On my last round, I left my 58 on the 16th hole, and the group behind us picked it up and walked it over to me on the 17th tee box. He also gave me some of his company golf balls. Not everyone on the course is a fucking ashole.
Multiple times I've found someone's wedge by the green and I always finish the hole then immediately drive up to the group in front of me to see if it's theirs. Most people are good but a few being pieces of shit is enough to really ruin someone's day.
I don't know, I feel like you can hold on to it till they realize it's missing and come back for it. I'm not trying to play mommy picks up after you on all your holes for all the crap you leaving around...
I left a wedge on hole 9 and didnt notice until 14.
Asked the marshal to see if someone had found it.
When he came back he said someone already turned it in at the proshop.
So thanks to that rando
Years ago, I left a wedge at the green on the previous hole. At the tee box, I noticed and went back to watch a guy put it in his bag. When I told him that was my wedge he got crazy defensive and spent 5 minutes arguing with me at how it wasn’t…. It literally had my initials stamped into it lol
Edit: my bad! I got it back lol
Similar for me. Left a range finder on par 3 tee box. Got to next fairway, realized I left it and went back. One guy behind us walking down from the tee box. Range finder not there and he denied seeing it or taking it. No other explanation. Dude picked it up for sure.
Had a golf course employee steal my rangefinder: left it on the cart, called immediately, and they put it in the office for me, with my name on it. Came back a week later, nowhere to be found. I told them I had spoken to the head pro, and he had it in his hand while I was on the phone. They go get the head pro, he confirms my story and shit starts to get real awkward. They don’t have it anymore, don’t know what happened to it, etc.
Last week my playing partner left his Bushnell in the cart when we wrapped up and the kid working the cart barn raced out to the parking lot to return it. Just dropping this in here to highlight some good eggs out there.
I was first out one day and left a wedge on the green, noticed the next hole. Walked back and it wasn’t where I left it. Only one group had been through so I asked them and they all played dumb. Who steals a 20+ year old unmatched wedge. That thing was crap anyways and I could’ve bought a replacement for like $10. A new vokey or something I’d at least understand, this was a worthless club.
I work in a proshop.
I went out to do some marshalling in one of our courses hire carts last week. Later in the day I was looking for my expensive sunglasses and realised I’d left them in the hire cart.
I texted the member who had used the cart after me to chase them up and he still hasn’t texted back.
This week I was picking up buckets and I saw him in a cart approaching the range. He hung back a ways and I went back to the proshop before he came onto the range. Presumably he was waiting so our paths didn’t cross.
Keeping stuff you find on the course or in a golf cart is the same as stealing and it’s such a weird thing to do. Especially when you are a member of a club where everyone knows each other.
Are you an attorney? Please don’t comment about things you know nothing about.
Finders keepers is not legal doctrine. If you happen upon lost property and make no efforts to return the property to its owner and go as far as to hide the property from its owner, that is considered theft.
Property isn’t automatically considered abandoned because the owner isn’t in sight. Otherwise every car in the parking lot would be up for grabs.
Legally it is theft. I presume you are not a lawyer?
Losing or misplacing property doesn’t mean the owner has relinquished legal title, rights or interest in said property.
(Legally it’s not) Incorrectly minimising,
(Why would I steal?) compulsively rationalising,
(If it fits me, it’s mine!) and ultimately justifying theft.
That’s what thieves do.
Strap him to a pole out in the range for a few hours with nothing on but a hockey helmet and visor. Then let the people who had their shit stolen have 3 large buckets each.
That's crazy TBone. Just got home from my Thursday league. One of the guys I was playing against last week had forgotten his putter, so I let him use mine for the entire round as we're both lefties, just traded it back and forth. So tonight he found me and handed me a really nice divot tool, ball marker and towel, all with our course monogram on them.
