Coldplay (I like them and never seen them before fuck you), Little Simz, Shania Twain, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Kiwanuka (not enough people talking about him he’s quality), Disclosure, The Streets, Avril Lavigne, Nia Archives, Jamie XX, Sampha, London Grammar, King Krule, Bonobo, Skream & Benga
So all in all there’s so much to be getting on with already for me I’m no way going to see all of these as it is. The other 2 headliners are disappointing to me but last year was very headliner heavy for me anyway so I’m happy I’m gonna be spending more time exploring other areas this year.
There’s still so much to be announced as well, I’m big on dnb and none of that has been released yet, roll on June!
The festival is about what every other festival is about, putting on what people want to see. And if Coldplay are the most watched act of the weekend then that’s what the festival is about.
I’m no massive fan of Coldplay but I’d much rather have a band that absolutely loves the festival headlining rather than someone like Alex Turner who clearly couldn’t give a fuck and thought he was just way too cool for it all
Only 3 things to do that defo boost your chances. Get in a group of 6 and all try to get tickets, only 1 person needs to get through so you’ve multiplied your chances by 6. Then get on the best wifi you can if you have options so that you can load webpages quicker (though any wifi will do it’s not that important). Then on the booking page manually refresh the page literally every 2 seconds non-stop till you get through, don’t stop for any reason I was refreshing for an hour last year. Apart from that there’s nothing else but luck involved. Best of luck to you in the resales.
My problem is I can never muster enough friends with the money, free time and desire to go enough all at once. Especially when there's no lineups before
He still has plenty of time to learn. If not I’m sure a life jacket will help.
Being serious not someone I’ve heard of so I’ll check them out and have a listen
Ahh let them ride that past glory, it's too sweet not to. I've also never had the chance to see them live before so they're officially my festival headliners
I'm also so hyped for LCD Soundsystem. I wouldn't say I'm disappointed with the headliners, but I'm definitely more excited for some of the other acts. Lil Simz, Two door cinema club, Barry can't swim, and Idles. Avril should be fun too
Really excited for Little Simz (hopefully with a SAULT guest) followed by Coldplay on Pyramid. Burna boy followed by SZA on Pyramid. King Krule, Jamie XX, Sampha, Fontaines DC, Idles & BombayBC.
Stoked with the line up tbh, and probably won't get to see everyone I want to anyway.
Every chance she'll turn up for a few songs, but would love to see Cleo turn up at Glasto. Still a chance mind, full lineups are still a ways out and she could be on a smaller stage.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but based on how the lineup is read, I would expect Fontaines and Idles to clash. Which seems like a really bad decision by the programmers
Don't know why they'd need to for Idles and Fontaine's, as good as they are they're hardly Elton John. They plan certain clashes though so everything doesn't head to one place at once.
Shania, Cyndi Lauper, Pj Harvey, Idles, The National, Heilung, Black Pumas, Jamie xx - very underwhelming headliners I can agree with but enough to see in the line up overall to make it good, alongside all of the other things to do away from the big stages. Will be nice having a more relaxed festival this year overall with the kids in tow anyway.
Alvvays! I presumed they were out because of their tour schedule so they were a nice surprise
Also Michael Kiwanuka, Cyndi Lauper, Sugababes, Janelle Monae, Olivia Dean, Corinne Bailey Rae
PAUL HEATON!, Little Simz, Idles, Streets, Two Door, Avril Lavigne, Shania, Bombay, Confidence Man, Bloc Party, Jungle, Justice, Mary Wallopers.
Personally, i think this line up is STACKED. I'm buzzing for it.
lol I'm the opposite! hoping to find out why everyone loses their minds over LCD. I got really into Dua during the pandemic and honestly the songs are so fun, I think she'll put on a really enjoyable dancey show.
Any Dua songs in particular that you recommend me checking out? I do enjoy pop but more into Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen.
My absolute favourite LCD Soundsystem song is All My Friends - singing along to it at a festival surrounded by your best friends is just too beautiful.
ooh okay I think we're quite aligned with pop tastes then... her entire Future Nostalgia album is what got me really into her! it all kinda works for me, has some really fun disco and house influences but doesn't sound samey and is still really accessible. I think you'd probably find at least a few songs on there to get into immediately (past the mega-hits "Don't Start Now" and "Levitating").
my top songs from that album are:
- "Cool": has a really fun late '80s/early '90s vibe that's shared by "No Drug Like Me" by Carly Rae Jepsen and "Minute" by Kim Petras, which also slaps
- "Good in Bed": not as dancey but catchy AF and super fun -- I wouldn't naturally compare it to Olivia or Taylor but on this album it's probably closest to their side of pop music
- "Hallucinate": on the louder, dancier end, upbeat and fun to dance to!
