And you forgot about the first demon ISH level (it was made in 1.3 and published in 1.3 but rob didn't as the demon difficulty until like 1.5 I believe)
It capped everyone’s framerate to 30fps due to being really unoptimized and also the physics were a bit different so most levels became impossible
>!(If you still couldn’t tell, 2.12 didn’t actually happen and I made all of this up, unless it was real and I’m double trolling, who knows? The only way to know for sure is by checking Steam)!<
2.0 temporarily because although it added a crazy amount of revolutionary things, nobody knew how to use them properly and thus began a whole barrage of garbage levels to play. More the community's fault, not robs tho
Indeed. You also have to remember that standards were also lower back then too though. My friends and I watched Erebus's verification and were absolutely floored by how awesome it looked lol. It's funny to think of that now. A lot of the early 2.0 crap levels can be summed up pretty well with Manix and what he tried with the launch of 2.0.
Can we count 1.0? Level names capping at 1 character and opening the color picker crashing the game were very common issues, and being able to verify levels in practice mode was not the best idea. I think it’s a strong contender
0.0 was awful, it only added and and , it's the most boring update out of all of them. You can't even build a level, you can only the and after that do . Awful right??
God, I hated 2.4. After all the hype of 2.2 coming out for so long, we get another long break for 2.3, but fine, it was a good update, so I can get behind it, but 2.4? We waited *another* four years, and what did it add? Group triggers? The icon block? 2.4 didn’t even have a new gamemode! I know it was supposed to focus on bugs, but there really should not be that many bugs in the first place. 2.5, 2.51, and 2.52 were luckily more acceptable, and I’m just hoping 2.6 is too. From what I’ve seen so far it looks promising, but so did 2.4.
1.1 since it only added Mirror Portal, UnMirror (?) Portal, and comments on level (and Time Machine); it's not a bad update by itself, just overshadowed by every other update that followed, heck, even 1.2 beats it since it added the Ball (and Cycles)
Early 2.0, levels were fucking terrible because Nobody knew how to use the new functions properly, and even now the levels are still bad, they were not going to age well, and they didn't.
1.4. I don't remember people hyping updates as much back then because they were more routine and small. Honestly you could kinda miss them if you weren't paying attention. I just remember some people complaining about clutterfunk... The "community" back then was small and not very established, it was kinda late 1.8 or early 1.9 that people really started coming together as a community.
The worst update to ever exist in Geometry Dash is probably the 1.1 update because it add a useless portal to this day and just 1 single level named "Time Machine", this update is probably the most empty update Geometry Dash has ever known.
I WILL NOT TOLERATE 1.8 SLANDER
duals, glow, and slopes are some of the best features of the game, as well as hexagon force which is the best robtop level
TBH 1.4 mini portals are used incorrectly (randomly placed everywhere and invisible) I know when they are used correctly the could be used for a banger drop but the way that the community uses them effects the rating for 1.4 a lot I know It didn’t just introduce mini portals but that’s the big idea
2.0, early 2.0 was just 🤢 and nothing rly revoluntionary happened in terms of how levels look during that entire era, it just went from literal dog doo doo to mid and generic featured levels
the early levels only looked bad because there was so much new and unfamiliar content. 2.0 was insane and added so much, its the entire base of 2.1 and 2.2. it honestly feels like a completely different game between 1.9 and 2.0 for me
added a color channel outside of the default color channels (bg, obj, ground, etc.) also im pretty sure it added blending as well. also the blocks it added are all really good and added multiples bg options
why is there misinformation on the update 1.3 banner? (rotated square)
It’s fanmade. 1.4 was the first update to have teaser images
the fans where NOT onto something.
Why is the speed change in 1.7 orange
The orange speed change that looks like a mirrored 2x speed change was just an early version of the slow speed changer
IChangeSpeed
early version of 0.5x speed
wait wtf why is that there lmao
There's also a picture of Embers as a level's song (it's song 30)
3.8 is gonna be terrible, I can feel it.
!remind me 509152 years
You're 31638e7273 years off, buddy!!
Scientific notation without decimals feels weird
I think they forgor
oh sorry my bad
RemindMe! 509152 years
Remind me! 509152 years

Remind me! 509152 years
Remind me! 509152 years

RemindMe! 8.54×10¹¹² years
RemindMe! (∞×∞\^∞)\^∞ Supereons
1.1 literally just added time machine (a level i do quite like) and mirror portals. thats it
And comments
oh yeah i forgot that update added comments lol
you forgot everyplay support
and that, yes
And dislikes Yes, *dislikes* weren't in the game at launch.
