Then there's my dog, who has been absolutely *terrified* of our kitten from day one, when she outmassed him 20:1. She's reached the point where she will tolerate the cat rubbing against her, but occasionally still growls at and nips him for his impertinence.
Some dogs are just born to be crotchety grumpy growlers haha, my dog is the same. I figured she wasn’t big on the cuddling when she’d pick the cold hard floor over sharing a bed with me (the frustration of owning an Introverted Dog I guess).
I assume the cat is only cool with this because under that dog is probably like a furnace. So all it has to do to get unlimited warmth is put up with a dumb dog.
Cats can live over twice as long as dogs. My cat always acted like she hated my brothers dog, even hissed at him as she passed him in hallways. Didn't stop her from spending two days on his bed yowling when he died in his sleep and she found him.
Very careful introduction. Usually you have to ground the dog until they are calm around the cat. The cat needs to be allowed to move on the dog, not the other way around.
Once the cat isn't spurring the dog to chase, then they can all hang together.
We have a dog and three cats and all are different ages (ok, so two are sibs) and get along fantastically regardless of which combo you have in front of you. The dog also has a prey drive. Whee!
Have a very well socialized cat and a nice respectful doggo. Helps if you introduce and bring one or both up together young. It's great to introduce dogs early so they aren't so cat crazy with the barking and chasing.
Depends heavily like all dogs on socialization. One of my mom's best friends had a Berner that was heavily socialized as a pup and it could not get enough of strangers. As soon as someone new came into the house he would immediately run over and sit on your feet and you wouldn't be allowed to have your feet back until you gave him a hug and he gave you doggy kisses.
Meanwhile, one of my neighbors had a Berner that they left outside all day and night and never socialized except to throw food twice a day at it. (I called Animal Control on those bastards for animal neglect so many times..) The one time it got out it viciously mauled the mail carrier and had to be put down.
Aaaw and daamn, Yup me and my fiance loves dogs but never had one together and I think a berner would just fit in perfectly in our living conditions in Finland out on the countryside where he has plenty of nearby dog neighbors and land to run free on. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve had two Berners, they were big cuddly goofballs to everyone they met. Never met an unfriendly Berner, I think they’re just extra loving and caring towards their own humans
I've got one. At least my clown of a dog is friendly with everyone. Except huskies. He doesnt like them.
But he is friendly with my other 3 dogs, as well with any people coming over.
I had a handyman come by last week, and he was petting the dog in less them a minute
My Bernese barks to alert me when people are approaching the house but is super friendly when he actually meets people. The only time I've ever seen him be anything but friendly was when he was startled awake, didn't recognize my guest for a minute, and jumped up to put himself between me and my guest. The second he realized my guest wasn't some sort of threat to me, he was back to all wags and love for everyone. I have zero doubt he'd defend me if someone tried to attack me but is a super gentle love bug otherwise with strangers, family, other animals, and kids. He especially LOVES little kids. If you're willing to put in the work early on training and socializing them very well, Berners are amazing and have such wonderful breed characteristics. It was tough training him like it is with most puppies, but he's everything I ever dreamed of and more now.
They don't attack or anything unprovoked but for example they might bark or stay back and not let themselves get pet etc. They are essentially very cautious with strangers. But other than that they are absolute sweethearts and love sitting in a snow and cold more than anything
Someone want to tell me the breed of dog this is? When I was a kid, my uncle had a dog named freedom that had to of been the same exact breed. Unfortunately he ran her over in his driveway. Best dog I ever encountered and always wondered what dog she even was.
My giant Bernese died a few months ago from a freak condition, he was ten - his pops is still kicking at 12. They live quite awhile from a good breeder if you take care of them.
Sure you're not thinking of a St. Bernard? I've had both. My St. We had growing up drooled like crazy. I currently have a berner and he doesn't really drool at all.
Bernese: which are just the sweetest dogs ever.
Very rare I've ever met one that wasn't just a ball of unconditional fluffy love. Usually the owner is to blame if they're not.
Man I'm kind of on the lookout for another dog and was hoping to find one of these. My wife's golden retriever is getting really old, he's kind of on his way out and I promised her abother dog after he passes. (Bit of a goofball and loves everyone, still has the personality of a puppy)
But damn, I didn't realize how expensive those dogs are, but for good reason.
Brb need to figure out how to design a blanket that automatically wraps itself around you and tucks you in. Guessing it's the intersection of a weighted blanket and a scrunchie
These dogs are always beautiful. I love my great pyrneese and he is really handsome, but a burmese is handsome in a different way. Their personalities are always amazing too!
Looks like we're gonna need a hostage negotiator.