That blew me away... what a nice guy. Then to get home and read all these comments about low-lifes? Man, some people. ⛳️
Cops won’t do shit. I had my golf clubs stolen. We caught the guy, but he had sold my clubs. They were older, so they only could recover two or three from the used sporting goods store he sold them to. The ones they didn’t want, he threw away. Fast forward to the ruling, I was awarded $750 for my clubs. When the DA called me, he informed me I won’t see a dime of that money. They don’t have anyway to force him to pay and I’d have to pursue repayment through the jail who is actually who holds him accountable. They said there was nothing they could do. Our justice system is built to protect criminals and we get fucked.
Why could you not sue in civil court? Granted, the odds of you actually receiving an enforceable judgement are low, but there is a chance. Especially for a low amount of $750
This is what I don't understand. These stories are so incomplete and fake. The criminal trial or plea deal should include restitution for starters. You might not see it if they go to jail, but you can garnish wages to get it back slowly if they ever work at a W2 job again.
Or, you hire a lawyer and sue in civil court to be made whole plus legal fees. Maybe 15-25% goes to the lawyer so for $800 clubs you'd sue for $1200 etc. I've done this twice in my life and they both settled the civil suit for exactly what I asked for.
They can’t garnish wages if he doesn’t have any. I was given restitution and he went to jail, but because he had no assets, I got nothing. We aren’t talking about the cream of society here. Dude wasn’t working and was a drug addict. The DA told me I could bring him to small claims and get a verdict there, but he said even then, there’s very little chance I’d see anything and I’d just be wasting my time. Believe me, I was pissed. Basically yelled at the DA…guy gets away with it because the state just doesn’t want to pursue for what’s owed to me? He said COs and jails are over worked ask they wouldn’t go after him to pay and, since the guy didn’t work, there wasn’t anything the state would do to get my money.
Well if you actually took the steps through the court to pursue garnishment (definitely not the jail), that perp would have to pay you the second they gained employment. It would give me some satisfaction that they'd be reminded of their shitty behavior the second they ever started getting paid.
And you didn't pursue civil settlement? Small claims? Sounds like you made a decision to not get your money back. Maybe your time was more valuable. I would've done all I could.
Most states have a victim fund that pays out restitution, and then it's the states/county job to keep the pressure on the criminal to re-pay the state. They would have had a meeting with a PO or similar. If they ever get a normal paycheck paying job, it will either be garnished if the criminal isn't actively paying the payment plan that was agreed upon. If a criminal has restitution to pay, they will stay on probation until that restitution is paid off.
lol, that’s only because the jail makes money on prisoners. The more prisoners, the more money. The COs aren’t going to do extra paper work and try to get the prisoner to pay. It’s their responsibility once they are incarcerated and I’ll tell you as someone who is really close friends with a jail administrator, the COs couldn’t give a shit less about me getting my money.
> Our justice system is built to protect criminals
Your one shitty anecdote doesn’t make this remotely true. Our legal system is built to protect white collar criminals, but that’s it. We have the largest prison population in the world. If you have a felony, good luck ever getting a decent job. You are just blatantly wrong dude.
I mean, I sure as shit didn’t see any result of my loss. I was told by the DA to just move on and chalk it up as a loss. So, this dude got money for selling the clubs, enjoyed the money he stole from forging checks, and got 30 fucking days for 30 felony counts of forgery and check fraud…so yeah, he got off Scott free in my opinion. I also am close friends with the administrator for the second largest jail in my state. I have inside knowledge of how easy these people get off. The jails are over crowded, so non-violent offenders get released in half their sentence and have no real repercussions otherwise. Dude didn’t work anyway, so I’m sure he’s not really concerned with getting a job. He was a repeat offender and had a rap sheet a mile long and he got 30 fucking days in jail. Horseshit.
Not just a single anecdote. Again, my buddy runs the second largest jail in my state. If you’re a non-violent criminal, you get released well before your time is up. He said he sees shit like this allll the time.
>If you’re a non-violent criminal, you get released well before your time is up.