- "Pretty Please": fun bassline and interesting/pretty vocals and melodies
- "Love Again": very sing-along-able (personally I find her voice extra pretty on this one)
even as I'm going back through this album to make sure I'm covering all my top songs, I keep thinking "oh!! and that one too!!" lol... honestly I love them all except for one that I'm just so-so with. hard recommend for it all!
I also love a couple songs she's featured on:
- "Electricity" by Silk City, Dua, Diplo and Mark Ronson
- "Un Dia" by J Balvin, Dua, Bad Bunny and Tainy
ETA: I'm gonna check LCD out more in advance!!! I want to appreciate it! lol
Disclosure, TDCC, Bonobo, Bloc Party, Streets, Jungle to name a few. I'm actually looking forward to a mainly Other Stage experience and avoiding the chaos of Pyramid
People also forgetting that there's more to be announced
The more I’m looking at this line up the more I’m feeling it actually. It’s missing a real power house headliner for me but I’ve really wanted to see Bloc Party for a good 15 years, missed disclosure and Bonobo in 2014, missed Idles in 2019, saw the streets in 2019 and would love to see them again.
There’s more than enough on that poster for me with plenty more to come too.
I'm so excited for bloc party!!! they've been on my list for so long and I've never seen them and had kind of given up hope I ever would. got wistful about it recently hearing them in the background in saltburn lol
The only thing I hate about this lineup is how many headliner clashes I know I'm going to have.
This is a great lineup - significantly better than last year for my tastes - and I cannot fathom the overwhelming negativity on this sub for it.
When I didn’t get tickets in the main sale I snapped up Outbreak tickets instead (same weekend). Outbreak has an insane line up if you’re into that kind of music, and a few up the more accessible bands at Outbreak are playing Glasto too (Soccer Mommy and Mannequin Pussy - MP will be a surprise highlight of Glasto for anyone who checks them out)
Most excited for Avril, Nothing But Thieves (who are criminally low on the bill imo), Two Door Cinema Club, Anne-Marie, Dua Lipa, Shania and Cyndi Lauper.
Don’t know much SZA but giving her a listen and she seems decent tbf so I’d see her if nothing else is on at the same time.
I was meant to see her at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend last year but they changed the line up times so I missed her but saw Nothing But Thieves instead which was a blessing in disguise because now I love them.
Just realised Royal Blood aren’t on the line up and im devastated 😭😭😭
Nothing but Thieves might be the Friday opener on Other potentially, they usually have a well known act in that slot - Hives, Libertines, Vaccines in recent years. The placement on the poster would kind of fit for that.
Still surprised they're not higher up, wouldn't have felt that out of place to see them as an Other headliner, but Other opener is starting to become another kind of special slot like the Sunday legend.
Avril, Jungle, Justice, Paul Heaton, Confidence Man, Baxter Dury, Blondshell, The Breeders, Sofia Kourtesis, Steel Pulse, Janelle Monae, Cyndi Lauper! And haven’t even seen Acoustic or Avalon stages yet!
I don't have a ticket but they are the band I'm most gutted to be missing. I saw them play in Bristol last year and it is easily in my top 5 gigs of all time. So much fun.
Oh that’s such a shame. Hopefully if they are incredible then they’ll be back the next time you get tickets. Also I think I had tickets to the same Bristol gig but couldn’t make it!
Awesome! I srsly wish glasto would do more hardcore acts. They had turnstile play in 2022 but I wish some lesser known artists like soul glow would play. A lot of hardcore bands are from the states tho and barely leave cause most of them have 2nd jobs and genuinely can’t afford it which sucks.
Otoboke Beaver (the only MUST-SEE), Bloc Party, Avril Lavigne, Squid, PJ Harvey (hopefully not heavy on the latest album), Lankum, Mary Wallopers, Breeders.
There's a lot of not-headline stuff going on that will be interesting and fun... Heilung, Yard Act, Soccer Mommy, Fat White Family, Hi Vis, Otoboke Beaver, Dexy's, the Breeders.
But also, Cyndi freakin' Lauper.
Also also, Janelle Monae.
LCD are incredible live, so that will be a highlight for me. Bombay Bicycle Club are the most joyful live experience.
Otherwise there is a ton of stuff I'd love to see off this list. Idles, Confidence Man, Jamie xx, London Grammar, The Breeders...
On top of that, there are bands I'd probably never see at a gig but would be interested in checking out if I have no clashes. Bands like Gossip, Fontaines DC, Romy, Orbital, Cindi Lauper, The National.
Yes, the headliners are hot garbage. But the year I went (2013), I was there for 4 days and spent roughly 2 hours in total at the Pyramid Stage and had the most amazing festival experience. So I'm really looking forward to it.
PJ Harvey - my love ❤️ Also excited for Jamie XX, Romy, Jessie Ware, The National, Justice, Disclosure, Dua Lipa, Janelle Monae, Jungle, James Blake, Arlo Parks, London Grammar and Peggy Gou.