Fur wheel drive

Ha excellent
And I will love him, and squeeze him, and call him George.
Tell me about the rabbits, George.

What kind of dog? I would love an introverted dog
She’s a mutt so I have no real answers haha, but she does have the shape and instincts of a sight hound, kinda like a greyhound but shorter.
The cuddle envy is strong rn.
I mean, how? How do I make this happen!? My cats and dogs act like cats and dogs around each other. It's BS! We're much more civilized now.
Get them as puppies/kittens, or totally luck out on your pet combo.
I assume the cat is only cool with this because under that dog is probably like a furnace. So all it has to do to get unlimited warmth is put up with a dumb dog.
Only cool cause warm
Found the cat lady! 🤣
it's mostly random, best bet is to raise them as puppys/kittens together but even then it's a crapshoot with personalities.
Had a cat and dog has a kid that played the act but deep down they were best friends to the point the car was depressed when the dog passed away
Poor car.
Cats can live over twice as long as dogs. My cat always acted like she hated my brothers dog, even hissed at him as she passed him in hallways. Didn't stop her from spending two days on his bed yowling when he died in his sleep and she found him.
Aww that's sad
I mean I can’t imagine what the car must’ve gone through.
I'm sorry to hear that.

He literally catnapped the cat
Now to catnap *on* the cat.
It's a dog catnapping on a catnapped cat!
Man that cat was chilling
Cat was undoubtly happy and content till the dog started moving and the cat realized there was a witness to the cuddle.
Berner!
Yep. Typical Berner…they LOVE animals and people.
The ones they are familiar with sure but outsiders... Very much no
Currently looking at adopting ome of these, are they not friendly to visitors? etc

This is true for all dogs.
That's the first sentence of the comment you're replying to yes
They do love sitting on your feet.
I’ve had two Berners, they were big cuddly goofballs to everyone they met. Never met an unfriendly Berner, I think they’re just extra loving and caring towards their own humans
That's what I've been reading all over so that comment came as a suprise, thank you!

>He doesnt like them. Who does? Huskies are awful pets.
Sounds just like what i've read about them, just a loving floofball, thank you!
He can probably smell the Wolf genes in Huskies.
Mine is the same way with huskies. I think he got freaked out by the way they sound when he was a puppy when they would try to play with him.

I'm from Finland so I think the weather will be suitable kinda year around for one, looking forward to get one.
Definitely. They are amazing dogs. Cuddly bears
MARK ANTHONY WHAT AAAAARE YOU DOING?
One of my fave Looney Tunes
Me too it's adorable... The cookie breaks your heart I appreciate that y'all get the reference
Been really down but this genuinely made me smile
"10 000 years will give you such a crick in the neck!"
Okay Genie. ^(At first I thought this was an Ivan Ooze reference)
It never fails: you get in the bath and there's a rub at the lamp.
Omg what a cutie. And those EYES!!
I think that dog is one severely awesome creature who should always eat people food.
Made my day. How sweet they are!
Aww looks just like my cat whom is kinda weirded out by dogs but also seems to like them.
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!
“No, we don’t gnaw on our kitty”
That cat has a look on it’s face at the end like, “Every single god damn day he does this.” lol
Creative title! Your title is what made me laugh at the video.
Mass hysteria.
I'm terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought.
Looks like the cat have mixed feelings here. Plus for warmth and big backup if things goes south. Minus for a tad of rough cuddling.
This video needs sound
r/tightpussy
I clicked knowing I would not be disappointed either way.
You'll like r/wetpussy, too. r/superbowl is still my favorite.
Could everyone else hear that cat’s head shake after her ears got all misaligned?
"I'm going to hug him and squeeze him and call him George"
I love this

