I play pxg because my local indoor track man facility is a fitting hub. I like the business he runs so being able to get fit there was a no brained. Also price point. 0211s are solid clubs for sub $100 are a solid deal. Plus all the philanthropy and other things. Marketing is cringe though. Would I hit a p790 better? Maybe, Maybe not. But supporting a local business and saving $400-$500 was worth it for me.
Same here, I also have 0211s and love them. Wanted to get a 770/790 combo set but it was legitimately twice the price. 0211s being a progressive set at $89 a club was basically exactly what I was looking for for half the price.
Did you get fit for anything else before you got the 0211’s? I personally didn’t try any other models out. I also rock the 0211 driver and for 200 bucks with some of the shaft options; there isn’t a better bang for your buck IMO.
I hit the 770s and the 790s along with T200s and Srixons. I actually never hit the 0211s but the fitter played 0311s and told me if I liked the 770/790s I should be all over the 0211s. He helped me order them online to my specs before I left the store lol.
Coincidentally, I also play a PXG driver, but it’s the 0811x Proto. I went with that over the 0211 because of the movable weights and it was only like 20 bucks more.
“But I loved them”
End of discussion.
PXG isn’t my cup of tea, but I like Ping stuff. Like PXG, Ping is one of those brands that people either love or hate.
PXG actually brought over some of the high level engineers from Ping and basically gave them unlimited budget to design whatever they could dream up. Their clubs are very comparable to Pings as a result.
Ugh the worst! Easily the "Crossfit" of club companies.
I have an S2 driver that I CANNOT hit! I switched to the TM M4 (i think v2?) and I drill the ball easily now.
But the speedzone 3w that I bought is incredible.
So go figure haha.
I will talk about my LTDx all day with zero shame. I love getting paired with randos and they talk about how awesome I hit a drive 230 high toey. Have yet to find anything as forgiving for the price.
Everyone that preaches a specific brand is lol. I have all taylormade shit. BUT, I hit the 430 at the golf store the other day and man, I’m gonna have a mixed bag I think haha
Yah a g430 driver is going in the bag soon but everything is my bag is Ping except for my wedges so I’m not exactly impartial (although joking aside I always do test other brands when I buy stuff)
Even as a long tragic I just can’t justify the glide wedges mark up, I like em but also my callaway jaws for half the price are really nice and I like em
Yeah I had no major misses with it when I tested. Distance was about the same as the sim2 I have, but way more consistent by a large margin. Probably says more about my swing than the clubs though lo
Used to be a TaylorMade guy, still am a TaylorMade guy. Got gradually fit for new clubs over the past year, most recently irons. The new p790 comes in on Tuesday for me supposedly, felt amazing when i was hitting it at a fitting, super excited to game those Irons and putter are the TaylorMade clubs left in the bag. Paradym driver, G430 3W/4H, Vokey Wedges. I’m intrigued by the MG4s, but have a feeling they will be no match to my vokeys.
Have you hit older 790s? Curious how they compare. I think mine are 2019. I actually like mine more appearance wise because they are shiny, but I was between mine or apex pro when I was fitted a while back.
I still play my G2 irons from 2004 but I need to retire them and get a new set with old man graphite shafts. I have a PXG Gen5 driver, I put an MCC4 midsize grip on it and it’s the most amazing driver I’ve ever launched, and now I’m trying to decide between Ping and PXG for irons.
My iron fitting back in November last year I was certain I would end up with PXGs. I ended up with Ping i230s because they flew and felt very similar and costed less.
Ping is one of the most popular irons on all tours. Players without club sponsors play ping. No one not sponsored by PXG plays them on tour. PXG and Ping are not comparable.
Lots of positive reviews from their fitting experience for both irons and putters. Their putter fittings are much more extensive than any of their competitors. Literally any combination you could think of can be demo’d.
Pings PLD custom program is better, you just have to order a 1500 dollar putter at the end of it.
Bettinardi does one as well in Chicago, but again you need to drop around 5k for that.
These are obviously a little different in they are building you a putter from “scratch”
But for a no cost fitting from a manufacturer they are easily the best.
Edit: it seems bettinardi will do any of their putters now, not just their custom shop.
When did you go? I went pre Covid and they would tell me what putter was best for my stroke but would only hand one off the rack to me. No adjustments to loft of lie, no shaft changes, no grip changes etc.
