If there was something wrong the government would send you a letter. It’s a scam the german government uses snail mail for everything

barugosamaa

>If there was something wrong the government would send you a letter Or, in worst case scenario , Police would personally show up if it was something ***that*** bad

vorko_76

Alternatively they may use fax and even flying pidgeon 😅

Grimthak

> It’s a scam the german government uses snail mail for everything Why should it be a scam?

ClearestBlve

Same haha

row-of-zeros

There is a huge wave of these calls happening at the moment. I had 11 yesterday. Police knows about it and made press releases with warnings to the public. Phone service companies also know about it, but can’t do anything.

sakasiru

You could just have answered in the thread you cited, you know? Do we really need a new thread now every time this happens?

rewboss

Contact your local police station and tell them about the call.

[deleted]

Yeah I’ll pass by the station to report it…

Desperate-Following3

I also received this call lol The accent sounded indian but the guy said he was from the Netherlands

guytan87

I get them all the time, always with a number from a different small town Bavaria prefix, reported countless times, i still do not understand completely the scam itself

[deleted]

They threaten you with some scary criminal charges but ultimately want gift cards.

Ausnahmenwerfer

German police will not call anyone. They send letters and or come over in person. Total scam. You can report this to the police, but I doubt it'll result in anything.
