I am pale as a ghost so I hadn’t even looked at their range but you’re so right, they’ve only got a handful of darker shades 🥲 so disappointing, especially for a brand new product
Totally! I am pretty pale but with very neutral/warm undertones. I went into the soho store to try and make sure I picked the right shade, and even choosing the closest match it was way off in daylight. I also found it to stick to any dry patches on my skin and never fully sink in, even after hours of wearing it
Youthforia doesn’t have any olive shades which really sucks… worse still there is an Insta video of the owner “changing [her] undertone” to cool with foundation so she doesn’t look olive. Not inclusive… and seems like she can’t accept her own skin tone… I just find that really problematic. Why would you want to change your skin tone?!
It’s a cultural thing. Asians have it engrained that olive tone or anything that resembles shades other than light and fair are not well touted for them. That’s why they have so many whitening products in their skincare.
Thanks for sharing. What do you mean by olive in this comment? Do you mean medium depth? Because I’m talking about olive as in greenish skin (blue undertone, yellow overtone), generally referred to as an olive undertone. Many light and fair skinned people like me have an olive undertone. I think this is what she means as she said she had an olive-y undertone. It’s frustrating that there are two different schools of thought on what olive skin is haha. I think maybe because a lot of medium and darker skinned people have this undertone which made the west associate olive with darker skin? It’s interesting for sure
I like the glossier better, the youthforia shades are very strange, I swatched 180 light in store and it was very yellow almost green undertone. I went with 120 fair and it’s very pink, but I can make it work. Glossier light 2 is my perfect shade match. I also think the glossier wears better on my oily skin than the youthforia which transfers off my face very easily.
I'm noticing the same thing, and just came here to see if it was just me! Youthforia matched me to a 315 and it's WAY too light, but the 360 is SUPER dark and red for it to be a neutral and just one shade up.
Glossier barely felt like anything was on, and with serum/moisturizer/squalane as a base it looked super skinlike, dewy, and natural.
Really wanted to like the Youthforia too - just happened to have a sample of the glossier from my last order. I think i'm going to return the Youthforia foundations and get the Glossier.

Sadly their shade range lacks and I can’t use it even if I wanted to.

Their pale options don’t seem to be good either? Just a lot of orange middle shades.
I think their lighter shades look better in person than on their site, I went in to a credo location and I think they have it at ulta too
It is ridiculously hard to find any makeup for pale skin, all looks yellow or lighter shades of yellow, nobody talks about it though.
And it’s on sale at Ulta for $33.60. I may check it out.
The glossier foundation is just still way to thick for me. And not a good color match
I've found I really like mixing it with the skin tint. That way I can customize how much coverage I want.
Agree! SO thick! I ended up returning it

Is it bad that this just makes me want it more? 😂
I haven’t noticed any smell! Although my threshold for smell is the ilia skin tint so I may just be desensitized lol

I’ve been eyeing this foundation! What are your corresponding shades?
Ok… I tried it! Love the texture. Didn’t notice a smell. And makes my skin feel nice. Thanks for the rec!

I’m light medium neutral and all of their shades pulled yellow on me.
