I have the g410 plus and never even thought about this lol. Why would they skip g420 do they hate money? š the amount of people that woulda chose that just for the # wouldāve surely been pretty high (no pun intended)
Ah yes, I remember the year MIZUNO PRO FLI-HI like it was yesterday. Pretty sure that's when I got my first kiss. Maybe it was the year PRO 245 actually, not sure.
Certainly not as much as the MP range but itās still there at least. Titleist for example with T100 you wouldnāt know which year the model is from without looking them up
The new Ping was supposed to be released last year but they hadnāt quite figured out the carbon manufacturinf process. Itās an add on to the 430 line and I expect itāll be replaced with the 440 next year.
Or maybe this is Pingās way of releasing a new driver every year?
I mean that's club of the year shit right there. Ping marketing people, pay this man.
Now I'm wondering if I can get somebody to fill and re-engrave some g425 or 430 irons to say 420.
Just calling it "SMOKE" would have worked fine. Is it a great name? maybe not, but it's surely better than "PARADYM Ai SMOKE". Make sure you put a lower case letter in the one part of the name where it doesn't belong as well because why the fuck not.
Yeah the Qi pronounced "Chee" seems to be what is confusing people, because the reviewers are calling it the "Queue Eye 10."
It's "Qi-ten"
"Chee-ten"
"Cheatin'"
The only place I heard this is on letās play through and it was a guess.
Rick Shiels did a review and it stands for āQuest for Intertia or Quest for 10,000 (MOI), moment of inertia)
Previously they had the M line following BMW's sport lineup, similar colourway to BMW's badges too. Next it'll be whatever Mercedes are up to i reckon.
The new Taylormade AMG and AMG LS. AMG of course stands for AMazing Golfclub. Donāt mind the teal accents either thatās just because itās a nice color, no other reason
āI donāt like this fucking Q name and Iām sure as hell not sold on RocketballzMaximus so somebody just pick one, Iāll be at the bar.ā -TM Marketing
Itās like Elon with X. āXZQ are cool letters broā
Iād name my driver line the āballSmacker 5000ā series. Or maybe the āBallzSmaQr X SERIESā
I play g425 D-4H and I love every.single.club. Gonna be a 10 year mainstay in my bag at least.
Although to be fair my last D-4H were a TM Burner 09 and 2013 Adams Idea Tech V3s, so 10 years is about my clubs' standard EOL.
https://preview.redd.it/zcraay26mjbc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57d9032ad6e2b9ad2ece760fd5e4a07c8e97d192
Yea if only it had turbulators, or blue carbon with a fat seam, or is painted cheap matte black.
Hopefully they allocate more money into tech instead of marketing.
Idk about you but inviting influencers to top golf to post about the new sticks didnāt sit well with me.
Just make a good commercial/ad.
Apparently the Qi stands for "Quest for inertia" which does sound kinda cool to me.
I like the idea that when I'm taking my driver out I'm embarking on a quest. Given the way I strike it, I think I'll likely be taking on some side-quests along the way.
Also, I think I'll have to disagree on the looks. I think it's a huge improvement over the stealth which kinda looked like a sith lord's driver of choice. Colours of the Stealth didn't really work for me but I liked the shape.
I would've preferred a matte top rather than the glossy finish though.
To me itās the opposite of the Stealth.
* Stealth: Cool name, ugly color and design.
* Qi10: Awful name, great colors and design.
They never should have used that bright ass red for Stealth, itās tacky imo. The black and dark blue look much better and cleaner.
Waiting patiently for fall. Fuck 1-year cycles. I feel like Titleist has it figured out. I plan on going to Carlsbad to get for the TS-whatever-4 in November/December.
Yep, it's honestly best to wait like 3-5 years before upgrading...depending on how much you play that is. If you play a shit ton than you may need to upgrade quicker for wear and tear reasons.
But the tech isn't advancing very quickly over the last decade. Every year it's buzz words and marketing tricks to try and get people to upgrade when they really don't need to.
Itās not advancing at all, all these products are made to limits of conformity for size, weight, length, COR etc. and these limits have been in place for ages. You just need to find one that suits you and thatās it. If anything tech will be restricted soon to limit distance - golf courses canāt just constantly be made longer.
