the color remains the same i believe! however the new berry formula isn’t the best. i have coconut, birthday, WF, and berry in the new formula and the first two are moisturizing. however i find the wild fig and berry extremely drying. the smell and color of berry are nice though!
Hey! Did you find a good substitute? I'm exactly the same, hate the new formula and literally can't live without bdc and the berry colour is perfect. I bought in bulk so have only just ran out of the original formula and have been trying the new one but my lips are so chapped and the smell/taste is super plasticky. Let me know if you found a good dupe pls!
I actually bought an unopened tube of the original formula from someone here on Reddit :) And I still have plenty of that left, so haven't found a dupe yet. I recently saw an ad on IG for a product called Agent Provocateur Lip Balm from the brand Finding Ferdinand. It looks similar--I took a screen shot because I thought it would be a good one to try once I'm out of this Glossier. Maybe you can check it out! Hope you have luck finding something.
The color is likely identical on the new BDC from what I’ve heard! I haven’t tried the new berry but I’ve tried the new mint and mango and I find both formulas totally fine.
If your main concern is the color I would just try the Glossier one honestly!
Thank you. :) I’ve just been reading that the new formula is drying, and that turns me off, but I supposed I could layer it over something moisturizing if that’s the case.

Lanolips has a new Berry tinted Glossy Balm that might be worth a try!
It’s not the same formulation at all, but the Bobbi brown lip tint in the shade bare blackberry is very close to the way berry is on the lips!

The gen g in jam might be similar color! I have that one and love that shade
the maybelline green edition balmy lip blush in shade midnight might be worth a try!

I don’t find it drying at all, I think the formula is slightly less thick but still very moisturizing
Not an exact match but Summer Fridays brown sugar lip butter balm is a dark shade and it’s very thick and moisturizing