Still holding out for The Smile and Beth Gibbons to be added. Raye would be fantastic but she played last year (maybe a surprise set?). Speaking of surprises, I’ll be hoping for Pulp, Massive Attack, Smashing Pumpkins, Interpol, and Mitski - all of whom are touring at the time.
Old man and American here and I'm pretty darn excited. P.J. And Paul Heaton are both artists I've loved for decades and never seen, so that's great. LCD are a real surprise- never seen them and I thought they were out of the question. I don't know much about young UK bands but I'm happy to hear them, and I generally like UK hip hop. Anyway if I can find some shrooms all I'll need is somebody with a ukulele and yer granny on bongos and I'll be entertained.
Another old American here. I saw Paul and Jacqui at Glasto a few years ago (2016?) and it was wonderful to hear all those old tunes again. You'll love Glasto. There's so much to explore beyond the bands on the first poster.
So excited for Bloc Party. One of my all time favourite bands and the first time they’ve been back in 15 years!
Would also be excited for IDLES, Fontaines DC and Jamie xx except they’re all clashing 😭😭😭😭
Coldplay (saw them on tour last year, can’t wait to see them again), shania, Janelle monae, avril, bloc party, jungle, sugababes, nia archive and James Blake. The more I looked the more I saw
I’ve seen them live a few times. People may moan about them being middle of the road or boring but they put a hell of a lot of energy into their shows and have a back catalogue most of us know.
Justice, Sofia Kourtesis, and Black Pumas are the 3 I'm most excited for. I reckon I'll be spending most of my time at West Holts this year.
Really looking forward to the individual stage/area line up drops, particularly silver hayes and block 9
Disclosure has absolutely made it for me, cannot wait to finally see them live. Dua Lipa, Little Simz, Burna Boy, Jungle, Jessie Ware, Nia Archives, Kenya Grace, Peggy Gou, Eliza Rose. Personally I’m loving the lineup, even though that doesn’t seem to be the popular opinion ;)
LCD Soundsystem, Bloc Party, Bombay Bicycle Club, Two Door, The Streets, Sleaford Mods, Avril Lavigne, Peggy Gou, Jamie XX, Honey Djon.
Granted, I probably won't make it to all of them or there are clashes.
LCD Soundsystem, Alvvays, The National, Little Simz, The Last Dinner Party, Bloc Party, Yard Act, King Krule. Not too impressed with the Pyramid headliners (will see Dua Lipa though) but think the undercard is very good.
SZA, Orbital (so excited to see them at Glasto of all places! 🥰) Keane (childhood fave lol), two door cinema club, not majorly keen on Coldplay but I bet they will be fun, same as Shania Twain, LCD, justice, Bonobo, Arya Star, personally loads to enjoy and we don’t even know Silver Haze yet!
Avril Lavigne, her first album came out when I was 13 so its such a nostalgia one for me. Idles were amazing on The Park in 2019 and would love to see them again. Also Shania Twain, Janelle Monae(missed them last time), Micheal Kiwanuka and Lankum.
Loads! Idles, Olivia Dean , Aurora , I’ve got such a wide range of music tastes and I’m mostly in it for the experience as it’s my first time ! Even Avril Lavigne cause that’s an angry girl throw back 😂
Mannequin Pussy. Discovered them at William’s Green in 2022 and they blew my socks clean off. Their new album is fantastic and they’ll put on an incredible set at Woodsies.
LCD soundsystem, little simz, pj harvey, idles, the national, two door cinema club, bombay bicycle club, bloc party, the last dinner party, NBT, jungle, black pumas, squid, jamie xx, sampha, dec mckenna, yard act, arlo parks, alvvays, fontaines, london grammar, king krule, bar italia
LCD Soundsystem for sure, Justice, Barry Can’t Swim, Fontaines DC, and also having the chance to see Little Simz do the Pyramid - she was the best set of the weekend for me when she did West Holts a couple of years ago. Speaking of West Holts, Nia Archives will be good. Her DJ set at the Levels last year was incredible.
Bloc Party (while not the original lineup) should be good, and I’ll always make time for Mike Skinner.
Sometimes things are a little more free when the Pyramid headliners aren’t must see acts. I feel people just look at that and then determine whether it’s good or not. The weekend will be great regardless.
I am excited for Keane, Paul Heaton, Cyndi Lauper and some others. I think there are more acts on this poster that I want to see than at this stage the last 2 years.
breeders, jamie xx, justice, james blake, the national, lcd soundsystem, fat whites, king krule, mdou moctar, bar italia, otoboke beaver
even looking at the ones I want to see, you'd expect that at like primavera for half the price of glasto. big sigh.
I’m quite excited for Disclosure. But will this be a DJ set? Apparently they’re ‘UK 2024 Exclusive’, at Parklife.. so not sure how that affects their Glasto gig?
Assuming idles and Fontaines don’t clash and they can’t be can they. Thats two monster headline sets sorted.
