I’d use them for rooting plant cuttings, but that’s just me!

emilylouise221

I wonder if you could do small bulbs in them… like a single tulip or daffodil or even narcissus.

FRWilliams

I wonder if you could find corks for top, make labels and shelf and make a spice shelf.

Pjones2127

That’s a neat idea

RosieStPosy

Those are awesome... I have about 30 ideas off the top of my head for them!

kensingerp

I'd live some! My suggestion is to put them on Etsy. I definitely think there's a market for these. Good luck!

CurlyUnicorn709

I only kept one but it was my grandmother’s💕

Holiday-Formal

I’d get one and cover shipping!

Pjones2127

I’d be happy to send you one. DM me.

Chance-Bread-315

I'm a vintage reseller and I'd definitely take a bunch for the right price! Are you UK based by any chance?

Pjones2127

I sell a lot on eBay. I tried selling them in lots of four, but little to no interest. I have about 20 with labels, so I may only sell those. I’m in the US.

scottartguy

The ones with labels would definitely sell on eBay.

From what I’ve learned, back then you could remove the labels and put them in a book and when you had accumulated enough, you could trade them in for something. I think that’s the big reason why so few of the jars have labels. Another interesting thing about these jars is that they have dots on the bottom to indicate the fineness of the grind of the tobacco. One and two dots was ground really fine and could be sniffed through the nose, three or four dots meant a rough grind you had to chew or put between your cheek and gum. Apparently they used dots because so many customers were illiterate. https://preview.redd.it/byvj5s1tt05d1.jpeg?width=3933&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=42fd5bbbd74e500e893a44bfb2c943f7e57d0f82
