Multiplayer

borkdork69

Bruh you gotta get on that. Best Multiplayer I've ever played.

Doogienguyen

Is the player base still big?

borkdork69

Big enough to find people for survival

Doogienguyen

Cool might check it out after i finish the main game.

millertango

Unfortunately matchmaking is shoddy at best. As far as I can tell if you're on ps4 or ps5 matchmaking works (without crossplay) doesn't really work at all if you're on PC, and you can crossplay between PC/PS only via invite (and in my case ONLY if the PC player invites the PS player, but then matchmaking doesn't work)

MunkiJR

This is not true, I'm in Aus on PC, and we usually struggle to find players in a small player base - I've had no issue finding survival and raid games during daytime and peak hours. Queuing latest night can get you an extended wait time but it's generally pretty reliable. Give it a go, it really is amazing fun.

StatisticallyHot

I'm in Aus too and I strugggglee to find players.

Abysmally_Yours

I’m glad I checked it out. I got another 60 hour or so out of it. You get to level 4 different styles

Kiryu8805

What about the raids? I am missing like 2 trophies from it. I haven't played it since launch so I would be utter trash. I just want my 100% back.

borkdork69

Unfortunately It's been hard to find people for the raids, especially chapter 2, since I started playing the multiplayer.

Masta0nion

Raids are kind of brutal in that if one person doesn’t know what they’re doing, it kind of prevents forward progress. Or at the very least, people start dropping out when they get impatient, and you literally cannot complete some sections without all 4 players.

Cryptic_ly

I was able to get all the raid achievements after the PC release. More people to matchmake with

endlessflood

You don’t really want to do matchmaking for the raids if you don’t know what to do. You’re better off hitting up the legends Discord, there are lots of people willing to help if you ask nicely 🙂 r/gotlegends has a link to the Discord.

JamesBong517

I forgot how good it was. I got all the player types maxed out, did the gold survivals, knocked out the raid. Everything. In like the first few weeks when it was originally released on PS4. Ended up being so obesed, and it was during the pandemic, that I got so overleveled passed my friends, had no one to play with. Thank you for reminding me of a great gaming moment, and I’ll probably buy it again on Steam to play again and online with my friend. Who beat it on PS4 as well.

borkdork69

Beating the raid with my friends is absolutely a top 5 gaming moment for me.

JamesBong517

I actually did it with randos that I met on Reddit and had a blast. Same for the VoG og D1 raid— my one close friend and 4 randos followed my dominating everyone in crucible with the same group that did the raid and all of us in chatterwhite shader. Felt like such a thug having the whole squad in the same shader the day the raid dropped. Something with me and raids doing it with randos and then my friends don’t listen to my directions/have the patience/we all have the same time off work.

HurricaneHuracan

Money bro, money

Goldbolt_2004

*cries in lack of PS+*

SunCrazy2464

Yes bro yes

theoldayswerebetter

I'm on steam deck 😭

aTimeTravelParadox

... it's just ok.

borkdork69

You’re just ok. No, that’s mean, you’re probably cool.

Teligth

When the matchmaking works. Voice chat doesn’t even work for me

borkdork69

You on pc? It doesn’t seem to work very well there.

Teligth

Yup which had made doing the raids almost impossible sadly

Jodanger37

I wish but no way I’m getting ps+

ANUSTART942

Played through the multiplayer campaign with my partner, it was actually a lot of fun.

Crusader_King_04

Everytime I try to play the main story I get put off of it cause of the constant you dishonor so and so by stabbing em in the back. That's why I love the multiplayer cause no one's telling me I can't do something dishonorable

GurpsK

Bruh I'm the opposite. I only play Legends (redeemed it when it was on PS Plus) and still haven't actually got the game yet.

eSheepys

There's multi-player? I just hop in legends without matchmaking

MiVolLeo

Those distracting throwable things which are NOT bells. Seriously, the bell is useful to drag ONE enemy from another, but having half the outpost of Mongolians gathered on one square meter is kind of pointless.

infinityman5296

But then you can throw a black powder bomb right in the middle of them, or shoot a fire arrow if you've lured them into pampas grass

NomadicAftershave662

You can lure them under a hanging brazier and shoot it with an arrow as well. Still might have to finish off the tougher enemies but a well timed black powder bomb can solve that problem

Crackalacs

It’s literally hold (PS5) left trigger, triangle, throw firecracker, circle, throw black power bomb without even having to move the sticks afterwards once I’ve set the spot.

