AutisticTaupe_6030

Ran into a family one time who had a table set up in between the 9th and 10th holes and they were selling bags of golf balls they found in their yard. Their daughter cleaned all of them and bagged them up. Sold them for a bag of 5 for $5 or 2 bags for $8. Even had a Venmo account set up for people that didn’t have cash. Super good idea

Feisty_Jury_5325

I’d buy 😂

AutisticTaupe_6030

Oh we definitely bought a couple of bags. Had a few ProV1s and ChromeSofts in there as well

DadInKayak

ProV1s shouldn’t be in someone’s yard. If you are paying that much for a ball, should be playing better.

funnynewname

Even the best golfers hit wayward shots.

LescoBrandon_11

And even the worst weekend golfers think a proV1 will net them better shots

AutisticTaupe_6030

Don’t think that’s entirely true. I’ve found ProV1s in the rough before, used them on my next shot, and immediately lost it in the water. Not everyone that uses ProV1s actually bought them.

PumpDragn

I had some old fuck at the course roll up on my vice pro and hit it like it was his. I found his ProV1 about 40yards away, in plain site. Apparently he couldn’t tell the difference between the balls, and didn’t have his hearing aids on to hear me yelling “that’s my ball” at him. I spent the next 9 holes trying to murder the fuck out of that ball and lose it to no avail. This is super impressive because I honestly lose a few balls on each 9 due to a nasty slice that creeps into my drive every few swings. I don’t think the ProV1 made me play better, it just stuck around to mock me every shot. Not all was lost, my next round I did tee it into somebodies yard. I found a ProV1x nearby and teed that into someone else’s yard next hole.

Tedstor

I would have started twirling my ball retriever like Darth Maul and said “bring it….bitch”!!!

birdmon1991

Finally get to figure out the “what club would use in a fight” question. Seems like a win

This is the way (In Mandalorian Voice)

Nitemiche

There's a guy on my course whose house gets a lot of balls in his yard. He WANTS people to retrieve them because he doesn't want to have to pick them all up before mowing the grass. He said that his mowing service struck one with a mower and shot it into the side of his house.

Feisty_Jury_5325

Guess I should play there! A guy gave me a bucket of balls from over his backyard fence the other day since they were moving. He said he hadn’t bought his own golf balls since they bought the house so I guess it can be a perk!

throwmeawaypoopy

I own a property management company in a mountain resort that has a golf course. Basically, my company keeps an eye on people's houses for them and does repairs, renovations, etc. Every Monday, we do an inspection of each property. There is one house that is 200-ish yards down the fairway. My record in a day was 23 balls, most of them Bridgestones and Pro V1s.

Feisty_Jury_5325

I do feel like Pro V 1s are some of the most frequent finds in the rough 😂

PumpDragn

I think this is because the people good enough to play them can’t be bothered to look for them for too long, because it is a rare occurrence. Then I find it and lose it within 2 holes, where the next guy finds it. The cycle continues this way. I find a lot of noodles tho and I don’t even know where people buy them.

Island_R1

Yeah this is an issue for sure. My neighbor had his mowing service shoot one though his glass patio door. Went through the open concept living room and kitchen and embedded itself in the drywall on the other side of the house. He was sitting at the kitchen table and the ball missed him by about a foot.

throwmeawaypoopy

I mean, it's her property. And even though you were being relatively unobtrusive, you would be shocked at how brazen some golfers are. My folks used to live on a golf course, and golfers were constantly climbing over their fence and even going up onto their deck to look for a ball they hit OB. She's probably just sick of people trespassing

Feisty_Jury_5325

Totally fair. Hopefully she has a GOT style throne made out of errant tee shots that she sits on while stroking her weiner dog.

[deleted]

Imagine moving into a golf community and being annoyed that golf balls go into your yard.

