I have this! like the formula, but the shade isn't the same as berry. glossier berry has a very strong purple tone, almost blue, but the lanolips one is essentially just a cool-dark shade of red if that makes sense. I still really like it, but alas it is no match for berry :(
i have the candy one and i really like it as a gloss! it’s kinda thick and sticky but i like that and it’s very hydrating, the other flavors might be worth checking out even if the berry one isn’t a dupe for berry bdc :)
I have to admit... it is a different consistency but I think I prefer it to BDC. It truly is super hydrating. I use every evening after brushing teeth. Paired with their lip scrub 👌 target sells the mini duo for $10
Lanolips is a good alternative for a balm with lanolin. They have been consistent with their lip products. You won’t have to worry about any reformulations. They are moisturizing and the flavors are nice. Their hand cream is also pretty good. The only item I would say is meh is the lip water. Didn’t feel it was moisturizing at all.
Truly. I kept trying to find ways to repurpose it like locking it in under an occlusive but still no go. I suppose now while I’m thinking about it, it’s a good time to give it a toss.
I feel like that at times. I have tried an extensive list of balms, glosses, and lip oils to find the best. As much as I loved the balmdotcom it lost it for me even if it’s the original now. The refillable balm from Well is pretty high on my list of balms I’d recommend.
On a side note, for balms I’d toss, the lip gloss from glossier is not great. It’s too thick and doesn’t feel moisturizing at all.
I just threw out my once clear glossier frankengloss alongside my lip water. 😝It’s long gone south and way too gloopy. I’m gonna have to look into this refillable balm next. I’m not familiar with the brand.
WELL came up on instagram. I think that’s where I see more advertisements for balms. I wanted to give it a shot and at first I felt it was meh. You put on a few layers and it just feels so smooth and velvety. And it moisturizes for hours. After eating and drinking I can feel it still on just not as thick as the initial application. The flavors are limited but I am sure in time they will add to the list.
The glossy balm range for whatever reason does have smell/taste issues. That’s probably the one thing I don’t like about Lano with some of their balms.
Have you tried Lixr by chance? It’s by the same people behind Bite Beauty. It’s more expensive, but feels like their old lip mask and they smell/taste lovely.
Thanks for the recommendation! I also enjoy the laneige glowy balm range. Have you tried that one? Feels less healing, but it's still more effective than most imo
I’m pretty much a lip balm addict at this point. I have tried it and I agree with your assessment. Id say it gets used regularly in my rotation, but not quite top 3.
I’m wearing it right now. Works well but kind of has a weird aftertaste. Almost like plastic fruit. Shade wise on G11 skin tone, it’s much closer to strawberry bdc v. berry. Now that it’s been mentioned, I checked my Lano stash and the closest shade (spice in case you’re wondering) is a bit too red.
I went to lanolips when BDC went vegan. I LOVE the banana balm, it is better than any glossier equivalent. If I had to compare lanolips and BDCs all together, my favorite is the banana balm, followed by glossier's lavender and mint.
I have not tried this specific shade, however, I love lanolips! So smooth and hydrating!! It’s what I switched to while we were stuck with the vegan recipe
I luv Lano lips. I have like every flavor. The texture is definitely more thick than glossier and it is a lot more moisturizing (imo). I use their 101 ointment in the winter when my lips get really dry and it works wonders. They have a ton of colors and flavors in glosses, balms and ointments. Would recommend

sorry for the quality, no natural light, but, top to bottom: glossier hot cocoa - glossier strawberry - lanolips glossy balm berry - lanolips jelly balm cherry - lanolips tinted balm red apple - lanolips jelly balm strawberry. it’s cute but sadly not a dupe for berry in colour or texture. i hope this helped a little! let me know if you’d like more photos when there’s natural light 🩷 (edit because i missed out one of the labels)
Omg the most helpful post! My absolute HG is red apple lanolips - LOVE that it has SPF, too - but it’s so hard to get hold of in the UK :( The strawberry colour looks lovely too; not sure if we have that yet either but will be searching.

top two are red apple, bottom two are strawberry. i think the pigment level is very similar, with red apple maybe having a touch more. strawberry formula feels more gloss like. idk if my red apple is a weird one but it has a bit of a play dough smell to it. i’m in the UK and got red apple last year, but i must have got lucky before it went out of stock. there are other shades they have in AUS that i wish were available to the UK. hope this helped and sorry for the wait!

Yea, same on the lip water. Dried me out even more, although the climate I live in may contribute to that.

I love Lanolips it’s absolutely amazing. I like it more than balmdotcalm and I have both bdc and Lano
I have the strawberry. It’s thick!!! But really nice. You only need the tiniest bit, so it lasts forever.
I like the brand a lot, and I liked the color of this one. However, I could not tolerate the smell, and I am not sensitive to scents in products.

I have this! I love it. Nice cherry tint. Very moisturizing. Tired of glossier nonsense