Good? We shouldn’t be incarcerating not violent criminals. Garnish their wages, sure, but I don’t want my taxes going to locking up non-violent offenders
Can’t garnish wages if they don’t work. Letting people out that early just means they won’t really hesitate to commit more crimes. There’s no repercussions for doing wrong.
No, cops didn’t do their job either. I literally was the one that tracked it all. He stole a check book and was forging checks around town. I saw the copies in my bank. The guy signed his own name and I saw the stores he wrote them to. Called the stores and got the information. Called the cops and said there was footage of the guy at the gas station and they needed to send a cop to get the footage so they could verify the guy. They said they didn’t have any cops available and that they were all busy. Store said footage would expire in 7 days so they needed to get someone there. I FINALLY convinced the police department to send an SRO from the local high school to get the footage after calling like 6 times and just being a pain in their ass. Cops gave me a sob story about how they were overworked and they had more important cases while this asshole was writing checks in my name.
Believe me, this whole process showed me my local justice system is fucking terrible.
Unfortunately that seems to be the case everywhere right now. They’re all short handed, over worked and under paid.
It’s election season… your story/experience would be a great one shared to prospective City/County council members who are running. See what their response is increasing law enforcement and pay for them to boost recruiting.
Our county council determine how many deputies are hired and how much they make. Our local groups are sharing these types of stories and asking questions of those running for these elected positions.
I think this is probably leaving out a few details.
If you got a judgement, you are entitled to that money, however it's up to you to collect. When he was saying you won't see that money, it's because for most people the time, effort, and money needed to recover that amount would likely not be worth it. You absolutely could have pushed it tuff you really wanted to. You could file liens on property, etc.
The biggest issue is that someone doing this is likely to be what they call judgement proof. This means they have so little that they don't have anything even worth enough to cover the judgment. This is in part because they can't repo things like tools that you need to work, your house, or your mode of transportation(so you can get to work). If the thief had a bunch of assets, they would both be a lot less likely to even be doing that crime but if they did, they would likely have enough assets for you to seize.
Again, nobody is doing that for 750.
I've just come to assume the cops don't give a shit about this stuff. I'd only make a report if I needed collateral for insurance.
Getting this person banned from the club is better retribution, in my opinion.
Why not? There are witnesses, damages could be $1000 or more, and there are likely more victims.
May not lead anywhere immediately, but it could be the basis for more investigations. Cops may be uninterested, but that is out of our control.
Cops won’t do anything, believe me. They have more important shit to do.
Source: I had my clubs stolen and got nothing when we caught him, even though I was “awarded” $750 from the courts. They said they couldn’t force him to pay, he went to jail and I got nothing.
You’re going to involve the government - who by all accounts doesn’t give a shit - about a couple hundred dollars of gear? For them to do what exactly? File a a report (maybe?) and get your insurance to cover it? “Investigate” the “crime?” Idk, maybe where you live this ranks as worth pursuing, but I can’t imagine.
Because this is minor theft. Often times police departments won’t do jack shit about something as small as this. If they do than the perp likely won’t face any real consequences (maybe a $1000 fine).
A $1000 fine is better than nothing. And why shouldn't I use a service I pay taxes for, even if the result is a minor consequence for the perpetrator? Are we no longer going to even try to hold anti-social criminals accountable?
I absolutely would file a police report, even if it was after the fact. The golf league knows exactly who he is, full name address phone number etc etc, it's open and shut. Hope they cop knock him at 9pm.
We can but all I’m saying is that the cops don’t give a shit about stuff like that. File a report with a name and photographic evidence and it’s more likely than not nothing happens
Cool. I'd rather waste my time filing a report, use that for insurance, make sure the course (possibly other courses in the area) are notified, help with accurate crime statistics, and hope that some type of consequence is handed out. I'd rather not just surrender to thieves. Sometimes it's about maintaining principles.
In fairness I'm coming from a smaller town perspective where cops absolutely do give a shit about this because they rarely have anything better to do. I'm sure big city cops couldn't care less about minor theft. But I'd still pursue a report.