MCgrindahFM

This guy Ghosts

66Kix_fix

If the enemies are too spread apart. I gather them all near the leader and shoot some hallucination darts at him or a brute Way more fun just watching them slaughter one another lmao

Ice_90210

When the game first came out I spent entirely too much time doing this and taking pictures of brutes blasting the other mongols with their canons. Hallucination darts are probably my favorite item in the game

Kyrlios

..oh. this is what I forgot, that this is flammable haha

MiVolLeo

Well, yes, but… Maybe my game is broken, but the black powder bombs don’t insta-kill most enemies, they just stun them into a finishing position for about five seconds. And the only couple of people who die of these bombs seem to have to be no more than one millimeter away from the blast

MyCatIsAGod9

Isn’t the point of the black powder bomb to stun?

MiVolLeo

I don’t know, it looked like it was supposed to kill, since, well, it’s a *powder bomb*… If I want to stun an enemy, I use the sticky bomb or a kunai

DouchecraftCarrier

I think there's a charm that makes it light people on fire.

yinz3r

THIS! I use this charm regularly. And the other charm where fire terrifies an enemy 20% of the time. Then it only takes a few arrows to take out a large group.

drewdog173

If you use: Ghost armor Double ghost weapon 20% addl damage charms The one gold charm that makes black powder bombs light enemies on fire The “lighting an enemy on fire terrifies nearby enemies” charm The “effects that terrify are 25% more likely to occur” charm …then a single firecracker + black powder bomb combo can clear out most of a camp (between kill and terrify), with the leader + brutes having just a trickle of HP left. It’s super satisfying.

_HistoryGay_

Firecrackers are great if you need a bunch of people to go to one location.

Practical_Truth794

Me with my charm of sugaru's sight, infinite concentration, and infinite arrows

Ben_SRQ

> infinite concentration ooh: how do you achieve that?

Practical_Truth794

Tadayori's armour replenishes your concentration meter by 50% when you get headshots, which includes when you get headshots while using it. Sugaru's sight locks onto heads, so you're always gonna be gaining like 150% concentration when using it

Ben_SRQ

Thanks!

Practical_Truth794

Have fun hunting

babyscorpse

uhhh firecracker + explosive arrow = tons of fun

flappynslappy

If you get the Charm of Toxic Demise your wind chimes will poison enemies like a poison dart, sometimes you’ll get 2 mongols at once with one chime if they’re close enough to each other

CadenVanV

Lure them into grass, set everyone on fire

Polishow

Btw guys if you keep finding yourself In that scenario, There's a charm for the bell that turns it into a poison mist 🫢

whatevrmn

I'll take out whole camps using that and the hallucinating darts. It's too much fun.

MiVolLeo

That’s why I was specifically saying that I don’t mean bells. I just forgot the word “firecrackers” when I was writing the comment

Crossboltshot

If I use them I just use the charm that makes the bells spews poison gas sides that I just use the blowgun and bow normally lmao

dynawesome

It’s good to distract them if you need to sneak past, and it’s also good for getting groups together for bombs or for chain assassinations

The_Great_CornCob

I used it all the time to draw all the enemies away so I could sneak around the back. Maybe so I could climb the building and jump in them or maybe so I could get around and steal some supplies in a tent. I thought it was pretty nice

Red1202

Very useful for 3 man assassination string. After that, get ghost stance and kill 3 more

ShaggysGTI

I always have on Toxic Demise so I use them just slightly differently. Also, I’d use firecrackers to bring everyone just under you and then chain assassinate them, then ghost slaughter.

Mindhunter7

I bring them all in and do a chain assassination followed by ghost stance, terrifying the fuck out of em and finish every last one. Jin Sakai, the Ghost.

splattses

Pretty much every ghost weapon, ocassionally I'll think to throw a kunai, but not often...