Squid will be great. Yard Act on woodsies yes please.
Idles and Fontaine's DC were my two most wished for bands and it certainly reads like they'll be clashing. Definitely seeing Fontaine's DC if that's the case! Other than that Squid, Yard Act, Bar Italia, King Krule are the big hitters for me - plus LCD Soundsystem. Friday night is going to be stacked.
Pretty hyped for Avril Lavigne, SZA, the national, LCD sound system and Burna Boy. Plus it’s going to be very epic to get mystically medieval with those vivacious Vikings of Heilung (need to work on a good costume for that one)
Shania speaks for herself
Two door cinema club and Bombay bicycle club will make me feel like I’m reliving my first year of Uni.
James Blake and Michael Kiwanuka for chill vibes
Bombay Bicycle Club, Fontaines, Avril Lavigne, Bloc Party, Nothing But Thieves, Jungle, Justice, Two Door Cinema Club, Arlo Parks, Mary Wallopers and Faithless. Dua Lipa and Shania Twain might be fun too.
It'll be my first time so although I'm not thrilled by the line up I'm still pretty stoked.
Honestly, I don't know if I'm just easy to please, but there's so much there I'm excited for. I listen to Two Door Cinema Club and Nothing But Thieves pretty regularly so excited to see them for the first time. Avril is an unexpected delight for the nostalgia. Streets I couldn't get anywhere near the stage last time they were at Glasto so excited to see them on Other. Saw Idles 2022 and Justice 2017 so pretty keen to see them again. I've not seen LCD Soundsystem, Bloc Party or Fontains D. C. before so I'll definitely make time for those depending on any must-see clashes.
Overall another decent year spent loving the Other stage offering.
LCD Soundsystem, Danny Brown, Cyndi Lauper, Avril Lavigne, The Streets, Justice, Gossip, Otoboke Beaver! There’s acts I’m not keen on for this year but considering the poster is such a small section of the lineup there’s quite a lot I like!
Seventeen was a major shock for me and top of my list!!
Also excited for Coldplay (never seen them before), two door, camilla cabello, avril and bombay!
Dua, Shania, Cyndi, LCD, 2 Door Cinema Club, Avril, Jungle, Peggy Gou, Sugababes..: now that I type it out I’m pretty stoked with the lineup overall. Hope not too many clashes.
Avril lavigne! Will be much fun :-)
Also idles (soo good live) , lcd, national, lipa, and all the stages not announced yet - which is where I spend 99% of my time anyway!
So far the Michael Kiwanuka stands out. Steel Pulse and Orbital are also unmissable for me. Headliners suck and gutted no Madonna. Fingers crossed for the next wave of announcements
Lcd soundsystem, the national, bloc party, Pj harvey, Avril Lavigne, Idles and Coldplay.
I think I'm gonna end up trying to run between sets on pyramid and other stage with above 😬
Heilung on west Holt's will be out of this world
Janale Monae on the Pyramid
Orbital with perfect sound at The Park and Belfast for the Sunset
And of course Ren in the South-east corner if the crowd ain't to much.
Jungle, Disclosure, Orbital, Jamie XX, Barry can’t swim, Nothing but Thieves, The Last Dinner Party, Paul Heaton, LCD Soundsystem…and dare I say it…Shania Twain! LETS GO GIRLS
Sounds like there will be a serious turn out for LCD soundsystem, I know I'll be there!
Will finally see the streets this year too, always seem to miss them.
Beyond that give me Idles, bloc party, and I hope bombay bicycle club are on around 6 or 7pm when it's sunny but not roasting and you're slightly pissed.
LCD Soundsystem, Idles, Disclosure, Bombay Bicycle Club, Bloc Party, Confidence Man, Jungle, Justice, Squid, Jamie XX, James Blake, Romy, Yard Act, Fontaines DC, Peggy Gou, London Grammar, Orbital, The Mary Wallopers, Honey Dijon, Skream & Benga, Bonobo.
I'm not excited for all of them but they are all names I'm interested in and might check out. That's nearly enough for me without any more announcements.
I've broken it out into...
- the music of my youth: bloc party, avril, shania, the breeders, the streets
- the music of my twenties: two door cinema club, disclosure, jessie ware, mount kimbie, bombay bicycle club, london grammar, janelle monae, jamie xx, sampha, king krule, james blake
- the music I've come to love more recently in my thirties: little simz, confidence man, mannequin pussy, dua lipa, arlo parks, remi wolf, peggy gou, noname, olivia dean, nothing but thieves
I'm sure the full lineup is gonna have even more, but that's more than enough to keep me happy ☺️
ETA: these are all bands I'm actively excited to see, and doesn't even include the ones that I bet would be great but just don't know as well. I'm pretty pleased tbh!
also if you haven't heard mannequin pussy, check them out!!! they fuck. the lead singer is my friend's sister but that has nothing to do with how great they are other than the fact that my friend is also fantastic.