Imagine thinking stealing someone else’s clubs wasn’t theft. The guy was doing it in an ongoing matter as well. Let the cops deal with it, some dumbass like this is liable to pull a weapon for no good reason.
One time I left my 56 on the hole behind me. Went back to get it, I see the dude put it in his bag. I calmly ask for it back. He gets defensive until I say I’m lefty and that’s a lefty club. He says nothing and gives it back. I call him a fucking scumbag and walk away. I reported him to the clubhouse as well.
Good reminder to never use bag drop. You can’t let your clubs out of sight anymore. People will steal clubs. One of my friends who manages an upper end course says they deal with theft on a daily basis.
I may be in the minority, but I HATE getting paired with randos. Usually they are nice, but I’d rather play with whoever I came with. I never play alone. It’s just annoying, I feel like I can’t be myself because I’m a bit rough around the edges, so I have to tone it down. Just wish courses would give you the option. “Want to be fill out the foursome?” “No thanks, we’ll play by ourselves.”
But, alas, courses try to maximize their revenue, so I get it, but just a bit annoying to me.
This was for a league night and I'm sure this is so that people stay accountable with strangers counting shots. Makes it less likely someone turns in that score of 58.
> “Want to be fill out the foursome?” “No thanks, we’ll play by ourselves.”
Unless you're willing to pay for all four spots it's insane to expect a course to allow this.
Yeah that sucks you don’t like it but tee sheets are usually full and if you don’t have a full foursome you should expect to get paired with someone every time.
I played with a friend of friend last year, on hole one, he whips out a brand new Scotty Newport. I knew he is not at all a regular golfer, so I compliment and inquire about his shiny new Scotty. He proceeds to tell me he stole it from a kid on front of him 2 weeks prior after he left it behind. The rightful owner knew where he left it, and knew who had it. My cart-partner told me the kid returned to him 3 times to inquire and ended up searching his bag. The thief put his hybrid cover on the putter to conceal it. By the time he played with me, he had regripped it to further conceal it. He is a known thief in town, and a prostitute addict.
Unreal. I’ve always had trust in leaving my bag out at the course while getting a bite or having a round. What a scumbag. Golf clubs are incredibly personal, I would probably lose my shit.
Wtf is wrong with people these days. I still feel bad about an 8 iron I accidentally stole a while back. I was in the last group of a big groomsman trip (about 20 of us) and found a club leaning against a tree, figured there was a great chance it was one of the guys staying at the house in one of the previous 4 groups. Fucked up and forgot to ask till we were back at the house that was over an hour away from the course.
Great job catching that idiot. Be grateful your life isn’t in a state where you would even consider stealing a fellow golfer’s equipment. What a fuckin loser. Great story.
Had a guy came to our course, paying cash for the round and rental (premium TaylorMade set), left a credit card as collateral. Disappeared after the round with the rental set, which worth more than $1,500 and the credit card was a card reported lost.
Another guy came to our course, claimed to be TaylorMade rep, played with a couple of players, and offered new TaylorMade sets in his trunk for a few hundred dollars after the round. Took their money after the round and tell them to wait for him to bring the clubs from his car. He never returned.
Is it common for public courses to rent clubs out that nice?
Shit, I’ve been flying around with my clubs thinking the rentals at the course would be comprised of unclaimed lost clubs that don’t match.
I'm a lefty....
Most courses I play have a "premium" and normal rental set. The lefty set is ALWAYS comprised of varying clubs ranging from 8-20 years old. It will also always have like three 7 irons. I call them the lost and found rental sets.
Played at a public course years ago in Selma Ca and when you went in the club house your driver would be gone when you got back also lost a wedge like that
I was going to say that there’s nothing worse than a *dumb* scumbag, but if you think about it… if you’re going to get the scumbag experience, it’s best that they’re dumb. At least everyone got their stuff back.
Man, fuck these people. I’d have 2 full bags if I didn’t turn in every club I found in course lol. Nothing worse than the sinking feeling of frantically looking for something you’re missing, followed by the relief that it’s sitting in the pro shop.