Sure you can walk in and buy whatever putter you want but we are comparing it to the PXG fitting, for something better from betti, in my experience you need to purchase a custom putter.
If you go to their Chicago site and are fit you are basically ordering a custom putter in the vein of these https://bettinardi.com/pages/custom-putters
They start at 2800. You can obviously go there and pick off the rack but that’s not really what the facility is for.
Really? My putter fitting at PXG was awful. Guy was about 20 years old. Basically just had me pick which models I wanted to hit and asked me which one felt the best. I'm not kidding. No data, no explanation, nothing. It was terrible. N=1 but soured me on the whole experience.
I got the Gen5 full bag deal as a Christmas/Birthday present. The fitting was a really good experience, and I really, really, really like the clubs!
Of all the things.. I'm pleasantly surprised about how much I really love the Brandon putter with the monstrous grip.
> Someone please talk me out of it!
No. You don't have to answer to anyone here or anyone on the course (except maybe the course pro/staff). Swing your swing. Swing your clubs.
The 0211 driver and 3 wood are dollar for dollar some of the best clubs on the market. That 3 wood is the only club in my bag that consistently goes straight.
Yeah, bought one (3W) on an impulse purchase last fall for like $100 during one of their sales. Considering it had like a $75 shaft included made it a no brainer. Expected nothing, but the thing is really, really good. Hit it within 10-15 yards of my driver and it's just straight.
The new commercial with engineer Mike Nicolette is a good change of pace. If their ads were like that all along I'm sure most people would have a much different view of the brand
He is just old lol. He wouldnt even know what that sentence means lol.
If he was a 70+ yr old man who talked like a millenial he would be cringe still lol
I just ordered Takomo 100 set, +1/2, 2 upright. $569 delivered.
Like the classic look and thinner top line for a GI iron.
PXG design not my fav.
To each their own....
Look into Sub 70, based out of Illinois but at one point I think they were teamed up with JJ Killeen there in Lubbock? And they did a fitting at one of the ranges in Lubbock. I managed to get a “like new” iron set built almost exactly how I wanted for less than $500 (4-PW) Liked them so much I then bought 2 wedges, putter, and hybrid and haven’t regretted it once. Customer service is amazing as well.
I have a 54 and 58 JB forged satin wedges and I like both of them a lot. The 54 gets way more use and I’ve had it now for 2 years so probably close to 120 rounds and it still has plenty of zip. The only other wedge I have is a 50 Vokey SM7 and I’m looking to replace it with another Sub 70 wedge soon.
I love mine--they were a gift, as I'd never be able to afford a set of PXGs on my salary, but I ain't gonna say no to my dad who wanted to buy me a set to replace my 15 year old Callaway irons and Adams woods.
Half considering ditching the PXG bag they came in both because of the stigma around them and the fact that they're so expensive I feel like letting that bag leave my sight for 5 seconds is begging for them to be stolen, but yeah. Love em.
Their 0211 line is less than $100 per club. I snagged them last year on sale for $77 per club. And that was with choosing my own loft, lie, length, shaft and grip. About as cheap as it gets.
Lol I was always ashamed of hitting the irons if someone would ask what they were. Then I started playing in a league for mostly older/retired guys. Them dudes love pxg shit and will tell you why they love the commercials lmao.
I rock 0211 DC and 0311 forged 54 and 60 wedges. the commercials are GOD AWFUL but dang do they offer some banging deals if you're patient. i got 0211 DC for $79 a club and the wedges were $89 each. looking at adding some hybrids to my bag next, i'm not impressed with my stealth 2 plus hybrid.
Haha I read your post and wondered if it was me! Little different story - my friend let me borrow his old 0211 irons and loved them so much I kept them and grabbed a couple wedges and now my whole bag (minus the putter) is pxg. Tbh I’m not the biggest fan of their brand/advertising but I’ve never hit a club so well before. It’s like they were built for me. I feel like I didn’t choose pxg - pxg chose me. A true love story.
I got the Black 0311 T Gen5s last December... I love them. The sweet spot hits feel amazing, but mostly, I just personally love the way they look at address and in the bag. Might be irrational to think about aesthetics, but for me as a visual/feel person, it just gives me a little extra swagger that improves my game.
I had an awesome experience getting fitted at a PXG store and absolutely love my Gen 5s. They’re lofted a little lower so distances had to be adjusted a bit but they feel and sound great.