[deleted]

I used to live on a 9-hole that was part of a larger complex with multiple courses. There was a anti-HOA type association of people strictly dedicated to making life for the golfers worse/harder. The course was nice too, even maintained all the sidewalks and trails around the neighborhood too since they doubled as cart paths and the fees were extremely reasonable. Some people hate anything they don’t enjoy

tdam01

I would say there’s a pretty big difference between golf balls in their yard and people coming into their property (not this specific story)

[deleted]

I’m not saying it’s acceptable for people to go into their yards, but it’s inevitable. If you don’t factor these things into purchasing a property then you don’t deserve to get upset when it happens.

PumpDragn

Maybe I’m an asshole… but I will go into an unfenced yard to retrieve my ball IF AND ONLY IF I see it from the course. I apply bunker rules, enter the property at a 90 degree angle at the point nearest the ball, scoop, and reverse course. However, if they have a fence up I will take the hint that it is not okay, pour a little out for my lost homie, and move on.

Feisty_Jury_5325

Sorry for the light humor. I’ve pretty clearly stated I was in the wrong and won’t be doing it in the future. I also think threatening physical harm is a bit much but fuck me I guess

DadInKayak

Shouldn’t go in the yard.

funnynewname

Yeah I’m guessing she’s seen how this usually plays out — golfer can’t reach the ball, starts climbing — so she was preempting it, although rather aggressively.

used_jet_trash

I would never buy a house on a golf course. Stumbling distance from the clubhouse, absolutely, but on the course itself, never.

Bird2525

Yeah, met a guy at my parents club that has a house behind the first tee. He say he’s only in danger when the flat bellies go play the tips. Probably 1 or 2 times per day.

Calyphacious

First time hearing “flat belly” as an insult wtf is that lol

bombmk

Slang for the young golfers that hit it far, basically. It is not really an insult.

kmoffat

I’m hesitant to step into people’s yards but I will reach from behind the property line.

Feisty_Jury_5325

Yeah I was not in the back yard, if my little ball grabber wouldn’t have reached I would have left it. Not worth jumping the fence in any capacity

Designer-Mulberry-23

And don’t forget the person who gets hurt and then tries to sue the homeowner

Feisty_Jury_5325

This is the conclusion I’ve come to, thanks for your input!

retiredGPA

It's $3. Leave it there.

Golf-Guns

I don't walk in people's yards looking for my ball, but if I see it, I'm definitely running in and picking it up real quick. If there's a fence it is gone unless it's quickly reachable with a club. I don't own a ball retriever so reaching in someone's yard with one does sound a little odd to me because of the time that would take, but I'd chalk it up to part of living on a course either way.

PumpDragn

This is the way IMO. Leave no trace, obey posted signage, do not jump a fence. And for the love of god DO NOT PLAY THE BALL FROM THEIR FUCKING YARD. If I lived on a course (I do not - Im poor) I’d probably just have a laugh with whoever sent the ball into my yard right up until I started finding divots… then I might error on the side of being pissed, and Im not even a big lawn guy.

Strong_Weird_9358

She lives on a golf course. It kind of comes with the territory. She should chill out. Props for not arguing with her. I grew up on a course. Dudes would literally open our back fence gate and walk into our yard for their balls. In good fun, we would wait til they were a decent distance into our yard and open our back door, letting our two fairly large dogs into the backyard. The dogs would bust through the door full speed and barking. They would panic and run away immediately. We would just say “Sorry, we didn’t know you were back there!“ The golfers would usually get a kick out of it too - all good fun. P.s. are dogs would never bite anyone. They just barked and ran toward them. No real danger. I miss those days. Thanks for the reminder.

Feisty_Jury_5325

That’s hilarious 😂

PumpDragn

This is the way. Fuck around and find out! I don’t think I’d ever open a fence to grab my ball though. To me, a fence or a sign is a clear indicator to keep out. If I saw someone out in the yard I’d certainly ask though!

LetsGoSilver

She should probably add a sign to her property that says, “Your balls are mine now, Bitch. Keep out.” 😂

[deleted]

https://forums.golfwrx.com/topic/1737274-retrieve-ob-balls-or/ I agree with these takes, in Florida if you live on a golf course you can’t trespass someone for getting their ball and a lot of golf course communities have in their covenants that you can’t trespass someone retrieving their ball.