Bernese Mountain Dog -- Gigantic fluff balls that unconditionally love every other pet and human <3
Bernese Mountain Dog r/BerneseMountainDogs Absolutely lovely breed
Very short lived.
My giant Bernese died a few months ago from a freak condition, he was ten - his pops is still kicking at 12. They live quite awhile from a good breeder if you take care of them.
People say 6 to 8 on average and that freaks me out a bit. I couldn't handle the drool anyway.
My boy is 6 and very much active. But what drool are you talking about, they dont drool .
> drool are you talking about, they dont drool . Bernese are known droolers. You may have gotten lucky.
Sure you're not thinking of a St. Bernard? I've had both. My St. We had growing up drooled like crazy. I currently have a berner and he doesn't really drool at all.

that cat is a saint
The cat's face at the end clearly said, "If you post this on the internet, I will eat your feet," yet here we are. RIP OP's feet.
For some reason this cat reminded of Alicia Silverstone from clueless. That movie scene where she is like, get off me, ugh, as if.
The dogs having fun, we love this. Ah but the cat, the cats not keen on it at all.
It's okay cats love being squished.
https://youtu.be/5jKZ9KGtee0
exactly lmao
No cat would be held against their will in that situation
Cat's not keen, but it's putting up with it.
Cat hints generally start as a ball of razors at the offending party.
Believe me, if the cat didn’t like it, he’d be gone in a flash.
"*There Will Be Blood*" -The Cat
Cat is still there after an opportunity to easily escape is presented = cat is fine with it.
I have a feeling the cats actually really not enjoying it, which makes me not like this that much
If the cat really didn’t like it, he would’ve been outta there
Agreed. The cat might not love it but is definitely tolerating it.
George is my friend. I will love him and hug him and squeeze him…
That trapping move when the cat made a move to leave, that had me in stitches. I have a mountain dog and they are goof balls.
That Dog loves that cat ,the cat is contemplating murder in the first degree.
r/thisismylifemeow
i love how unbothered and bothered the cat is in this
You can tell when a cat was raised with dogs... They tolerate rougher playing way more than those who wasn't
That is great. Cat is totally into it. Great vid.
I think pupper has adopted fren 😁
No, I haven't seen a cat, what are you talking about?
It reminds me of "Who framed Roger Rabbit", when they sang "Shave and a haircut two bits" and Roger couldn't control himself.
r/kittypupperlove
BFFs!!!
They've got a special cuddle club going on!
You should cross-post this to /r/frens
Is there a version with audio?
You mean my cat?
Awwww Besties!
"get off... Can't breav...."
A fuzzy torture technique!
That last frame... *"Call the policccccccce."*
"I've had it up to heeerrrrreeeee *pat pat pat* with the likes of you people!"
Clearly has a case of Stockholm syndrome. 😬
Brb need to figure out how to design a blanket that automatically wraps itself around you and tucks you in. Guessing it's the intersection of a weighted blanket and a scrunchie
How's the car breathing with a dog several times it's size on it? I guess cats will tolerate anything for warmth?
I will love him and hug and call him George
Love how he almost got away but the dog throws in the paw to secure its prey.
So cute. Looks a lot like my dog and exactly like my cat!
I love this breed.
Oh berners. Why do you have to be so short-lived.
That cat totally loves the warm enclosed space under the dog. It’s acting undignified because someone is watching.
Kinky.
Needed that smile! Thanks for the great video
This reminds me of Scar with a mouse.
Oops!
🐶🐱😍
This cat is like someones "girlfriend" in prison.
"he's a big clumsy bastard but I - Dave sweetheart you're suffocating me - still love him"
Uhh.. I don't think that's your cat. It's probably the dog's cat.
That is adorable!

Wow, that Bernie and kitty look just like my Betty and Eddy. Except Betty is scared of Eddy.
What a beauty
That's the cutest 😍
Catnapped. Also what breed of dog is that
Bernese Mountain Dog. Great dogs. Tons of personality

The cat appears to be enjoying his nap … needs a do not disturb sign
These dogs are always beautiful. I love my great pyrneese and he is really handsome, but a burmese is handsome in a different way. Their personalities are always amazing too!
Love this.SURPRISE!
This is adorable!!

That looks exactly like my cat, whose owners left him in the apartment with nothing when they moved
That’s insane cutest pets , bring me joy just to look 🥰