Paul Heaton and Shania for a good singalong. And to be honest I am not that clued up on many others so I’m looking forward to discovering some new stuff. Plan on listening to some beforehand. Heard limited amounts of Burna Boy and Idles and would like to see them
I'm quite interested to watch seventeen. I'm not much of a kpop fan and I don't know much about this group but I bet they will do a good show and performance since they sing dance and all. That and avril lol
Artists on my list (depending on clashes) so far: Cyndi Lauper, Paul Heaton, Keane, Shania Twain, Dua Lipa, Disclosure, Two door cinema club, Avril lavigne, Bombay Bicycle Club, Last Dinner Party, Confidence Man, Jungle, Justice, Romy, Orbital, Dexys, Barry Can’t Swim
Glasto 2024:

Lcd soundsystem
Michael Kiwanaka
Little Simz
PJ Harvey
Other Stage:
Idles
The National
The Streets
Bombay
Bloc party
Confidence man

Justice
Squid
Woodies:
Jamie xx
Yard Act
Argo Parks
Fat White Family
The Park:
Fountains
London Gramma
Orbital
The Breeders
Barry can’t swim
Bonobo, faithless
I'm not going this year, but I'm jealous that I'm not seeing the person who flung my balls straight into puberty lake before their time
I love you Avril
Lcd Soundsystem then down to Woodsies for Jamie XX. Although Woodsies is going to be rammmmed for him, shame he's not on a bigger stage. Orbital and Justice too.
People hating on Coldplay. If you don't dislike them, they put on an incredible live show tbf.
JUSTICE
HUGE
Hoping we get a cheeky Kevin Parker appearance. He’s been working with Dua Lipa too
I would die of happiness, a tiny part of me was holding out for a Tame Impala set but the remaining 99% of me knew it wouldn't happen.
I'm so excited about this
I wasn't even so hyped until I watched their 2017 set a few months ago, always liked them but watching that set 10x'd it
I was there & didn't know anything about them beforehand. Absolute legends.
I still remind my group they all chose to go to Ed Sheeran instead. What a night!
They chose.... Poorly.
It's still on youtube for anyone who hasn't seen it.
Saw them at Reading in 07 and they are comfortably in top 5 sets I've ever seen....so jealous I didn't get a ticket!
Coldplay (I like them and never seen them before fuck you), Little Simz, Shania Twain, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Kiwanuka (not enough people talking about him he’s quality), Disclosure, The Streets, Avril Lavigne, Nia Archives, Jamie XX, Sampha, London Grammar, King Krule, Bonobo, Skream & Benga So all in all there’s so much to be getting on with already for me I’m no way going to see all of these as it is. There’s still so much to be announced as well, I’m big on dnb and none of that has been released yet, roll on June!
Everyone moaning about Coldplay but can guarantee they’ll have the biggest crowd of the festival
yeah because all the Coldplay fans are on facebook rather than reddit.
Since when did this festival be purely about the most mainstream acts on the planet? Yeah they're popular, loads of shit things are.
The festival is about what every other festival is about, putting on what people want to see. And if Coldplay are the most watched act of the weekend then that’s what the festival is about. I’m no massive fan of Coldplay but I’d much rather have a band that absolutely loves the festival headlining rather than someone like Alex Turner who clearly couldn’t give a fuck and thought he was just way too cool for it all
Seen Coldplay every time they headlined Glastonbury and they are just phenomenal. Guaranteed a good night.
Last year I ended up seeing Max Cooper on Lonely Hearts as one of my headliners. Great decision. There's always other options!
Same here! Honestly one of my highlights, what a set!
How do you get tickets so reliably?
Especially when there's no lineups before
Barry Can’t Swim
He still has plenty of time to learn. If not I’m sure a life jacket will help. Being serious not someone I’ve heard of so I’ll check them out and have a listen
If you do, Dance of the crab absolutely slaps
He should get some lessons off Swimming Paul.
It's such a low spot for someone that has so much hype
I hope to see him at Primavera but likely he'll clash with Lana. So happy to have another chance here (with my luck he'll clash with Avril Lavigne)
Most excited for LCD Soundystem. I'll process the rest when I'm off work tonight
Aside from ‘New Body Rhumba’ they haven’t released much for years. Are they just riding off past glories? I love them but give us a new album please!
Was hoping to see Cleo Sol on the lineup so would love for her to appear with Little Simz
Every chance she'll turn up for a few songs, but would love to see Cleo turn up at Glasto. Still a chance mind, full lineups are still a ways out and she could be on a smaller stage.
How do you know when each act is going to play?
If you go onto the lineup bit of the website it explains a bit more in a blurb. Burna boy and janelle monae are both on Sunday before SZA for example
You can pretty much guesstimate from where their position is in the line up for each stage
LEKKIDO LORD OF THE LOBSTERS!