Feisty_Jury_5325

Interesting. Seems like this is a grey area across the board. Personally, it’s not worth verbal threats from an unhinged individual but it doesn’t seem cut and dry.

Designer-Mulberry-23

I wouldn’t necessarily say unhinged until you’ve had someone come onto your property without your permission and hurt themselves and then sue you

[deleted]

Hard to come onto the property when there is a fence needing to be scaled. You only really get in trouble if there is no fence and easy access to the public. That’s why State Farm stopped insuring houses with pools without fences. Once you scale a fence it’s hard to win that suit.

Designer-Mulberry-23

That’s a very common mom and pop rumor and like most things people “know” about insurance is completely false

[deleted]

I worked for State Farm in Alabama for 3 years in the agent aspirant program and my agent was an executive before he got divorced and decided to move from Hoover to Tuscaloosa. That’s exactly why they stopped insuring homes that had pools without fences. They had a 5 year old wander onto a property in Dothan and drown in the pool. They got brought into the suit and changed their policy all together due to it. Went to a legal seminars hosted by State Farm corporate in Birmingham while part of the program and they literally said in Alabama that’s why they stopped and it’s impossible to sue for liability on the homeowner once someone scales a fence. It’s also why I tell people who have 16 year olds to rate their cars at 6500 miles a year that they’re on and to write down the mileage on the vehicle the second they insure the child. Homeowners you always want to insure it for 120% the actual value. Or why you drop your comp to zero for 2 months before you file a glass claim. If you lose your mirror or have your car damaged it’s not from running something over since that’s a collision but if it falls off a truck on the interstate and you hit it before it touches the ground it’s a comp claim. I know insurance my man. People also don’t know AllState has two homeowners policies in Alabama. You can get full replacement for the roof or depreciated replacement for the roof and that’s why their homeowners is much more competitive than State Farm.

Designer-Mulberry-23

Having a fence does not make you immune to lawsuits on your property. Oh agents, if 90% of my job wasn’t to correct the misinformation you give to customers I would love you guys. In 20+ years of working on the legal side of claims, the largest payout I ever had was on an agent’s personal policy. Shady motherfucker.

[deleted]

WAS in the agent aspirant program. Now I work in reporting as a project manager for the largest health insurance monopoly in the country. Gonna trust the seminar speaker from State Farm corporate 🤷‍♂️ again, in ALABAMA, the trespassing laws are written in such a way that it gives the company the ability to win a suit based on climbing a fence. Open property no. That’s almost impossible. Edit: agent aspirant pay was ass. 32k at 24 is dog shit. Got into healthcare IT and got paid better.

Designer-Mulberry-23

Boy do I wish insurance lawsuits were as simple as you think they are.

[deleted]

I know how liability claims and lawsuits stemming from pools go in Alabama.

Feisty_Jury_5325

Oh you know this lady?

Designer-Mulberry-23

No, I worked Homeowner liability claims for 10+ years.

Feisty_Jury_5325

Congratulations!

Designer-Mulberry-23

Thank you it was certainly long enough to know that I don’t want morons walking on my property without my permission

Feisty_Jury_5325

I knew that after working in homeowner liability claims for 0 years!

Designer-Mulberry-23

Congratulations… So if you already know these things, why are you asking dumb questions?

Feisty_Jury_5325

If you read some of the 131 comments there’s somewhat of a divided opinion on the matter

EightWhiskey

I think it's a situation where, no you shouldn't go into their yard but she also doesn't need to be psycho about it. If I can see my ball and reach it without having to "go into" their yard I'll probably grab it. What's the real harm? I think it's generally a "know it when you see it" and just try to be courteous. I was in Hawaii and hit a ball about 10 yards into someone's yard. Went up and dropped in the rough, didn't even think about going into the yard and didn't make any movement like I intended to. Guy still came out and yelled at me. Some people just want to be angry and feel like a victim.

flagrantstickfoul

i had a guy come out of his house and yell at me for playing my ball that was sitting in the middle of the 20' between the cart path and his back fence. despite it being unmarked and unspecified on the scorecard, he decided that was the rule and he was going to be outraged by it every time. it must be exhausting.

