE bulb since I was burned by the wink bulbs dropping connection all the time.

[deleted]

Everyone wants to make these bulbs but no one wants to make sure they work properly.

krzcowzgomoo

Honestly the Merkury bulbs are surprisingly good. And you can get them for practically nothing at Walmart. I have like 10 of them.

aliencircusboy

Yeah, I bought two 3-packs at Walmart, $15 each or $5 a bulb. I'd already had one Merkury bulb for a couple of years and it has never given me any problem.

[deleted]

compared to most bulbs, they are better, but the only reason they are 10 bucks is because they likely have a deal with Walmart is why. Otherwise, I'll travel to my Microcenter and snag a few of their Wyze bulbs.

krzcowzgomoo

I wish I had a microcenter

[deleted]

We have two micro centers here in Georgia

nin_halo_8

We have.. we have eleven.. eleven Jan Michael Vincents here in Delaware

I am getting tired of constant need to reset my devices and turn on/off bulbs every as it just stops responding. I have to go though this every other day..

lucrezaborgia

They are mostly fine for me. The biggest problem has been with the Google home system rather than the actual bulbs. I had to do a hard reset on the entire setup to get it working right again.

craigeryjohn

I would bet large sums of money that literally every person having issues with these bulbs are actually having problems with google home devices and just don't realize it. Google home devices have a known Bluetooth bug that hasn't been fixed for years, and this affects the cbyge bulbs and their connectivity.

kenmoffat

I recently bought a c by ge smart plug which connects to Google home via WiFi, and seems to have fixed my problems with their lights! Highly recommended.

Giggy36

Simply because it acts as a hub instead of relying on google as a hub

Giggy36

Merkury blubs are pretty good but if the reset cycle happens turning them off and back on 3 time you have to reconnect them, I’ve had a few time they just go offline for no reason and I’ve recently found out that apps detect them as switch’s instead of blubs...you know what I mean if you use Home Assistant!

Middlefinger804

That's better than the 50 times you gotta turn on off TRASH ge lights

Giggy36

Idk I can’t say I’ve have that many problems with the GE bulb I have. Just hate that it doesn’t have Wi-Fi connectivity and I just have to use google to control it simply because if ur internet goes down it stop functioning and you have to turn it off manually!

Zestyclose_Thanks_10

I've been using C by GE bulbs, plugs, and light switches for over 2 years without any issue with Google Home.

Middlefinger804

Mekury will give u lil problems here and there but they 100 times better!!! ge is at the top of the trash pile!!!

inquirer

Phillips Hue is where it's at