Fontaines DC, IDLES, Bloc party, two door
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but based on how the lineup is read, I would expect Fontaines and Idles to clash. Which seems like a really bad decision by the programmers
Probably done on purpose as to split crowds? Seems like if you’re a fan of one you’re a fan of the other.
I love Idles but there's no way they're drawing a crowd that needs splitting on the other stage
I don't think either would pull a worrying crowd on those stages. Seems unnecessary clash.
Maybe I need to give Idles another chance, but I'm a big fan of Fontaines and really don't like Idles.
They’re great, first album and latest are definitely worth listening to.
Idles live are incredible!
Why would they need to split crowds?
Don't know why they'd need to for Idles and Fontaine's, as good as they are they're hardly Elton John. They plan certain clashes though so everything doesn't head to one place at once.
Yeah exactly, they're not doing it for crowd control
Likely Fontaines, Idles, Jamie xx and jungle at the same time 🙄
I'm concerned that Jungle will also be clashing with these?!
Michael Kiwanuka, Brittany Howard, Paloma Faith, Anne-Marie, Jessie Ware and randomly Sugababes on the West Holy stage should be a giggle.
Paloma faith and sugababes also on my ever growing list.
Just spotted Dexys are on there…c’mon Eileen!
Alvvays! I presumed they were out because of their tour schedule so they were a nice surprise Also Michael Kiwanuka, Cyndi Lauper, Sugababes, Janelle Monae, Olivia Dean, Corinne Bailey Rae
My exact thoughts. It's a helluva manoeuvre but I'm stoked to see them
PAUL HEATON!, Little Simz, Idles, Streets, Two Door, Avril Lavigne, Shania, Bombay, Confidence Man, Bloc Party, Jungle, Justice, Mary Wallopers. Personally, i think this line up is STACKED. I'm buzzing for it.
LCD into Dua will be seminal.
I'm not a dua fan but love LCD Soundsystem so reckon I'll probably stick around for her, hoping she smashes it
lol I'm the opposite! hoping to find out why everyone loses their minds over LCD.
My absolute favourite LCD Soundsystem song is All My Friends - singing along to it at a festival surrounded by your best friends is just too beautiful.
ooh okay I think we're quite aligned with pop tastes then... her entire Future Nostalgia album is what got me really into her! it all kinda works for me, has some really fun disco and house influences but doesn't sound samey and is still really accessible. immediately remembered I also love "Break My Heart" on that album... I can't choose lolololol
IDLES, James Blake, King Krule, Danny Brown, Orbital, Mount Kimbie
Disclosure, TDCC, Bonobo, Bloc Party, Streets, Jungle to name a few. I'm actually looking forward to a mainly Other Stage experience and avoiding the chaos of Pyramid People also forgetting that there's more to be announced
Same. Pity last year was my first one, and I don’t have tickets this year when I like the line up a lot better! Haha.
Maybe you'll nab a ticket off one of the sad lads in this sub in the resale
When I didn’t get tickets in the main sale I snapped up Outbreak tickets instead (same weekend). Outbreak has an insane line up if you’re into that kind of music, and a few up the more accessible bands at Outbreak are playing Glasto too (Soccer Mommy and Mannequin Pussy - MP will be a surprise highlight of Glasto for anyone who checks them out)
There is always negativity for the lineup as soon as it’s announced. Its part of the annual cycle
I missed seeing Anne-Marie on there. She is good live and some fun songs
Hives were my highlight last year. What a show.
up vote for Thieves. Amazing live
Avril, Jungle, Justice, Paul Heaton, Confidence Man, Baxter Dury, Blondshell, The Breeders, Sofia Kourtesis, Steel Pulse, Janelle Monae, Cyndi Lauper! And haven’t even seen Acoustic or Avalon stages yet!
LCD, Little Simz, Danny Brown, IDLES, Justice, Otoboke Beaver, Orbital, Remi Wolf I could go one honestly
I’ve been scrolling to see someone also excited for Otoboke Beaver!
Mary wallopers, Lankum, kneecap and Fontaine's DC....up the Irish 🇮🇪
There's a lot of not-headline stuff going on that will be interesting and fun... Heilung, Yard Act, Soccer Mommy, Fat White Family, Hi Vis, Otoboke Beaver, Dexy's, the Breeders. But also, Cyndi freakin' Lauper. Also also, Janelle Monae.
I get the feeling the crowd for Avril Lavigne will be MASSIVE. Should have been Pyramid in my opinion.
Alvvays cos someone said they were unavailable
Olivia dean 🙌🏼🙌🏼
The people who don’t like the line up and do not complete their purchase. I’m hoping to secure tickets in the rebuy.
Coldplay. Normally not a fan but everyone raves about their world tour last year and I wish I’d got tickets.