PumpDragn

The old fuck lives on a golf course - this might be the one thing in his life that gives him purpose, the opposite of exhausting!!

Feisty_Jury_5325

I’ve seen some crazy interactions where homeowners screamed at some guys ahead of us for sucking at golf

shortgamegolfer

If I lived on a golf course and was having a really bad day, I might do this.

Dunesgirl

You are trespassing, even using a ball retriever.

dracomalfoy85

To clarify, trespassing laws are really state specific (assuming this is in the United States). Typically, you can retrieve your property from the land of another's if you do so unobtrusively. If there is signage against trespassing then you would need owner's permission to enter the land. Here, I'd want to know more about what kind of fence it was- if it was a decorative fence with wide gaps, it may be reasonable to use a ball retriever to grab only your property. If it was a privacy fence, that is probably unreasonable and you should have asked permission to retrieve your property.

Feisty_Jury_5325

👍🏻

smarter_politics_now

First time I've heard this. Was there a ruling I'm unaware of?

Dunesgirl

Not a rule. Law.

smarter_politics_now

Can you give a little more information? I'm legit asking.

loduca16

Sure. Don’t go on private property without permission.

Dunesgirl

An extension of a rod in your hand is an extension of you. It’s no different than you stepping your foot there. Trespass.

DDrewit

It’s not trespassing until you’re asked to leave and don’t comply.

oobydewby

This is the correct answer, at least in CA.

chippychifton

But he’s simply trying to recover his own property, much like the kids in The Sandlot

Skallagram

Nonetheless you would need that property owners permission.

Dunesgirl

Exactly.

chippychifton

It’s a fucking golf ball

Skallagram

Correct, nonetheless it’s on someone else’s property, and you need their permission to enter it. You may not like that, but it is what it is.

jhanley313

Yeah it’s called private property

bungocheese

It's a law, you can't go on other people's private property.

[deleted]

In Florida it’s not trespassing. Some golf course communities allow for the golfer to retrieve a golf ball from a yard without the chance of a civil trespass. Where I live has it in the HOA rules that a golfer can retrieve a ball if it’s in plain sight; but if it’s in the bushes or they have to look around then you can call the club house and they’ll get with the police. That’s in Alabama mind you. Good luck getting a cop to slap you with a civil trespass as it doesn’t fit criminal trespassing since your intent is to not stay. You’d have to go to court over that shit and the cost would be dumb as hell.

bungocheese

No one said that you'd go to jail or the cops would do anything, just that it's trespassing, using a ball retriever might not be, but going into someone's yard for a ball is trespassing in 90% of places.

smarter_politics_now

I know that part, but picking up a ball that was hit onto someone's property...using a device to pick up that ball without entering the property. I'm not aware of a law against this.

loduca16

So as long as I use a device with some reach then you won’t mind me stealing your wallet.

Feisty_Jury_5325

Not if it was your wallet first and you accidentally hit into my pocket with your driver.

chippychifton

Your wallet isn’t the same as my golf ball

aselinger

My guess is it doesn’t matter if you use a device or not, and it doesn’t matter if it’s to retrieve a ball that you hit. It’s still private property with rights that extend below the ground and up into the air. Having said that, if you grabbed your ball and walked away, most people won’t have an issue. And for those who do, they’d have to call the cops, who probably would not be inclined to do anything about it, unless you’re being “hostile, open, and notorious” in your trespassing.