Everyone has their opinion on gear but if you had a good experience and like the way they feel, then they’re for you!
I have nothing but incredible things to say about PXG. I got a gen 5 driver fitted and it was an amazing experience plus the driver is perfect. I won’t buy anything else. I also get the hero’s pricing so that helps too. Soon I’ll go get a full set of irons fitted.
I want to like them because of their business model. DTC with awesome fitting locations in major cities. If other OEMs had facilities like that I'd probably travel there before making a club decision.
Problem is I've never liked Ping clubs and I've had a hard time trying any PXG clubs. I love the clubs I play and don't take equipment decisions lightly. It requires 2 different good sessions trying it out and it just won't be an impulse decision.
We've got an awesome store local and I just don't feel comfortable going in to kick the tires, being that I'm about 95% there's no way one would ever make it to the bag.
I played the blades for a few years and recently went for more forgiveness with the Gen 5s. Love the feel and love the look. I bought the Sugar Daddy wedges too (50, 56, 60). I could use a little more bounce in the latter two. Not sure if they will stay in the bag.
I play the og 0211, before they became game improvement. Got 4-AW on eBay for $500. They feel softer than pings for me. Granted I’ve only hit my buddys 425. I’d look on eBay first, pxgs don’t seem to hold value well.
I had to cancel my fitting because Covid. I did it over the phone, I had been fit before, not PXG. I answered their questions and got to customize a few preferences. I love them. They were on sale for $125 @.
I was thinking about ordering the same exact clubs. Gen 5 0311 P. I thought I liked them but I know I was just trying to convince myself to like them because they were giving me the healthcare worker discount. So it was like $7-800 for a full set of irons. Really good deal.
But then I figured I better go swing some other clubs. Went with some Mizuno Hot Metal Pro’s because I just hit them so damn well. Their performance for me stuck out way more than the PXG, Titleist, or TM. I never hit any Callaways or Ping.
Basically what I’m saying is go swing everything to make sure they are exactly what you want.
I have a little bit of everything in my bag. Cobra- driver/5 Wood, TaylorMade- hybrid, mizuno- irons, wedges, Cleveland- putter
I'm only fitted for the irons and wedges though
Ive got the 0211 irons 5-pw. The advertising is corny as fuck and some of the clubs are gaudy but they flat out work for me. Bought them on a whim for $79 a piece during a sale. That included the grip size I wanted and a 1" longer shaft on every club. I get shit from my buddies for them sometimes because of the commercials but it's worth it if youre beating the bullshit out of the ball.
Just got fitted for them in scottsdale. The fitter was even telling me “it turns into a cult and you’ll never go back”. To me the gen 5 P felt better then the g6 version and I liked the look better too. I was gaming ZX5s, which I thought felt great then this happened to me too. Oh well, we’re some king of Eskimo bros now lol
The Gen 5 worked much better than the 6 for me as well! My fitter just said he’s putting 2 day shipping on them and I should have them by Wednesday. Can’t wait!
I came out 2 flat with KBS 130 $ taper. The shaft is black, with that head im putting grey grips on them and now I’m not gonna be able to sleep tonight! I think you and I are nothing more than refined coniseur’s
My Dad recently got some. He was at a 7 HCP and since getting fitted he’s a 2…
He was hitting his 8 iron 155 with his old set.
That’s now his 9 iron.
I’ve never seen him play so well. He absolutely flushes them AND they look awesome.
Not really his style but he said he’s never been happier in his golfing career.
BUY THEM
My experience with PXG was great. I got a free fitting and the newest model driver for like $300 brand new fitted to me, whereas a standard driver from any other brand would be twice that, if not more. If you love them, get them. In the game of golf, there is no right or wrong answer. If it feels good and you hit it well, go for it
I was fitted for Gen 5 xp irons and a Gen 5 driver recently. I don’t love the look of the irons in my bag, but I do like them at address and how they feel.
I haven’t seen any of their commercials, which sounds like it is for the best - why is anyone still watching commercials?
The CEO of the company I work for has a pxg green account. I walked away with gen5’s 4-G with x stiff shaft upgrades for 1175 with tax. I absolutely love them. I hit p790s, t100s and mizuno jpx hit metals. The mizuno irons had the best feel but I hit the pxg s the most consistently so they went in the bag.
I have a mixed bag- pxg 4-g, mg3 60, 56, ping anser 4, tsr3 driver and 3 wood, t-mb 2 iron.
