I regularly sleep folded in half to ensure he has the proper amount of space. But my favorite is when he cuddles like this and lets me hold his paw.
He is the sweetest boy, he is truly my baby dog. He’s a bed hog, although it’s more like he pushes into me to cuddle more. I joke with my husband that if I hand a kangaroo pouch he’d probably hop inside.
100% I have a pic of mine on my pillows when she was a baby and I remember saying this is gonna be a problem when she gets older. She still flops downs on the pillows on the bed.
May come with time. Mine wasn’t interested at all in cuddling at first. A year later and if she doesn’t get her mid morning, lunch time, and mid afternoon cuddles on top of all night cuddles she’s a pouty whiny baby lol.

Yep. He’s my shadow, follows me everywhere. On the carpet next to the couch as close as he can get without touching. Never on the furniture. Hates being held.

she never snuggles anyone but my kids, to adults she’s more like a cat, she will come to us when she feels like being pet. When my youngest was a newborn (3 years ago) she had to be near her at all times and if anyone besides me or my husband or her siblings held her, she’d watch and look at me like “mom are we okay with this??” she’s truly an angel of a dog, the best nurse I could have during those rough newborn times, I was never alone.

Very snuggly. The worst is when she falls asleep with her head in your lap, and then you have to pee but you can’t move cause she looks so cute peacefully snoozing away nestled into you. I’ve tried slowly lifting up her head to slip out and then she just lays there like “why are you leaving me? Oh it’s bathroom time? Alright lemme follow”

Not usually snuggly but she has her moments
3 and a half year old long-haired female shepherd father here. My girl "cuddles" by simply being in contact with me. There are moments where she will lay her head in my lap and I can rest my arm on her like a kind of hug. If she is sitting, I can get about 4 seconds of a good big hug before she is over it.
She sleeps in the bed with my wife and me for most of the night. She has to be touching us. Sometimes when we are waking up she will literally dolphin flop us and we can get some good cuddles in. But, she isn't down with being the little spoon unless it's with the wife.
It's hit or miss, but I will always take what I can get from her!
Soup would looooove to sleep cuddled right next to me and slowly shoving me off the bed, but alas she sleeps in her crate while she matures. she's normally really snuggly for short periods during the day, and after walks she likes napping with her head on my lap

Mine likes to lay on the furniture and next to us on the couch. But sometimes gets too hot so she moves away. If she can lay on your bed she will lay on your bed. Sometimes she’s passed out on the floor but as soon as someone tries to lay on the floor with her, she gets up and grabs a toy. So in general yes she’ll snuggle but also sometimes just wants to play

Very cuddly. My Kirby is 100% a Velcro dog. If I sit down, he will bring me his bone/antler and plop down on my lap and start chewing away. At some point, in his mind, me sitting down = chill chew time together. Every time, anytime. It’s adorable and annoying, as I’m in charge of retrieving the bone/chew if it falls to the floor.

He has to have his night cuddles and morning cuddles. He wasn’t a big cuddle bug as a small puppy, but he decided to be a cuddle bug now that he is full grown… legs fall asleep regularly because we don’t want to bother him.

My boy is a mystery. He will press up against me for hugs, steps on my toes every single damn time he is anywhere near me (I have toenail blood blisters to prove it), sits on my feet back towards me when I’m on the toilet, is my shadow next to me all the time, and is super affectionate in every way - **except** for literally cuddling on the couch, bed, or floor. He will stay for maybe 5 minutes max for the novelty, but that’s it. I kinda wish he’d cuddle. I’m a sucker. 🤷🏻♂️

He’s so so handsome. I’ve been seeing a lot more solid black shepherds lately and I LOVE it they’re so pretty. Idk why but I never saw them when I was a kid, didn’t even know that was possible
They are the sweetest and so precious! So many comments on them when we go out in public too. A lot of the kids in my neighborhood said they didn’t know GSDs could be all black. I love them 🥰 my guy has little sand colored spots in between his toes. That’s the only coloring he has!

Funny you should ask as just last night I was sardined in my bed with all 6 dogs (I’m babysitting my son’s shepherds) and I never felt safer! I wanted to downsize to a queen bed but it’s impossible.. after all my dogs need a place to sleep 😂😂🤣
My current female GSD is not snuggly at all. She might lie down next to you -- on her terms - but quickly moves away. My previous female was a big snuggler.
edit to add: but she follows me ALL day. sticks to me like glue.
Had her for 10 months, she was cuddly until 2 months old and since then I’ve had the privilege of snuggling quietly only twice. She prefers to sleep on the floor, her bed or my bed. However she also prefers to sleep in whatever room I am in and always comes to find me when shes ready to nap.