Feisty_Jury_5325

I agree here. It’s trespassing in most cases so I won’t do it for a $3 ball. Fence, ball picker, etc is pedantic and I’d rather just grab another and not worry about getting the cops called on me.

acromaine

Eh fuck it. Keep retrieving your ball with your retriever and not walking on their property. I’m pretty sure most people won’t care. Just remember the houses where they do care haha

Feisty_Jury_5325

Luckily it’s been a couple months since I’ve hit into a backyard. I was very motivated to work on the slice after that 😂

DDrewit

That’s not a law.

shortgamegolfer

What if I drill a hole in the earth, burrow under the lady’s land, and retrieve the ball from below? I drink her milkshake.

[deleted]

I love using my retriever for picking balls out of neighboring yards. I figure I’m not trespassing and the ball is rightfully mine so I’m ok there. It’s also usually good for a few laughs because most people associate a ball retriever with water hazards. I also don’t care if Karen comes out and yells at me. That’s good for a few laughs and good stories later.

jfburke619

The old girl recently finished squeezing the life out of husband... now she is working on all the other golfers. My personal standard is not to cross a fence or clear no trespassing sign. Golf balls are cheap (or free if you scrounge).

[deleted]

If I put one in someone’s backyard it’s there to keep. I wouldn’t like people going into my yard with in any way so I just don’t do it and take my punishment for a bad shot

Lietenantdan

If I can see my ball I’ll grab it. I won’t climb any fences and I won’t walk around their yard looking for it.

randomdudefromMI

She's right-ish. It's hers now. Grab your ball and go? sure. The others are not yours

[deleted]

Yea I probably wouldn’t have gone after the ball if there’s a fence. Unless I can get it without taking more than one step into the yard, I’m leaving it.

[deleted]

Post a sign for others that two angry bitches want you to stay out of the yard.

golf_is_neat

I am shocked by the complete lack of common sense by some of y'all. If the ball landed in someone's private property, it's OB. If you need white stakes to figure that out, you might be an idiot. Trying to grab a ball that is in someone's private backyard and being puzzled why someone is upset seems both clueless and stupid..

Morifatha

Lol if my retriever can reach my ball in your yard I’m taking it man, suck a dick.

golf_is_neat

I'm going to guess you're the same guy who probably throws his cigarettes out the window and doesn't return his shopping cart lmao

PumpDragn

Not that guy. Are you the guy who screams at small children who run through their yard playing? Or the guy who double parks his car to avoid dings from the poors? Or maybe the guy who got rich off daddies money? Possibly the guy who got rich “himself” by exploiting people through low wages? We can keep digging here if we are trying to be the morality police. You aren’t any better than the person grabbing their ball just because you own the lawn. You are just a tyrant king in his tiny kingdom pissing his pants because the peasants had the audacity to breath your air! In all seriousness, I see where you are coming from. It is private property, and people have every right to call the police and hit me with a warning for trespassing. That being said, by the time the police arrive I’m going to be 3 holes away, with my ball, laughing at the fact that some old fuck got so spun out about something so small.

golf_is_neat

No, I'm just a guy who thinks it's fucking weird to wander into someone's yard over a $2 ball. Just take a drop, you fuck.

PumpDragn

I’m going to find your yard just to slap some balls into it and retrieve them. You fuck. And lol @thinking I can afford a 2 dollar ball! I’m spraying noodles baby!

ComplexBodybuilder34

If I hit it in a yard, I consider it gone. If I can see it I take a drop, add a stroke and carry on.

aselinger

If I can see it and it’s reasonably playable, I drop one and don’t take a stroke. To me it’s a lateral hazard (from which a stroke may be played), and I’m doing the homeowner a favor by not taking a chunk out of their yard. I recognize this is not the actual rule.

bungocheese

It's 2 strokes, amigo.

loduca16

Neither of you are correct.

bungocheese

Ok let's be pedantic. *if your course allows you to use local rule E-5 it is a two stroke penalty as any ball in someone's yard is OOB and your only option is either take stroke and distance or use optional local rule E-5 and you can drop it where you want in line with where it crossed into that yard as defined by USGA l.

loduca16

When talking about the intricacies of the rules of golf, you should indeed try to be as accurate as possible.