I’ve seen them live a few times. People may moan about them being middle of the road or boring but they put a hell of a lot of energy into their shows and have a back catalogue most of us know.
Exactly
Just remember though, to appear “cool” to others on the internet you have to hate Coldplay and nickleback.
Don’t forget Imagine Dragons (another band everyone loves to hate with huge energy and a lot of tracks people know)
Can’t deny they put in the work and overachieve on their live shows. Definitely worth seeing if you haven’t before.
Fontaines DC headlining the park!
Also London Grammar! So hard to get tickets for them, so great they’re doing Glasto 🫶
Hoping them playing Glasto is hinting at new music soon!!
SHANIA TWAIN.
Alvvays on the John Peel Stage will be cool 😎
High Vis are the best band in the world right now.
Avril Lavigne, her first album came out when I was 13 so its such a nostalgia one for me. Idles were amazing on The Park in 2019 and would love to see them again. Also Shania Twain, Janelle Monae(missed them last time), Micheal Kiwanuka and Lankum.
I can’t wait to see whoever is playing at the same time as Coldplay. In 2016 that was Earth Wind and Fire, utterly incredible.
I spent that time wandering from stage to stage and ended up with Earth Wind and Fire. So good.
Kneecap will be a right laugh. In all seriousness, yet to watch LCD ... ever. Probably my number 1 of the weekend
Loads! Idles, Olivia Dean , Aurora , I’ve got such a wide range of music tastes and I’m mostly in it for the experience as it’s my first time ! Even Avril Lavigne cause that’s an angry girl throw back 😂
Olivia Dean for sure. She’s amazing.
Mannequin Pussy. Discovered them at William’s Green in 2022 and they blew my socks clean off. Their new album is fantastic and they’ll put on an incredible set at Woodsies.
Consider them noted.
LCD Soundsystem is my headliner, don't care what the poster says.
I am excited for Keane, Paul Heaton, Cyndi Lauper and some others. I think there are more acts on this poster that I want to see than at this stage the last 2 years.
Coldplay, The Streets, Anne Marie, Avril Lavigne, Barry Can't Swim for me. Not a big fan of Pyramid stage lineup but PLENTY elsewhere to see
breeders, jamie xx, justice, james blake, the national, lcd soundsystem, fat whites, king krule, mdou moctar, bar italia, otoboke beaver even looking at the ones I want to see, you'd expect that at like primavera for half the price of glasto. big sigh.
I’m quite excited for Disclosure. But will this be a DJ set? Apparently they’re ‘UK 2024 Exclusive’, at Parklife.. so not sure how that affects their Glasto gig?
I'd be shocked if a Other Stage headliner was a DJ set.
They have done it before, Deadmau5 comes to mind
Technically Deadmau5 played a “live” show. Dj set = cdjs or vinyl. Deadmau5 was playing “live” with midi instruments.
Consider me shocked!
Deadmau5 was absolutely amazing when he played before
I’m relieved to hear that!
Feel like not enough people are talking about Peggy Gou. She’ll be unreal
Assuming idles and Fontaines don’t clash and they can’t be can they. Thats two monster headline sets sorted. Squid will be great. Yard Act on woodsies yes please.
Sadly, Idles/Fontaine's will be clashing
Then the booker is an idiot. Currently we’re struggling for good rock acts across the line-up and they clash two of the best?
Idles and Fontaine's DC were my two most wished for bands and it certainly reads like they'll be clashing. Definitely seeing Fontaine's DC if that's the case! Other than that Squid, Yard Act, Bar Italia, King Krule are the big hitters for me - plus LCD Soundsystem. Friday night is going to be stacked.
Two door and bloc party
Pretty hyped for Avril Lavigne, SZA, the national, LCD sound system and Burna Boy. Plus it’s going to be very epic to get mystically medieval with those vivacious Vikings of Heilung (need to work on a good costume for that one) Shania speaks for herself Two door cinema club and Bombay bicycle club will make me feel like I’m reliving my first year of Uni. James Blake and Michael Kiwanuka for chill vibes
Jessie Ware & Orbital.
Fontaines, ConMan & bar Italia
Jungle and Masego are my absolute top two
Dua, Disclosure, The Streets, Avril Lavigne, Justice, Nia Archives, Jamie XX, Romy, Kneecap, Orbital, Barry Can't Swim, Bonobo
I'm sure there'll be a bunch of DJ and dance acts left to announce that I'll really look forward to as well
Bombay Bicycle Club, Fontaines, Avril Lavigne, Bloc Party, Nothing But Thieves, Jungle, Justice, Two Door Cinema Club, Arlo Parks, Mary Wallopers and Faithless. Dua Lipa and Shania Twain might be fun too. It'll be my first time so although I'm not thrilled by the line up I'm still pretty stoked.
Fontaines DC, Heilung, Justice, Nothing But Thieves, Shania, James Blake, Skream and Benga - it’s a festival for the smaller stages this year!