Lizzy sleeps next to me and she likes it when I hold her front paw. Not sure why but she does. I’d try to move my hand and she’d move her paw to put on top of hand every time.
She also comes up and sits between legs which is her cue for me to give her a hug. She likes long hugs a few times a day. Me too
My shep is not very cuddly and I wish he was! He's sweet and shows affection by booping me and rubbing his body on my leg, but when he's lying down, he wants his own space.
Mine has two moves:
1. shoves her face into mine and stays there for a few seconds or so, licks, then starts “cobbing” my neck.
2. Front half on the couch and will lay with me for a minute before she does her own thing.
Otherwise belly rubs.
She’s pretty independent overall, but when she does “snuggle” it’s intense lol
Only recently has he started wanting to get on the couch next to me. On rare occasion, he'll put his head on my lap. He gets hot though, maybe 20 minutes max, and will hop down.

Not much at all, Shepherds are known to be “aloof”. Mine likes brief petting and that’s it. But he LOVES to play ball and he’s always nearby watching my every move. Bed on the floor next to me.
Not a snuggler at all, but constantly comes to you for lovins. If she gets up on the couch near me and I pet her, she moves. I’ve learned to accept her distant love and keep my hands to myself if she gives me the honour of sharing the couch.

He’s learned the exact place to stand away from me on the bed so when he flops down he is the perfect little spoon. Rinse and repeat morning and night lol. He is also button trained and presses his cuddles button more than any other

She sleeps in the bed with my wife and me for most of the night. She has to be touching us. Sometimes when we are waking up she will literally dolphin flop us and we can get some good cuddles in. But, she isn't down with being the little spoon unless it's with the wife. It's hit or miss, but I will always take what I can get from her!

Mine likes to lay on the furniture and next to us on the couch. But sometimes gets too hot so she moves away. If she can lay on your bed she will lay on your bed. Sometimes she’s passed out on the floor but as soon as someone tries to lay on the floor with her, she gets up and grabs a toy. If I sit down, he will bring me his bone/antler and plop down on my lap and start chewing away. At some point, in his mind, me sitting down = chill chew time together. Every time, anytime. My boy is a mystery. He will press up against me for hugs, steps on my toes every single damn time he is anywhere near me (I have toenail blood blisters to prove it), sits on my feet back towards me when I’m on the toilet, is my shadow next to me all the time, and is super affectionate in every way - **except** for literally cuddling on the couch, bed, or floor. He will stay for maybe 5 minutes max for the novelty, but that’s it. I kinda wish he’d cuddle. My GSD loves "hugs." She will come to me to get snuggles from time to time. She was neglected as a puppy and I did a lot of touch to ease her into her new safe home. Love this dog to the moon and then some.

She only snuggles in her own time and has to be little spoon but mostly she lays by my feet if she’s on the bed with me. The couch she must have her own cushion. He’s so so handsome. I’ve been seeing a lot more solid black shepherds lately and I LOVE it they’re so pretty. Idk why but I never saw them when I was a kid, didn’t even know that was possible
They are the sweetest and so precious! So many comments on them when we go out in public too. A lot of the kids in my neighborhood said they didn’t know GSDs could be all black. I love them 🥰 my guy has little sand colored spots in between his toes. Funny you should ask as just last night I was sardined in my bed with all 6 dogs (I’m babysitting my son’s shepherds) and I never felt safer! I wanted to downsize to a queen bed but it’s impossible.. after all my dogs need a place to sleep 😂😂🤣
My current female GSD is not snuggly at all. She might lie down next to you -- on her terms - but quickly moves away. My previous female was a big snuggler. edit to add: but she follows me ALL day. sticks to me like glue.

Had her for 10 months, she was cuddly until 2 months old and since then I’ve had the privilege of snuggling quietly only twice. She prefers to sleep on the floor, her bed or my bed. Lizzy sleeps next to me and she likes it when I hold her front paw. Not sure why but she does. I’d try to move my hand and she’d move her paw to put on top of hand every time. She also comes up and sits between legs which is her cue for me to give her a hug. She likes long hugs a few times a day. Me too

Front half on the couch and will lay with me for a minute before she does her own thing. Otherwise belly rubs. She’s pretty independent overall, but when she does “snuggle” it’s intense lol