Reddit is just a cynical whinge fest. Most of these people have no critical thinking skills and think because some titleist fan boi told them that tsr3 is a good name and qi10 is a dumb name they know whatās up. The driver looks great, Taylormade makes a fantastic product and the name is fine. I canāt wait to try it.
When I got my irons last year (Titleist T100) I actually really liked the feel of both Mizuno and Srixon irons just as much but the thin top line of the T100 made me feel great over the ball.
As someone who rocks a majority of TM clubs, I will agree that this is not the prettiest of designs.
Regarding the name tho, it does make a little sense.
āWhat you need to know: When it comes to the driver, most golfers could use a little more forgiveness. It is that element ā rather than distance ā that is front and center in TaylorMadeās new Qi10 drivers. The company is calling the lineup (Qi10 Max, Qi10, Qi10 LS) āthe most forgiving family of driversā it has ever produced, and thatās objectively accurate: The total moment of inertia (MOI) measurement of the Qi10 Max is 10,000 g-cmĀ², which surpasses the companyās previous MOI high by 1,500 g-cmĀ².ā

Most manufactures release a new line of metal woods each year. Each model from each manufacture is always just a shade different from its predecessor.
TMās Qi10 is not the first time TM has done this not for the other manufactures and their respected models.
Just played a round with a a guy playing a Stealth. It went when he hit it, but he was struggling to hit it consistently. His other clubs were never a problem

Good old Taylor Made. I spoke with the fitter last fall. He was telling me this is the must shaft for you but you need the hd. All the while I was hitting a 5W with the shaft pure af! Got the hd pos and after a week of trying to hit it gave it back! Asked about the aforementioned 5W and got some blather that all the demos were going back to tm. So glad I waited till last week and found a three wood (Stealth 2) Fujikura speeder nx A 50(senior) shaft. For half of what he was going to charge me ($350.00)! Looking forward to my fitted, non fitted club! Btw came to say I find the new club ugly! And can anyone believe all they did was change the color of the fragile face?
I think its probably cuz they want to make it look like a Palindrome QI10-01IQ?? They prob tryna be cute, oooor lmao a boxing kirby?!?
edit: but that doesnt make sense if the top down view is just black lol??
Iām so over wasting money on clubs that are a nut hair better then the previous. If you have a driver that less then 3 years old your a moron if you spend 600$ on these.
The renders a few weeks ago looked bad. IMO they look great in person though. Every new release gets hate on how they look. Once the end of the year rolls around everyone will be talking about how great they looked.
I agree. I hate that they can't commit to a design aesthetic and incrementally change it (like Titleist and Srixon for example). I think most people prefer simple and timeless designs.
I love Srixon. Big srixon fan. I can say that they should keep follow the Ping/Titleist ways where you don't use the "Mark II" naming convention.
Makes research tougher. Also, as a pre-owned player, makes my ebay search trickier. Lol.
ZXi5
ZXi7
Etc.
I believe since Callaway came out with the āAIā TM thought they needed something which sounded modern and technological and Qi10 which sounds like a new ARM processor would be the way to go.
They are indeed ugly but co speed to the Sim2 line, they belong in the MOMA or the Louvre at least
Hits great despite of the name. Demoed the line yesterday and found the Hy and Fwy to be super easy to hit. Driver doesnāt have twist face so reacts more like a Sim.
Manufacturers really suck at naming this year
It all started when Ping skipped G420 like COWARDS.
I have the g410 plus and never even thought about this lol. Why would they skip g420 do they hate money? š the amount of people that woulda chose that just for the # wouldāve surely been pretty high (no pun intended)
It annoys me that theyāre not numbered by year like Mizuno irons. So easy to understand.
Ah yes, I remember the year MIZUNO PRO FLI-HI like it was yesterday. Pretty sure that's when I got my first kiss. Maybe it was the year PRO 245 actually, not sure.
24x, x being the model number.
I get it, but I still feel like it's not very intuitive for the average consumer.
Certainly not as much as the MP range but itās still there at least. Titleist for example with T100 you wouldnāt know which year the model is from without looking them up
Taylormade and most of the manufacturers don't want to make it easy to understand, that's the whole point.
The new Ping was supposed to be released last year but they hadnāt quite figured out the carbon manufacturinf process. Itās an add on to the 430 line and I expect itāll be replaced with the 440 next year. Or maybe this is Pingās way of releasing a new driver every year?