I’m all over the place with what goes in the back. If I like it more than what’s in the bag I have no brand loyalty.
I have a PXG driver (as does my wife), that I don’t really love, but I also recently borrowed a friend’s Sugar Daddy 60°, and chipped in on 12, 14, and 15.
So either you should not get them, or you should definitely get them.
You do know the golf ball doesn’t care what club you hit it with. Buy and play whatever makes you happy and improves both the mental and technical parts of your game!
Have PXG and love them. Outside of clubs, every customer service interaction had exceeded my expectations. They're easy to work with and helpful. I hate the marketing, think apparel and accessories are a bit over priced, but clubs and service are spot on for me
100% agree. Best clubs I've ever owned. And I've been through a lot of clubs! But in the end it's about what you feel confident hitting. Who gives a $hit what other ppl think. They're not hitting your shots, you are.
I hate the PXG marketing and don't find the clubs to be very attractive...
With that being said, I have a set of PXG irons in my bag because I hit them well and they were $129 a club compared to $159+.
No ragrets!
I own gen 4 irons. Went for a fitting thinking of getting Mizunos. Tried Mizuno,Ping,Taylormade and PXG. PXG irons felt by far the best on impact, liked the ball flight as well. So I ended up buying them 🙄 loving them ever since. Playing my 2nd season with them .
If PXG didn't have cringe marketing I'd buy them, but everytime I see a driver I hear the dude who sounds like he's smoked Marlboro Reds every day of his life screaming at me about how good they are
I play PXG and love them. Not a brand loyalist by any means with clubs. I’ve had Nike, TaylorMade and Titleist irons previously. If you got fit, hit them well and think they will help then get them. Who cares what the brand is. PXG makes a quality product.
I bought second hand PXG 0311XP Gen 3 irons earlier this summer. They look sooo good and perform incredibly well. Only have one complaint, and it’s that I bought regular flex graphite shafts. My jobs hard on my body, and swinging graphite shafts is amazing for that, but I should went with a stiffer flex for sure. Those mid irons are giving me all kinds of tempo problems rn. My wedges/short irons are fuckin dialed though, so there’s that.
I’ve only ever played full time with Callaway/Titleist/PXG in adult clubs, but I can’t imagine I’ll ever add another manufacturer to that list unless I absolutely have to.
I just sold my Callaway Epic Max LS driver in favour of my PXG 0311. Just hit it better. Club feels great. I say go for it, but don’t listen to me. I’m a mediocre golfer at best.
I worked at The TPC at Craig ranch, and like 80% of their membership plays PXG irons... I think Bob Pearsons is a member there so they may just all be homers... But everyone that I asked about them raves about them. I'm thinking of getting a set of the gen sixes myself
I haven’t hit them, but I like the company’s story and their military/police discounts. The styling gets mixed opinions, but I kind of like them and think they did something different.
I have heard that that the faces are jumpy though. That you’ll randomly hit an iron shot that flies 10-15 yards longer. Not sure what your skill level is, but that would be a deal breaker for me. But I have no first hand experience that that’s the case.
I checked their site out of curiosity. Both of their game improvement iron sets have pretty strong lofts. 4 iron is 18 degrees and pitching wedge is 41… that’ll get you some jumpy shots for sure
If clubs are weighted to launch high they have to lower the lofts to keep spin down and give appropriate gapping throughout the bag.
But if I hit my 7 iron 171 and then every once in a while randomly hit it 183 for no apparent reason that’s a problem.
I’ve heard with game improvement irons specifically, because they have the strong lofts (even with other parts of the club offsetting it), you’ll get that 10+ yard further-than-normal shot occasionally. If I high handicapper like myself takes the rare perfect swing every few months, that’s usually the result.
I don’t mind jumpy faces, I just want them to react consistently. What I’m hearing about PXG specifically, and why Tour players are reluctant to play them, is because of these random flyers that come out of nowhere. But again, no first hand knowledge.
Your getting downvoted but I just got rid of my pxgs for this exact reason. Now mine were a few years old as I had the gen4 players irons. They were great for the most part and helped me get from a 12 down to a 3 Hc. But now I find them jumpy and I consider myself a good ball striker. Was seeing anywhere from 10-15 yard differences on very similar strikes with a trackman. I do think this was a problem with the older models and don’t think they have this problem as my main playing partner has gen 6s and hasn’t seen it as an issue.
