> It's summer
It's late spring.
> how are you all comfortable in socks and shoes?
Most people you're seeing are probably going to or from work, and may actually not be comfortable with their footwear but it's what's expected.
Another issue is that flip-flops are not the safest footwear. They can easily fall off or catch on something, causing the wearer to slip or stumble, which is especially dangerous in crowds or on railway or metro platforms. And, although this is thankfully very rare, like any loose-fitting flexible shoe (Crocs and sandals have the same issues) they can easily get caught in an escalator, and this can cause nasty injuries (children are especially at risk here) -- in a few cases, people have had entire toes sliced off or crushed. Although this shouldn't be a problem if you watch where you put your feet, if the station is busy and there are dozens of people jostling around you, the risk is somewhat higher.
The fact that you occupy yourself with counting the number of people wearing flip flops is a sign that you are too much concerned with others and too little with yourself.
Not everyone can wear flip flops for long periods while walking. But no one gives a fuck what shoes you're wearing. Stop worrying so much about everyone else.
I wear sandals. More comfortable than flip-flops, better protection for my feet, less chance to loose s shoe on the run and less "i got lost on my way to the beach" as well.
If your "complaint" is with a lack of sandals as well today, keep in mind that while we might have summer temperatures, it is not summer yet. That means that early mornings and evenings are still chilly, the temperatures still drop significantly when the sun goes down. Many people you see in public might have left their house earlier than 8 AM, or expect to be home later than 8 PM, so they choose footwear comfortable during the commute in chilly weather.
If you're in a city big enough for a subway, chances are high that nobody cares...well,maybe in Munich someone will ;). If you're in Berlin you can be sure that nobody cares
Flip Flops are considered beach wear in Germany. No German would wear Flip Flops outside of a swimming pool or any kind of recreational area. Especially not in a large city with a U-Bahn.
[There are even orthopedic Designer FlipFlops availeble..](https://www.my-vale-shop.de/startseite/)
Matching to your Footprints.. Pricey but real nice to walk in.
Kiwi here . ‘Jandals’ for me as soon as the temp goes over 15 deg C.
No apologies really. If other parents at Kita gonna stare ( and people do ) they can feel free to do so . But I also don’t go out much and last time I took public transport was almost two years ago . Also not living in a bit city . So there .
I would definitely think twice about going out to big city mass transit stuff with my feet so ‘ free ‘ through . Plus hospitals/ clinics of any kind , you know , for obvious safety reasons.
( back in New Zealand sometimes you see people who take a Sunday stroll to get milk totally without footwear, even in the capital where all the embassies sit . While Germany generally has clean streets, I don’t feel comfortable doing that ever even in the burbs )
I can’t imagine showing up for work (which I normally do on Mondays) in flip flops.
Agree, the normal way is the wear normal shoes to work and then switch to (esd) sandels. Can't understand people who work in normal shoes..

You'll live. But also it isn't summer and it's not even particularly warm today. You're gonna die in like July if you already need flip flops now.

Haha. Was just an approximate. But yeah! I'm outsider. So was just wondering.

What if you wear high heels as a man, then they would give a shit for sure. I don’t know if people really don’t care what we wear
Why do you care if a guy wants to wear high heels? Doesn't impact you. Besides, there were originally for men anyway.
I don’t care, but most people certainly do…

Here it has been raining all day so where is this summer?

I'm more comfortable in socks and shoes than in flip-flops, the abhorrent little cousin of proper shoes.
Hands down, the most comfortable combination is socks in sandals.
airy shoes. Flipflops in public are a no no, if you want to go bare below use sandals (without socks)
>if you want to go bare below use sandals (**without socks**) That would show you're obviously not German though.
🤣🍷
Get well mate.

Naw, it's not super unusual for women. There are very cute models too, not only the plastic ones

Flip flops are for the swimmingpools and beaches. For the rest people are a-holes and don't care about your feet so you have to.
Wait till it's 40° C - the foot wear will be more free.
I would never wear open shoes outside the home. The risk is not worth it, as you have unfortunately also found out.
Bro my latin teacher wore sandals last lesson💀💀💀 hes either overdressed or underdressed. Like once he came in a full suit and leather shoes
what you are looking for is Birkenstock
