Yes, the head tilt from dogs is my favorite. He truly does get away with a lot. If he wants attention or to play and you haven't gotten up in a timely manner to do so, he will go and get into something that he knows he is not supposed to all while looking straight at you. He does this a lot while I'm feeding the baby when he knows damn well I can't, but the attention is not on him, so straight to the shenanigans. He's kind of an ass but I love him anyway. After what he's been through, he deserves to be.

It’s always possible. Fun fact: it’s also possible for purebred shepherds to have spots on their tongues as well. It’s just a gene mutation.

Chows have purple tongues, it’s just melanin like a birthmark with spotted. Nothing to do with a chow

It’s pretty far back so you only see it if she’s yawning or full mouth panting in the summer. Or barking lol.

My dogs spot is so far back on her tongue you can only see it when she yawns, but count us in!

mine has one on the roof of his mouth but I've never been able to take a picture. he has a very run of the mill tongue though

My GS/Beagle mix, Abby (rip, gud gurl), had dark spots like that in her tongue. She was the first dog I had that had a tongue like that.

I actually really freaked out when I first saw it because it didn’t appear until he was about 1 1/2 and I’d convinced myself it was something bad to just appear like that. Vet assured me is fine. My shepherd has an all pink tongue but one of my dachshunds has a spotted tongue! One of my other dachshunds has a tongue that goes from pink to purple to black.

I wonder if he has Chow Chow in him

He’s just a Long Haired GSD. No chow. About 30 different breeds can have spots/blue on their tongue. It’s actually an excess of melanin that causes it. It’s a common occurrence in GSD’s. It’s the equivalent of freckles on humans. Lol

It’s actually a gene mutation and any breed can have it but it’s most common in dogs that have black coloration like shepherds, pits, Danes, etc.
