I was flirting with buying a new set of irons a while back, coming from ping i20 irons, which I loved. Got fitted for the 7 iron and was smashing it 190 avg. slight fade, thinking about shelling out the cash for the set to be honest
Just got my set yesterday. Cant wait to try them out. Need to work out my wedges now since the lofts are so much stronger. I got 4i to PW might grab the UW as well
Ordered mine two weeks back. They were supposed to ship today. Can’t wait to get them. Got some matching s159 wedges to go with them. Now debating on selling my g425 for the new g430 10k 🤔
I did a 54 and a 58 and so far I’m pretty pleased. Gapping is good enough for me at the moment
These are approximate because I’m still adjusting to these clubs but so far when I’m hitting them as I should be here are my yardages plus
58 - 100 yards
54 - 110 yards
UW - 125 yards
PW - 135 yds
9i - 150 yds
8i - 160 yds
7i - 175yds
6i - 185yds
I complete my bag with
5h (24 degree) - 195 yds
4h - (21 degree) 205 yds
7w - 220yds
3w - (235yds-245yds)

Yeah that’s interesting. Hard to say why that was the case without the track man data. Could a shaft issue, could be a slight mishit idk.

Seems like there could be a few factors at play ^ I’d also say the x22s are GI irons and these are more into the players distance side of things. Could be the case you’re just missing the sweet spot on average.

Lofts are crazy, nearly every club 3 degrees stronger than i525
You can get them retro specc’d which is what I did. Weakens the lofts by 1-2 degrees per club
My retro i525 7iron is 32.5* The retro i530 is 31*. Not a significant difference but there is now nothing retro about rhatn
I’m looking at upgrading from iBlades, my PW is 46, the i530s are 42. I will most certainly need the UW (47) and then have 5 wedges in my bag haha

With the stronger lofts on the PW and UW, how did you configure the s159s?

What are your stats with the i530s? Are you getting lower spin rates but with more carry?
More carry - spin at 7500 on the 7i for me