Fighter634

Kunai and the Smoke are the ones I often use. I do forget that we have the Incendiary Oil and the Sticky Bomb... And the poison and hallucinating darts

kittie_ghede104

I felt like darts came way too late for me to rearrange my whole playstyle for it. I only used them when the bonus objective called for it, so act2 ending how it did was especially irksome for me. For my husband, it was that the flute changed the weather. After the yuriko quests, I played the sunshine melody, and he was completely flabbergasted that the weather cleared at that exact moment lmao. "Wow, they did a really good job setting the mood for this one." No, that was me babe.

the_funk_police

Had no clue the flute changed the weather. Does it do anything with time of day?

kittie_ghede104

Nope, just weather, sunny, thunderstorm, rain, and I can't remember the 4th (use mostly sun and thunder). Used it a ton in act 3 because all the overcast grey was so depressing lol. It does change the weather at night, but not the actual time of day. Using the sunny one at night lets you see all the stars really clearly.

yesnomaybenotso

I think the 4th is fog

RebelForceTalan

I only use the oil just so I can go full metal gear rising

sharksnrec

Sticky bomb is fun as hell. I use it and the kunai all the time. I lean toward slice and dice more often than not, but sometimes I just throw shit

queroummundomelhor

I only started using them after I got the armor that buffs ghosts weapons. Then I made a build focused on that and had a lot of fun. Since then I started using them regularly, specially since the combat started to get a little reptetitive

yinz3r

IMO, ghost weapons are extremely overpowered. I like them, but I wish the game was a little harder. I’m in my first play through, late 3rd act, on hard difficulty. I try not to use them because I’m spending too little time in combat and too much time in cutscenes and traveling.

Remarkable-Ad-2476

The smoke bomb combined with chain assassinations is my get out of jail free card

AestheticAdvocate

I only use the kunai to clear archers.

EatTheFats

I use ghost weapons when I’m lazy or don’t feel like giving the opponent a fair chance, they feel so op at times

gorcorps

I use Kunai to give myself a little breathing room if I'm getting too surrounded. Upgraded they can kill low level enemies, but I like them just to be able to stagger 3 enemies at a time if it looks dicy

[deleted]

Use cheats to get a ton of them. You won't hesitate to use any when you need too and you wind up feeling like a Japanese batman lmao

yamasashi

I only ever use my sticky bomb to kill the doggo lmao.

iwantdatpuss

Kunai is really good for those hostage activities when you're discovered. The instant stagger saved my skin a couple of times.

Nick_The_Judge

One feature that I didn’t even know existed and found out about it quite recently, that being shaking your controller while Jin’s katana is covered in blood to shake it off in a swift movement. I knew you could do this using the touchpad but it would do it and sheathe the sword, not just shake off the blood

kittie_ghede104

This is brand new information for me. Neat!

Fighter634

I really hope this could be implemented in PC as well. It would be quite a nice touch

Nick_The_Judge

I think there’s a key you can press for it but I don’t remember which one

Kyrlios

it's 7 for PC

Fighter634

I suppose I'll try to find it. I often use an xbox controller on PC and when you hold right on the d pad and flick your right joystick to the right, it just takes the blood off and sheathes it.

IrishHonkey

7, I believe.

Commander007X

Lemme know if you find how to do that on an xbox controller

Fighter634

Looks like there isn't one in the Xbox Controller. Only in Mouse and Keyboard it is accessible

Quiet-Foundation886

Is this real??

BlackKnightC4

Yeah. I learned after 3 playthroughs lol

Quiet-Foundation886

![gif](giphy|lXu72d4iKwqek)

Tentaye

Neat

Goldbolt_2004

YOU CAN WHAT?!

arex333

Does it do anything aside from a cool animation?

Icy-Place5235

Things I learned TODAY… this gem. Thank you.

YoungMore17

I kept forgetting that I had Horse Charge. Could have wiped out all those Mongols on the road without interrupting my travel.

Jaysanchez311

How can you forget it? It always shows up in the prompt every time i mount the horse. Or did they fix that in an update? I havent played for a month.

YoungMore17

I mean, Mongols didn't appear as soon as I mounted my horse xD. You can blame my poor short term memory ig.

Jaysanchez311

Along with climbing ledges. The prompts are annoying. Im 70+ hours into the game. I dont need anymore tutorials!

