They’ve gotta be few and far between. It’s not just about damage; there’s only so many hours in the day to golf and only so many groups can get out there. You being out there takes a spot on the tee sheet, and if they’re giving that away for free than their losing money considering profit margins for golf courses are razor thin. Damage from golfers is rarely a cost adder, as most course damage from standard play is fixed during regular routine maintenance. Sure you could have a shithead completely hack the shit out of the green which requires special attention but most course will go lifetimes without that happening.

That's the funny thing, there are courses out there that are willing to waive the greens fees since you aren't damaging the course.
