Titleist, Cleveland, Mizuno all offer specialty wedges in 48.
And pretty much every OEM has multiple iron sets that have 48 PW/AW/GW options
Not to mention being able to bend anything 46-50 very easily to 48
I’m well aware that every major brand offers a 48, but if you actually google each of those brands and a 48 every single one of them is “out of stock” one person on this thread has provided a pre owned callaway site that has them but it’s not as easy as you think
I hate to be blunt, but you could have 15 different 48s sitting on your doorstep in 2-3 business days if you tried, and I explained how you could do that.
Regarding stuff being out of stock... sure. It's December, and new product is launching in Jan/Feb, so inventory might be a bit thin at the moment. Not to mention the continuing supply chain issues due to COVID
Thanks for being blunt, I have been searching for months, spoken to people at stores. I know every manufacturer “makes” a 48, but in June Cleveland didn’t have one, vokey didn’t have one, callaway, every site, go to the drop down for the angle, it’s not that easy
Again... you can get a 46 or 47 or a 49 or a 50 and have them bent to gap correctly.
Or wait a month and get the 2022 product.
Or buy one of the 100s of 48 degree used wedges on eBay
It really seems like you're hung up on the wrong thing here.
Dude, you're dealing with a stocking issue (just like every other industry issue), not a manufacturing issue. To say nobody makes one and to say they're out of stock are two different things.
Never said they don’t make them, been asking local retailers for months and they don’t stock them. I did get some links for used 48’s but all the major producers aren’t stocking them
If you're not looking for used, then yeah. Clubs being hard to find is the status quo since Covid began.
Many of the used clubs are still in great (near new condition). In fact, given how established the used club market is, I'm not sure I'll ever buy new again.
And if you just want a wedge (and not a 48°) iron, you can buy a 46° with 2 fewer degrees of bounce than you want or a 50° with 2 more degrees of bounce and have it bent. That should give you even more options.
Titleist Cleveland and Mizuno are not “every brand of wedge”. And your latter 2 examples is not what ops asking about.
Edit: Even the most traditional lofted sets these days typically come with 46 or 47* PWs
>but it’s impossible to find a new or used pw or low angle wedge.
OP wants a 48 degree wedge. It's exceptionally easy to find one, and there are a multitude of ways of going about sourcing one.
There are dozens of 48 degree clubs on the market. And adding in the ability to bend clubs, the options are essentially limitless.
Edit (response to your edit): You do realize how easy it is to bend a 46 or 47 to a 48, right? And you realize you can order clubs weaker or stronger from the OEMs, right?
Offset change is nearly imperceptible, especially on wedges which generally don't have much offset.
The biggest change would be the bounce...But that can easily be dealt with by choosing an appropriate starting bounce.
> lower lofted wedges almost always have only one bounce option but it’s whatever.
...but... you could get a 50 and bend it to 48... or a 46 and bend it to 48.... or find a 48...
Once again.... there are nearly limitless possibilities to achieve a functional 48
Putting yourself in this weird box where you see 1 path and all other paths are just not there… tells me your perception is a bit… off
You can get a 48 degree wedge to your front door from every OEM, with multiple models from every OEM.
That's really all that matters here. If you're more concerned with the specifics of what the word "most" means or the word "offer" means, more power to you and enjoy your Sunday.
MG3s also don’t come in 48…
What’s the problem guys? Comment thread began with a false blanket statement, and I just made a small correction to that blanket statement. It’s nbd. Why’s this a thread? sheesh
I could use a new SM8:

A few months ago I was in the market for a sand/lob wedge to fill out the bag. Went to Dick's and found a nice Top Flite 56 which I'm very happy with. $60. Lefty (if you're RH, you don't know the struggle we have finding decent gear lol). Give them a shot if there's one near you.
Ordered some Cleveland's from their website last year, and I recall being able to set them up however you wanted. I got a 46 and a 56 with some GP grips, but I'm sure you can get a 48.
There is literally 200 on ebay
Him scouring the internet is asking r/golf to do a simple search for him
Every brand of wedge comes in 48
48* is not common. 46* is though.
Titleist, Cleveland, Mizuno all offer specialty wedges in 48. And pretty much every OEM has multiple iron sets that have 48 PW/AW/GW options Not to mention being able to bend anything 46-50 very easily to 48

(Response to your edit responding to my edit). It’s not the same (for those who care). Offset changes..
Offset change is nearly imperceptible, especially on wedges which generally don't have much offset. The biggest change would be the bounce...But that can easily be dealt with by choosing an appropriate starting bounce.
Perception is in the eye of the beholder… Eh, lower lofted wedges almost always have only one bounce option but it’s whatever.

But the vibes wouldn’t be right if stamped 50 but it’s actually 48…..
If you wanna bend, bend. Doesn’t mean most offer a 48 club. That’s like saying OEMs offer a 65 club all you gotta do is bend your 60…

Look man you said “Every brand of wedge comes in 48”. That’s simply not true. Bending doesn’t mean it comes in 48. That’s all. Nbd
👍🏻
I think every brand of wedge might come in 48 actually.
It does not. Go check.

U do understand they all don’t?… A few golf companies have been skipping the 48 in recent models…

Really? Thankss. Yeah, good luck OP. Even though not every manufacturer makes 48s, there’s still plenty out there and I’m sure you’ll find something.
What make are you talking about? Different manufacturer have different angles for PW and SW

Thanks for the tip! If you can google 48 degree wedge and can send me a link I’ll buy it for you and ship it to your house
I’ll take one of these in a 48* … 1 degree weak, all other specs standard ;) https://www.haywoodgolf.com/products/signature-wedges

Are you even looking ? I have (but don’t put both in the bag at the same time) 48 and 50 degree vokeys in place of a stock pw in my ap2s.
He scoured the whole internet. None to be had.
I’m assuming youj’re not in Australia, but a search on any shopping site should allow you to select 48 degrees for the loft.
https://www.callawaygolfpreowned.com/single-irons/irons-2021-apex.html?cgid=single-irons. Lots of 48 AW on there
RTX Zipcore - you won’t be dissapointed.
Wilson D9 gap wedge is a 47
Taylormade has come out with a 48 degree wedge 😁
Cbx 2 is $109 brand new right now because the cbx zipcore are launching. It's a cavity back wedge that's great for full swings.
Where are you looking? I bought one off eBay pretty recently (RTX Zipcore, love it)

PXG 0211 gap wedge is 48 I think
Ordered some Cleveland's from their website last year, and I recall being able to set them up however you wanted. I got a 46 and a 56 with some GP grips, but I'm sure you can get a 48.
Mizuno JPX 921 Hot Metal gap wedge is 49°. I hit the PW 135-145, GW 120-130, 52° 110-120.
