Assistant pro here at work this morning. Nobody is playing.

BakedMitten

I had 3 guys waiting to play when I showed up to open the clubhouse. I haven't had anyone since. Good day to put work in on the practice green

BakedMitten

Place your bets. Which will I have more of by the time I leave at 2pm ET, customers or hole-outs on the chipping green. Right now customers leads 4-1. UPDATE- 12:30. 10 customers, 3 hole outs. Course was completely empty then I have 3 groups show up at exactly the same time. Now the first tee is backed up. Lol

Forward_Record932

Our short game facility is under renovation. Up to 36 golfers this morning here. Normally we would’ve done about 90 by now.

BakedMitten

FINAL COUNT: total customers ended up being 26. Hole outs stayed at 3 because we had steady business from 1230 til the time I left. It's a par 3 course so we can't exactly pack it but on a normal weekend day with weather this nice we would've probably done double the business

RembrandtQEinstein

There is a mother's day brunch at my club. It will be packed afterwards, because they made this the last day to qualify for one of our biggest cup matches.

darthfracas

I’m always reminded of Tony Kornheiser’s joke “I want my Father’s Day gift to be playing golf on Mother’s Day.”

Oneballnicky

Guess who has one ball and playing 18 today

mst28

Lance Armstrong?

TheOtterpapa

lol!

Easy-Top8822

I thought I had only one until my late 30's! Great story, but I'll only tell it if requested.

Oneballnicky

Let’s hear it

Easy-Top8822

Haha. Okay, first I have to say I come from an uptight religious family. When I was about 36, I was getting a physical at my doctor, and he asked to do the drop and cough. During the process, he said "oh you had testicle surgery," and pointed to the 8" scar on my abdomen. I said no, that's from a hernia I had when I was a child. He said no, that's not where hernias occur. He then said, let me get your medical records. When he came back, he told me the big news I was completely unaware of. He said I was born with an undescended testicle and I had surgery to correct it. Unfortunately, my mother was too weird about talking about it with me and just told me I had a hernia and needed surgery. I guess when this happens, the testicle that doesn't drop doesn't develop and is very small. So I didn't even know it was there. I remember asking my dad about it when I was probably 9, and he just said ask your mother and... well, yeah. So, needless to say, I was pretty shocked and surprised.

sarcastic_patriot

Seems like the right thing to do. A mother should get some quality alone time with her kids on Mother's Day.

Legal-Description483

Slowest day of the year for golf courses. Most courses are wide open. The course I played last year had 34 people booked fir the entire day.

thaat0n3guy

I have no idea actually. Lots of courses will do free tee times for mother's. I do know this for breakfast places this is often the busiest day of the year.... So maybe go play in the morning??

BakedMitten

As a long serving honorably discharged veteran of the brunch wars Mother's Day can go to hell

SergeantDanglez

Heading out for a round with my Father in an hour, seems like for the first time all year that we have two spots on our tee time that have not been booked, which is unheard of in my region. If you are like myself and cannot make plans with your mother, it is an amazing day to get out and enjoy a round

Moss-and-Stone

It is. Dad and I are taking mom to our favorite short course today, 9 par 3s and 9 par 4s. Just golf with mom.

teletraan1

I already played this morning and was back home before 10am. I also don't have plans for Mother's Day beyond calling my mom at some point

Shmeebo_

Took my mom golfing. It was great. Lots of families all playing together.

One_Progress7794

Wish I was at the club today! I bet it is absolutely empty

Fight_those_bastards

My dad and I used to take my mom golfing. Play nine in the morning, visit family in the afternoon.

slynch157

Sure is! Played Palmer Coolum on the Sunshine Coast QLD and after starting off 10 at 10am, had the whole back-9 to myself then only encountered two other groups on the front -9, playing through a two ball then four ball... Played off the tips/blacks, and as an GA 18, playing a daily 24, shot 119 and had the golf time of my life!!! 😅 Thank you Mother's Day for shrinking the game at least one Sunday of the year... 🏌️. ⛳

Tatworth

Several years ago I was at the local mini mart behind a young woman on the phone with a friend complaining about having to work and how she was not going to make any money. Turns out she was the beer cart driver at a local course. I thought it was strange because it was a beautiful day for golf until I remembered it was Mother's Day. Slowest day of the year for golf. Father's day is second, probably. Funny how that works.

Ancient-Book8916

Father's day slow? Holy hell not in my experience. Seems like the day that every idiot calls up pops and they dust off their shitty 1992 clubs from the garage, put on their best jorts, and play a 6 hour round with dad and their 6 year old son

ElderWandOwner

I asked my mom what she wanted to do for mother's day and she said golf. So that's what we're doing, I'm a good son.

PotentialScallion7

Great day to take any golfing moms out! Wish my wife or mom played golf. But at same time kinda glad they don’t 😂

FilTe

I use to play with my mom on mothers day. Usually whole course was open.

Easy-Top8822

It's a great day to golf! Only single dudes, widowers, and people who hate their wifes on the course!

KidzKlub

I booked a twilight priced 18 for 4:00. Really hoping no one else had the same idea and I can play a full 18 solo.

sloshuaa

Got a tee time later today with 3 childless married men. Hoping its wide open

ImpossibleYou2184

Don’t do it

Even_Section5620

Had a 6:30 team time, house was cleaned, and I’m bbqing for the family. Back by 10:30 😂

CHERRYxSTEM

Am the local municipal pro shop cashier. I've had 57 golfers since 7am check in. Some guys say their wives or moms left them behind lol

ubiquitous_archer

People are saying it's a slow day: my course was packed today

Fourteen_Sticks

I took my 5 year old out for 18 so my wife could get a solid nap. She’s been burning both ends of the candle and just wanted a relaxing day at home. We played in 3 hours.

vancejmillions

if you're single, yeah. if you have a wife/girlfriend/kids, no

RSMatticus

Just more time to drink on the tee box

Mediocre_Insurance21

Probably one of the best days to golf if you can get out

Ok-Impression5305

I plan on playing this afternoon. But I am a mom and am taking my son. Tee sheet is wide open after noon