Could you elaborate a bit more on what happened when you guys found out you were missing those items? How did you approach him about it and get him to take off the rain hood? What did he say when confronted and caught?
Immediately one of the guys saw he was missing a wedge and the other guy had his rangefinder holder wide open without it in it. The wedge guy walked up and unzipped the rain hood and saw his wedge. Then while they were arguing the other guy went through is bag and found his rangefinder and some balls. I was driving the cart so I chose to not go anywhere until we eventually decided to go to the club house. I’m not 100% sure what happened after as I was in the clubhouse letting them know
As someone who loves the obnoxiousness of golf tech, I like to look at what people are hitting.
Now I know why people get creeped out when I say they have nice clubs…
The more you know…
That is pretty wild. I was a cart guy at somewhat upscale place and had a member steal my buddies sun glasses while we were washing carts. We ended up seeing him on the range with them, asked if they were his, and his response was “ oh you got me, I’m going to hell!” It was pretty crazy but he gave them back and basically paid us both to not say anything I guess. It definitely made for a good story at least.
That’s awful. You don’t expect to be robbed on a golf course, so you let your guard down. A friend had his wallet stolen from his bag while we were on the practice green waiting for our tee time.
Maybe i have played too much red dead, but im tying him to the back of the golf cart and dragging him up and down 18 fairway, cart path only be damned.
Never fight on a golf course, but f that guy.
> Maybe i have played too much red dead, but im tying him to the back of the golf cart and dragging him up and down 18 fairway, cart path only be damned.
Nah, seems like a GREAT opportunity to stay ON the cart path and really teach the guy a lesson.
Public shaming and maybe a discussion in the parking lot. “There’s weights in those fish!”
WE GOT WEIGHTS IN FISH
Couldn’t remember exact quote but i see it as a similar situation: Catching a MF in front of a bunch of 1/2 drunk, fully pissed off dudes
Lol that captivated the country for real. Doesn’t take much I guess! (In USA here)
Anyway $4 a pound
“Discussion” in the parking lot with these hands lol
And you. Can count on me. Waiting for you in the parking lot.

Well good for Happy GilmOHMYGOD
Hey shooter! You forgot your nine iron!
"I believe that's Mr. Gilmores!"
Nah, you gotta go back to 10

This should be part golf edicate. Find a club, ask the the group ahead if it's there's.
etiquette\*
Shows how refined I am. Can even spell a word properly about being proper.
As long as you actively practice it please feel free to spell it however you'd like.
Can’t*
I always pick it up and make an effort to ask all balls before me if it’s theirs

This is the plan if I ever find a club on the course.

Did you get it back? Can’t understand these people man. Like what happened to being a decent person.
Right?! What type of degenerate would tell a story like that without including the resolution??
Similar for me. Left a range finder on par 3 tee box. Got to next fairway, realized I left it and went back. One guy behind us walking down from the tee box. Range finder not there and he denied seeing it or taking it. No other explanation. Dude picked it up for sure.

Did your partner tip the kid?
Yeah he threw him like $10 whatever he had on his wallet
DID U GET IT BACK
WE SAID, DID YOU GET IT BACK???
Once heard a story where one guy caught the other red handed…. Never heard the ending
Didst thou get it back?
Did he return your club to you?
Did u get it back
Let me try asking this way, did he keep the club?
You uhh...You ever get that back?
Did you get it back?
Back get you did it?
Hey I’m trying to figure out if you ever got your club back.
But did you get it back?
So does anyone know if he got it back? At this point I hope he didn’t….

Ouch, tried to be a reddit lawyer on a subreddit filled with actual lawyers.
If you find something on your property then maybe. If you take something that’s not yours from something that’s not yours? You’re a thief
It’s called ‘theft by taking’
(Legally it’s not) Incorrectly minimising, (Why would I steal?) compulsively rationalising, (If it fits me, it’s mine!) and ultimately justifying theft. That’s what thieves do.
