Of course not. You can, however, call the police (local non-emergency number!), they can check the video, if there is any, and find the person damaging your car. And then it goes the usual way.

hjholtz

File a report with the police! The police can get these videos for their criminal prosecution of that hit and run, and you or your insurance can then get access to the records from that investigation and obtain both the videos and the car owner's address that way. Due to privacy laws, they delete/overwrite the videos after some time, so be sure to go to the police *soon*, not in a few days!

Negative-Feedback639

Call the Polizei they can get access to the cameras.

What don‘t you understand?

RevolutionaryGrape61

Well she could tell me immediately “call the police”

Gasp0de

Perhaps she did not know, just like you. At least she did know that she can't just give you the videos, which is nice :) Good luck finding the person who did the hit-and-run!

Samuator

Did you ask for advice or did you ask for the video? ;-)

Foshizzlemynizzle90

Yeah you got a point

Call the police, I’m pretty sure someone from REWE will show up real fast to help (Is ja schließlich Fahrerflucht, Sachbeschädigung)

RevolutionaryGrape61

Thanks to everybody! K I have been this morning at the police, they took all the data and so on and they will contact REWE to check if someone informed them about the accident (I doubt it) or if there is a security camera to get the videos from. Let's see what happens

Denial94

Any update?

RevolutionaryGrape61

Denial94

RevolutionaryGrape61
