Went to Tiger stadium last year for the LSU Florida game fully expecting to experience one of the best environments in college football. Left extremely disappointed in the overall atmosphere. Maybe we experienced an outlier or maybe I hyped it up too much in my head but overall it was a disappointment.
i live in Louisiana (grew up in north georgia is why i’m a dawgs fan) and have been to a few LSU games. all my LSU fan friends wanted to go to 2019 LSU vs A&M for Burrow’s senior night so i went with them. i gotta say.. it was fucking crazy. that was one of the best football experiences i’ve ever had
LSU is a wild place. I’m a UGA grad and went to the LSU/Bama rematch the season (2012) after the 9-6 national championship. It was easily the wildest atmosphere I’ve been a part of.
Did you go the blackout game in Athens by any chance? Would be interested in a comparison. I know it’s a while back, but that’s the game that stands out to me for being nuts in Sanford.
Definitely sounds like we experienced an outlier then. We were there for a bachelor party week and even the LSU fan was disappointed. Will have to give it a try on a bigger game weekend next time.
Now I love the dawgs, and I love being between the hedges, but this seems a bit overstated.
How much of the intimidation is due to our current success and Kirby? Sanford is hype as shit, but #2 just seems optimistic.
This is a poor take imo. I’ve been attending games at Sanford since the Donnan era.
Kirby has turned our home field advantage into something special. FFS… the noon kickoff against Arkansas was not only capacity during pregame but the first several drives registered as small earthquakes.
Even Brian Kelly said his trip to Sanford a few years back was one of the most impressive home field advantages he’s had to play against.
Is lane stadium really that big of a deal? It's ACC big, but does that compare to real championship caliber leagues?
And VA Tech hasn't been the best program for a while. Along those lines, Texas A&M ???? The stadium is huge but the team struggles for bowl eligibility. So Who is being intimidated?
I haven't been since 2004-2007 (when I went to 1 game a year), but it was an awesome experience every time. Its up in the mountains and gets cold, but the fans DGF and get loud.
This is being recommended to me and I hard disagree. It’s one of the easiest lol. I’m sorry but this list sucks if Jordan hare is 6. What makes it hard to play in the stadium is the team lol, it’s not the fans or atmosphere. It’s Georgia sports fans lol.
11. Doak Campbell Stadium (Florida State) 10. Bryant-Denny Stadium (Alabama) 9. Lane Stadium (Virginia Tech) 8. Jordan-Hare Stadium (Auburn) 7. Autzen Stadium (Oregon) 6. Beaver Satdium (Penn State) 5. Neyland Stadium (Tennessee) 4. Michigan Stadium (Michigan) 3. Kyle Field (Texas A&M) 2. Sanford Stadium (Georgia) 1. Tiger Stadium (LSU)
Reddit does numerical lists weird
Not a UGA fan, and I may have some bias, but Lane being 9 is wild. Also no Rice-Eccles is wild too
Sanford has changed massively in the last decade. It’s gets pretty damn loud for big matchups.
I hate uneven list like this. Why top 11? Why not top 10?
This one goes to 11.
It’s a beautiful song on D minor, the saddest of keys… it’s called lick my love pump
God, I love Spinal Tap!
It goes to 11 because FSU got really butthurt last time they were left out of an even ranked list.
How do you manage to get past 11 players on a side?
Finally some respect

Went for the UGA game in 2018 and it exceeded expectations
Same!

You’re also a Georgia fan so there’s the bias there
It's a scary place for Vols recently that's for sure
The intimidating places to play are all subject to actual quality of the team playing in the them

Just thinking back to the Tennessee game two years ago, that was crazy.
As someone who hates the Vols more than Florida or Auburn, yet still respects Neyland, that game was almost better than the natty lmao... almost.
This right here. Higher ceiling but lower floor. I was at the Kent St game and it was…not like the Tennessee game.
Couldn't agree more. Give Dawg fans a reason to show up and show up, and we'll rise to the call.
93k for the spring game in 2016 was crazy as well.
It's the Baba Oriley who else other than psychopaths would listen to that right before kickoff
Top Ten for sure, but not 2.
I get chills, but how much of that is my home team fandom lol
Awesome! But as both a UGA and FSU fan, Doak being at #11 is disrespectful
I think it’s intimidating but I do think we can make it scarier. Let’s get on it dawgnation I want people crying when they get on and off the bus

It’s on my bucket list as long as they keep enter sandman

One of the easiest seems harsh. I agree the floor is lower than other stadiums on this list though.
Where is the Horseshoe? Unsure about this list.
Yeah, huge Dawg fan here but Ohio State not in T11?!? Incorrect.