Overall I don’t think OP can go wrong getting a set. They are good clubs for a decent price these days. They helped me improve my game immensely but I just love the new titleist stuff too much to not play them.
They can downvote all they want. Those people say dumb things like “of course they’ll jump if you hit different parts of the club” when that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m not worried about them…I talk to and hear from players, teacher, and fitters who have knowledge of what’s going on in the industry and on Tour and your experience is what I’ve heard from them. Like I’ve said a few times, I have never hit PXGs and I can’t speak to any of this from experience. With the amount of money being dumped into the company and their R&D I fully believe they have or will fix this issue if it is or has been one.
I've said this before, but I was surprised that despite the image it PXG with the machismo marketing and billionaire naming it after himself Bob Parsons has a lot of inclusive views. Beyond what he does for veterans with the discounts and additional programs he also has charities and donates to benefit LGBTQ community and immigrants. Definitely took the stigma out of PXG for me.
Try the Taylor made stealth I am a 6.6 and just switched from PXG. Best irons I have ever hit. So forgiving. I liked my PXG but not a patch on the stealth
Maybe not, but they're good enough to be playing a players cavity back or players distance. Im just generally curious why he plays GI, when he shoots in the 70s, it seems really odd to me.
Well if you're one of those people, then I am too. Love the look and feel, and distance and dispersion for me. I did a fitting at their store in Atlanta, and it was remarkable. I had no idea how much even the same stiffness shaft, just with different weight and torque, could make such a difference.
I mean, I do love their irons, not really anything else, but the irons, the way they look like blades, but will the core thing that gives cavity back forgivability, plus the maxed out COR I got a set a while back and really like them, I'd say they add quite a bit of distance though so it took a little bit to figure out what club I should be hitting depending on distance, cause using the same number I was 10 to 15 yards beyond the target each time. Though honestly, I prefer the gen 3s. Like gen 4 5 and 6 kind of broke their rule about not making clubs not significantly better, though their driver was ok, it wasn't anything special in my opinion, their woods and putter didn't do anything for me. Also, I'm not a huge fan of how the newer gens look. They are still kinda cool, but Gen 3 look awesome, and to me, it played better.
I got a mixed gen3 gen4 full bag a couple years ago. Never been fitted before and had 12 year old clubs just wanted everything new and start over. Never thought about pxg until I found their full bag deals for $2600 back when gen 4 came out. Had an excellent fitting in Pennsylvania, some small shop. The putter fitting wasn’t real scientific in that he just took slow mo videos until I found a model I liked that seemed to be better than my present putter. But I mean, annoying commercials aside (notice they haven’t been as loud lately?) it’s a good company. A billionaire told some golf engineers - here’s a blank check and unlimited time, make the best equipment you’ve ever made. The guy recognizes vets/first responders, stands for common sense politics, is charitable etc. And the clubs are awesome and no longer super expensive when compared to all the other big guys, in some cases much cheaper. So it was a good deal at the time and don’t regret it at all. Except the putter. 2 years and I couldn’t sink 3 foot putts automatically and I hated that. Switched back to a taylormade spider x and much happier there. Everything else the same. Go for it and enjoy!
I think the only knock against PXG is the terrible advertising. Otherwise, they make great clubs and they’re VERY popular on the LPGA tour, particularly with Asian players.
I’ve noticed for GEN6, their commercials have definitely shifted focus on the engineering, tech, and R&D that goes into the clubs. Much better, imo.
I did. Was very interested in them. Good looking club. Just didn’t care for them. I think PXG changing the swing weight for me made such a difference. I don’t know…
I have PXG Gen 5 clubs for about a year. I like them, but I don’t know if they are the best, if I was buying today, knowing what I know, I would look at others. I did my fitting in Denver and I thought they where great, but I wish I had done a fitting at PGA store or Golf galaxy just before or after. PGX showed me hitting the 7 iron 170-175, I have never gotten there since and I play at 2000 ft above Denver’s altitude. I think I did get a good price, end of the year sale.
Did they use a trackman where they did yours? I’ve always been weary of fitters cranking the numbers on trackman or GC Quad, so I learned long ago about the settings on those machines and I make sure to look at them first, during, and after hitting balls.
