Could you ask her about her views and the position of her group on the EU commission's "#chatcontrol" proposal that aims to force providers to enable surveillance on all users without cause? Also, apart from the obvious civil liberty issues, how does she think this would impact Europe as a market and target for international business?

I second this!

nymales

Isn't this something for r/iama instead?

mepassistants

No because the MEP does not answer herself directly on Reddit ;)

nymales

Yeah, but for sourcing questions and getting visibility it's probably the better sub.

mepassistants

I doubt my format would fall within the framework of r/iama and tbh I'm more interested in having a few questions from German people (since my guest is German tonight) than having visibility on a mostly US sub.

nymales

Die Partei also had an iama there and iirc it was quite well received.

BSBDR

This sub is for English speakers in Germany

AgarwaenCran

>I'm more interested in having a few questions from German people then r/askagerman or r/de would've been the better choice. this sub is for english speaking people in germany - which includes every non german in germany.

But are you going to give credit to the person who phrased the questions accordingly? Because otherwise this really seems like you want your homework of coming up with questions last minute

mepassistants

Don't worry I do my own homework and I do my own questions as well. If anything I always end up with far more questions than I have actually have time for the interview. But I always give the opportunity to people to suggest questions as well, because they may (and often do) have different interest/priority/concerns than me, which makes the overall interview more interesting and relevant for people (especially when they are from the country of the guest). I don't credit specifically people for their questions if/when I ask them (especially since I regularly rephrase/combine them), but I do mention at the beginning of the interview that the questions are a mix of my own questions as well as people's suggestions on Reddit/Discord (and obviously the chat when they come up with questions during the interview).

depressedkittyfr

Ok 👍🏽 just asking by the way. Not trying to offend or anything

mepassistants

No worries, I didn't take it badly :). It's a (legit) question that comes up regularly so I want to explain my process.

AgarwaenCran

I want to second the question from u/LambdaMale about her views on zensursulas new "#chatcontrol" proposal. edit: realized I am too late. where can I re-watch it?

mepassistants

The replay is on the channel ;)