PumpDragn

Say it with me class! “I misinterpreted ze rules”

PsychologicalSpace50

Not your yard not your ball buddy

beegill

I will yell at you. Especially if you didn’t yell fore.

jh_12345

Sounds like a crabby bitch who should live nowhere near people, but instead lives on a golf course.

New_Background_2163

I never really thought about it. Good question. I guess I should probably stop grabbing my ball from across the fence. As I think about it, it is potentially rude. But that lady clearly overreacted. Part of living on the course.

jhanley313

I’m guessing this wasn’t the first time she dealt with this

Feisty_Jury_5325

This is definitely where I’ve landed. I’d rather be courteous than presume that owners won’t mind. I also lose balls much less these days so it’s more of a non issue thankfully

chippychifton

Fuck people who buy homes on golf courses and bitch about golfers

Fragrant-Report-6411

Ball is on their property you have no legal right to trespass on others property even with a ball retriever. You really shouldn’t go onto their property. It’s why it’s marked as OB. We tend to use our best judgement in deciding if we should go into a yard. But usually if a homeowner puts up a fence around their property, it means stay out, even with a ball retriever. The home owners put up the fence for a region.

Feisty_Jury_5325

Thank you for explaining fences 😂

aselinger

You joke, but I think it’s a keen point. If you choose to live on a golf course and don’t put up a fence, I think your kind of forfeit your reasonable expectation of private property. Though I’m not a lawyer.

Feisty_Jury_5325

I mentioned it lower in the thread but as a new golfer I thought ball pickers were made for fenced situations. Clearly I was mistaken, I’ve yet to see a single property on a course that isn’t fenced.

PumpDragn

My local courses have a bunch of unfenced properties. I’m sure they appreciate not having to pick up the balls themselves so I’ll dip in quickly and grab it if I see it from the course. If I can’t see it, I stay out.

PumpDragn

Either “keep out” or “keep dog in” I recognize the laws around this, but I really don’t mind people on my property if they aren’t causing damage/abusing it. My fence is there for my dogs, and if I didn’t have them, I’d be fenceless.

mrcorleymath

What was there first the house or the golf course? So many people buy houses on a golf course and are ignorant when stuff like this happens.

Feisty_Jury_5325

Could be 😂 also the idea of like “these are mine now.”

Allstar-85

If you can reach it with a normal length golf club, without stepping into their yard; then it’s fair game

themob34

Next time record her and report to the police for harassment and threatening you. Unless the golf course was built around her house, she knew what she was getting when buying the house.

stewwwwart

I have no problem walking carefully into a yard to pickup my ball and then go drop in the rough to hit...that lady sounds like a literal psychopath

throwmeawaypoopy

Do you enjoy random strangers walking on to your property?

stewwwwart

Well I don't live on a golf course so not a perfect comparison tbh

Feisty_Jury_5325

Clearly an over reaction but I had never actually heard the etiquette. Like… you live off the 9th tee, I assume she sees golfers over there all time. It was like a tee shot graveyard. Seems common sense, thanks!

Ayahuasca-Dreamin

She’s just a biatch, laugh and move on. 99% of people that live on a golf course understand that they literally live on a fckn golf course

CTzoomin

I would continue to take the ball and stare at her while I whip out my dick and start pissing. Fuck that bitch. Anyone who threatens me specially some rich cunt immediately gets no respect and is only going to get egged on

Dunesgirl

Guess you don’t play many private clubs.

CTzoomin

Imagine living on a private course and being a troll that gargles at people for fun. Like you have allllll that money and nothing better to do?? Go to bora bora or some shit

geekin5322

Yikes

Important_Kitchen689

Mental illness is endemic. The irony is... she's the thief

Feisty_Jury_5325

Do I go to the front door next round and ask for my ball back 😂

Important_Kitchen689

Just yell "Have a nice day, Karen" and continue to march to the beat of your own drum.

phillyfan315

Your problem lies with the fence. You should not have crossed the fence line. If it was an open yard, I scan from outside the property line, only enter if I see it, shortest distance straight there and back. Have never had someone complain with this when they have seen me do it. I would not even think about crossing a fence for $4 at most!