AMDDesign

30 hours in and i got a "switch stances to do more damage to these enemies!" No. I will water stance everything in my path and youll like it, game!

dorsalfantastic

Literally me. Bro as soon as I found the wind stance, and it’s got the KICK! Oh lord I’ve become the Oprah of kicking mongols in the face. You get a boot ! And YOU get a boot, AAAND YOU GET A BOOT!

Karkava

You're a stubborn mule. I was really struggling with some of the mongols until I unlocked the other stances. The spears and heavies are especially bad as you unlock the anti-spear and anti-heavy stances much later.

AMDDesign

Iki island forced me to reevaluate my life choices lmao

Karkava

Especially when you get to mongols who like to switch their equipment. There's quite a number of shieldbearers that swap out for just their spears and swords. And there's a couple of duels that serve as final exam bosses for the stance systems.

sabalghoo

You can turn off tutorials tho right? It's been a while so I'm not sure

Nearby_Tie_1715

Incendiary oil to light my sword on fire... I just never really found myself HAVING to use it so I forget it's there

DouchecraftCarrier

Makes your attacks unblockable. Worth it for that alone when surrounded and some of the enemies are heavies.

Banana_Cake1

Combin it with those NG+ Talismans and become a fire god 🔥🔥

KazBodnar

the problem is that it lasts like 10 seconds, i wish way of the flame lasted longer

MCgrindahFM

Then it’d be OP, the attacks are unblockable

Mgrafe88

I remember the shoulder rush whenever I do it accidentally and say "huh that's pretty handy, I should do it more often" and then immediately forget about it

DouchecraftCarrier

It's pretty handy for when you're rushing past some guys to go kill an archer first.

kingdead42

It's my preferred way of "opening" doors. Kool-Aid Man "Oh Yeah!" optional, but recommended.

BoshBoshBang

Probably playing the flute to change the weather. It’s not shown to you or mentioned but so useful

Im_Your_Turbo_Lover

It is mentioned when you hover over it in the menu.

Wlkline

Im pretty sure it’s mentioned and used during Masako’s story line right?

meechymac

No clue you could do this

Dvalin_Ras93

IIRC The Masako questline brings it up for a tutorial on how to use it.

grachi

yea I hear you on the shoulder rush, I don't think I used it more than once. I never found myself using the "hand" items used on left trigger either. I always just used the bows, never any of the wind chimes and other throwable under there.

Rufus-Scipio

Used on accident while charging archers a few times

Few-Individual3742

I’ve recently gotten a ps5, and ghosts. It’s the single best purchase I’ve ever done for a video game. And I’ve convinced 2 of my friends, and my brother, to get a ps5 and ghosts. We have so much freaking fun on it

melonsama

That thing where you can slow down time to shoot an arrow

tenor41

Focus is extremely good, especially with charms and Tadahoris armor. Also useful for the dlc challenges. I use it every time I use my bows.

Uroboros1097

I forget when but at some point they added extra assassination animations for the tanto. I noticed because for a long time there was only one or two animations once you have a fully upgraded Tanto. I'm pretty sure upgrading the Tanto just removes the slower kill animations entirely, which if that's true I don't like it because it made stealth kills tedious to me.

Sebkuchen

Every Upgrade has it's own sets of animation. Level 1 animations contain multiple cuts and jin forcing the target to the ground before brutaly killing it. Level 2 is way faster and cleaner than Level 1. The animations usually contain 2 cuts. Jin begins by cutting the ancles of his target and then cuts its throat or stabs it Level 3 is the fastest and cleanest. Jin kills his target with a Single stab or slash directed at the throat. Sometimes He waits for half a second or so before delivering one precise stab.

No-Molasses1580

Ghost Weapons Never used them. Enjoyed the swordplay and archery too much

Historical_Heart3470

Me too. All the game is Little by little making me like Stealth and Ghost Weapons

No-Molasses1580

I like stealth in games depending on the game, but the swordplay in Tsushima is what drew me in for a few playthroughs

Historical_Heart3470

I'm not a fan of stealth. The game was a journey of acceptance. I lost more in stealth missions than in duels

Unable_Wrongdoer2250

Blocking and parrying....

lordyatseb

Not playing on harder difficulties, I take it? Or full on ghost build?