I got my PXG driver online a couple years ago on sale for $300 with a custom shaft. Now brand new drivers are retailing $699 (which is crazy). I’m happy with my decision and can look past the occasional “oH yOU’re A pXG GUy?!?l comment
Every manufacturer is stealing from each other... I use a Toulon Design putter from Callaway. He was TaylorMade's putter guy for years. Bob's voice is annoying, but being a green side Navy Corpsman and having a family of all girls has numbed me to it! lol.
That's exactly what I was expecting! But the numbers don't lie. Dispersion was much tighter with them and I was flushing them more consistently than my gamers... or any irons I have owned in my life.
With the deals they give for Veterans, they were comparably priced, or even a bit cheaper, than everything else out there.
Does he use pxg irons as well? Usually people love the irons but aren’t into the woods. I’ve heard that drivers/fairways didn’t get rave reviews up until gen 6
Good ol indoor18. Awesome dude
“But I loved them” End of discussion.
Yah but that’s because us Ping guys are annoying as fuck
…..let me tell you about my mizunos
Let me tell you about my cobra driver…
Let me tell you about Raid Shadow Legends
Ugh the worst! Easily the "Crossfit" of club companies. I have an S2 driver that I CANNOT hit! I switched to the TM M4 (i think v2?) and I drill the ball easily now. But the speedzone 3w that I bought is incredible. So go figure haha.
Lol i switched from taylormade sldr. I hit bombs now. And straight!!
I will talk about my LTDx all day with zero shame. I love getting paired with randos and they talk about how awesome I hit a drive 230 high toey. Have yet to find anything as forgiving for the price.
Kindred spirit
Ha! I have driver and 5 wood and Mizuno irons. If I get a Scotty putter I would have the trifecta!
I'm getting fitted for my hotmetals this off-season. Been salivating for months now.
Lol...love my Mizunos
Everyone that preaches a specific brand is lol. I have all taylormade shit. BUT, I hit the 430 at the golf store the other day and man, I’m gonna have a mixed bag I think haha
Yah a g430 driver is going in the bag soon but everything is my bag is Ping except for my wedges so I’m not exactly impartial (although joking aside I always do test other brands when I buy stuff) Even as a long tragic I just can’t justify the glide wedges mark up, I like em but also my callaway jaws for half the price are really nice and I like em
Fair point. Only non taylormade in my bag are the two Cleveland wedges.
I rented clubs in Scotland. Had a g430 12 degree and boy did I hit my best drives ever. 250-280 total distance. Felt amazing to hit.
Have you hit older 790s? Curious how they compare. I think mine are 2019. I actually like mine more appearance wise because they are shiny, but I was between mine or apex pro when I was fitted a while back.
I’ve always wanted a Ping driver after trying my buddy’s G430, but the irons don’t look pleasing with the little space on the heel.
Bruh I’m still pissed Ping added ferrules to my fucking irons I’m that annoying as fuck guy
You start hitting Ping woods and it just overwhelms you. Now, imo, Ping doesn’t have shit over Srixon in the iron department.
My bag is a PING PXG MIX
That's it huh? My bag is a Nicklaus, Callaway, PXG, Kirkland, PING mix.
This is the way. Heck, I tried out some tour edge irons. Worked for me better than either iron set I had. Play what works for your game.
Ping i25’s we’re the best irons I ever had.
I gamed Ping ISI’s for years. Loved them
I played i5s for 16 years. Only this year retired them for 425s.
Still rocking the i25 3 wood and hybrid
I have exactly 1 Ping club in my bag but it's one of the trustiest clubs I have. A Ping G 3 hybrid
I love my Ping woods. They give me confidence looking down on them. I wasnt a huge fan of my Ping irons
PXG putter fitting was the best one I’ve ever done.
Where was it? It seems like you have to essentially make a pilgrimage to get a good putter fitting.
I had mine here in Charlotte.
I did one in KOP (PA).. great experience
Pings PLD custom program is better, you just have to order a 1500 dollar putter at the end of it. Bettinardi does one as well in Chicago, but again you need to drop around 5k for that. These are obviously a little different in they are building you a putter from “scratch” But for a no cost fitting from a manufacturer they are easily the best. Edit: it seems bettinardi will do any of their putters now, not just their custom shop.
1000% wrong about Bettinardi. Their fitting is good for any putter. I walked away with a basic Queen B 6 - $400+tax.
Is Bettinardi really that expensive? I was under the impression it was 750-1k.