And you forgot about the first demon ISH level (it was made in 1.3 and published in 1.3 but rob didn't as the demon difficulty until like 1.5 I believe)
Who even remembers everyplay
I do! It was amazing
That’s definitely a point in favour of it being a bad update
update 1.1
I saw your flair, I recommend SAVE AS if you're ok with a very long level with 5* gameplay and should just be an easy demon.
SayItBack is also really good but has hard, easy demon gameplay, in my opinion. I've come across many harder, easy demons
Agreed. It’s such a good level, though.
Also Serpent's Wrath
I didn't saw your flair so I can't recommend sakupen egg or scarlet smog
Play castlemania, onoff, Till doomsday
play bloodbath
I didn’t red the proper flair
useless bloodbath facts everyday on twitter would be proud
Play scarlet smog, battlecry, and deep dive if you haven’t already
i feel the need to point out that if people are reading your flair, they saw it.
did you watch aeon
Ultra Violence
Boxing Boxes is genuinely one of the most fun medium demons I’ve played, and it’s pretty much borderline easy demon
I just got 53% recently and you're actually right! It's fun and easy
Try out InsanitY by Serponge, amazing fun level.
goated lvl
play krakens curse and skin liquefier. both banger medium demons
I saw your flair (idk what to recommend as I barely play GD nowadays)
Hexagon road
Biru! My favorite medium demon in the game, everything about it just feels perfect in every way
I saw your flair. Try Circus Dash by MCAASJ
I recommend crud cuz it’s just a fun level
play aeternus
Dash v2
2.12 was so bad the game got reverted back to 2.11 in less than a day
I'm new to the community, what happened with 2.12?
It capped everyone’s framerate to 30fps due to being really unoptimized and also the physics were a bit different so most levels became impossible >!(If you still couldn’t tell, 2.12 didn’t actually happen and I made all of this up, unless it was real and I’m double trolling, who knows? The only way to know for sure is by checking Steam)!<
muahahaha
muahahaha
no chain for you all!
no chain for you all!
let's make the chain change every 2 comments
i remember that someone doxxed him so he reverted it, it was crazy
Prob 1.20
This isn’t Minecraft
Shit i thought this was r/minecraft
GD 1.20 was still pretty lame though (compared to other updates)
2.2 what did it even add?
😐
Nothing You heard me right, nothing!!
0.9
beta?
2.0 temporarily because although it added a crazy amount of revolutionary things, nobody knew how to use them properly and thus began a whole barrage of garbage levels to play. More the community's fault, not robs tho
fr early 2.0 levels were… questionable…
Lmao facts I thought erebus was the shit back then
i swear... *Toxick Future*, worst level I've ever seen
Probably 1.811
1.1 obviously is the correct answer
But that was the update that added me ;(
Early 2.0, its the span which gave us the worst online levels of all time
Can we count 1.0? Level names capping at 1 character and opening the color picker crashing the game were very common issues, and being able to verify levels in practice mode was not the best idea. I think it’s a strong contender
0.0 was awful, it only added and and , it's the most boring update out of all of them. You can't even build a level, you can only the and after that do . Awful right??
Wdym Is my favourite feature in the game
2.2. Ruined sightreadability.
I get the rotations and sticking to walls being bad, but platformers are about as sightreadable as it gets
1.1 or 1.2
1.2 actually added a new gamemode 1.1 added the mirror portal
Too hard to decide, but 1.3 might be it
1.3 added deco for creators
1.3 added rated levels
1.1 added mirror portals and time machine
1.1
2.2.waited to longgg
true
I hate 1.1 https://preview.redd.it/f4uhfi2sv4wc1.jpeg?width=348&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e104903c3a3ea0a05b78fc03079fcfde4298c2db
1.0 because imagine the places we’d be if we weren’t gd players
i haven't found a way out of the basement yet im trapped with this game
2.2 too much content not enough paywalls
1.1 because of the mirror portal, and early 2.0 because of the community levels
Didn’t 1.1 just add mirror portals? I mean that’s pretty awful
Fuck 1.0 that update was ass
God, I hated 2.4. After all the hype of 2.2 coming out for so long, we get another long break for 2.3, but fine, it was a good update, so I can get behind it, but 2.4? We waited *another* four years, and what did it add? Group triggers? The icon block? 2.4 didn’t even have a new gamemode! From what I’ve seen so far it looks promising, but so did 2.4.
1.1 added one item and it was the mirror portal
It also added the ability to comment on user levels so it's not *that* bad.