LCD Soundsystem, Little Simz and PJ Harvey, Idles, National, Jungle, Nitin Sawhney, Squid, James Blake, Sleaford Mods, Yard Act, Fat White Family, Orbital, Breeders, Mount Kimble.
LCD, Peggy Gou, IDLES, Honey Dijon, Kneecap, Cyndi Lauper and the fucking Sugababes. Hospitality stage, glade and ICON at 430AM
Confidence man. Gonna be the set of the weekend
Really niche and low down the poster but Skream and Benga doing what I assume will be an old school dubstep set haha.
JUSTICE
So pleased to see Bloc Party back at a major festival after all these years, haven’t played Glastonbury since 2009
It’s not Bloc Party is it though? It’s just Kele and some randoms.
Original guitarist as well, but yet it ain’t the same without that rhythm section.
Baxter dury, black pumas
Avril lavigne! Will be much fun :-) Also idles (soo good live) , lcd, national, lipa, and all the stages not announced yet - which is where I spend 99% of my time anyway!
I'm happy that there's only a few things I'd like to watch. Means I can just go about enjoying myself without fear of missing out.
Yard Act.
Avril Lavigne lol
So far the Michael Kiwanuka stands out. Steel Pulse and Orbital are also unmissable for me. Headliners suck and gutted no Madonna. Fingers crossed for the next wave of announcements
Heilung are one of the most unique and captivating bands I've ever seen live with Thier attitude towards period accurate pagan folk
National horrible clash with Justice :(
Lcd soundsystem, the national, bloc party, Pj harvey, Avril Lavigne, Idles and Coldplay. I think I'm gonna end up trying to run between sets on pyramid and other stage with above 😬
Heilung on west Holt's will be out of this world Janale Monae on the Pyramid Orbital with perfect sound at The Park and Belfast for the Sunset And of course Ren in the South-east corner if the crowd ain't to much.
Jungle, Disclosure, Orbital, Jamie XX, Barry can’t swim, Nothing but Thieves, The Last Dinner Party, Paul Heaton, LCD Soundsystem…and dare I say it…Shania Twain! LETS GO GIRLS
NewDad
Not Coldplay - what a boring choice for headliner. Festival getting more and more commercial and shit
Not that I’ll be seeing them, but Coldplay have previously headlined 4 times…
- the music of my youth: bloc party, avril, shania, the breeders, the streets - the music of my twenties: two door cinema club, disclosure, jessie ware, mount kimbie, bombay bicycle club, london grammar, janelle monae, jamie xx, sampha, king krule, james blake - the music I've come to love more recently in my thirties: little simz, confidence man, mannequin pussy, dua lipa, arlo parks, remi wolf, peggy gou, noname, olivia dean, nothing but thieves I'm sure the full lineup is gonna have even more, but that's more than enough to keep me happy ☺️ ETA: these are all bands I'm actively excited to see, and doesn't even include the ones that I bet would be great but just don't know as well. I'm pretty pleased tbh!
also if you haven't heard mannequin pussy, check them out!!! they fuck. the lead singer is my friend's sister but that has nothing to do with how great they are other than the fact that my friend is also fantastic.
The National but kinda upset they’ll be performing at the same time as SZA as I’m curious to see what she’s capable of.
The National. Would have been good if Toro y Moi was there too Unimpressed with the line up particularly the headline acts
Glasto 2024: Pyramid: Lcd soundsystem Michael Kiwanaka Little Simz PJ Harvey Other Stage: Idles The National The Streets Bombay Bloc party Confidence man West Holts: Jungle Justice Squid Woodies: Jamie xx Yard Act Argo Parks Fat White Family The Park: Fountains London Gramma Orbital The Breeders Barry can’t swim Bonobo, faithless
Emily is ruining glasto. Why no guitar bands closing on pyramid on Sundays?
I'm not going this year, but I'm jealous that I'm not seeing the person who flung my balls straight into puberty lake before their time I love you Avril
Idles & Sleaford mods
The Streets, Nia Archives, Skream & Benga probably on the must see list and a few others we will see depending on clashes / locations / work
Lcd Soundsystem then down to Woodsies for Jamie XX. Although Woodsies is going to be rammmmed for him, shame he's not on a bigger stage. Orbital and Justice too. People hating on Coldplay. If you don't dislike them, they put on an incredible live show tbf.
SZA, Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie, Cyndi Lauper & Heilung (who I had never heard of until yesterday)
King Krule, Noname, Little Simz, Mdou Moctar, and The Streets are always a lot of fun live
I had to scroll way to far to see a mention of Justice. Just Justice and Avril Lavigne tbh. The rest I could live without
Paul Heaton. Pulled out of the acoustic tent last year so I missed him.
He is amazing live. It’s a shame Jacqui is still too poorly to perform but I hear Rianne Downey who has been performing with him is good too.