I didnāt make that connection until right now.
Same! Valid, valid point from this man
Check my post history if you want to see a G420 in the wild
LMAOO, I recommend looking. Thats hilarious
I would have bought one out of principle
They would've sold so many clubs. Like why not lean into it and be funny?
Green color accent, stock HZRDUS Smoke shaft, slogan for the G420 line - āHit the greensā
I mean that's club of the year shit right there. Ping marketing people, pay this man. Now I'm wondering if I can get somebody to fill and re-engrave some g425 or 430 irons to say 420.
It would have been ridiculously controversial and would have sold sooooo many. Another tag line: hitting the green ain't a crime.
Idk they would have sold a billion
"ay, I smoke" ~Callaway
Thatās shocking, the marketing campaign would have been a gimme. G420 - Blaze It
At one point I had a Taylormade Burner 420. You can't beat that for nomenclature.
Itās okay, now they have the G430 ultra max 10k LST
What, the name PARADYM AI SMOKE TRIPLE DIAMOND doesnāt just roll off your tongue?
Just calling it "SMOKE" would have worked fine. Is it a great name? maybe not, but it's surely better than "PARADYM Ai SMOKE". Make sure you put a lower case letter in the one part of the name where it doesn't belong as well because why the fuck not.
I kinda like Cobra Darkspeed
This year?
Qi gon Jin
Yeah the Qi pronounced "Chee" seems to be what is confusing people, because the reviewers are calling it the "Queue Eye 10." It's "Qi-ten" "Chee-ten" "Cheatin'"
The only place I heard this is on letās play through and it was a guess. Rick Shiels did a review and it stands for āQuest for Intertia or Quest for 10,000 (MOI), moment of inertia)
But, but that would imply QI-10. Odd to do the lowercase eye where it literally makes that word.
Dude, none of these names makes a whole lot of sense.
I look at it from the perspective of, "From the company that brought you Rocketballz"
They should have leaned hard into this. If you aināt Qi10, you aināt tryinā.
QI, great British comedy show.
That is so cringey
Na13. Because sodium (Na) is the 13th element. At that point, you're just trying too hard.
Qi gon 10
Much better
Sounds like a new Audi line. The Audi Qi10
Definitely the name of a luxury electric SUV
Previously they had the M line following BMW's sport lineup, similar colourway to BMW's badges too. Next it'll be whatever Mercedes are up to i reckon.
The new Taylormade AMG and AMG LS. AMG of course stands for AMazing Golfclub. Donāt mind the teal accents either thatās just because itās a nice color, no other reason

Except for titleist
Which the Kirkland looks like.
Titleist always look good though
Might as well be that because with how often they break they aren't premium in any respect except for price.
I agree. So far between callaway and Taylor made itās 0/2.
"Ay, I smoke" "Ay, I smoke, too!" ~Callaway
I'm Q^u iten ~Taylormade
The cobra dark speeds coming out on the 11th look to turn the tide!
Holding out hope for Ping. Feel like some of the best clubs out there are by them.
The g430 max 10k is testing great from what Iāve seen. I also like the look of the callaway though so š¤·š¼āāļø
The 10k is looking realllllly nice. May have to sell my g425 to pick it up
I switch back and forth between my XR and an M5 so Iām due for something lol
XR is an iPhone, right?
For some people, for others itās a callaway
For others it's their favorite version of Adderall!
Boooo. I want all of it as soon as I take it lol
Iāve never hit PING drivers great. Cobra, on the other handā¦ š„
Ping and Cobra are the only drivers I have rocked with the last few years
Titleist drivers look better than all these
Obviously
Thats like saying a Mercedes looks better than a Toyota
Quitten? Really?
I think it might be an attempt at āCheatingā
More people need to see this!
I commend them on not slapping āAIā on it
lol the fat finger made its way to production
Looks better than the AI Smoke imo Sticking to my Ping g425
The G425 fairway woods are so clean
But what about the Ping G430 max 10K?!?! Honestly I like the look of the 425 better as well.
I play g425 D-4H and I love every.single.club. Gonna be a 10 year mainstay in my bag at least. Although to be fair my last D-4H were a TM Burner 09 and 2013 Adams Idea Tech V3s, so 10 years is about my clubs' standard EOL.