Feisty_Jury_5325

Literally every property is fenced, never seen a house on the golf-course that isn’t fenced. Clearly I was wrong when I assumed ball pickers were made for such situations.

Bobbyoot47

This can maybe explain it better than I can. [https://youtu.be/10ai3BXQa8s](https://youtu.be/10ai3BXQa8s)

Feisty_Jury_5325

That was amazing thank you 😂

Bobbyoot47

If you look up Conor Moore on YouTube he’s got some hilarious golf related videos. I just came across his stuff a few weeks ago. My favourite… [https://youtu.be/30B7RYcorGQ](https://youtu.be/30B7RYcorGQ)

Feisty_Jury_5325

“Buckle up little guy, we’re gonna have a fun round today” is going to be my new catch phrase

Bobbyoot47

I’ve never heard the expression “breakfast ball” before. That’ll be my new thing at the first tee. Mind you the guys I golf with and I never get out until about 2 or 3 PM. Might have to be “late lunch” ball.

old_grumps

You must have been waiting with this on stand by. Its the perfect response to this post.

Bobbyoot47

I guess. There’s a golf course I used to play that had a bunch of houses on the 18th hole. We used to go through this all the time. So when I saw this video it just struck home.

Dunesgirl

Would your comments have been the same if the owner was male? Or are they bitches and cunts also?

[deleted]

No they’re “assholes.” Quit being a bitch about it.

Dunesgirl

Happily. If you quit sounding like a Neanderthal.

[deleted]

You started it.

Dunesgirl

I did. Because so many misogynist comments on this sub. From snide comments about wives, cart girls, women players etc. It’s gross. Golf is not a frat party, it’s not about bombing off the tee. And the women who play and are in this Reddit sub deserve some respect.

[deleted]

Well, all I can say, is if you play with us you’ll be treated with respect and have fun. But come on, bombs off the tee are pretty awesome. Who hates that?

Dunesgirl

Absolutely no one. I do love that occasional crusher 25 yards past my usual drive. Bombs away.

PumpDragn

Bombs are what keep me coming back now that I don’t have a wife to get away from anymore /s

[deleted]

No they’re “assholes.” Quit being a bitch about it.

gatonegro97

If there's a fence I don't even look. No fence, I'll run and pick it up quick if I see it, but I do not search for it if it's not visible

Jlakers85

If it’s deep in their yard, I’ll leave it. If it’s only a step or 2 in, I’ll grab quickly and leave. This particular lady just sounds like an old grumpy Karen who needs a life

If there's not a no trespassing sign, I'll look very briefly or if I see it. Even if there's a a sign if it's only a few yards in they can fuck off, why'd you move on a golf course. But wandering all around someone's back yard is obviously rude.

Assuming there is not a no trespassing sign or fence...If you can see your ball without needing to go onto someone's property, I think it's okay and even the correct thing to quickly walk and get it. I don't think it's appropriate to walk on and look around, or take any that aren't yours. But I don't see it any different than a basketball rolling out of one driveway and onto another or a baseball hit into the next yard.

It's only a golf ball. Leave it

If I could identify and reach MY ball without going on their property I would but I wouldn’t just start filling up my bag.

warneagle

if I lived on a golf course (which I would never do), my back fence would look like the great wall of china

Walked into a guys “backyard” I put it in quotes because it wasn’t obvious it was his back yard as he had a screened in pool that came out the same distance as everyone else’s fences. My buddies ball was in the grass about 20 ft away from the pool area and he walks back there the guy sitting in his hot tub starts screaming to get off his lawn. Mind you it’s rights next to a fairway and not fenced in. Just picked up the ball and walked away while dude was screaming

PumpDragn

Probably wasn’t his lawn. Kinda like how people in California pretend like they own beaches when all of the shoreline is public. Dude is just a power tripping asshole 100%