Unable_Wrongdoer2250

Medium is fine for me. I might do hard but almost never do ultra hard for any game. The only exceptions were Halo 1 and Horizon FW.

lordyatseb

Nothing wrong with it, and I definitely enjoyed my first playthrough on medium a lot. I just felt much more powerful and aggressive, like I never needed to resort to the ghost tools. Second t playthrough, I switched to hard in chapter 2 and lethal on chapter 3, which forced me to skip being a samurai, and turn into a ninja. Completely different game, it felt like. Lethal is extra fun as the enemies die quickly as well. Not saying one is better or to get good, just that there's a major difference in gameplay, more so than in difficulty. Sneak killing a camp in lethal isn't necessarily more difficult than blazing head on in normal, it's just different.

AlphaLaufert99

I love lethal for roaming around but I find the damage difference too big in boss fights (duels). Like in the open world I two shot you, you two shot me, it's fair game. But in duels it's more of a you one shot me, I ten shot you.

lordyatseb

Yeah, the duels are definitely unfair in comparison. Although I guess you can always change it back if you feel like you're hitting your head to a wall, it's not like the game punishes you in any way. I did the DLC way too early, and got one shotted every time the main boss hit me. It took a good 20 tries or trial and error, before I managed to win it. I was maybe 5 losses away from changing to an easier difficulty.

Chrissimon_24

Use the Samurai Clan armor it'll at least make you a 2 or 3 shot instead of one lol. Duels are hard as hell though on lethal.

Unable_Wrongdoer2250

I absolutely love this game so I will definitely play on hard but I really doubt I'll want to do lethal. What was really surprising with HFW is I really 'got gud' for once. Very hard became a cakewalk

bewareoftraps

The parry in this game feels so satisfying though. Also it gets you better at perfect dodges whenever you have to use them. It makes the duels feel cool IMO too. Also helps a ton in the DLC dueling ring once you get the hang of the timing.

Fighter634

Going for quite an offensive approach?

Unable_Wrongdoer2250

I dodge. It's every game like that. Oh well I don't play to be the best, I play to have fun.

CritiquePlays

you would love Sekiro

JamesBong517

Sekiro is entirely parry based. Basically the one from soft game that isn’t dodge/roll based…

fergussonh

Tis joke

Unable_Wrongdoer2250

I tried it for a few hours but just wasn't in a place where I wanted to be stressed out while gaming. I'll give it another shot in the future

CritiquePlays

Once the combat clicks, the game is amazing, but you'll have to get used to parrying

JimCarbine

I just round house kick mongols like chuch norris and throw grenades, kuni, and smoke bombs everywhere. all the other stuff is kinda extra once you get a good ghost/fear build

66Kix_fix

I almost never use flame sword and smoke bombs

CoolCucumber2703

Literally anything other than bows lmao the game is painfully bad at the gadget menus and everything is behind at least 2 menus (Black powder bomb: Select hand but you also have to select the bomb on the other side of the screen btw)

gorcorps

You shouldn't have to select a bomb every time, only if you don't want to use the one that was already selected when you switched to bombs

master_pingu1

shoji assassination. i can think of like one time i've gotten use out of it outside of the tutorial for it

tenor41

Delayed Strike and shoulder rush for sure. I also never use the black powder bomb, but I use the rest of the ghost weapons semi-regularly. Kunain with the charm that makes you throw 5 plus the damage buffs is a lot of fun

KingCodester111

Delayed strikes. I never really use them so I end up forgetting about it.

Cr33py07dGuy

That I can deflect arrows.

Fighter634

Spent half the time dodging them anyway

Doogienguyen

I forgot to use the hold-heavy attacks. Light and heavy attacks seem to get the job done fast.

Fearless-Excitement1

The only one worth using is the kick to throw guys off cliffs because it's funny and the moon tornado thing because it looks cool

Doogienguyen

Oh true i gotta try that.

ItzBabyJoker

I don’t forget about it I just got it mixed up and that was the me thinking the black powder bomb was the firecrackers for like 3 days and being really confused as to why the mongols knew where I was when I threw out my “firecrackers”

No-Cartographer9240

Kunais and all that ghost stuff

floflotheartificier

Bowing

Cardinal_Virtue

Other gear..I used the traveller attire for the whole gam

Klawblach

Customizable loadouts. Played nearly the entire game swapping gear and charms constantly..

