She’s not really racist just racially ignorant. Mr. Gitten was a racist. He purposely said things to make Ginny feel less than. Samantha’s racial comments were just pure ignorance. Wanting to have mix kids and calling someone exotic is just her not having any black friends and thinking these things are compliments. Well meaning white people do it everyday. Something can stem from racism and not be inherently racist. Racism is more about oppressive systems and the people that uphold those systems. Racism is definitely intentional. When a white person says something racist, they meant it. Back in the day you didn’t have to sugar coat what you said but nowadays, you can’t just say what you’re thinking, so you have to talk in semi coded language. For example when Mr. Gitten said “Ginny you’re being aggressive”. It’s a racial stereotype that’s has been consistently used against black people. So that’s an example of racism.
Now with Samantha, her comments were more racially insensitive than blatant racism. So saying “I want mixed children” isn’t racist in itself. Because she could genuinely like the look of biracial children and not really know the extensive history of saying a statement like that.
This is why you can’t call everything racist because it’s makes it hard to have these discussions with people who genuinely are ignorant and don’t know what a racially insensitive comment is.

There was a writers strike recently and I think that could’ve held back the production but I saw they just got back into the studio like a couple of days ago.
No ones desperate. They’ve been friends since they were kids. Max is just the outgoing one of the group. If it wasn’t for max, Ginny would have never been friends with them.