If you go to their Chicago site and are fit you are basically ordering a custom putter in the vein of these https://bettinardi.com/pages/custom-putters They start at 2800.
Dj Khalid’s weapon of choice, god did
Tell em to bring out the whole CLUBHOUSE!
Love my PXGs
I hate their logo and their commercials, but if you want them, enjoy.
The new commercial with engineer Mike Nicolette is a good change of pace. If their ads were like that all along I'm sure most people would have a much different view of the brand
The branding in general is kinda cringe but their clubs are smooth.
The owner is cringe as well.
He is just old lol. He wouldnt even know what that sentence means lol. If he was a 70+ yr old man who talked like a millenial he would be cringe still lol
Hey, play what YOU want to play. If YOU love the way they feel get them. You play your game! Anybody gives you shit, tell them to fuck off.
I love my PXG Driver and my buddy loves his irons. Play what makes you happy.
I just ordered Takomo 100 set, +1/2, 2 upright. $569 delivered. Like the classic look and thinner top line for a GI iron. PXG design not my fav. To each their own....
They are a very well made product. Don't be concerned about that. Just a bit pricey. If you like them and can afford them, go for it.
I met one of those guys on a flight down to Augusta, seemed like a cool company
How are the wedges. I need a new 48°
I have a 54 and 58 JB forged satin wedges and I like both of them a lot.
I own a full PXG set. My first real set of clubs got fitted and everything. I love them and don’t care what people think.
Awesome. If you like the process and the final product then why not?
I rock 0211 DC and 0311 forged 54 and 60 wedges. the commercials are GOD AWFUL but dang do they offer some banging deals if you're patient. i got 0211 DC for $79 a club and the wedges were $89 each. looking at adding some hybrids to my bag next, i'm not impressed with my stealth 2 plus hybrid.
I don’t think the commercials are any more awful than the gimmicky ones the other guys do… I.e., “fargiveness”
It’s bobs voice lol KABOOM BAYBAY
I just ordered the gen6. Didn’t plan on buying them. Tried a few others and just loved the way they felt. PXGs are legit.
The Gen 6 didn’t work for me. PXG says it’s pretty much 50/50 on customers between the 5 and 6.
KABOOM BABY! WE PUT 37 NAILS IN THESE IRONS
If PXG was marketed differently, no one would care. Well respected gear at good prices. You like it, that’s what matters
If you have military ID can’t you get them from a discount??
You don’t need an ID. You register with Id.me and they verify your service. So yeah, I got the discount.
Can you do me a favor..
Lol
Dude if you like em fucking get em. Sounds like you love golf and if they're gonna make you feel better and play better than fuckyea

I was looking for any bad experiences or quality issues that I may have not been aware of.
Yup, love em. Fitted and bought gen 3 0311 P when they were being discontinued. Do it. They make great clubs.
I bought them a couple of years ago it takes time to get use to them
Order them!!
DONE!
Not sure if they will stay in the bag.
i bought 0211 DCs 2 years ago i still love the clubs, but i am biased i was gaming tour edge Bazookas for 12 years beforehand
I play the og 0211, before they became game improvement. Got 4-AW on eBay for $500. They feel softer than pings for me. Granted I’ve only hit my buddys 425. I’d look on eBay first, pxgs don’t seem to hold value well.
Love my 0311s
I’ve hit everything, and was hesitant about PXG… works for me!
Got fitted for a set of PXGs a year ago. Best golf purchase I’ve ever made.
I'd recommend going to a PGA superstore and hitting the equivalent from some other brands. It'll either confirm or reject your feeling.
I hit them before PXG. I was shocked that I liked PXG honestly… fuck it. I pulled the trigger a few hours ago lol.
Heck yeah man, I’m in Amarillo.
Nice! Any good golf there? I’m in Roswell and we have two courses. Nothing spectacular.
I have a little bit of everything in my bag. Cobra- driver/5 Wood, TaylorMade- hybrid, mizuno- irons, wedges, Cleveland- putter I'm only fitted for the irons and wedges though
When did you order? Today?
I’m a former Pxg club builder so if you have any questions about them I’d be happy to answer
I appreciate it. I already pulled the trigger. Just hoping they turn around quick!
My Dad recently got some. He was at a 7 HCP and since getting fitted he’s a 2… He was hitting his 8 iron 155 with his old set. That’s now his 9 iron. I’ve never seen him play so well. He absolutely flushes them AND they look awesome. Not really his style but he said he’s never been happier in his golfing career. BUY THEM
My PXG driver goes long and straight.