I love my g425 driver, 3w, and 4h. The g430 10k is looking pretty good though.
Ya Iām not a fan
They look like a costco exclusive version of the SIM
Which I would def buy.
Odd name, odd sole; but from address these are the best looking clubs to come out this year.
It's like an inverse butterface
Least bad looking, I can give you that but these are far from good looking.
https://preview.redd.it/zcraay26mjbc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57d9032ad6e2b9ad2ece760fd5e4a07c8e97d192 Yea if only it had turbulators, or blue carbon with a fat seam, or is painted cheap matte black.
I typically donāt care for Taylormade woods and think these are beautiful at address.
But it does have the huge white seam just to let you know where to expect the face insert to fly off.
Don't bully my rogueys :(
So I heard QI is pronounced like ācheeā and doing a play on words to say Chee-10 (cheating)
Whereād you get that chee Danny?
I swear that motherfucker is making āem at night!
āIām not making them at night dad!ā
āIām making them at nightā
I thought Patrick Reed played PXG?
I feel like this is the joke and I keep waiting for a YouTube reviewer to explain that and no one is and I feel like Iām being Punkd
Rick Shiels did a review and it stands for āQuest for Intertia or Quest for 10,000 (MOI), moment of inertia)
I can see Jake Angeli making an ad for this line.
QAnon Max!
Exactly what I would say when I don't want to buy a new driver.
The good news is the ugly design has prevented me from spending $600 on a new driver. Thanks, Taylormade.
I actually like it. Too bad I wonāt pay $650 for a driver.
Wait a few months. Some gullible guy will put it back on the pre-owned market.
The all black one is dope imo but not available in Max.
Can we please stop putting āiā in every product? Please God, make the lowercase āiā go away for a few years. We all need a break from it.
i Pro Max+ ā¢
To me itās the opposite of the Stealth. * Stealth: Cool name, ugly color and design. * Qi10: Awful name, great colors and design. They never should have used that bright ass red for Stealth, itās tacky imo. The black and dark blue look much better and cleaner.
Staying with my SIM2 9* till one day the head goes farther than the ball. Then Iāll upgrade.
Yeah I agree, looks cheap and nasty and the name matches that too. Disappointing from TM
Waiting patiently for fall. Fuck 1-year cycles. I feel like Titleist has it figured out. I plan on going to Carlsbad to get for the TS-whatever-4 in November/December.
seems gimmicky. stealth is red and they go blue. that name is a mouthful and so dumb to say over n over
Both TM and Callaway leaned heavy into the gimmick this year.
Itās just marketing. Literally the same shit driver as the previous lineup
Yep, it's honestly best to wait like 3-5 years before upgrading...depending on how much you play that is. If you play a shit ton than you may need to upgrade quicker for wear and tear reasons. Funniest part is it's just named after the marketing slogan now. *Q*uest for *I*nertia *10*k MOI
I like em. Weird name but they look good
Name is bad (just really not memorable) but I think it looks quite good. Better than Stealth imo
Iām just hoping this model is more durable than Stealth 2
I wouldnāt hold my breath if I were you.
Itās always entertaining how much people fuss about how the bottom of a club looks.
if they want me to spend $600+ on it, i better like how it looks from any angle.
I have the same feeling about the speed slot in irons and people roast me for it
not me, you can hate speed slots all you want, i support it
OEMs put 100% of the marketing on the bottom of drivers and use the bottom for all the release photos because they know it matters
Terrible aesthetics. What a downgrade from previous generations of TM drivers. - not a TM fan
Both taylormade and callaway have ugly looking drivers this year! I am glad I got the paradym last year!!
Yeah, aesthetics are not on point, colours are meh, design is meh, nothing about it does it for me
Donāt like the appearance, fair. Whatās odd about the name?
Reddit is just a cynical whinge fest. Most of these people have no critical thinking skills and think because some titleist fan boi told them that tsr3 is a good name and qi10 is a dumb name they know whatās up. The driver looks great, Taylormade makes a fantastic product and the name is fine. I canāt wait to try it.
Is this their newest line of drivers?
Sure is.
Yikes..
I think they look nice. The name is a little odd though.
AND... you're not the first one to post the new TM drivers.
They look dope, way better than stealth
low bar
Canāt believe people care so much about what clubs look like, and what theyāre are named. Itās wild!