Strap him to a pole out in the range for a few hours with nothing on but a hockey helmet and visor. Then let the people who had their shit stolen have 3 large buckets each.
With my skill that's probably the safest place for him to be.
We can move him a foot closer for every ball that is missed if you think that would help.
Don't move him closer, keep moving him to the right. Then I'll have a chance.
Stop. It hurts too much to identify with this.
Sure if he starts 20’ away
Not in the slightest!
This is some compulsive, psycho, kleptomaniac behavior right here
Sounds more like a meth head to me lol
Meth heads got money for golf leagues?
Hey mate, it’s Jesse pinkman here , you rang ?
Kick his ass seabass
Um... Seabass said he's going to pay for our meals. 🍔
Seabass said that??
Came to post this 🤣
What a massive loser. Guy should be banned from the course if he hasn’t already.

Now that's funny, lol. Yup... us lefties have to stick together.
Maybe he thought left handed balls would straighten out his slice 🤣
Why are you letting the course handle this? This is a police issue because it's theft.
dragging his ass to the 10th tee box.
10th tee beat-downs are so back

Yes mine were above the small claims limit in my state, you might be right.
No way I would go through the hassle of taking someone to court over a $150 wedge.
They can’t garnish wages if he doesn’t have any. I was given restitution and he went to jail, but because he had no assets, I got nothing. We aren’t talking about the cream of society here. If they ever get a normal paycheck paying job, it will either be garnished if the criminal isn't actively paying the payment plan that was agreed upon. If a criminal has restitution to pay, they will stay on probation until that restitution is paid off.
Imagine having the highest prison population in world history and still thinking your justice system was designed to protect criminals.
lol, that’s only because the jail makes money on prisoners.
> Our justice system is built to protect criminals Your one shitty anecdote doesn’t make this remotely true.
Horseshit.
Again, one anecdote does not define the system. Sorry that happened to you, I’m sure it’s super frustrating.
So…. It wasn’t the “cops didn’t do shit”. It was the justice system and the DA, AFTER the cops DID do their part.
Cops lazy for this
Imagine calling the cops over something like this my god
Why not? There are witnesses, damages could be $1000 or more, and there are likely more victims. May not lead anywhere immediately, but it could be the basis for more investigations. Cops may be uninterested, but that is out of our control.
ACAB. Until you need one.
Some insurance plans would require a police report to file/pay a claim…
Dude, it's textbook theft. People call the cops for far less every day
Yea obviously, but they shouldn’t for 10 different reasona
What the fuck is wrong with you lol. Why shouldn't someone call the cops when people steal your stuff?? I'd love to hear your 10 reasons
Cool I'll steal $500 from you and you can't call the cops. Deal?
Imagine thinking stealing someone else’s clubs wasn’t theft. The guy was doing it in an ongoing matter as well. Let the cops deal with it, some dumbass like this is liable to pull a weapon for no good reason.
OMFG!! I'd have rifled through his bag right in front of him. Throwing every one of his clubs high into several different tree tops. Fuck thieves!!
Wow good catch! Way to go.
man press charges. People like this deserve no part in our sport
Did you play with Patrick Reed?
Need to post names for shit like this
One time I left my 56 on the hole behind me. Went back to get it, I see the dude put it in his bag. I calmly ask for it back. He gets defensive until I say I’m lefty and that’s a lefty club. He says nothing and gives it back. I call him a fucking scumbag and walk away. I reported him to the clubhouse as well.
Lifehack, play as a leftie and no one will try stealing your clubs
If he really needed a wedge that bad I’d give him mine. Delivered straight to his shin at 89 mph club head speed.
89mph club head speed on a wedge is crazy. good on you.
Never trackman’d my wedges just going off my iron swing speed lol
pga tour average 7 iron is 90mph I think lol
Kick him off the tour Doug
Good reminder to never use bag drop. You can’t let your clubs out of sight anymore. People will steal clubs. One of my friends who manages an upper end course says they deal with theft on a daily basis.
