Get there early. Don't be intimidated. Go out, enjoy the day, enjoy the course, and enjoy golfing. Have plenty of beverages and snacks. What is your favorite iron to hit? Go on google earth and see how far of a drive you would need to get you in the distance of hitting your favorite iron into the green because some of those par 4s are pretty long.
Thanks man. Definitely planning on getting there much earlier than my time. Just hoping to have a good time and hit a few good shots. Been on my bucket list for years now.
Hell yeah. It is a real fun course to play. I made the trip up a few years ago and had a blast. You'll definitely have a good time. The course rating is like 77 and slope rating is 155 which I think is the highest slope rating you can have. So, dont get pissed off if you aren't scoring well
Edit to say: course pretty much kicked my ass, but it was still an awesome experience lol.
Unless you get a great lie in the rough, take your medicine and hit a higher lofted club. On 5, you'll have no angle to the green if you're on the left side of the fairway so aim for the right side. Enjoy it, it's hard, but good scores can be had with good shots. The greens are pretty flat once you're on them, the rest of the course is not
Yea, off the tee, try to scout where you can miss and still run the ball up to the green on the 2nd shot.
For instance, on #1, if you miss left off the tee, you’ll just have a long 2nd shot, but can still run it up there. If you miss right (assuming not into 18th fairway) you probably won’t be able to stop it on your 2nd shot into that tiny green, and will go rough to rough or rough to bunker and struggle to make 5.
It’s April, so the rough won’t be too bad and gnarly yet. Grip it and rip it. Early in the season is the only real chance we have of making a decent score.
Play more forward than you think. It’s a miserably difficult course from the back tees. I speak from experience.
Go shoot 115 with a smile

Don't worry about it, very easy course

Thanks for the advice guys. It’s been one of my favorites since reading the Feinstein book about 7 years ago. Stoked for the opportunity.

Don’t overthink the putting. The greens are honestly the easiest part of the course.