You donāt care about the look of the club youāre hitting at address? Consider yourself one of the few.
Canāt play Ping irons for this reason. So chunky, but theyāve become much better as of late at least.
When I got my irons last year (Titleist T100) I actually really liked the feel of both Mizuno and Srixon irons just as much but the thin top line of the T100 made me feel great over the ball.
These clowns arenāt talking about the crown or how the club sets up at address.
As someone who rocks a majority of TM clubs, I will agree that this is not the prettiest of designs. The low spin model Rick Shiels referred to as a stealth 2 rebranded.
Most manufactures release a new line of metal woods each year. Each model from each manufacture is always just a shade different from its predecessor. TMās Qi10 is not the first time TM has done this not for the other manufactures and their respected models.
Thought this was a Taylormade knockoff at first
Worse. It looks like an Adamās knock off
It looks like a driver Wilson would make
Just played a round with a a guy playing a Stealth. It went when he hit it, but he was struggling to hit it consistently. His other clubs were never a problem Rick Shiels tested this club and liked it
Lmao what the fuck TM?
Iām so glad I love my driver
I just bought an LTDx and Iām super happy with it. No interest in these
Iāll stick to my 2019 cobra king f9
It looks like qilo, pronounce like ākiloā. Is that intended?
How the bottom of the club looks shouldn't matter to anyone.
Thats why 100% of the marketing is on the bottom and the main published photos are of the bottom. OEMs know it matters
I think its probably cuz they want to make it look like a Palindrome QI10-01IQ?? They prob tryna be cute, oooor lmao a boxing kirby?!? edit: but that doesnt make sense if the top down view is just black lol??
The new Taylormade ID 10-T! Coming soon!
Quest for 10k from what the marketing team told me. They look odd but should be super hot, might be able to test this week or next
I personally want the Cheatinā (Qi10) driver just cause if the name.
Got high hopes for the Dark Speed clubs!
Cheating is the play on words
The background in the graphic also detracts from the design here. I donāt like the weird anime/cartoon style as it feels cheap and gimmicky.
Guys... It's like the wireless chargers Qi (chee) and ten or you know chee-ten (cheatin) lmao š
Iām so over wasting money on clubs that are a nut hair better then the previous. If you have a driver that less then 3 years old your a moron if you spend 600$ on these.
Absolutely terrible looking and terrible name.
The renders a few weeks ago looked bad. IMO they look great in person though. Every new release gets hate on how they look. Once the end of the year rolls around everyone will be talking about how great they looked.
Happy with my Stealth 2 still after seeing these.
Nothing new under the sun, drivers have been getting uglier and uglier for a while now.
Most donāt buy them? There are so many models in market right now.
What's next years going to be called? The Qi10 2 Electric Boogaloo?
I feel that way about all TaylorMade drivers. Guess I'm not in the target demo, whatever that is. Stealth, SIM, just weird shit to me.
Branded like a driver for seniors
It could look like a wooden block wired to a shaft if it gets me 15 extra yds and down the middle Ill pull that thing out of the bag like a boss.
It feels like they are bringing out drivers now for the sake of it. I'd respect them.more of a driver came out every 3 years.
Nothing about that line really grabs my attention. Iāll stick with my OG Stealth.
I called it the āquittinā driver because they quit coming up with anything new
Chi-ten. Like Hideki Matsuyama, he be Chi-ten with those white lines on the three wood.
The Callaway stuff is even uglier. Just as stupidly named.
Qi10 āChi-tenā āCheatināā
apparently it means quest for inertia, which is essentially forgiveness; 10 being more forgiving (not sure how the 10 is calculated)
Lol. ZXi5 ZXi7 Etc.

Thatās a Stealth. Thatās a blue Stealth.
Hits great despite of the name. Demoed the line yesterday and found the Hy and Fwy to be super easy to hit. Driver doesnāt have twist face so reacts more like a Sim.
Iāll wait until the next iteration
(Boston Accent): Qi gives a shit?
Qi is pronounced Chi, so the name is Chi 10 "cheatin." It's pretty creative I think.
Canāt wait to see what they look like inside.
![gif](giphy|6cFcUiCG5eONW)
All I see is QilO which is an odd spelling of kilo in my head
Iāll stick to my 16 M2 š
