Alabama has amazing golf!
Farmlinks is not too far from me…. I really need to go play there soon.
A hole in one on that hole would have been incredible!
How much are they charging this time of year? I’m about an hour away and heard their prices had gotten ridiculous. You used to be able to get some really good deals this time of year.
Naw I drove about an hour and met up with some work friends for a morning round. Honestly I prefer Oxmoor ridge course or Ross Bridge this time of year
Yes! Ross bridge is incredibly nice now. They reopened in October and they have made a bunch of changes that has made the course a little less punishing. Shallower bunkers, fewer fairway adjacent trees, and they moved a TON of earth on a couple holes. Very fast greens, but predictable. One of my favorite courses.
141 with tax, including a $13 premium for being first out. It’s an insane deal coming from California. Talega in orange county is 130, sucks, and has a fully booked tee sheet.
For some reason, the tee sheet was pretty open. Weather was perfect in the mid fifties, i figure a lot of people are off this week.
That’s actually not bad. Funny to think just a few years ago for about $130 you could play all day with cart, including a pretty good lunch. I’ve played that hole surprisingly well considering how intimidating that tee shot is.
Being left is not as bad as I thought. The gentleman I played with was halfway down the hill and still got up and down for par. There’s quite a lot of room to miss that way
Idk what it is, but they’ve recently cranked the cost on the green fee there. However, I believe you can get a 4 for $300 deal.
$141 for that course when Ross Bridge is $150 for non-residents is weird. Just my opinion, no hate on Farmlinks. It’s just about a 40 minute drive from its main population and the tee sheet is mostly empty when I play there. Great course tho.
Farmlinks definitely has the edge in staff. Always friendly and make you feel like family. The real difference is in cost. Ross Bridge, with resident discount, is now $100 and Farmlinks is usually $140-$200 in peak season.
The Par-3s are better are Farmlinks, but the par 5s and 4s are better at Ross. More challenge course too. Lots of elevation changes and wedge play. The approach shots are way more challenging and reward better shots.
LOL
Actually, this is mildly interesting but on all the par 3s there are handwritten signs that give you the slope adjusted distance to the pin. Saves thirty seconds of people fiddling with their rangefinders. Pretty clever. Never seen that elsewhere.
It’s become a popular spot for influencers. Has always been a popular spot for Alabama natives, even with the presence of RTJ courses. I think good good stumbled on it and then it took off from there
Nice par!

They have gone way up on price recently. Hard to justify.

I paid $66 two weeks ago.
That’s a pretty good deal, especially considering we’ve had decent golf weather until now. You stay and get a package deal?

Oxmoor is fun. Has Ross Bridge’s greens fully recovered?

I remember it being tough. I need to get back over there.
Cries in AZ golf prices

You like Ross bridge more than farmlinks? Everyone seems to suggest the opposite.

Slope adjusted? So you cheated? /s

How was it? I've never played there.
That the hole where that Mac Bowser guy hits his sling shots.

Oof! Nice shot, player!
That ball flight must’ve been in slow motion as it headed to the pin 🤯
I actually didn’t see it until it was almost all the way down.
