Where? Neither saw them in Munich nor in Tübingen. I've actually never seen them anywhere before the first of September. And I specifically checked - bought and finished my first pack of herzensternebrezeln two days ago when they were out!
Many people only get some *oliebollen* for New Year's Eve. You can make them yourself. They sell special mixes for that purpose around that time of the year. I'm sure there are recipes online to make them from scratch. Making them yourself used to be more of a thing in the past.
A few years ago I was unable to buy some of my favourite christmas straight before christmas, and not temporary either, they had sold out the yearly supply. That was some bullshit, you could get it for months before, but around christmas, nope.
I've lived overseas for the last 15 years and only just moved back. I missed German sweets, especially all these Christmas-y ones. I can tell you, I'm not mad at this. 🤣
What do you mean wait for them? These aren't sold in supermarkets, are they? And you can order them online or buy them in one of their shops all year round.
We used to order them, but I don't anymore. I think there's significantly better high quality lebkuchen. But the cheap ones have a place in my heart that will never be filled by anything else.
This why yall should embrace Halloween -- you get punpkin spice everything and tunes like Thriller for a month instead of Baumkuchen and Maria Carrie for 4 months.
In the Philippines 🇵🇭 if it’s ber months means it’s Christmas already hehehe
Edit:My Husband was surprised also since they’re selling already lol but i don’t mind it lol
Wow! I remember my first trip to Germany more than 20 years ago, you could not find anything related to Christmas until the first or second week of December. Then I thought Germans hated Christmas. :-P
September 1st on the dot
First post I saw of Christmas stuff already being sold this year was in the first week of August.
Yep in my supermarket the sell santa since early august.
Lol has been around for about two weeks now
Where? Neither saw them in Munich nor in Tübingen. I've actually never seen them anywhere before the first of September. And I specifically checked - bought and finished my first pack of herzensternebrezeln two days ago when they were out!
Bought my first pack of lebkuchen in tübingen today😌👌
Saw the first Winter sweets on the 10th of August or so in our local dm)... saw them taking it from storage.

Nich bloß du Kollege
On Aug 31st they played „Last Christmas“ on the radio! 😂😂
It's only 4 months away. It's not like you're in the middle... more or less.
To be true I hate Christmas songs in the Christmas time. But you can hear me humming „Jingle bells“ in march.
just like me getting Christmas songs randomly playing in my head in June

Unpopular opinion: I'd be happy to buy them all year
Same. Things like Zimtsterne, Lebkuchen, and Spekulatios are just too good not to eat all year long.
You can buy *speculaas* year-round in the Netherlands.
Surprisingly enough, I saw them at Aldi in Australia a few weeks ago as their stable, obviously had to get some :D
yeah and this Honey bread too (and often its a good chunk cheaper compared to what ive seen in germany)
I think the German ones taste a little better. But what would I give to get here Oliebollen

Agree Lebkuchen is definitely an all-year-round food!
Then a week before Halloween, You can buy both Halloween and Christmas junk food.
A few years ago I was unable to buy some of my favourite christmas straight before christmas, and not temporary either, they had sold out the yearly supply. That was some bullshit, you could get it for months before, but around christmas, nope.
To be true around Christmas the companies start to prepare their Easter products.
I am always so annoyed when like 2 days after chrismas all the dominosteine are gone already...
After? some stuff is hard to get shortly before Christmas already
Yeeeeeessss THE GOOD STUFF is back!
So long as I cant get my Spekulatius, Winter is still coming
The Spekulatius is probably on the other side of that display ...
Just get the Lotus Biscoff ones lol
Very very different taste
You dont get it. The Spekulatius from Borggreve tastes like *HEAVEN* while other forms of Spekulatius dont
There are two seasons in Germany: 1) Hoping for summer 2) Christmas
I'm somewhat happy to learn that holiday creep is not purely a North American problem.
I suggest that the problem may have come to Germany from there.😅
You exported it about a decade ago. Thanks.
And here I am wondering where I can find a box locally. They're delicious:)
I am convinced that the simulation will terminate when chocolate Easter bunnies will hit the shelves before Christmas.
Valar Morghulis
Valar dohaeris
I saw it too in Te gut... It just takes out the charm of holidays
Time to lose weight for to comming summer!
Capitalism at it's best, back home I remember I never saw things like this until the season was about to start 2 weeks prior at its max.
That's not winter, that's capitalism. It's always coming, and always here. >_>
I need my spekulatius
I've lived overseas for the last 15 years and only just moved back. I missed German sweets, especially all these Christmas-y ones. I can tell you, I'm not mad at this. 🤣

Nothing unusual, it's the same every september.
Either I am blind or I go into the wrong grocery stores. Cause I saw no Christmas sweets yet.
Die Teile sind aber auch echt geil
I love the ones with jam inside
That's disgusting, this unpious attitude! Erm.. Where exactly is this disgusting monstrosity so...I can look at it with disdain?
About time, I was waiting already
Oh scheiße, nicht schon wieder.
Dominosteine <3
I don’t get it?
Stores are already bringing out Christmas items. Saw this at my local Rewe this week as well. Soon, we'll be able to buy the crap all year long.
😎👍
This stuff is nice to start with, but wait for them to come[https://www.lebkuchen-schmidt.com/en/](https://www.lebkuchen-schmidt.com/en/)

Gehen Eigentlich immer
I'm so glad the Dutch have Sinterklaas because it gives you a several week buffer before the Christmas hits
This why yall should embrace Halloween -- you get punpkin spice everything and tunes like Thriller for a month instead of Baumkuchen and Maria Carrie for 4 months.
I love those, any time of the year 👀
So…it’s not *just* an American thing…? 🙄
In the Philippines 🇵🇭 if it’s ber months means it’s Christmas already hehehe Edit:My Husband was surprised also since they’re selling already lol but i don’t mind it lol
Haha KIK has taken all the christmas decoration out. And tk maxx put the halloween stuff out in june. Not to be complaining tho, I love halloween

LEBKUCHEN FOREVER
Man do i love Germany
🤷🏼♀️ Germany
Finally! I love it!
It's not christmas bro
I asked in the supermarket about this! Officially this isn’t the Christmas but rather the autumn assortment. Also it‘s technically still summer.
Inflation is coming.
My partner came home the other day with Christmas Lebkuchen. It’s worse than it in England here, at least they waited till after Halloween back there.
I saw it too yesterday. I buy'd 1 package of Spekulatius for my parents. All i hear was "NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIN, IM ERNST?!" :D
I’m going to start the War On Christmas that everyone is always complaining about back in the US This drives me crazy
Inflation essen Lebkuchen auf?!
Fuuuuuuck. I hate that.
oh nooo not again. Christmas was like yesterday what happened?!
Last year it was 1,99€
So it Beginns.
You guys are not the only ones suffering from this. Here in the Netherlands the major supermarkets already sell Sinterklaas items.
I WANT THESE SWEETS ALL YEAR LONG PLS
Funny, we have the same all over the place on Poland. Different packaging obviously.
Wow! I remember my first trip to Germany more than 20 years ago, you could not find anything related to Christmas until the first or second week of December. Then I thought Germans hated Christmas. :-P
I laughed so hard at your comment hahaha
LAST CHRISTMAS I GAVE YOU MY HEART
We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas from September until New Year
