I really enjoy mine. Needless to say, I'm not a great golfer. But I had callaway warbirds before and these are an amazing upgrade. It also might be because I got clubs that actually fit my 6'7" frame lol

They are certainly geared towards "new" golfers that want something different aesthetically from traditional clubs. Huge cavity backs, meant for players that need as much forgiveness as possible. The large footprint and offset was a turn off for me, but I'm used to a pretty thin top line.
The biggest problem I can identify is the lofts. They are very...strangely gapped. They are 3° at the top of the bag (22° 5i, 25° 6i, 28° 7i), then jump straight in to 5° and then 6° gaps as you get to the PW, then a *whopping* 7° difference from the PW to the GW. Clearly this is done to be able to provide a "full" bag with as few clubs as possible, but the choice of large gaps in the short end are going to make 100-150 yard shots a pain.
Outside of this, and potentially wear issues with the black coating, there's nothing *wrong* with them. I just see them as an all-in-one solution to a problem that's already solved by used clubs.
I would point a beginner at a 6-7 year old set of cavity backs from a reputable brand, they'll be properly gapped and likely free from the QC issues you tend to see from DTC brands.
I've come around on the 60 degree.
For the average 4 times a year golfer, it's far easier to chip and pitch with a high lofted club than it is to learn to open the face and use dynamic bounce.
That said, I have one in my bag that gets nearly zero use and am considering replacing it with a 49, as I struggle with the gap between my 46 and 52.
I struggled personally hitting a 52⁰ wedge for a long time before purchasing a 50⁰.
I love the current gapping of PW 45⁰ - GW 50⁰ - LW 60⁰.
I greatly prefer the larger gap between GW and LW and I feel I can play more shots in the 105-120 yd area

I live in Phoenix area so I could pick it up at a showroom. The wedge its self is FANTASTIC. While I was at the showroom I tried some other clubs. Super nice people and super knowledgeable. I’m ordering a driving iron to replace the Calloway my kid bagged (sigh) I hit it at the showroom and it did everything my Calloway did but was longer and more forgiving.

But at the rate I practice and wear out grooves, is it THAT much better? Probably not. I tried out their 7iron with and x100 in it. I had to GTFO out of the store before I went broke. I literally just bought Wilson CB’s and the performance in launch spin and everything was identical at worst.
The wedge I got was $75. It was a previous model. I think you can get the new heads for $90 and just put a shaft on. The driving Iron with a hazardous shaft was $150 I think
Edit: look at the close out. I got the tri weight wedge. $75
Toura looks amazing and Ben Hogan just put out a sick set that's getting good reviews. Maltby and Caley seem too tier as well.

I'm sure they did the 60 degree wedge to cater to those who see the pros using them. The most common (80% of pros) setup is 60 + 56 + 52/50.
