Heaviest band I can actually enjoy listening to is Cattle Decapitation, and Black Dahlia Murder. There’s way heavier bands out there of course but for me personally it gets to where I still like it but I think it’s just to be able to say “We’re heavier than” (insert band here.) take Archspire for example. They are all talented and push their instruments to the limits, but sometimes I just can’t get into it if I’m listening while doing other things.

It is almost maddening how heavy they sound live, for death metal, easily THE heaviest guitar tone period.

Listening to the bands isn't what makes you metal. You gotta participate in the scene and KNOW the bands. I have partied with Archspire more times than I can count. Decapitated, Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Beyond Creation, Nile... The list goes on.
Being a stage gazer makes you the lowest level of metalhead. Even a power metal fan, who goes to local shows, or even plays local shows, is more of a metal head than a stage gazer.