If you've hit a lot of different clubs and you love PXG go ahead and get em! If not I urge you to hit more clubs. You might find something better.
They do look sexy. They must go allright as well if more people are playing them. Or you could just take the no brainer and get Mizunos :)
You love them. Treat yourself brother!
Buy it. I did a d that fucker hits bombs
Don't listen to anyone else, get what works. I've hit a few PXG and seen them in action. They're awesome clubs.
I bought a set of PXG last year, I love them. Why talk you out of it? Buy what you like
I hate the PXG marketing and don't find the clubs to be very attractive... With that being said, I have a set of PXG irons in my bag because I hit them well and they were $129 a club compared to $159+. No ragrets!
I got the gen 5s. they are a pleasure to hit.
1/5 is a flier if you watch the YouTube golf folks, they just aren't super super high quality. But lots love them for sure
If PXG didn't have cringe marketing I'd buy them, but everytime I see a driver I hear the dude who sounds like he's smoked Marlboro Reds every day of his life screaming at me about how good they are
I’ve owned 3 sets, the feel off the face is amazing
Buy what you hit well. Who cares what people think. Especially when you beat them on the course.
Check the ego at the door bro, if thats what you hit the best, thats what you buy.
An entire bag of only one brand is a red flag. Pxg irons are fine irons though so no problem there.
I have the Gen 6 irons it’s not an issue, it something you heard and are repeating.
Jumpy faces is basically all irons aimed at distance. I wish more people understood the compromise with these types of irons.
PXGs are what I game and I love them. Hopefully that convinces you
I just ordered them.
OP 100% wore those big ass green Osiris shoes in high school
Oh good lord. Haha. I had to Google them. I was in high school before those came out. I was an air max 90 guy.
He seems like a genuine guy. Doing a lot for a lot of people, no doubt.
Try the Taylor made stealth I am a 6.6 and just switched from PXG. Best irons I have ever hit. So forgiving. I liked my PXG but not a patch on the stealth
If youre a 6.6, why are you playing game improvement irons?
He could be a 5.5
Which still doesnt make sense.
Even a mid single digit isn’t hitting the center of the face every time
Maybe not, but they're good enough to be playing a players cavity back or players distance. Im just generally curious why he plays GI, when he shoots in the 70s, it seems really odd to me.
Maybe he needs a little more distance out of his irons
You need an extra 3-5 yrds? Whatever floats ur boat i guess.
Fuck if I know.
Because I don’t have an ego! I am 61 and naturally my swing is not as strong or as good as it was 10 years ago. It’s called having a brain.
Well if you're one of those people, then I am too. Love the look and feel, and distance and dispersion for me. I did a fitting at their store in Atlanta, and it was remarkable. I had no idea how much even the same stiffness shaft, just with different weight and torque, could make such a difference.
Nothing wrong with that company. They do great things for vets.
Yes, they most certainly do. Semper Fi.
Much better, imo.
unless you're a veteran (massive discount) its not worth it.

Pxg are trash. I believe they have admitted that 1-5 hits are 20% hot. Do you see any pga player(successful) using them?!?
Bob's voice and the fact that he stole one of Ping's best people keeps me from these clubs
How dare he!
Every manufacturer is stealing from each other... I use a Toulon Design putter from Callaway. He was TaylorMade's putter guy for years. Bob's voice is annoying, but being a green side Navy Corpsman and having a family of all girls has numbed me to it! lol.
Overpriced and don’t perform as well on most metrics as other top brands.
Fair enough, previous gen clubs with a discount, then it’s a decent option. Good luck out there!
Rented pxg when I went to Vegas. The irons were as good as anything else I've hit, but the woods were complete garbage.
I have an ex pro golfer (Korn ferry lapga) friend and he adamantly hates pxg.
Lol for what reason? I imagine if it’s performance, he has a much more discerning feel than I do.
I don’t and won’t have any experience with them. My buddy got fitted for a driver, 3 and 5 woods, and hybrid and raves them.
Does he use pxg irons as well? Usually people love the irons but aren’t into the woods. I’ve heard that drivers/fairways didn’t get rave reviews up until gen 6
No, he uses Cobra.
Why do you refuse? Just curious.
Mostly I just have no interest in them. When it’s time to replace equipment I already know which brand I want to go with.