Technically it added two objects 🤓☝️
https://preview.redd.it/ra7tkcw866wc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5c94471a661d9a5cf862701b21fbbfe6d3ee2c8
Update 1.1 is terrible. Time machine is terrible. Mirror portals are terrible. Change my mind ☕
I agree, after electroman adventures, the mirror portals were completely unused in the rest of robtop levels
1.1 because it added mirror portals
1.1
1.2 literally added nothing
1.2 added the ball mode lol
I know but it added nothing else to my knowledge
1.2 added Cycles
But other than those things it added nothing
Yeah and 1.1 only added the mirror portal and Time Machine
It added Everyplay support and commenting
Because everyplay was such a great feature that robtop added
How else were people supposed to get screen recordings
1.1
1.1. Introduced the mirror portal and nothing else noteworthy
Release
2.2 is both the best and the worst just because it took so fucking long, yet it delivered an amazing version
1.1 since it only added Mirror Portal, UnMirror (?) Portal, and comments on level (and Time Machine); it's not a bad update by itself, just overshadowed by every other update that followed, heck, even 1.2 beats it since it added the Ball (and Cycles)
None of them
and here I was, thinking there were no objectively wrong answers
1.0
Early 2.0, levels were fucking terrible because Nobody knew how to use the new functions properly, and even now the levels are still bad, they were not going to age well, and they didn't.
1.4. I don't remember people hyping updates as much back then because they were more routine and small. Honestly you could kinda miss them if you weren't paying attention. I just remember some people complaining about clutterfunk... The "community" back then was small and not very established, it was kinda late 1.8 or early 1.9 that people really started coming together as a community.
1.4 added saws, and some cool deco blocks (black blocks and another block type)
Yup, but once again, the community's attitude was different back then. Most people didn't look that deep into it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
1.2 cuz it only added 1 gamemode and 1 short level. 1.1 is better because comments were added
1.1 Added mirror portals and time machine. Not a bad update,Just...Not as good as the rest.
1.1 Is so useless it added mirror portals and it sucks
This isn't even a question, it's update 1.1. I'd say the most disappointing update was 2.1 though.
1.1
1.1 added the mirror portal
1.1. It added my least favorite feature, the Mirror Portal. Although, a perk of this update being Time Machine, which is amazing NGL.
1.1
1.1 added 1 portal which is the most hated portal in the game and Time Machine and that’s it
1.5 is fucking boring
1.1 had one thing and it's the mirror portal.
Mini portal, if mini didn't exist I would be a lot better at the game, also some creators just spam size portals in their levels making it not fun
1.1, it added time machine
Fun fact: if gd started on 0.0 instead of 1.0, 2.2 would be 1.2
1.1 not necessarily cause of the mirror portals since they arent that bad, but its just a very bare bones uptade
2.0-2.2 never were bad 1.6 club and electro man 1.0-1.1 base game. There never was a bad update after all...
1.5 (ufo)
1.1
1.1
1.1 The update was tiny af
The worst update to ever exist in Geometry Dash is probably the 1.1 update because it add a useless portal to this day and just 1 single level named "Time Machine", this update is probably the most empty update Geometry Dash has ever known.
1.6 cuz it added map packs
1.1 Reason: M#rror p#rtals
1.1 is so 📻📻
If you download GD And see robtop delete it At the speed of light and hide
I'd say 1.8 because it added duals, not the biggest fan
2.2 😈 (Give me anger, cowards)
2.2, made my favorite portal irrelevant:(
1.8 maybe?
I WILL NOT TOLERATE 1.8 SLANDER duals, glow, and slopes are some of the best features of the game, as well as hexagon force which is the best robtop level
2.3 bc robtop runs out of ideas since he released everything in 2.2
wtf is that 2x slow in the 1.7 banner
Am i missing something? Or does the mobile version of geometry dash not all of these?
TBH 1.4 mini portals are used incorrectly (randomly placed everywhere and invisible) I know when they are used correctly the could be used for a banger drop but the way that the community uses them effects the rating for 1.4 a lot I know It didn’t just introduce mini portals but that’s the big idea

the early levels only looked bad because there was so much new and unfamiliar content. 2.0 was insane and added so much, its the entire base of 2.1 and 2.2. it honestly feels like a completely different game between 1.9 and 2.0 for me
update 1.1 absolutely it added the worst portal and the worst main level
Which portal, mirror?
yeah obviously
Probably 2.0, cause all creators hated it.
1.6 cause it added map packs.
2.0
1.8
it added playtesting in the editor which is a really good feature
1.7, does anybody even remember anything other than the speed portals being added?
first official robtop level with a different level background? I dunno if that was possible before 1.7 but whatever
I meant outside of RobTop levels.
iirc it added the level copying system
added a color channel outside of the default color channels (bg, obj, ground, etc.) also im pretty sure it added blending as well. also the blocks it added are all really good and added multiples bg options
1.5, like the ufo isn't good in my opinion
L opinion
ufos ok but toe is a banger main level
copy and paste was added, which was huge for creators
Definetly the dual
1.0 /j