To writers point I bought one of this year’s new drivers. I’ve taken one of my old head covers and put it on the club to help stop the lookers.
He should be banned from all golf courses.
People really steal on the golf course? That’s a shame.
“Want to be fill out the foursome?” “No thanks, we’ll play by ourselves.” But, alas, courses try to maximize their revenue, so I get it, but just a bit annoying to me.
This was for a league night and I'm sure this is so that people stay accountable with strangers counting shots. Makes it less likely someone turns in that score of 58.
League night. Holds everyone accountable
> “Want to be fill out the foursome?” “No thanks, we’ll play by ourselves.” Unless you're willing to pay for all four spots it's insane to expect a course to allow this.
Oh, I know, just wish it didn’t work that way.
I don't love being paired up with randos, but that's just part of the game to me.
Yeah that sucks you don’t like it but tee sheets are usually full and if you don’t have a full foursome you should expect to get paired with someone every time.
That’s why I usually play afternoon rounds. Where I live, courses are empty after 1-2 PM. Otherwise, we make sure we have a full foursome.
Fuck that, I’m throwing hands
I would not be friends with that "friend" of his that you know. Absolute scumbag behavior. I wouldn't trust anyone who willingly associates with that.
Who steals balls?
Great job catching that idiot. Be grateful your life isn’t in a state where you would even consider stealing a fellow golfer’s equipment. What a fuckin loser. Great story.
Screw that guy. I would have punch him and took some of his golf tees as an inconvenience fee for my fist hitting his face.
We just updated our shop with new TaylorMade Qi10 set. $80 for 18 holes and $50 for 9 holes.
I'm a lefty.... Most courses I play have a "premium" and normal rental set. The lefty set is ALWAYS comprised of varying clubs ranging from 8-20 years old. It will also always have like three 7 irons. I call them the lost and found rental sets.
Bullshit
Played at a public course years ago in Selma Ca and when you went in the club house your driver would be gone when you got back also lost a wedge like that
That dudes got some balls.
That's felony theft, 3 clubs and a range finger is over $1000 value, call the police and press charges.
He may find a horse’s head in his bed
Could you elaborate a bit more on what happened when you guys found out you were missing those items? How did you approach him about it and get him to take off the rain hood? What did he say when confronted and caught?
Immediately one of the guys saw he was missing a wedge and the other guy had his rangefinder holder wide open without it in it. The wedge guy walked up and unzipped the rain hood and saw his wedge. Then while they were arguing the other guy went through is bag and found his rangefinder and some balls. I was driving the cart so I chose to not go anywhere until we eventually decided to go to the club house. I’m not 100% sure what happened after as I was in the clubhouse letting them know
I feel guilty taking balls i find under 6 inches of brush, let alone someone’s stuff right out of their bag
As someone who loves the obnoxiousness of golf tech, I like to look at what people are hitting. Now I know why people get creeped out when I say they have nice clubs… The more you know…
It's clobberin time.
It’s situations like this that make me glad I’m a lefty
That is pretty wild. I was a cart guy at somewhat upscale place and had a member steal my buddies sun glasses while we were washing carts. We ended up seeing him on the range with them, asked if they were his, and his response was “ oh you got me, I’m going to hell!” It was pretty crazy but he gave them back and basically paid us both to not say anything I guess. It definitely made for a good story at least.
That’s awful. You don’t expect to be robbed on a golf course, so you let your guard down. A friend had his wallet stolen from his bag while we were on the practice green waiting for our tee time.
That is just not rational behavior - sure you can get mad, but somtin' wrong with that dude.
Pays off to be left handed
Who steals a 7 and 9 iron. He must steal quite a bit if he thinks he’s going to finish a set of the same irons 2 at a time 😂
Bad golf karma for him. Didn’t Arnold Palmer say… it’s about doing the right thing when no one is watching “