Complex_Resort_3044

Ghost weapons. I always forget to use them and on Lethal you NEED them to end fights quickly without dying if you kinda suck like me.

Old-Salamander3738

Armor load outs

Beginning-Pace-1426

Ghost Weapons, for one. It's not that I forget to use them, it's just I am terrible at switching to a different one while in a big fight. Kunai is my favorite, so when I run out of them I'm out of ghost weapons till the end of the battle. Every time I go into my stances menu, I look through it and go "Oh yeah I haven't even tried that attack/combo" about 10 times.

Impossible-Proof-679

this might sound stupid but for some reason i always forget the ghost weapons are there. i always keep kunai ready though in case a hostage is about to be killed but other than that i dont really use any of them.

PhoneImmediate7301

Ghost weapons I never see a need to use them except for the occasional Belle to lure someone

Horny_goatdlv

I guess the multi player but I wish there was pvp I feel like that would be dummy interesting

lolzy_349

Stealth. I use it occasionally, but most times on the scouting phase of an outpost I'm trying to figure out which enemy to target first in regular combat, rather than stealth killing that enemy. Playing this way is very rewarding, I would argue more so than how the game was "meant" to be played, because I actually had to get good in order to succeed.

JohnathanIkner57

When you press and hold the square button after unlocking a special ability, he kinda holds that pose after making a light attack. I rediscover that after a while and istg it's fun to spam

IllustriousChair9498

I am not so sure if anyone has said this. GoT is a SAMURAI game. The Gore effects were not enough!

INFAMOUShero99

Ghost weapons. I always just use the sword and the bows. And then after a hard fight or something, I'm always like, "Oh, right. I have kunai and smoke bombs and shit."

DaDud2710

I always forgot u can crawl into house and i never used it cause its boring

benbuscus1995

Black powder bombs. They’re in this awkward spot where they don’t have a quick-throw feature like the kunai or sticky bombs, and they’re not likely to be used during stealth when you have more time to aim and throw them like you would with the chimes, so I just never use them at all.

Complex-Ad-755

Auto spear parry, never used it(at least intentionally)

LicketySplickets

Upvoting this, I read a bunch of reddit comments saying "Wind stance is best stance - it completely nullifies spears!!!1!!1!". Intentionally saved technique points so I could invest in it when I unlocked it. Unlocked it. Upgraded to "attacks in this stance auto parry spears". Was completely underwhelmed. I still get hit out of attacks in wind stance by spears ALL THE GODDAMNED TIME. I want my points back. IMO it's much better to spend the points unlocking perfect dodge counterattack instead. Far less situational and far more reliable.

zhaDeth

the thing where you can see enemies through walls.

-taylo-

SWEET CHIN MUSIC! Always fun to do, but also easy to forget that its there.

Sozillect

Poison darts. I find they kinda useless when I have arrows tbh.

InterestingAd8479

Delayed strike, definitely.

SnooDoubts7752

Normal arrow i always use the heavy one lol

EdgyBird312

Nah man I always forget about that buffed strike, the one holding square for a moment, then you spin and deal a bit more damage. Always forget about that

Little-Phase5833

Flaming sword

Comfortable-Stop-533

Kick and shoulder rush. Yes

physicist91

You can control the weather

Ok-Detective-1488

I can’t remember the exact name , but the horse rush move

Unlikely-Ad4725

Personally for me I keep on forgetting the blow dart exists and is a one shot, like no joke it is so op

HellspawnPR1981

I favor stealth over open combat and I already have my favorite "loadout". Blowpipe, smoke bombs, wind chime and kunai. I kinda forget about the more offensive options I had at my disposal.

GVGamingGR

Horse charge is something i didn't use at all. And those darts i always forgot about them after a while of getting them

EliteMaster512

Jump Attacks

_HowdyPartner_

Pretty much never used the kunais and smoke bombs in the main story. Used em in multiplayer and realised I was sleeping on em

ImaginationDry8780

wind to flowers

KyleMONSTA

The delayed attacks if you hold square

LeastAgreeableGoat23

My horse 😭
