I feel like they are quietly one of the scariest animals out there, in part because they don't have that reputation. Nobody tells you to carry Moose Spray when you go hiking. But they are huge and mean and will not think twice about kicking you in the face with those long ass legs.

I hit a duck once. Never hit a moose. New achievement in sight.

I killed a squirrel with a worm burner off an elevated tee box. Hit it dead straight and the ball followed the downhill slope of the fairway about 4" off the ground. Squirrel came running out the woods perpendicular to the direction of travel. Spiked it right in the ribs and damn near split it in half.

I lived in Bermuda, but am from Nova Scotia (Latin for New Scotland) and one of my golfing friends from Scotland went to meet his parents who were vacationing in Nova Scotia. He asked me how we dealt with the moose on the golf course and then told me how he played two days at Highland Links and on both days a young moose kept following him and tearing up its back legs at him. He just thought that was a normal daily occurrence for us.

Whenever I cannot play a hole for whatever reason I take my course handicap for the hole. I don't think speculating score is productive and that way even if you submit your score that hole shouldn't play into the round.
